We were told to come here when we are at Cha Cha Tang, I believe they are sister restaurants. We had a fantastic meal! Our table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar until it was. Staff were all friendly and gave us great service. The food was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful. We had some sashimi pieces, tuna tataki, amazingggg sea bass with lobster rigatoni. Favorite was definitely the sea bass but the salmon also had my eye, maybe next time! Really recommend Lure! Can't wait to come back

I went for an impromptu brunch. The Service and decor were awesome. I didn't eat much so my review is for a limited tasting. The oyster deviled eggs were good no complaints there. The Maine lobster salad was okay nothing really stood out flavor Wise. Cocktail was good I forgot what it was something with cherry. Good experience would like to try dinner one day if it's still open.

Oh my oh my! The freshest fish ever, and this cookie is perfect too. It's sweet, salty, and rich. Absolutely THE date night restaurant. I can't wait to come back, and eat on an empty stomach so I can eat even more!

A few of my friends and I were looking to get together for some dinner and to catch up - the biggest question was, where? We first decided on a place that was new to us - and after seeing Lure Fishbar floating around on social media I thought it would be a good place to check out. That being said, I booked a table and we made plans to link up. Lure is located in SoHo, really in the thick of it in a subbasement of a building. The space is pretty large for a lower Manhattan restaurant, and the entire dining room has a nautical feel. It's meant to give off the impression that you're on a boat with the fixtures and aesthetics to match. The dining room is louder than I expected, with most of the tables and booths being in the middle of the space with a large (beverage) bar to the left and the raw bar on the back wall. The clientele is a mixed bag - families, people my age, groups of gen Z - all i various dress codes. Rarely have I seen a mix of people in a single space. It goes without saying but the menu mostly contains seafood items. They have a large raw bar selection, as well as sushi, caviar, apps, mains, a few pastas, and some sides. But first a drink - we had two round and I tried one of their cocktails each time. Both were pretty good, nothing too out of this world but solid overall. We decided to start with one of the seafood towers and a couple of apps. We went with one of the smaller towers which contained clams, oysters, crab claws, shrimp cocktail, and tuna tartare. I'm not an oyster fan, but everything else was quite tasty - they paired the seafood with a few sauces which acted as great complements. We also ordered shrimp tempura, the crab cake, and fluke crudo. All of these were solid - my favorite was the crudo due to the presentation and flavor accents; I thought the crab cake was was the weakest - it was deep fried and overall a little too heavy. For my main I went with the Branzino St. Tropez; this was a filet served on top of mashed potatoes, and spinach topped with crispy capers and finished with brown butter. The dish was fine overall - fish was cooked well though the potatoes could have been smoother; I did appreciate the balance of veg to starch. We opted for dessert, and I went with the deep-dish cookie. This was served warm and topped with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It was just okay; they were going for that warm cookie moment but it was kinda underdone which led to it being really soggy underneath the surface. It needed to be in the oven for a little longer and then it would have been perfect. Service was fine - a little impersonal in my opinion but the food came out at a good pace which I appreciated; this seems to be a sore spot based on other reviews. Overall, we had a great time at Lure Fishbar - the food was solid, the aesthetics were fun, and the company was great. Definitely a good option for dining if you're in SoHo.

As a former New Yorker, this establishment has been undefeated since my first visit years ago. Now, that i travel to the coty for work 4-6 times a year, it has become my go to, weather solo or with friends. Dimly lit, perfect for conversations and vibe. Knowledgeable and kind staff. Perfect execution of every dish. And the flavors are always to the max. If you love seafood, pasta, sushi, and great cocktails you cant go wrong with Lure. The sushi bar is my usual seating, but you're OK anywhere here.

I came here early this year for Winter Restaurant Week lunch on a whim. Ambiance brought back memories from the last time I was here which was in 2009. Service was great. Food was just as good as I remembered 16 years ago. For the two course restaurant week lunch, I added a wine pairing. For my appetizer I had the rock shrimp tempura with a glass of chardonnay. For my dinner entree I had the miso salmon with a glass of Cote du Rhone. I devoured everything. Wine was generous for the food consumed. I'd like to return to indulge in their happy hour.

Very festive for the holidays! The boat themed interior is very unique- definitely worth going below street level for. The deviled egg with a fried oyster on top may be the best bite I have ever had in an NYC restaurant. Never been to Lure, but finally got my opportunity when I met my cousins visiting from CA here. Bar area was very busy, with the restaurant having multiple dining areas including a sushi chef counter towards the back. The menu appears to be mostly "Asian" flavor profile inspired seafood with some exceptions. For entree, got the whole fried snapper which was good but honestly would probably rather just go to a Thai spot and get a snapper larb. Would come back in the future to try the sushi, since that seems like a major thing here. Saketini is strong and very botanical, so do not get if you are not into martinis!

Totally loved the place. In the heart of soho. Great menu. Friendly staff fun ambience. Sat at the bar. Ordered burger. Mushrooms and yellow tail carpaccio. All were absolutely perfect. I cannot wait to go back. And try more places on the menu.

Lure is the best! Lure is one of those places that is always consistent. Does it ever blow my socks off in terms of how amazing the dish was? No. But is it always very very good with zero complaints around? Yes. Service is always great with attentive servers and always friendly energy. The ambience is very cool as you feel like you're in an old ship and it's the perfect setting for a seafood dinner. Keep doing what you're doing Lure and we will keep coming back!

Wow! My first experience surpassed my highest expectations. Upon walking in immediately became immersed in the nautical theme of the restaurant. From the yacht-like interior, decor and antique-like wooden walls, the ambiance set the mood for a dining experience on the sea. To complement the vibe, the service was great. The entire team was pleasant, attentive and very professional. Our server helped me navigate the menu, accommodated my food sensitivities, and made perfect wine pairing recommendations that took the meal to a new level. All other elements aside, the food alone deserves 5 stars in my opinion. I started the with a few East coast oysters and some nigiri sushi (tamago and sea eel), both of which tasted fresh, flavorful and no cocktail or soy sauce was necessary. I followed that with the slow baked turbot entree (an east coast white fish) jasmine rice and a glass of Albariño, recommended by my server. It all was delicious and left me wishing the meal would never end. Lastly, I could not pass up ordering a salmon skin sushi roll which did not disappoint. As you can probably already tell, I have nothing but good things to share. If you get the opportunity, go dine at Lure and experience it all first-hand.

Visited Lure Fishbar on a Wednesday evening with a girlfriend. Our reservation was at 5:45 (which was the only time we could get) and the place was full by 6pm! The restaurant itself is a really nice space and had a great buzzy atmosphere to it for a Wednesday. We both started with Lychee Martinis which were very good (although at $22 each you would hope they were). We ordered the tempura shrimp and the spicy tuna crispy rice to start. The shrimp portion was very generous and had a really good flavour. The crispy rice was also very tasty, although nearly $30 for 5 pieces it is a little on the pricey side. For our mains we ordered the Shazam roll and the tuna avocado roll and my friend also ordered a lobster bisque. The sushi was ok but it didn't blow me away. My friend enjoyed her bisque and the portion was generous. We split our bill and it came to $140 each (including tax and tip). We did have two cocktails so that bumped the price up. I don't eat out in soho very often but I think for the area the price is probably inline with what you would expect to pay. I would revisit Lure but I would probably order something different instead of the sushi rolls, although make sure you order that tempura shrimp!

I am blown away!!! From the minute I walked down the stairs I was captivated by the vibe of being on a classy yacht. But then sitting in the main dining area in a semi circle booth, I felt like the captain of the ship. The crew then took over with the most casual warm friendly attentive service. I knew this was going to be an amazing way to celebrate my wife's 64th and my 65th birthday. Then came the star of show. A beautiful platter of oysters, clams, snow crab, tuna tar tar and seafood salad. It was a wow!!! Next we had the crispy rice sushi assortment, bacon wrapped shrimp and the halibut! Everything was to die for and I cannot wait to come back with my friends and family to share this gem of an establishment! Bravo to the amazing Lure Fishbar team and Thank You!

This place is a club with seafood. Not a chance that you will have a conversation with anyone you bring here. It's so loud. The food was average and our salmon was very undercooked. Also, they were out of a majority of basic wines. Riesling, Moscato, Prosecco. Sold out. Stunning for a supposedly fine restaurant. Seating is cramped and the servers were exhausted and unknowledgeable of their menus. $300 down the drain for a wasted and botched date night complete with immediate indigestion. A disaster. This place is smoke and mirrors. Stay away. Try Bond St. Hudson Yards as a better alternative. read more

Met up with a gf here for brunch and boy did I enjoy this place. We had reservations, but wanted to eat/drink at the bar. Luckily a spot opened up and we were able to get seats. My gf showed up earlier and had a huge plate of edamame they just gave us. Let me tell you, it was a hefty serving and the huge, thick sea salt they use to salt them is just wonderful. Understanding they are serving a bunch for people on a Saturday afternoon, but would have been ideal if the salt was disbursed more. However, no need to make a fuss about it. Just take the salt and sprinkle yourself as needed. We got rolls and I got the lobster tempura roll. The seaweed on my roll was a bit stale in my opinion, but the flavor was there. For a lobster moment, the price point was good. Think it was $23? I really wanted Sancre, but they were out so I got the Gruner. It is not a just sip as is moment, but with a roll it had the right acidity. I enjoyed it very much. Just when I was unable to eat anymore, Adrian our bartender/server brought out deviled eggs with caviar on the house. We thought it may have been a mistake, but he said it was for us "just for fun." I enjoyed the response. The vibe is super nice and it has a cozy moment. I will 100% go here whenever I am in Soho getting my hair done or shopping, which is quite rare, but it nice to find a spot in Soho for times when you want to eat and drink around the area. I will say this place is a hidden gem for me. The GM of the place sent an email with a kind note. Not sure if it is system generated, but it was the first time I got a follow up email from a place I had a meal at. Such a nice touch. Will be putting this on my list of places to go to. read more

Oh Lure, what a grand experience!!! After months of Instagram stalking this restaurant, I succumbed and finally decided to see what the hype is all about. I had my eye on it for a while, and was so glad I finally found one of my new favorite restaurants in the city. We made a 9pm reservation for dinner, and hung out at the bar waiting for our table. I enjoyed the lychee martini, while my friend had a dirty martini as well as a margarita. All of the drinks were so good, not too strong and overbearing, with just the right amount of alcohol to sweetness ratio. Upon returning to the front, we waited a little bit to be seated and it was worth the wait! We got the best seats in the restaurant in my opinion, situated towards the back of the restaurant so we could people watch and enjoy the ambiance and view of this lovely establishment. The restaurant is stylized to look like an old ship, and it really does! I think the vibe is so cute and I can definitely imagine returning here again for a birthday party or a cute date! Ambiance, music, service, vibes, everything was on point. We ordered the spicy crispy rice, and sushi platter to start. The crispy rice came out pretty quickly, and it was good but not particularly spicy. I would say that it's mild, texture wise it's soft fish with the rice adding texture since it's similar to a cracker almost. The sushi platter was exceptionally fresh and a great variety is offered to sample all the options. Presentation of the food is definitely an added bonus as everything looks visually appealing and delicious. For mains we got the lobster Mac and cheese and the halibut. The halibut was cooked to perfection, tender yet crispy and it was paired with whipped sweet potatoes, spinach and mushrooms in a butter glaze. All exceptional! The Mac and cheese was somewhat on the saltier side because of the lobster, it tasted almost like the lobster was cured with the salt! If you like a stronger dish, then this is for you. We also order the shrimp tempura special roll which was a standard roll, and always a reliable go to option. For dessert we got the ice cream sandwiches which is a platter of 3 : birthday cake, chocolate chip, and strawberry shortcake. I enjoyed the birthday cake and strawberry shortcake the most, as I have a crazy sweet tooth. The service was great, and our waiter kept asking about our well-being which is always pleasant and friendly. I have nearly no complaints which is shocking coming from myself, but I highly recommend Lure for anyone in the city or looking for a new seafood restaurant! Looking forward to returning! read more

We had the worst possible service here. We reserved a seat outside for safety purposes. They absolutely completely ignored us all night, forgetting entrees, failing to take orders, neglecting us. Then the manager came out to apologize and offered us a bottle of wine (as we were the LAST table due to their errors). He went inside and didn't even come out with the APOLOGY wine! It was abhorrent. We still talk about it as the lowest possible bar by which to measure a restaurant. Luckily, we laugh at it now. But that night, it was extremely disappointing. Service is, quite literally, a joke. read more

I had higher hopes, nothing to write home about. The food was mediocre at best. The service was slow and we went on a Tuesday night (took 45 minutes for my friend's soup to come out). The only thing I liked was the ambiance. And while our waitress was very pleasant, she accidentally brought my friend the wrong drink and we were still charged for it even though it was taken back/not drank. We didn't notice the charge till the next day, so that's on us but you would expect better from a restaurant like this. read more

This seafood spot is located right in the heart of soho. They have a very nautical themed interior which is great for groups and during COVID they have erected outdoor booths as well. For the food, they have a big selection of seafood dishes ranging from oysters to sushi to lobster rolls. One standout was the crispy tuna crackers which were sooo good. Would absolutely recommend. We also tried some of the rolls and the kale and kohlrabi ceasar salad (which you can skip). The fish tasted really fresh and good quality. The only big downside of this place is the prices! But frankly it's not surprising given the soho location. Overall, a very nice place to go for lunch with a group of friends. read more

Good fresh seafood and well crafted cocktails; space is very cool (designed to feel like inside of a boat) but a bit noisy because no sound absorbing materials - all wood, no carpet; our waitress was good at beginning but lost interest in us once she realized we wouldn't be her biggest spending table of the night. read more

10/10 ...soooo good! what i truly appreciated about Lure is that the food was properly seasoned. The clam chowder was exceptional with awesome flavor and big chunks of all the ingredients. The rolls were beyond and that's what's definitely going to have us coming back. the tacos were out of this world, too. The service was really nice, aside from the hostess outside that was going to turn us away before even asking us if we had a reservation but we let that go and tried to not let it ruin our night, and we're glad that we did because we wouldn't have found this gem and ultimately have the urge to come back again soon! the vibe inside is very chic and it looks like you're in the bottom of a very characteristic yacht lounge. Great service! It was a full house Wednesday night and my water was always full! The Otoro handroll was just okay - I feel like for the price I paid (around $20) the Otoro should have been better. The bucatini pasta with uni was AMAZING - that being said the pasta itself was amazing but I received the smallest bit of uni and you should really just eat the uni itself because the pasta will definitely overpower the uni flavor haha - uni was also just okay. My boyfriend got the lobster roll and he thought it was pretty good - but I actually thought it was okay too lol Was originally going to give this place 4 stars but realized I kept saying how okay everything was - but my pasta really was AMAZING. Would definitely come back to try other things because the menu is pretty large! read more

Really great experience for dinner on a Monday night. The entire staff from the maitre d to the waiters and busboys was attentive and courteous, anticipating our needs without being overbearing. Hip and cool ambiance, filled with fashionable and trendy customers (no business suits here). The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is that the food was good, but not exceptional. I didn't like how they served oysters with toppings already on them, preventing you from tasting the subtle flavors of the oyster itself. The tuna tacos were crispy but unremarkable, and the New England clam chowder leaned too heavily on the bacon. The sea urchin bucatini was likewise OK. read more

So, I came here with my Sister, her Husband and her two daughters to have lunch. The place is has a nautical theme where it feels like we're in a boat. For an experience with kids, this place was great! Service: The staff was very attentive and suggested food timing (kids food ASAP). They checked up on us regularly and was very patient with us. Food: I didn't order so I didn't get what I actually wanted, but what was ordered was great. The kids food, Chicken Strips and fries was tasty. My Sister's husband ordered a Seafood Tower which was tasty, with other appetizers. All in all, I liked it. I'll definitely return to try stuff that I want to try, as I've had a great experience as a guest of my Sister's family. read more

Holy. Lord. In. Heaven. What a great experience. The food was amazing. I love sushi but this place takes it the next level. We had rolls, sushi tartar and a few single pieces of toro. All of the food was really delicious. The cocktails are great - I had a some cucumber vodka thing. Pretty delicious. Then, because it was a celebration, I had some MacCallen. And it was the perfect compliment. Jacob was a great waiter! So attentive, helpful and professional. All of the service was really great. Everything is super expensive. But you're in soho and it's a stellar experience.Can't take off any stars for the price, you know what you're getting into. This place is so amazing and I am a big fan. read more

The oysters were delicious and the outdoor space is fantastic. I had lunch on 5/30 I sat on the sunny side of the outdoor space. I had a lovely lunch in the beautiful outdoor space and soaked up the sun and drank some sparkling water. It was a beautiful sunny day in NYC and lunch at Lure made it a perfect afternoon. read more

Came here for girls night out dinner and it also happens to be restaurant week! How awesome is that! Well we had an amazing time here. The waiters were friendly the food was delicious. The food! We had the west coast oysters. kushi and Kama Moto oysters. I liked both but the kushi oysters were sweeter. We had gotten a bottle of Syrah/Cabernet to share. We had gotten the steak cooked medium rare and from the restaurant week menu we got the tuna tartar, the seafood fra diavolo and the chocolate mousse dessert. The steak was cooked perfectly. The tuna tartar was delicious and fresh, the seafood pasta had a lot of flavor and the dessert was delicious. We inhaled everything. read more

We sat for 2 hours waiting for our food. We were then told it was on the house because it was taking so long because the kitchen lost our original ticket. We were told to wait 30 more minutes. After the 30 minutes turned into 45 minutes we asked again, where is the food and our waiter told us he cancelled it because it had been so long. So we sat at this restaurant under the impression we were being fed for 3 hours and the staff didn't have the class to do anything. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurants ability to care about its customers. If only Yelp had negative stars. Will never take my family or clients here again. read more

Don't book a reservation here unless you want to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. I came in on time to my reservation starving and was told I needed to wait for other people to be seated in front of me. And so I waited..: and waited... They probably over book and hope people will wait. Bad business. read more

Great place for dinner...ambiance and décor make it feel like you are on a cruise ship. From the port hole windows outside looking in, to the shape of the ceiling looking like a boat. Great service for the evening. Note: they will not seat you til your entire party arrives, so don't be late when you make reservations. Came here for winter restaurant week - the regular menu looks good too. My friends and I tried the Kenai roll and tuna tartare appetizers - both were delicious. Main course: Miso glazed salmon with snap peas and mushrooms. Added side of roasted brussel sprouts. Delicious! Had the lychee martini - strange that it was made with gin instead of vodka...strange tasting..prefer vodka instead. Will have to try another drink next time. "I Christen Thee, The Flying Wasp" Walking down the steps, I didn't know what to expect from Lure Fishbar. Once inside the space, its like you stepped onto a yacht. Blond curved woods are throughout this nautical themed restaurant. The menu is substantial, there are so many things I'd like to try but I'm here on a mission. I've had the Bash Burger bookmarked for so long, its time the both of us met. Before we ordered, my cousin ordered a lobster bisque soup. Not to be outdone, I get my New England on and ordered the New England Clam Chowder as well as a Lobster Beer from Maine. The clam chowder was loaded with full clam belies and potatoes. I hate New England Clam Chowder that the pieces are so small you have to search for them with every spoonful. This is not the case wth the soup being served at Lure Fishbar. The soup came to me, piping hot and very fresh. They're really living up to their Fishbar name. Now I'm ready to get bashed. The burger comes to the table. Topped with two onion rings and a side of french fries. I had to ask, are these fries cooked in duck fat? Fries normally evaluate the burger meal, that burger was the star of the show. The fries to me were secondary to my new burger champ. And the onion rings? The coating wasn't weak, it was a nice addition to the burger. The burger creation from chef Josh Capon, I understand why it won the Popular Vote at the Burger Bash. The Pat La Frieda beef patty, made from premium Pat La Frieda beef is topped with caramelized onion and bacon jam. The bun? A sesame seeded, Big Marty's potato bun. Chef Capon has a special sauce topped with pickles, it is a creation of a simple roadside California burger but it's chef'ed up with some amazing ingredients. Are you with me so far? After I finished, I said damn that was a pretty incredible burger. I get it now. Minetta Tavern has a black label burger with a Pat La Frieda beef patty. This is a different meat blend and a different style burger altogether. In the end, It made my top 5 burger list. If you haven't tried the Bash Burger, by all means you have to come to Lure Fishbar and try this burger. Highly recommended. read more

Mediocre food in a swanky setting. I was excited to go out to Lure and would have been happy to pay $400 if the food had been good. It was solid 3-star neighborhood joint food. We got oysters, crispy rice sushi (hard, overfried), a sushi & sashimi combo, and several salads (they all tasted the same) and appetizers. Alas, my friends were disappointed, which made it not as fun a night out as we hoped. The deep dish cookie dessert was actually tasty--the cookie dough was totally raw but I think that was on purpose? Not sure. read more

I got the crispy sushi rice as an app- i recommend the blue crab and uni!!! SO GOOD!! For my entree I got the SHAZAM ROLL Yellowtail, Salmon, Avocado, Kewpie Mayo, Wasabi Tobiko $21. I was really surprised on how fresh and delicious everything was. Usually sushi doesn't impress me but I really enjoyed the roll!! The fish was def fresh and every bite had flavor. Came here for a formal dinner with a group of friends. Pros - execution of dishes were delicious. Cons - definitely on the pricey side. We started off with the seafood tower, Royale size. It was fine. For $140 split between 4 people, I personally didn't find it worth it. I then got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Steak tartare. Both were delicious. The lobster mac and cheese was super cheesey with aldente pasta. Plenty of lobster bits in it. The steak tartare was fresh, nicely chopped and seasoned well. I also tried the Nori Crusted Tuna. I usually don't like to order tuna at restaurants unless it is sushi but when I tried my boyfriend's, I found it delicious! I would order it again. The tuna tasted fresh and was nicely portioned. It was on a bed of garlic fried rice and that was amazing. I really liked the rice. We ended the meal with their key lime pie which was also very good, especially since I am not a fan of key lime, I still really liked it. It has a cream texture and the key lime wasn't overpowering, perfect balance between sweet and sour. Overall, it was a really good meal. A bit pricey but can't really escape it from a seafood restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, like the interior of a fancy yacht and the service was really nice. read more

After a few years, I moved to a smaller firm with Southern roots, where the culture was more humane, the work gave me greater autonomy, and I produced some of the strongest results of my career, even within an industry still governed by fear, greed, and status. Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. One of those ideas consumed an extraordinary amount of my time and energy, and I believed it might become the foundation of my next chapter. Instead, the arrangement eventually turned on me, the role I thought I had earned never materialized, and the business itself sputtered. My professional life, financial footing, and pride all collapsed just as COVID was beginning. Then Monkey Bar closed in 2020, which made the ending feel almost unnervingly complete: the restaurant, the city, and the version of myself built around New York finance all went dark at once. Even now, I remember Monkey Bar as a great Midtown lunch in a memorable room, surrounded by the residue of old ambitions and the gratitude of having survived them. The cocktails were sharp, the service was impeccable, and the dining room carried that glamorous old New York energy without feeling trapped by it. I remain deeply fond of the place, partly for what it was and partly for what it witnessed. Some restaurants become attached to a chapter of your life, and Monkey Bar holds mine with unusual grace.

It's one of those places where you can truly relax, enjoy great conversation, and soak in a bit of New York's history at the same time. The pan fried noodle- normally a favorite in Chinese restaurants. This didn't hit its marks. There wasn't much noodles. The outer brim wasn't crispy. And it was a lot of sauce. The protein was scarce. And they had more veggies than protein. We were a table of 5 including a 6 year old. And everybody left full. And satisfied.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fabulous seafood restaurant located in the heart of Soho, New York. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the inviting ambiance. The restaurant exuded a trendy and sophisticated vibe, perfect for a night out. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Von, who provided exceptional service throughout our dining experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel well taken care of. We were promptly seated at a clean table in a cozy corner, just outside the bustling bar area. The menu offered a wide variety of seafood options, and we were delighted by the recommendations. The standout dish of the evening was the salmon. It was cooked to perfection, with a delicate balance of flavors that truly showcased the quality of the seafood. To complement our meal, Thomas suggested a bottle of wine, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover that on Sundays, the restaurant offers a 30% discount on all bottles of wine. It was a lovely added bonus that enhanced our dining experience. In addition to the outstanding seafood options, the restaurant also catered to different palates. Went for restaurant week - overall the experience was enjoyable, the atmosphere was great, but otherwise it was fairly unremarkable. The food was tasty, but not the best I've had in the city by a long shot. The Food - Tuna tartare appetizer - the fish was fresh and the dish came together in a very tasty way Konai roll - extremely average, could have gotten it at the sushi place across the street from my apartment and not noticed a difference Salmon with snap peas and mushrooms - perfectly cooked but extremely plain/bland. None of the flavors popped or stood out as being particularly amazing but the salmon was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I personally liked that the vegetables weren't too oily, seemed healthier than I was expecting. Crusted tuna - probably the best dish, the flavor was bold and delicious and the rice was perfectly cooked (not too sticky and had a good flavor) Sorbet - pretty sure the raspberry one was Haagen daaz, the others were unremarkable but fine Chocolate mousse - tasty, rich and fairly unremarkable. The best part of dessert was the little biscotti/cookie that was served with the espresso - it was warm and slightly soft from being freshly baked, it was maybe the best part of the entire meal. Portion sizes in general were generous, larger than I was expecting given RW but not so much that you'd have leftovers. Just the right amount! The Service - Not sure the waiter actually spoke to us (there was a service switch right after we placed our order and the person who took over did not interact with us other than to give us the check), but the water was refilled every 30 seconds by a bus boy so we got both a lot of attention and none all at the same time. The Vibe - This was the best part for sure. The yacht vibe and the lighting was very romantic and relaxing, loved it. Recommend on this point alone for a date night. The $ - Definitely worth it for RW, but would not feel the same if I had received the same meal at normal cost. RW cost is reasonable for the value. read more

3.5 Stars I like the concept for Lure, it's like you're walking onto a yacht. However, it is a bit dark and dingy. Wood panneled walls, dark chairs, the ceilings are quite low, the windows are up high so you really look at the feet of people as you are passing by. White tablecloths and candles on the table. I went with three friends and this is what we ordered: Cocktails... 1) Strawberry Mojito...Typical Mojito...nothing overly special. 2) Lychee Martini...The cucumber was a nice touch. 3) Prickly Pear Margarita...They seem a little stingy on the tequila. 4) Dulce Caliente...Very tasty. Just the right amount of spice. Appetizers... 1) Fluke Carpaccio...not too bad, but I don't really like the pumpkin seed oil in theis dish. 2) Grilled Spanish Octopus...It was ok. Octopus was a little too rubbery for me. 3) Baked Clams...These are CLAMS...why would you charge $16 for SIX of them? 4) Lobster Croutons...very good, nice and garlicy. The Sour dough was good, but only four little pieces. Entrees... 1) Sauteed Branzino...Good. Prepared well, however I have had better. 2) Pan Roasted Salmon...Delicious. The fingerling potatoes were prepared properly, the Chanterelles were very good and the Mustard Beurre Blanc was quite good. 3) Steamed Red Snapper...The curry broth gave this a lot of flavor. 4) Nori Crusted Tuna...Really enjoyed the garlic fried rice. Nice citrusy flavor. Dessert... 1)Pear and Blackberry Almond Crumble. Very good. Ice cream was delicious. 2) Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie...AWESOME! Peanut Butter Ice Cream and a Chocolate covered pretzel. YUM. All in all it was an ok dinner, really not worthy of the price we paid. read more

My partner and I were staying in Soho and needed somewhere badly to eat Sunday brunch: the most important meal of the week for both us. I also wanted to eat seafood and a friend recommended AquaGrill. I'm so glad I took up the suggestion and followed it through. The place was bustling. Front of house was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately for me a bit too efficient: we missed out on a table outside because I had to visit the restrooms while waiting to be seated. Such was the popularity of the restaurant. I got back to find my dining companion had been given a table for two in a corridor to the balcony outside, which is where we wanted to sit. I had to grin and bear it and swore never to do that again in New York. However, my initial grumpiness was more than made up for by our super friendly waiter and the the quality of the food and wine. Cocktails were great. And the seafood was simply superb! We left the place a couple of hours later feeling very happy and will definitely return on our next visit to Manhattan. We started off with a martini and bloody Mary. Followed by 12 Wellfleet oysters and ceviche; followed by fettuccine and Shrimp salad, washed down with an excellent bottle of Voignier. Desert comprised two peace satin and a glass of Red Tokai. We fished with two double espressos. the bill came to $276 + tip. Really good value. read more

My fiancée and I had the pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Lure Fishbar, and it was truly a memorable evening from start to finish. We kicked things off with their signature oyster selection--Beau Soleil, Blue Point, Kusshi, and Kumamoto. Each one was fresh, briny, and beautifully presented, setting the tone for the rest of the meal. For our main course, we shared the Branzino. The dish had a fantastic texture with perfectly crispy skin and a lovely citrus finish. While we enjoyed the overall execution, we felt it could have used just a bit more depth in flavor to really elevate the dish--but that's more a personal preference than a critique. The standout for us was the Sea Urchin Bucatini. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the flavor profile was rich and well-balanced. We especially loved the generous portion of crab, though we would've loved just a touch more sea urchin to really showcase its uniqueness. Still, a delicious and thoughtfully prepared dish. To our surprise, the Lure team made our anniversary extra special by presenting us with deviled eggs and their ice cream sandwiches for dessert. A sweet and thoughtful touch that made the night even more memorable. Overall, we had an amazing time and can't wait to come back to explore more of the menu. Lure fishbar is a wonderful restaurant! We came here for restaurant week and we left quite impressed. The first thing you notice when you enter is the creative decor. The interior is made to look like the inside of a yacht, and the attention to detail is so good that you might actually think that you're in a real boat (minus the swaying, of course!) Make sure to wear your best khakis and navy blazer when you come here ;) The service was warm and friendly. Our server was sweet and helpful throughout the meal. For the food, we got the shrimp tempura appetizer and the tuna tartare. The shrimp was well cooked and though not with the classic tempura batter, it had a delicious spicy mayo dressing on it. The tuna tartare was nice and fresh with a few pieces of crostini on the side to add a bit of crunch. For the entree, we got the nori crusted tuna and the sushi platter. The tuna was nicely cooked and the crust was good, but the rice it came on was delicious! perfectly seasoned and a great accompaniment to the fish. The sushi too was nice and fresh. Overall, the food was well done, but one complaint is that the fish was somewhat lacking depth in flavor. But overall high marks for the ambiance, service and even the food overall. A 'special occasion' place for sure. read more

The maitre d' needs to be fired. A group of our friends went in for happy hour--and were happily, politely, stylishly (whatever) sipping reasonably good cocktails at a table in the bar area when a waitress came by to ask us to get up from the table so that she could seat someone there. "Sure, no problem," we said, gathering our coats, but then she reneged--"Oh, you know, never mind." We continued to sit, knowing we would soon have to get up, no big deal. UNTIL a very scary man in a grey suit came over and started Yelling--actually yelling at us about the fact that we were seated at a table with a reserved sign on it. We offered no resistance except to his appalling rudeness, and yet he kept yelling, to the point where even the retiring southern girl in our midst lost her cool. His treatment of us was so bad that we thought he must be a drunken diner who wanted to sit down... No. He was the maitre d'. The manager, alterted to this fiasco, apologized profusely, even chasing us down the street to buy us champagne at the other restaurant where we decided to have dinner. Thank you, great manager, but the only thing that would remedy this problem would be firing the monster at the front door. read more

Great happy hour. Love the lollipops, and the shrimp tempura is to die for. The drinks are priced really affordable for Soho. So for the food and drinks and atmosphere I give four stars. Usually the bar staff is great. I've seen the same faces, which are mostly friendly women. However, when I was back in town last week, got there just before happy hour and a new staff member who I did not recognize was behind the bar. A guy who seemed very flustered and was not friendly at all and seemed unhappy to be there, I could barely get his attention. He was too busy yapping with who I found out later was the new GM between his moments of fluster. Neither seemed to notice me, which surprised me, after being treated so well here every other time. That put a damper on the start of my happy hour, but then pretty girl who I have seen there a number of times arrived shortly after and was very warm and welcoming. Maybe the guy was having a bad day, but leave the bad day at the door. Excellent food, excellent happy hour prices for Soho, usually excellent staff. Avoid the dude with the tude, wait or ask for the pretty girl (s). read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lure Fishbar and I have to say, it was an absolutely amazing sushi lunch experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the pleasant ambience of the restaurant. The decor was modern and elegant, creating the perfect atmosphere for a delicious meal. The food itself was absolutely scrumptious. I have to give a special shout-out to the spicy tuna roll, it was so good that I had to order another one! The shrimp tempura was also a standout dish, with a crispy exterior and succulent shrimp inside. We ordered a bunch of rolls to share with the table, and every single one of them was absolutely delicious. But perhaps the best part of the meal was the service. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure that everything was perfect and that we had a great experience. The oysters during HH are now $1.50?? Regardless, still a great place for HH. It's definitely more of a food happy hour destination rather than drink HH destination since the drinks are on the pricier end of things at $8. That being said, the dark and stormy was pretty strong and well worth it. As for the food, here it goes: Oysters - small, briny, perfectly shucked with no shell debris. Definitely could be sweeter and plumper, but I think that's because that's the way this type is Fried oysters - perfectly fried served on top of a slaw on top of their shell. Perfect single bite Fried calamari - pass Shrimp tempura - basically fried rock shrimp, this was just okay Lobster croutons - perfectly toasted crouton with lobster meat on top, I wish more came to an order! Chicken lollipops - I loved fried chicken wings so this was a hit with me. Well fried and slid cleanly off the bone. Went here with a GF on a Tues night. Make reservations, we were both surprised at how busy it was. The decor, modeled after the inside of a Yacht is very cute. It is a bit loud as the tables are situated probably closer together than they should be for this type of restaurant. Service is good. Efficient and friendly w/o being overbearing. For appetizers we ordered the special which were lobster sliders. They were OK, the bun was the best part about it, the lobster salad itself inside was not amazing. We ordered the fluke ceviche which I liked a lot. It wasn't as tart as your peruvian ceviche, made with grapes it was sweet and refreshing. The jalapeno yellowtail roll was also good. The entree we ordered came split on two dishes which was nice. They had a scallop special which they should add to their menu because it was delicious! Overall really nice experience. Good food, not cheap, but worth the $$ for the quality and service. Def will stop here next time I'm hungry in SoHo. read more

Disappointed to say that this place did not live up to expectations or past experiences. It was too noisy, the service was beyond slow, and more importantly, my entree was terrible. I shared my entree, a pasta and seafood dish, and both of us ended up getting sick to our stomach and I was left with a migraine. I was so upset about the experience that I called them to notify them, to which they asked if I went to the hospital or saw a doctor, if not, they hoped I would come back and have a better experience another time. First off this was a first for me in terms of getting sick at what is perceived as a high-caliber restaurant, and secondly, their response. All in all, this place is not worth it - too expensive for mediocre food at best - and be warned about getting sick to your stomach based on some past reviews, this has happened before. read more

Who says you need to be at sea to be on a boat? I loved this place! Went here for Saturday brunch with a good friend, and we had a blast. I imagine this is what dining on cruise ship would feel like. The portholes made for a realistic experience. We both ordered the Equinox, which was pretty much the healthiest brunch you could have. We ordered a side of sausage to go with it since the platter didn't include meat. The egg white omelet with spinach was delish, but the toast was slightly too dry. The service was good, but definitely could have been a bit more friendly. In their defense, it was brunch and it was crowded but it still felt like there was something missing. When you walk in, you feel like you're almost on a cruise ship, which is much different than most NYC places. I came for brunch by myself, and got seated at a booth by the bar. I went through the menu and tried a plethora of items, as I was intrigued. I started off with the Dynamite roll, which was one of my favorite sushi rolls in the city (get it without Tobiko) then moved to the omelette, which was delicious. I followed up with their Bash Burger and a side of onion rings, which was so juicy and tender, that I could see why they won the award. Still with a bit of a sweet tooth, I tried their birthday cake for 2 (even though it was just me) and the presentation with the candle made me laugh. We visited Lure over the Christmas vacation while on holiday in NYC. We had (five kids with us (3,6,8,12 and 15 years old). We went for lunch and had a spectacular meal. The chef visited our table and asked each of the kids what they like. We ended up with two kinds of oysters, sashimi tuna, tuna tartar, mussels and burgers among other things. Our kids are strange in that they love this food. We were made to feel welcome and the flavor profiles were incredible. The interior is like an upscale yacht (is there any other kind) as it is located in the basement. You feel like you are inside a ship. It is really beautiful. Met my friends for their amazing happy hour on Tues. and could not believe how many great snacks they offered! Cocktails were fun and delicious; half of us couldn't resist and stayed to have dinner too! Our fun/helpful waitress also told us to try their steaks (bc one friend hates fish) and we all had to to try his Jalapeño Steak bc it was so juicy! The rest of us enjoyed sushi and their House Roll was the winner with shrimp and spicy tuna! All in all it was amazing: classy decor, creative drinks, delicious food, and cannot rave enough about the friendly staff! Manager even came by to say hello (nice touch!) I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was a fantastic choice! The place is spacious and has a unique interior designed to resemble the inside of a ship. Known for its seafood, the food did not disappoint. * Deviled Eggs: Surprisingly good! I don't usually go for deviled eggs, but these were well done. * Salmon Tiradito: Amazing--an absolute must-try! It's topped with jalapeños for a nice, subtle kick. * Tuna Tacos: Good, but not particularly memorable; I could have skipped these. * Branzino St. Tropez: Delicious!
