I ordered the $18 white negroni, asked to substitute mezcal. my friend ordered a manhattan, asked to substitute for eagle rare. my drink came out to $31 before tax and tip. the server never asked if i had a preference on mezcal. their cheapest one on menu was $20. he decided i should have the $27 one (plus the $4 up charge for a negroni) my friends drink come out to FORTY FOUR DOLLARS. for EAGLE RARE. $44 for an eagle rare manhattan. no mention from our server. Eagle rare was not listed on the spirit list, but it is a $50-60 bottle. We drink this regularly for ~15ish at every other bar. i understand if you substitute spirits there is typically an up charge. However, this felt pretty extreme and honestly shady. No mention from our server simply says they wanted the tab to run up for the most gratuity. entrees took, no exaggeration, 50 minutes to hit the table. the bottle of wine we ordered took over 30 minutes to hit our table. Our reservation was for 7, and we didn't leave til 10 (and that's not because we were having a fun time) Food tasted fine once it hit. certainly not bad, but when factoring our experience in, we couldn't enjoy it. I have literally never reviewed a restaurant before. i've had plenty of experiences where things go wrong because they are slammed, overwhelmed, understaffed etc. this wasn't one of those. Just about an $800 tab of nothing but dissatisfaction. there's too many great places to spend money at this price point. Beautiful spot, great bar setup. Seven upstairs had beautiful views but I ended up scooting back to the lobby bar as there were more people there at 5:30 in a Friday. The grapefruit juice was so fresh! I ordered the Oyster Crudo and Signature Lemon Spaghetti, subbed scallops for shrimp. So delish and no upcharge which was delightful. My husband and I had a spontaneous date night on a recent Saturday and decided to go meet another couple for dinner / drinks at Luna by Giada... I'd been in once before for a hard hat tour before the restaurant opened, so I was prepared for the beautiful ambiance, chic decor, fun vibe, etc... but seeing it in action proved even better than I expected. The service was attentive and friendly (thanks to our waiter, Paul, and many staff members who refilled our drinks, stopped by to check on how we were enjoying the food, etc... ) I enjoyed one of their speciality cocktails, a Caesar Salad with Shrimp, a taste of steak, and some shared sides of broccolini and asparagus. We skipped dessert and headed up to the 7th floor bar for an after dinner drink and people watching... it was quite entertaining! I cannot speak to the bill as our friends picked up the tab, but I'm sure it was extremely pricey. All in all, this place is worth a visit. We went to an event at the restaurant and it was OK nothing We decided to go to the bar for the restaurant after dinner February 7, 2026 we asked the bartender what she would recommend she responded, "whatever you want," as she turned her back and walked away.Wow, she clearly didn't care. We ordered martinis that we received, and they were lukewarm and not balanced appropriately. I turned to my husband as he had asked me a question in the Bartender tapped loudly with her nails on the bar top to get my attention asking me what kind of olives I wanted. Not sure if it was a bad night for her, but if you're in the service industry, you shouldn't be a jerk! We didn't finish our martinis when we left never to see them again. We visit the Phoenix/Scottsdale area once a month so we've been meaning to visit this place. My wife is big on famous chef's and we make it a point to visit our favorite chef's restaurants to see if they live up to the hype as well as supporting their business. The restaurant is located inside of the Ceasars Republic hotel near the fashion square mall. The ambiance is very posh with a lot of patrons dressed up as well as casual. Before we opened the door, we got the vibe of sophistication and style by walking past a Ferrari parked on the sidewalk. One of many exotic rides in the small parking lot where we utilized the valet option. We made reservations and found ourselves waiting an extra 10-25 minutes to be seated along with a few other couples with the same problem. We were all patient and just enjoyed the sleek and modern scenery while others killed time at the bar feet away. The hosts were nice and professional. We couldn't help but notice the tiny black dresses/skirts that most of the young women were wearing, to no complaints to anyone present. Once it was ready, the host/manager Kenny walked us to our table while giving us a rundown of the hotel and other attractions that it holds. Kenny also gave us the rundown on the open kitchen and the history of the building and restaurant. He was very professional and a great introduction to the experience. Kinda reminded me of cousin Richie from the bear show, super chill yet on top of his game. We checked out the menu and knew we had plenty of options to choose from. Always a good sign when you don't have to force a choice with uncertainty. We got a half dozen oysters, fried calamari and shrimp with an order of facoccia bread. All were fresh and tasty. The shrimp outshined calamari but that's the only thing I'd mention. For entrees, I got the branzino that came with endives and celery puree. It was magical with the perfect skin texture. My love interest ordered the Filet, medium rare that comes with a quail egg and she added a few scallops to go with it. The Filet was ideal and the scallops were just as good, coming from somebody that helped myself to 2 of the 4 lol. For dessert, we got the souffle with hazelnut topping and the lemon cheesecake. The cheesecake hit the spot while the souffle was a mind trick where it looked like a cake yet tasted like scrambled eggs. I won't take any points away because, that's pretty normal for souffle and I can't blame anybody but us for expecting different. The hazelnut sauce was good enough to break even in taste. Everything about the food lived up to our high expectations and the service was second to none. Our waitress Natalie was very attentive and friendly. She never made us feel that she was in a rush but she was still zooming around handling her rounds along with everybody working here. The system they have in this business is flawless and efficient. I even have to add that the entire restaurant was FULL of beautiful people. From the waitresses,hosts, servers etc. You'd think there was a strict policy and screening in order to work here where no exceptions are made lol. I made a reservation online a few weeks in advance for Saturday evening dinner as a late bday surprise for my sister. Booking was easy and quick. The day finally came and we arrived at the establishment right on time for our reservation. We luckily found a parking spot right away as we saw many cars circling the lot for a spot. Valet was also available. We walked in and we were both quickly greeted by the host. She was very soft spoken and told us it would be a few minutes for our table so we stood to the side. The broccolini was a side that we both agreed on that was very delicious!!! They were flavorful, crunchy, and super tasty! I would order that over and over again!! I had La Estrada drink and it too was a pass... It tasted very watered down and had no flavor. Definitely not worth the $21 price point. The Limocello Soufflé was pretty good as it was served to us warm topped with a pink sauce and they added a cute Happy Birthday chocolate on top. Service was ok. The restaurant gets a 4 but the server a 5! Restaurant is beautiful, a little noisy, but the overall atmosphere is great. Like being in Las Vegas as a nice hotel restaurant but you are actually in Arizona. There are many food and beverage choices and lots of lemon dishes. The main reason for the four stars is that it took over an hr from being seated to being given entrees. The kitchen got quite backed up after some cooking staff were sent home. Our server did apologize and made sure we were well taken care off. The lemon spaghetti was quite interesting but not piping hot. The shrimp was well cooked. The pizza on the other hand was quite warm and fresh out of the oven. And the tiramisu was a perfect way to end the night! Had dinner last night after watching Giadas show for so many years. I had an opportunity to be in italy last summer for the first time. I watched her travel show to Italy before coming to dinner and I wanted to see for myself. Let me tell you, it was fantastic. Started with the arancini and then of course had the signature lemon pasta. just the right amount of lemon and cheese and the homemade pasta was incredible with the perfect al dente. My friends had the lobster pasta and was wowed by the presentation. After a while, we had forgotten to take more pictures as my friends were recounting our trip to Italy. Our Bartender, Michael, is first class! BTW, the White Negroni absolutely blew me away! I'm a traditional Italian man who loves his traditional Negroni, but the White (clear) version will now be served on my Italian home as well. Okay, so just so you know, the food it amazing. My wife and I shared the meat pizza and it was so good I had to know what ingredients the chef uses to create such a masterpiece (so I can duplicate it at home as well)...the "00 Flour" is the secret weapon. I highly recommend happy hour due to the incredibly discounted prices. Also, check out the rooftop bar / restaurant on the Seventh Floor called "Seven". There's a great bar menu that will please the palette and a cocktail menu that is sure to please. The menu has a nice selection of many Italian dishes and we opted for a pizza/pasta combo which is perfect for us. The service here was amazing despite the fact that this is a newer restaurant and you can tell that they really want you to have a great experience. This place is a bit pricey for an Italian concept, so I would recommend only coming here if you want to do a special occasion. I've dined at many places, but my experience at Luna ranks among the worst -- not because of the food (which I never even got to try), but because of the abysmal customer service and outright incompetence of management, particularly from the so-called General Manager, Paul. Upon arrival, we were greeted not with hospitality, but with confusion and indifference. There were clearly multiple open tables, yet we were told by the hostess staff that seating was being handled "by the computer" -- a nonsensical excuse that seemed more like a way to avoid accountability than a system designed for efficiency. No logic, no flexibility, no service. When we asked for clarification, Paul stepped in -- not to help, but to escalate the situation by smugly offering us seats at the bar. That's right: while empty tables sat untouched, the General Manager thought the best solution was to downgrade our experience and essentially dismiss our concerns. According to him, there were no pre-assigned seats, just random assignments from some mystery system. Translation: we don't care where you sit, and we're not going to help you. Luna wants to present itself as a refined dining experience, but the truth is it's run like a poorly managed chain with zero regard for the guest. If Paul is the one leading the team, it's no wonder the front-of-house is so disorganized and indifferent. Save yourself the frustration. Luna may have trendy decor and a curated menu, but no amount of ambiance can make up for being treated like an inconvenience. Until they learn the basics of hospitality -- or hire someone who actually knows how to manage a dining room -- this place deserves to be skipped, not celebrated. read more

This restaurant has been on my list for awhile after going to her establishment in Vegas on the strip! So when I found out they were opening another restaurant in Scottsdale I was excited! As I knew this newish restaurant would be popular I booked a seat for four several month in advance with my preferences! The restaurant is located within a hotel near the Scottsdale mall perimeter. It's a little hidden but any map app will direct you to the restaurant. The hotel restaurant has valet parking but a covered lot across the way exists too. Self parking is free and very convenient. The restaurant opens at 5pm. We booked our seating for 6pm so part of our party enjoyed cocktails at the super modern bar upon entrance. As we just got in for reservations, we checked in with desk outside of restaurant. The check in process was a bit awkward as we had to wait for about ten minutes to be seated. We just stood awkwardly not knowing what we were supposed to do after checking in. Finally we were greeted and taken to our table. The rest of our party at the bar were shown to our table as well! We were promptly greeted at our table by the staff. We were introduced to their cocktails and wine menus. The restaurant, as you would expected has a lengthy wine menu and speciality cocktails. Shortly after our waitress provided us a wealth of information on each of the courses and some of her favorites! All sounded lovely! We started with some fresh focaccia with dipping sauces. A bit small for four people so if you are a big bread eater you might need two. We then tried the dates. There were five decent size dates which were very good in flavoring. The next course was salad: I started with a traditional Cesar. Salad had a lot of Parmesan and croutons. I usually skip croutons but these were very fresh and yummy. Only miss was lack of anchovy taste. As for dinner, I had the lemon spaghetti as this is their signature item on the menu! Unfortunately the entree was not spot on as the two shrimp provided with the dish were overcooked thus dry! Too bad as they were good size shrimp. The other person in our group had the same issue with their shrimp. The best entree of the group was the steak which was cooked perfectly. Our other friend had pizza and it was nothing special and it was dry. Another miss. For dessert we sampled two desserts off the menu: lemon soufflé and a chocolate cheesecake like dessert. Both were good but not great! So as for we had highs and lows! For this price should be perfect: especially as it's Giada's restaurant. Service was good! One of our favorite servers was Jose and his big pepper grinder! Thanks Jose for posing for me with the grinder! As for atmosphere: restaurant is super modern. A place to be seen! Absolutely loved the rooms, drinks, bar, atmosphere and food! We went to eat on Christmas and it was truly a beautiful night. We sat in a "star" room and we absolutely loved it. Service was not our favorite. (Only thing lacking) If you work in a high end restaurant, in Scottsdale, on Christmas we are going to tip well you above the average 20%. We asked the server what he recommends and he said he was "hurting himself" by telling us the cheaper option. There were a ton of little comments regarding tips and we get it (it's Christmas, but we're also just here for a good time). So he forgot our utensils, my drink and double charged us for an appetizer but the manager gave us a free dessert so that was great The busser was phenomenal and took care of us! He is 5 stars alone. Luna is one of the sought after restaurant in Scottsdale. We finally got the reservation during Thanksgiving weekend so we had very high expectations. Luna is located inside newly opened Caesars Republic Hotel by the Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale. Ambiance is good and it's quiet a large restaurant with various seating arrangement as well as private dining area for business meeting or private parties. The only negative was acoustics inside the restaurant because it was hard to hear others on your own table. Hope they fix it. Our server was excellent and explained everything from special of the day to what's popular as well as any allergy in our group. We ordered drinks including NA beer, Martini's and cocktail and it was excellent. Starter as showed in the photos included soup, Crab Arancini and Lemon Pizza. It was yummy. We ordered famous lemon spaghetti, Chicken Panznell, Pan Seared Salmon and Mezzi Rigatoni as our main entrees. It was outstanding. For desert we had Tiramisu, Cake and Cappuccino. Again, excellent recommendation by our server. Presentation and service exceeded our expectations. Price wise it's very expensive but worth it. Their signature lemon pasta was good, but the sauce was a little too heavy for my liking, and it needs more lemon. The salads were good. Wine selection was solid with many Italian wines by the glass. We never waited for anything and someone always coming to give us something, so very attentive, maybe I would dare to say a little too much. The ambiance was mixed. It was clean and decorated fine but it's inside a hotel and very open. It very much felt you were in a hotel and sitting in a loud cafeteria they tried to make fancy. Every plate says Luna on it and fancy red crystal water cups on plain tables with no table cloth. and it's like a cheap fancy. Not sure how to describe it. Weird vibe. Anyway, one strange thing that I have never had happe Ed when we ordered or appetizers I wasn't sure what to get for my main. So we put the order in for 2 appetizers and she says to us, "are you also ready to put in your main course? The kitchen likes when we give them customers full order all at once so they know. " We might have looked a little puzzled and said, ok because then she said, I know they just like it all at once. So we place out order for stuffed dates and a sushi like salmon. The dates were over cooked and extremely bland. I was worried I wouldn't like the gorgonzola sauce but it had barely any flavor and the spicy sausage wasn't spicy, it had zero flavor. I don't eat salmon but my husband said that was good and actually looked very appealing. Our main course was a meatless pasta vodka that was ok, nothing I would have to my friends about. Had a slight lemon flavor to it, definitely not horrible but definitely not worth the price. They claim it's homemade pasta everyday but didn't have the texture of fresh pasta but who knows. My husband got the salmon and he said it was bland and it looked bland. He is a pretty simple food guy, so for him to say something is bland is probably very bland to a normal person. The cocktail list was a bit underwhelming, nothing stood out. Stick with wine or a simple cocktail. Didn't want to venture into desserts because the food was blah but we did get a nice slice of cake/cookie type cannoli thing that was extremely sweet but nice they sent it. Very surprised that chef Giada has her name attached all over this. Probably go elsewhere for this price point in the area with something that checks all the boxes. read more

Unfortunately it was not a good experience. Mediocre food and terrible ambiance. We were looking forward to this dinner for a few months and it was not what we anticipated. it was a waste of money for my mother's 80th birthday. What an amazing dining experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was top level at the bar and with our server Melanie. The drinks and food were one thing better than the next. Definitely recommend the lemon pizza, sounds weird - tastes phenomenal. I would highly recommend Luna as one of my favorite AZ restaurants.
