We took my 9yr old here for his birthday because he heard they had really good steaks and we have never been. Worst decision ever service was bad I had to ask for my refill after seeing our server walk by 3 times. Our food didn't come out at the same time they served my son and husband and about 5 minutes later my food and my daughter's food finally came out mind you I only ordered a side of Mac and cheese broccoli and mash. Our server never removed a single empty dish from our table so no prebussing. Then to put the cherry on the cake our server Ashley decided to take it upon herself to add a tip to our card after we had already left a cash tip on the nice clean organized table because we aren't animals and we make it easy on our servers. I do not recommend eating at this place unless you want your money stolen I have yet to receive my refund but they were quick to send me a gift card that I won't be using. read more

I have to say I absolutely love this establishment. Normally I don't go to a restaurant unless it's at least 2 hours prior to closing, but it was a friend's birthday and we wanted to go somewhere nice. We had a party of 8 show up about an hour/hour fifteen prior to closing. Timothy was our waiter and was absolutely phenomenal. Despite having to stay late, he treated us with kindness and made us feel welcome. He ensured our table was very well taken care of, drinks were always full and orders were completely accurately. Our food came out perfectly as always and we were not rushed, though we did not leave until 15 minutes after closing. I'm sure it was an inconvenience to the establishment, but I am now a customer for life! And a huge fan of Tim! They helped to make our friend's birthday that much more special and I will never forget how wonderfully we were treated. This is now my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Florida, let alone just Ocala. Thank you all so much! read more

We had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Ocala Florida for the first time last night. The service was great, and food was excellent. Our waiter Frank and the manager Robert made us feel very important. I tried the steak and lobster tail. This evening we wanted to take Pam sister Pat to our favorite place in Ocala. We always enjoy eating here and have loved the food for years and the service is always Great. This afternoon was a bit different. Cocktails were good, Pam had a Vodka Gimlet, Pat had a dry dirty Martini and I had the southern vodka sweet tea. We ordered a Malbec to go with dinner that was light and very nice. First let me start with the food as always it was wonderful. We ordered two appetizers the Spinach Artichoke dip that was full of creamy goodness but the chips were a bit salty, and the Spice chicken bites that had a great Asian sweet chili kick. Pam and her sister Pat both had the 8oz Flo's filet. Pam had salad with baked potato and Pat had Caesar Salad with Carrots. Oh the carrots were enough to make you throw the steak on the floor, poor Pat only got to eat about half of them by the time we got through sharing with us. I had the 18oz Ribeye bone in the Wedge salad and a baked potato. The salads were all crisp and ice cold and full of salad goodies the Steaks cut like butter and were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Here is my issue. After being in the Restaurant/Hospitality business for 35 years and a self-described Gourmand and a trained French Chef I believe that timing is as important as the food itself. The Appetizers arrived promptly and were hot and delicious and we were still enjoying our wonderful appetizers when our salads arrived which made us feel a bit rushed and really crowded our table to the point of being uncomfortable. One of the appetizer plates was removed to make room for the entrees and I had literally just finished chewing my last bite of salad which I was really enjoying. The last appetizer plate and the salad plates were all removed as the entrees were being placed in front of us. The wine came about 10 minutes into the entrees and the table maintenance was a disaster. The ladies were still eating when we were asked if we would like dessert which we declined and then the check arrived. Keep in mind the check is on the table with three entrée plates, all of our silverware, the bread cutting board, side plate and I am sure there was a partridge in a pear tree there also. Camellia our waitress as sweet as she was, was a terrible waitress and it was the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. The food being wonderful helps but to me service is so important. The Restaurant was not busy when were there as it was only about 4:30 and there was NO excuse for rushing us in that manner. We also never saw a manager. We will return. read more

It's not my first time having dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse I have always enjoyed the food and the service, but today the story was disappointing. We were greeted by the waitress Tasha in a very cold way. My wife asked for a Margarita and she didn't asked if she wanted salt or a on the rocks drink. Maybe she thought she was paying for our dinner or between were Latin we don't tip well. Sorry we are servers too and we know how to tip. We felt like leaving but we stayed and enjoyed our dinner ignoring her. She should work somewhere else or try to be more hospitable to the customers no matter what nationality they are! read more

We have been to Longhorn Steakhouse for a group lunch, a Party of two, and dinner for a party of 7. This party of 7 had 6 dinners here over several months. We had the best service and good to excellent meals. Our appetizers and drinks were always very good and the service was, too. Our only problem was the the Flo's Fillet. After 4 good visits, number 5 and 6, when ordering the small Flo's medium-rare or rare, it was over-cooked!! When you are eating with a group, it is very hard to send back and have a new steak cooked while the rest of the party has been served! One person switched to another meal. But because another opted not to go there any longer, the group switched restaurants. It's important to be able to present what you are offering. Either don't offer the small Flo's Fillet rare or medium-rare, or do it right! read more

My family and I recently came here for dinner the other day and they had a hold at the door with about 16 to 17 free tables in about seven or eight parties waiting to be seated. Once we finally got seated it took us 23 minutes to get our appetizers and drinks put in, what is that was put in it took us almost another 20 minutes just to get the appetizer. We then ordered our meals, it took us 38 minutes to get two steaks , an order of fish and an order for a kids macaroni. You could tell everything was strictly processed and out of a bag even down to their French onion soup. I was quite upset that our server was rude and then our food was even worse. They had a tall slender man in a chef's coat portray to be a chef but in actuality he probably was just some type of manager and he actually doesn't cook anything. As servers run amok in the server alley all they did was talk about their adventures of smoking and drinking and what did they wanted to do for the weekend. You know they should probably get doors so the public doesn't have to hear have a servers act. And they also should have management watch their servers because they need to wash their hands after they touch money and then go touch food. We won't be returning, this must be why they don't have any longhorn where I'm from. read more

Very nice place. Steak was very good. Would of given it four stars, but I never got the sides that were suppose to come with the steak. The waitress never came back around until dinner was done. When I asked what happened to them, I was told that they forgot them. I asked for a price break because I didn't get what I ordered, but was told that that was not possible, and I could take the sides home instead. Too tired to argue, I pass on the take home and paid the bill. I took the cost of the sides out of the tip. Regardless of the poor customer service the food is good. Had lunch at this chain steakhouse. Being a first time patron of this establishment, I was impressed with the quality of service and food. I had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, followed by the spinach feta chicken, with two sides (risotto and mashed potatoes), for my entrée. I have eaten at the Ocala Longhorn a few times over the last few years. Every time the food has been overly salty and over cooked. Today I had the sliced beef sandwich (sliced prime rib, that's a joke) cooked so much that it was totally dry and the only flavor was salt. Upcharged for a hand chopped salad. It was just a side salad. I have given them over a half dozen chances for a good first impression, I'm done. Service was OK, but I don't think a server should just say that's the way it is when a customer notes that something is not as expected. read more

Let me preface this by explaining I am unable to dine in restaurants due to an immune disorder, so we ordered our meal to be picked up. Our order was placed as soon as the restaurant opened and picked up within the designated time frame (we live less than 5 minutes from the Restaurant). That being said, we ordered an overly priced Flo's Fillet with baked potato (seemed as if kept in a warming tray for extended period, external skin was wet internal temperature cool). The steak had 2 parts (thought it was supposed to be one steak). The smaller portion was tender and cooked as ordered, the larger portion tough and overcooked. Salad had wilted leaves and clumps of iceberg lettuce. The cheese, tomato pieces, cucumber were overly wet with water in the bottom of the "to go" plastic container, croutons were soggy. The blue cheese dressing, too salty, was ordered on the side to prevent too much or too little placed on the salad. Would have paid the same amount if I were able to dine in the restaurant so why should I get lack luster food just because I am unable to dine in? This was the first time I had eaten there in many a moon as I stopped eating meat 6 years ago. Recently reintroduced meat in my diet , this dinner being my first "red meat" meal. Would probably have been better off eating a hamburger from a local fast food chain for a lot cheaper! read more

The steak my wife had (Flo's filet) was over cooked and the Broccoli was over steamed and mushy. My Ribeye was perfect, however, the fries were old, oil soaked and very mushy. Almost gave it 4 stars? (I actaully have changed this a few times) A Chain? It is, after all, Darden and no matter how much I want to disparage them, the company does an incredible job. The place was slammed, the server was quadruple sat and we were thirsty. She still managed to smile and keep everything filled in a timely fashion. The menu lacked on the vegetarian side, but that is expected from A STEAKHOUSE. I ended up with the Spicy Shrimp app some fries and Jalapeno coleslaw. I wanted a small meal but the Spicy Shrimps (yes I do see the s but I like it, so big whoop, sue me) were far from it. It was a canoe full of spicy, unhealthy goodness. Fried were very good Coleslaw was not too Jalapeno'd but had good flavor. It was too much food, but excellent especially for the price. If you want a big shrimp meal, this is the way to go. I had some of the Portabello covered steak to my left , which was tender and flavorful. Definitely get the sauce on the side as it was overpowering. 3 Stars? Why not four? Wine List was poop (I think ANY steak house should have at least one very good cab) It's still Darden so the atmosphere is stapled on. Lack of true healthy and good options. First of all, My call ahead got deleted somehow and after being told I would have a seat whenever we walked in, we were rudely told we never made a reservation and that we had to wait. Then we were placed right under the AC vent and waited and waited and waited for the waitress who never came back after taking our order, (we were there for 40mins), we grabbed the attention from another waiter to see if we could please change seats. After our food came out the moment i took a look you could clearly tell the French fries were microwaved. They were stale, soggy, and looked old. They tasted even worse than what they looked. The steak looked paleish white and looked like was just pressed instead of grilled. Terrible. We didn't get to try the steak as we were in absolute horror with just trying the fries. Stay away! We arrived at 5:05 pm. We were told 15 minute wait. After 45 minutes we asked the hostess what was going on. First it was new person learning, next they tell us it is because of call aheads. Seems if you call you get to go to head of line. We finally got a table 1 hr and 10 minute later. This is no way to run a restaurant. This was our first experience with Longhorn and our last. I dined at this restaurant with my family the last time we were in town and since my husband is a steak connoisseur we figured it would be to our liking. The food itself was pretty alright, I had the ribs and my husband had an 11oz sirloin. The ribs were fine but he was not pleased at all with his steak, he had told the waiter that he wanted his steak rare but after being served to him he was told that it could'nt be prepared to his liking. But I must warn you, CUSTOMERS CHECK YOUR BILLS BEFORE YOU PAY! We were nearly scammed when the waiter brought our check and we discovered that the order from the table next to us had been commingled with our bill without our knowledge. I'm not normally the one to write a review but I felt obligated to. Let me first say that my waitress April was great and the food was awesome. I had dinner last night with a couple of friends outside on the patio. There was another party there of 6 people and a dog. Now Lord knows I love animals I have two dogs myself, however when I see your staff(not my waitress) pick the dog up in her arms, rub the dog, play with the dog, and let the dog lick her in the face I immediately became concern. This staff member then went back in the restaurant to do God knows what. I spoke with the manager Carlos who seem like he could care less. As I'm walking out he's talking and laughing with his staff. Im in managment and had this been my restaurant that employee would have to go home. As I stated early I'm really not the one to write reviews but this was completely unacceptable and has me second guessing visiting this establishment again. read more

The wait was as to be expected on a Saturday night. Once we got to the table we were greeted promptly by Britney. She got our drinks fast. She brought our salads out and our bread. She was quick to refill our drinks and was courteous and friendly with a big smile the whole time. Our food came out and I didn't like the butter on the mashed potatoes but the steak was perfect. Britney asked if we wanted dessert and we got the Apple crumble. She told us it would be 20 minutes because it needed to defrost. I told her it's fine we will wait. She brought our check out then, which is always appreciated. I hate waiting for the check. The dessert came out and it was delicious. Ice cream and warm Apple crisp literally melting In your mouth. It was worth the wait. Britney made sure to check on us even after we paid our check. She was a great server and even though it was busy she was attentive and happy the whole time. I planned my parents 50th wedding anniversary at Longhorn Steakhouse at 307 SE 17th Street in Ocala, FL and it was a great time. They do not take reservations but, Joe Karaffa the manager went above & beyond to accomadate our party of 20. They had a full bar, the best appetizers. Everyone enjoyed thier food which was also the best!! My Dad is diabetic and they let me bring in a cake that was diabetic and they served it. I wish I could remember the young lady & two young men that served us. They were really on top of it the whole time ad very sweet to my family who were mostly in their 70's & 80's.
