Definitely a bit overpriced for what you get, but I was still pleased. My husband got the steak, which was perfectly done, and my kale salad was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I also really appreciated that the bartender let me taste the two wines I was choosing between and had a nice heavy pour. Inside was very cute and romantic. Overall 4 out of 5.

Had such a fun girls' night at Lupa with two of my besties and honestly, everything was amazing. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share (highly recommend doing that here), and literally everything slapped. The squid ink seafood pasta was so flavorful, the truffle ravioli was rich and cozy, and that creamy dish with the crunchy topping? We still don't even fully know what it was but we were fighting over the last bite. Even the Brussels sprouts were next-level. Like, who gets excited about Brussels sprouts? We did. The vibe was super cute and not too loud, perfect for catching up over wine and way too much food. Our server was really helpful and chill, which we appreciated because we had questions about half the menu. If you're looking for a spot to eat good pasta and feel fancy-but-not-too-fancy, this is it. Already planning our next visit.

Overall I would give a 3.5/5. We were seated in the back area and it was very tight since the restaurant was packed. We started off with the complementary bread and ordered the arancini. It was okay, it tasted more on the blander side. For entrees, we ordered the cacio e Pepe and amatriciana. The portions were generous! The amatriciana was too salty for my liking but my fiance enjoyed it. We ordered tiramisu for dessert and for it tasted a little sour and we couldn't finish it.

I've been here twice in the past several years and it's very good. Not the best Italian in the West Village, but there is tough competition around. I would not steer anyone away from here, just manage your expectations accordingly. Came here for a business dinner last week, so we got to try a large cross-section of the menu: burrata, meatballs, octopus, prosciutto, arancini, and roasted beets. Standouts were the octopus (this is very hard to get right), and the roasted beets. Definitely order those. For dinner, I had a primi and a secondi (I could only fit in two bites of the secondi, but it was great the next day) - Primi: cacio e pepe with gluten-free pasta - this was great. I'm not sure what the pasta was made of. It was an interesting consistency, but it was still good and satisfied my cacio e pepe craving. - Secondi: the lamb - wow! Definitely get this. I'm Greek and have high standards for lamb and it was even good the next day. We also ordered a few bottles of wine. The Sommelier helped. He was an interesting person. Couldn't tell if he was annoyed with us or not, but his flavor descriptions were spot on and we did order a bottle of red that was fantastic (see pics). It was a good noise level, too. Overall, this is good for groups or a date night.

I love Italian food and couldn't wait to try this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street not too far. When I walked in, I was greeted by James the host, and he was very nice. The restaurant was so cute! Adrian was the bartender, Marco was my server, and Ian was the GM. They were all great! I started with an espresso martini, which was great. I then had an amazing red wine. For my appetizer, I had the Arancini di Mozzarella, and it wasn't bad. It was nice and cheesey. For my meal, I got the Black Spaghetti with Spicy frutti di mare. I really enjoyed my entrée. It was very different and melted in my mouth. I really enjoyed the food, drink and service!

What a disappointment. This was my favorite, most visited and consistent restaurants back in its heyday. I know it's silly to think it would still be as good. But someone told me that one of the original chefs was there again (idk if that's true) so I jumped at the chance to return, despite having mediocre meals there a few times over the past couple years. It was a sad surprise. To start, the bread. It used to be heavenly. A couple times ago it was dry and cold. This time it was incredibly oily and dense. But tastes fine. Then we ordered a salad which was fine and octopus which was fine. Next the pastas. The cacio e Pepe was again "fine". The special, a vegetarian option was inedible. It came swimming in a broth of oil. Just looked up at me like an unappetizing health hazard. I took a bite to see if it might be worth it. No. Finally the contorni. The contorni at Lupa used to be magical. Powerful and subtle masterpieces. We ordered Brussels sprouts and fingerlings potatoes. The Brussels were the exact same tired balsamic saucy sprouts you can get anywhere and the potatoes came drizzled with a sauce that seemed fitting for a Super Bowl party. And the servings of them were huge. The whole vibe/plating/flavor was like any place else. NOTHING was special or delectable or even just good. The tartuffo was fine. And lastly the music. Another thing that made Lupa stand apart back in the day was its loud and exciting playlists. All they played this time were random Beatles tunes (I love the Beatles but maybe mix it up) played mid-level on horrible sound quality. I think this was the last hurrah. Time to move on.

Great little Italian spot if you're in the soho/west village area! Stopped in here for lunch and the ambiance was chic and cozy. Our server was attentive and polite. The food portions were big and left us feeling incredible full. The steak and broccoli rabe felt a tad over salted and oily. Would recommend for a nice lunch or cute dinner date.

We sat directly next to the door on a cold winter night. There was a lot of back and forth and the restaurant was quite crowded. So the ambiance was less than desirable. The crispy Brussels sprouts were delivered as promised and tasted very good. The carbonara was well made but I found the cured meat odd. It tasted a little bit like Chinese sausage. The meat was also used in the bucatini dish, it was overall very salty. The tiramisu was also not as expected. It was a little more custard like than usual.

Stumbled upon this classy cozy Italian restaurant. It so awesome! I walked in and sat at the bar for dinner. I had the papperdelle with asparagus and pees. I was blown away with how refreshing the dish tasted. The pasta was slight and so fresh. I truly felt like I was in a restaurant in Italy. Will be back again.

A great local find! Staff is very friendly and quick, casual atmosphere and food is really really good as well as wine selection. We tried two different types of white wine and they were both fantastic. For appetizers, we started with prosciutto with mozzarella and then shared two types of pasta and a side of Brussels sprouts. The linguine was their daily special. Will definitely go back

RATING: 7.3/10 PRO TIP: DO NOT! SKIP! DESSERT! Get the olive oil cake !! Also note that this place doesn't joke around when it comes to al dente. Even having eaten at other authentic Italian places, this place takes the cake for how firm their pasta dishes were, which I thought I would like, but turns out is even a bit much for me. BAVETTE CACIO E PEPE** One of their most popular dishes, this was a really solid cacio e pepe but I was personally wanting it to be more peppery. However, they emulsified the sauce excellently as it clung onto the noodles smoothly and had a nice creamy richness to it. I also think out of all the dishes, the level of doneness was most to my liking, but still more al dente than even other fresh pasta places. STROZZAPRETTI W BEEF RAGU Again, very al dente, tasty sauce but nothing that blew me away unfortunately. Nice savory meat, a bit salty. Solid choice but would have preferred getting the cacio e pepe for myself. MARINATED ARTICHOKES - not the biggest fan especially given the price tag. Just was lacking a bit for me in terms of depth of flavor. ARANCINI ** - this was really good, and was very crisp but tender on the inside. DESSERT OLIVE OIL CAKE - so so so delicious! So glad we got to try this. Incredibly moist, has a nice brightness running through it, with that luxuriousness offered by the olive oil. Delish! PANNA COTTA - one of the few spots in the city serving panna cotta (why is it hard to find?) and has a beautiful jiggle to it. There's a bit of texture confusion as its gelatinousness doesn't mesh well with the jammed berries and crispy pieces, as the crisps break against your teeth after the soft gelatinous pudding, which is odd for me (for some reason I feel like it should be crunchy then soft, not soft then crunchy?) FINAL RANKING: GOOD (terrible / bad / ok / GOOD / great/ excellent)

Wow! A super lunch experience here! To start I shared the KALE CAESAR WITH CELERY ROOT & GRAPEFRUIT with someone else at the table. Kale? Ugh. Add celery root & grapefruit to a Caesar? That sounds weird at best. However, I was shocked as to how good it was. Normal I avoid kale, because, well it is kale and on top of that it contains progoitrin, a compound that can interfere with thyroid hormone synthesis, and thiocyanate ions, which can crowd out the iodine your thyroid needs. So besides a taste challenge there is a reason not to eat it, but in this case my advice is to go for it! For my main course I had the SPAGHETTI CARBONARA WITH BLACK PEPPER. The waiter, when going over the menu, said I could get that anywhere, but that was what I was in the mood for. Could I get it anywhere? Well, this one did stand out as well. The bacon was not only peppery, but it had possibly the best overall flavor I have ever found in a dish by this name. Yes, I left the place very happy...

3.5 - Solid food - if I lived in this neighborhood, it would be a go-to. Tried a few of the pastas and sides, and liked everything. The pastas are simple, but perfectly al dente and the sauces were perfect. I thought my cacio e pepe was better than most I've had around the city (including Roscioli). Generously sized portions, too. Service was fine, and there was a lively atmosphere around the bar. I wasn't drinking that night, which was very sad because they have a big amaro selection that I'd love to try a bunch from - next time!

It's almost impossible for me to ever be happy with Italian food outside of Italy or home. WELL, Ci Siamo proved me WRONG and I'm so happy they did. We came here for a pre concert dinn dinn. Initially I thought we'd just get some drinks and apps and keep it moving. The dishes were jaw dropping and served with the prettiest details. We ordered the tagliatelle al sugo, orechiette with ramps, pistachio and pecorino and the snap peas with bulgur, asparagus and sunflour seeds. WOW WOW WOW The sugo was uncomplicatedly made come lo fa tua nonna. None of the heavy Italian American traditions. All so delicious adding their own twist. The orecchiette was such a creative dish but also so bright, colorful and so many different textures and flavors that to perfectly together. Portions were perfectly sized and we got to share and try everything. If we would've ordered apps it would've been too much. WOW SO DELICIOUS!! hack to get a res is going for lunch lol…read more this meal was so yummy!! the perciatelli nero was bright, citrusy, and had an aftertaste of spicy (from the pepper i assume). the crab pieces were generous and buttery and the pasta seemed to be homemade and cooked al dente. very light and refreshing and the sauce was addicting. i think this pasta paired perfectly with the burger. definitely a heavier, decadent dish, but also surprisingly not too salty. the meat itself was fine but i thought the bun was so good especially since the bottom bun kinda absorbed the meat and cheese juice and the top bun stayed crispy and soft. potatoes on the side were fine. tbh i think this is the best meal ive had at an italian restaurant. and they gave us free gelato for my friend's birthday!!! great service, lots of seating (altho the tables were kinda sat pretty close together) and honestly a great place to catch up over a yummy meal.
