Driving by Ktown and feeling hungry! Remembered that I have this place on my list so I hit it! Glad I did! It's located mid block on Wilshire with plenty of valid parking in the back. The fine in is in the second floors d elevator and stairs are both available! I didn't make a reservation but it was Sunday at five so none peak hour! Seated right away! Perfect for a special occasion. The food was not only amazing but the service was exceptional. The workers were constantly stopping by and we never had to wait for meat. They don't bring out all the different cuts of meat so you do have to request some but it's not a long wait. The star of the show was definitely the warm, cinnamon glazed pineapple. I want to start this review with I love this place. Carlos takes care of us every single time we come in. My boyfriend has been coming here for years and celebrates birthdays here. We thought wow, a Valentine's Day at M Grill would be awesome! So we get to the restaurant at 8:45p. Online it says they close at 9p so I wasn't sure if we'd have time to eat but they guaranteed we'd be ok. Me and my boyfriend were having a lovely Valentine's day conversation and I really only got to eat a garlic pichana and my pineapple.... Now I'm all for rush eating but I wasn't even informed on last call.... It felt like the meats were coming out pretty quickly so I was a little confused. Then they brought out dessert and the associates let us know that we can't order any more meats...... So in conclusion I spent over $100 for 2 pieces of steak and 2 pieces of pineapple, for Valentine's Day. Didn't really get much out of it, we called the manager over and he couldn't really do much. I really didn't want to spend $100 but had to. All in all it was probably one of the worst Valentine's Days I've had when normally it's pretty calm, cool, collected and full of delicious food. Deeeeelicious. Came here to celebrate my 25th (thank you bf). Decor was quite fancy. I've tried Brazilian bbq once some time ago but it was my first time at M grill. Service was not the best, we were briefed at the beginning on how service will be done, flip the card to show green and the meat / food will be served continuously, but it was not like that (I do know there is a wait time for them to come), but we have to wait for the next meat to be served at our table as if waiting for your check to be given to you, we have been bypassed by servers bringing the meat to table just right beside us, and we even have to ask the servers to bring the meat to us and at some point we have to ask 2-3 times before they came to our table. I choose this restaurant for my daughter's birthday and also to bring my mom to experience the bbq / meat but very disappointing to not just them but to all of us. We didn't come with our fancy clothes, our fancy shoes and fancy bags, we came in with decent clothes but we were treated as second class citizens, very frustrating. My only complaint is getting the meat that you actually want to your table but other than that it was a fun experience since this was my first time to an all you can eat Brazilian place. I didn't care for the table we got but I just came for the food. The wine list here is excellent. We came here for my birthday and I was quite excited since im pregnant and all I want is meat! They had some good Parmesan meat that I truly enjoyed! They were also very kind to help me get my meat more on the well done side. I didn't enjoy all their meats for the price we were getting it for. I expected more quality for the price but it was just like other Brazilian joints for half the price! They had flavors like the Parmesan garlic that you won't get anywhere else but to pay double the price just to get that..: hmmm maybe not. Their salad bar was just ok. NOTHing extra ordinary either. What made my the saddest was their cheese bread!!!!!! It wasn't even good!!! Nothing wow about it at all! I think Trader Joe's made better ones. I'll give them an extra star for their pineapple tho! So good!!! Service was ok. Had to ask for water a few times and certain meats a few times. Also giving them an extra star for checking vaccination cards!!!! came here for my sister and niece's birthday and it was absolutely phenomenal. service was so great with meats consistently being served, along with it being well seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY every single round. our server was very kind and helpful throughout our experience. the bartender on shift was also very insightful as far as tequila and whiskey recommendations. they recommended us komos which was the first time my siblings and i had it and it was soooo smooth, better than 1942. definitely have to come back! read more

M grill is a hidden gem in K town. I've been taking my man (now fiance) for the past few years for his birthday. It's his top request. When you drive there, don't let the surroundings fool you. After you go through their valet and go up the elevators of a strip mall-- there is a huge, chic Brazilian steakhouse inside. Service has always been amazing and even after reopening after closing for COVID this fall, the staff remains with stellar service. They are always checking if we are doing good and ask if there are any meats that we haven't had yet that we still want to try. If you're new, the process is basically servers come with different meats to your table. You get a card on the table to indicate to the servers if you want more meat or if you're taking a break. There's a salad bar that has a variety of things from quinoa to shrimp cocktail and veggies. My #1 here will be their special grilled pineapple with cinnamon -- yum! read more

Came here earlier in the evening and I was super disappointed. My family and I would frequent M Grill pre-Covid and during Covid when M Grill offered out door seating. I am mainly disappointed with the indoor dining and meat service. 1. Health and safety should be their number one priority however I feel that it's not for M Grill. We were seated and instructed to wear our masks when we leave our table, however I saw plenty of guests walking to the salad bar serving themselves without their masks on. There were workers that were standing in suits, who appeared to be supervisors(?), but didn't say anything to those who were unmasked. There were signs that were up "...wear masks even if vaccinated or unvaccinated" but c'mon. If no one is enforcing the sign, then the sign is useless. This was terribly disappointing to observe. Covid protocols seemed to be more enforced when they offered outdoor dining. Needless to say, I did not feel comfortable dining indoors. 2. I cannot believe how SLOW the meat service was tonight. When we were seated we were told that we had a 90 minute limit. It took them 15 minutes to serve us out first piece of meat. And another 15 minutes to serve our 2nd piece. I believe it was their way of having us eat at the salad bar first so we don't eat that much meat. After 30 minutes is when the meet would come in every 8-10 minute intervals. One at a time mind you. I thought this was really unfair, the restaurant trying to cheat/trick us. I get it, they are trying to make money. But still, good things do not some to those who cheat/trick people. We only saw our server once. She never came back to check on us. When paying with a credit card your tipping options are: no tip, 18%, 20%, 25%. There is no option to add your own tip. Again, M Grill tricking their customers on tipping. Needless to say, I will not be back here for awhile. Mainly because they do not have any COVID-19 protocol endorsement. Good luck! read more

Delicious food! Great service. People always came by to ask if you wanted the meat they were offering. This got a little annoying because we clearly had our cards on RED, indicating we didn't want meat at the moment, but they still came over and ask, interrupting conversations. The food is delicious though. I've been coming here over the years, but have been going to another Brazilian Steakhouse in DTLA. I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was something else. It was my first time with a group of friends. To be fair, at least half the staff were cool and accommodating, but there were some bad apples that ruined the experience. One of the waiters came over with meat, didn't even wait for me to grab a tong, and began cutting the meat all to drop it straight on to my shoe. Not only did he not apologize or pick up the meat, but looked at me like he's pissed off. Confusing interaction to say the least. Our main waiter, however, did notice meat on the floor and picked it up 20-30 minutes later. I was definitely irked at the interaction, but chose to let it go figuring the guy might be having a bad day and in the end it was just meat to the shoe. Later in the night, another guy came with an inappropriately aggressive attitude and commanded us to grab the tong and grab it a certain way. In terms of the service, I felt like I was accommodating them and not the other way around. Overall, meat was nothing noteworthy (under seasoned, over seasoned, overcooked, you name it). Salad bar was a highlight, but none of us come to a steakhouse to eat salads right? As a whole, M grill was fine dining only in price & appearance, but the food and service left much to be desired and if anything would be garbage even at a $30 price point (final bill was $127 each). If you love baffling service, mediocre food, and a high price point definitely check them out. You won't be disappointed :) But if I were you, I'd take your money and time elsewhere. read more

This restaurant was included in Dine LA so I checked it out. The entrance to the restaurant was a bit confusing. It was located at the back of the building, you can use the stairs or the elevator. As soon as you walked in there were chairs lined up for guests who are waiting for their table. Everyone was wearing their face masks, except for the people who were eating and drinking. There was no Dine LA menu. We paid over $115 per person and this includes three glasses of wine. It is a bit pricey even if it's for Dine LA. You have to wear a mask when you go to the buffet. The food selections were not that great. When it comes to their meat, some were quite tough and most of them were bland. I did enjoy that one condiment. They have this spicy sauce on the table, which I enjoyed a lot. I also liked their cheese ball bread and the grilled pineapple. The servings for their wine were pretty off. The amount of wine you get in a glass is the same amount I get when I do wine tastings. The price for glass was pricey. Service needs to be improved. We waited for quite sometime before the servers with the grilled meat approached us. Our main server was great. She made sure our drinks are filled up. Parking is expensive for valet. I had to write this review tonight, as my 30th birthday dinner was NOT one to remember. I chose M Grill after searching for a good restaurant to celebrate my birthday in LA. After finding M Grill and seeing the great reviews, I decided to give it a shot! My family and I had been talking about it for weeks and were excited about our upcoming dinner. The dinner started overall on a positive note. The valet was AMAZING. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, most of the servers were great, and the food was pretty tasty. The evening began to take a turn after my husband had tried to ask one of the servers for picanha, just to have the waiter turn away and ignore his request. After this interaction, the same waiter would act exasperated whenever visiting our table. Thankfully, our waitress and the other staff came by our table to ask if we wanted anything else. It was at this point that I requested their special parmesan chicken for my grandma who really enjoyed it. This meat was special request only, but nowhere on the menu did it state approximately how long it would take. After waiting about 15 minutes, we decided to ask again about it. Not once did anyone mention how long it takes to cook, or give us any expectation, so we assumed it was forgotten. Unfortunately for us, the same waiter with the attitude finally decided to come by with the chicken. He also decided to let us know that there were now three orders of chicken cooking, and blamed us for causing the backup. He literally told us to stop asking about it, putting the blame on us rather than considering all the operational points of contact that could have prevented the backup from happening. This interaction was a horrible way to end my birthday dinner. What I expected to be a fun evening with my loved ones turned into an upsetting night with an unprofessional staff member. While the rest of the staff and management tried to apologize on his behalf, the interaction was horrible enough that I would not want anyone else to have their birthday ruined. read more

The good thing about M Grills location is it's located inside a shopping center that offers valet parking for only $4. They have a smaller buffet area for cold dishes such as salads and small appetizers before the gentlemen with the meat skewers show up to your table. They had a wagu beef special the night I was there and the meat was so tender and juicy. The garlic shrimp was also cooked perfectly. Their meats were on point and the ambiance is very whimsical and romantic. I almost forgot to mention the best part is their grilled sweet cinnamon pine apple. I am so happy to finally have came to this restaurant, it's been deep in my favorites on yelp for the longggest time. We came here to celebrate my promotion and I couldn't have asked for it any other way. I want to start off with the service here, the waitress who helped us out was so nice and sweet. Not a bad thing at all, but the meats were super hot and came out fresh. I was impressed with the meat selection and all of them were seasoned well or super flavor full. We tried every beef and by far quality. One of my favorites was the filet mignon.. it felt like the meat just melts in your mouth. I loved that one forsure haha. Ribeye, picanha, short ribs, costelao, and the sausages were THE BEST. If you want to meat to taste even better, go to the salad bar and grab some chimichurri. You'll thank me later. We didn't get to try any chickens because we were here for the BEEF! The salad bar is another zone. Don't get too carried away here, you'll get full and forget that there is beef. I loved that they served rice and I enjoyed the plantains. That gives it the Brazilian vibe and culture. Save the salad, bologne, cheese for some other time lol. Our reservation was for 5:30 (right at open; we were a few minutes late!), and we had meat on our plate by 5:45, so very reasonable! You do get treated like a celebrity if you are the first ones in the restaurant; very attentive service! The grilled pineapple is a lifesaver; somehow it makes you more hungry as you eat it. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, with huge windows on one side of the dining room! Gorgeous views for sunset.
