NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!! This was our second time here. The first time was amazing! The 2nd time... I called to see about the wait and was told 45 minutes for 2 people. I was 2 minutes from the restaurant when I called. Parked the car and went in and now all of a sudden it's an HOUR & 45 MINUTE wait. So we waited, finally got sat and the table next to us was empty and across from us empty when we sat down. 2 other parties were sat after us one was 6 people and the other one 4 people at the 2 empty tables. What really pissed me off was both of their orders were taken before ours and NO ONE and I mean NO ONE had even acknowledged that we were there! Someone brought us chips & some water I had to pour myself & my wife's water. I just assumed when you went to a restaurant that you were "paying for service" but apparently I was wrong. You now pay to serve yourself. After about 15 minutes of waiting (12 and half I timed it) I went and got a manager and told her the situation and how long we had been waiting to which she replied and I quote "you haven't been here 15 minutes it's been a bit but no that long" So now not only do I have to serve myself but I'm a liar too! So my wife and I got up and left. I WOULDN'T DINE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU PAID ME A MILLION DOLLARS!! NOT AFTER BEING TREATED LIKE THAT. I WOULD RECOMMEND LA LOMA OVER THIS PLACE! They're more expensive but have fantastic service. So you do get what you pay for. The only positive thing I can say is the barman Ben was super friendly and attentive! The pros are good service and friendly staff. The con is the food is lousy, it's like eating at a cafeteria where food is mass produced. In my combination plate I had a taco that tasted like it came directly from Taco Bell. The Chile Relleno was anything but, instead of the chile you get a 2" x 2" slice of one in the worst example of the dish I've ever seen. Lastly, the enchilada was marginal at best. Party of three. I was excited to take my brother from out of state and my mom to a late lunch. The decor is unremarkable. Strange combination of microbrewery and Mexican food. The food is basic, the salsa is horrible. But what got me was the service. We are not demanding people. But I do expect a certain level of competentence. The waiter, I don't recall his name, forgot the tortillas and didn't bring the sugar for the ice tea until half way through the meal, and not once refilled our drinks. We had to keep asking for things that an attentive server should be on top of. There were many empty tables and they were not busy. I can only imagine how worse it would have been if they had been. I will definitely NOT be recommending this restaurant to family and friends. It's a shame, I was really hoping it was going to be a new go to place for us. Hacienda restaurant in Lone Tree is far better than this place and La Loma put together. read more

Not sure what the hype is about as this was sub-par Mexican food at best. The taquitos were clearly stuffed with canned chicken, the beans and rice flavorless, and two of our table's halibut overdone to the point that it was unrecognizable as what usually is an excellent piece of fish. The only redeeming factor was the guacamole, but even that was likely pre-prepared with some fresh avocado thrown in to make it look good. I'm only glad we got there early enough to NOT face a 45 minute to an hour long wait for a disappointing experience. And talk about LOUD! You can't even hear people across the table from you! There's far better Mexican food to be had elsewhere. read more

The ambiance of the new restaurant is stunning! It was packed so waited an hour which was no biggie. We ordered beef enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchiladas were too greasy and rice and beans had zero flavor. The food was overpriced for below average food. We did get a to go box. When I had leftovers for lunch the next day, I noticed what looked like large rubbery arteries in my food. It was so disgusting and threw away the rest. Save your time and money and go eat at La Loma. They have the best Mexican food in Castle Rock. read more

What a beautiful restaurant with spectacular views! I found the service to be outstanding and the food excellent. The best Mexican food that I've found in Castle Rock. That said, I was not impressed with their IPAs. Not hoppy enough. I enjoyed the Hazy IPA. Fruity and light, but too light tasting for an IPA to satisfy my taste. read more

The food was good and the service was as well. we came for lunch and everything came out pretty fast. no complaints there. however we found a total of 3 hairs in our food. one in my water glass, one on my plate and one on his plate. since this place is still new i think they deserve grace but just implement extra precautions in the kitchen to ensure the plates are as clean as possible. read more

We were quoted 35mins. An hour later still waiting... There were empty tables available. Hostess said they were not seating people because the kitchen was backed up. Poor planning! They had 5 hostesses at the front. Maybe they can use their staff more effectively. More kitchen staff...less hostesses. And don't quote 35 mins if you can't deliver. An hour and 20 mins later still no table...we left and went to Dos Santos where we got great food and amazing margaritas! I have no idea about Los Dos' food or margaritas?!?! First of all, I am a regular at Los Dos in Centennial. Have been for years and it is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I wanted to try the new one in Castle Rock. The place is big and beautiful, but has totally lost the ambience of the original. I understand that kinks need to get worked out of a new restaurant. But this was a bit ridiculous. 2 hour wait for a table, which I was fine with. I expected that. The set up for the bar is really bad. You can hardly move, constantly bumping into waiters and waitresses and it took 45 min to get 4 margaritas. The margaritas at the Centennial location are outstanding and have a great kick. These were mostly ice and very weak. When I saw the bartenders fill the glasses with more ice when they weren't filled 2 inches from the top, I knew I was in trouble. You would NEVER see this at the Centennial location. After sipping a very weak and iced down margarita we went outside. This is the feature of the restaurant. The outdoor patio is very nice. We got our table and have to say I didn't even feel like I was in a Mexican restaurant. The coziness, lighting, Mexican feel of the Centennial location is not at the new one. I could have been at a brewery and wouldn't have known the difference. Service was fine, but food not even close to the original. Very bland and disappointing. I had the chicken mole and to be honest it was horrible. No flavor at all. I have had most items on the menu at Centennial (and never had a bad meal) and this was a major letdown. They have totally lost what made Los Dos what it is. I will not be back and look forward going back to my regular location in Centennial. read more

After watching the construction for months & this location finally opens we were very excited to visit this location. We originally went on a Sunday morning around 11am & the line was out the door & a 2 hour wait. It was understandable considering they just opened but we didn't want to wait & came back on a random Tuesday around 3pm. I must add it is very beautiful & detail oriented inside! We were sat immediately & drink orders were taken immediately! Paul was our server & he was wondering he knew the menu well & had a great sense of humor! We only had an appetizer to eat but it was good! We will definitely be back for dinner after the hype of the new spot in down dies down a bit!! read more

Beautiful new location in Castle Rock. Had the Barbados queso tacos... amazing! Great service! A little noisy in the rear area overlooking the mountains. I typically sit at the bar as I always get the best service and you get to meet new people. The skinny margarita is my favorite margarita in town and I love the steak burrito, fajitas and the queso barbacoa tacos. The entire bar staff is just amazing, including Ben, Jenna, Leigh, Nathaniel, Joshua, Ty and Eduardo. The wait can be a bit long for sure unless you get there early. This was the worst dining experience of my life, and that's saying a lot because I'm 80 years old! I've dined at the Los Dos in Littleton and found it enjoyable, but this Castle Rock locale wins the "Worst Restaurant" award. First, the food. I ordered a chicken taco salad: chicken had little or no seasoning, and the salad was a big, wet, goopy mess! First look was pretty, but the topping of sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, and cheese hid the tasteless stuff underneath. My husband's taco salad was the same, just with bland shredded beef! Second, Service. The front desk was harried and didn't try to fake it. The young lady sighed and scratched her head while taking down our name. No smile or pleasantries. Server was ok, but he was there for only one purpose: take our order in a big fat hurry and disappear until it was time to pay the check. Third, Ambiance. Absolutely none, and that's the best can I say. Too loud to have a conversation, tables crammed together, music impossible to hear. Finally, this restaurant has only one purpose - serve big drinks, big plates of food, and get you out as fast as possible to turn the tables. I can't imagine why anyone would ever go back! read more

After much hype about the new Castle Rock opening on one of the other social apps, my wife suggested we go straight after work on Friday. We got there a few minutes after five, and it was literally out the door, lined up to reserve your table. We got to the host station, and it was an hour wait. No biggie, we went to the bar (where there was also a line), and we got a drink and went out on the patio by the fire. I noticed right away, the place is not conducive to couples. There weren't tables for two, only four or more. There were two huge booths in the main room that were empty for over forty five minutes, no one was seated there. We thought that was strange. At the hour mark, we inquired about our place in the queue. We were told "thirty more minutes." I asked, "are you honoring the first come first served, or are you seating larger parties first?" They claimed to honor the first come first served. We waited the additional thirty minutes. At the 1.5 hr mark we asked again. We were told THIRTY MORE MINUTES. At this point we left, and grabbed food from a drive thru on our way home. The hostesses are clearly challenged on the timeline, and as I said, the restaurant is not conducive to couples. And they don't take reservations. You couples out there have been warned. Enter at your own risk of a huge time suck and little return on investment. read more

had to wait forever in the cramped waiting area where even the employees could barely get through. once sat, asked for a tequila menu but they didn't have one, which was very disappointing. ambiance was nonexistent, too loud and cramped. someone was making guacamole behind us and we could barely move. the food took awhile and disappointed us the most. im not sure the people here know what authentic Mexican is, but this isn't it. the only highlight was the fresh tortillas. but overall a disappointing experience. especially for the price read more
