My daughter took me here today for breakfast. I have been up and down this street so many times and never knew this restaurant was here. What a relaxing place, so clean and cute. The service was great, the waiter was tentative. The Chilaquiles breakfast was tasteful. You could taste the sprinkled cinnamon on the tortilla chips, I really didn't like the cinnamon taste on them. The chorizo was good and the salsa was good too. It had atwist not your typical chilaquiles. We also enjoyed the Blackstone Benedict tasted very delicious. $60+ for breakfast for two? Hmm. I'm kind of done with this restaurant . I have been to this location multiple times for both breakfast and lunch. It is generally OK most of the time. Lunch burgers have been very good when I have had them. However, breakfast has been disappointing lately. I ordered the signature breakfast, as did my companion. Each of us had different items on our plate, but I can say with relative confidence that neither one of us were entirely satisfied. We both asked for the eggs over medium and got them over easy. You might not think this is a big deal, but when you do over easy, it's quite often possible for the interior to still be overly runny. The yolk isn't the problem, it's the egg white. Runny egg whites underneath a quickly set exterior can be kind of gross. The pancakes were rubbery, the potatoes were dry. The single slice of sourdough toast was really hard, the bacon was chewy, and the grits didn't have as much flavor as they have had in the past, as well as being served cold in their little cup. Now the cold is what really stood out. This is an indication that the food had been setting out for a while. I don't know what's going on and it wasn't necessarily the case this time, but the last time we went there for lunch, a lot of attention was being paid to to-go orders to the detriment of in-house diners. read more

Nice, relaxing and cozy outdoor cafe (especially during covid) style spot. Due to this I assume I got a car space out the front. Service was decent and the food arrived in a good time. My research online beforehand showed more salad options than was in the menu upon arrival - maybe reduced due to covid? The more concise salad options led me to the dark side.....and so I ordered the Chicken and Biscuit. The Chicken wasn't big or tasty in itself and really only had the taste of oily batter but the Biscuit and gravy was good. The accompanying Waffle fries were good! The Chicken Pesto Sandwich was tasty. Presentation was overall good. Prices are ok although I wouldn't get the Chicken and Biscuit again for $14. read more

I've visited this location often, either through online ordering to-go or in-person. The food is always served top quality, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. My go-to is the Hemingway benedict. Service is causal, but wait-staff is friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant has motivational quotes posted all throughout the wall, with relaxing music being played, and clean eating spaces. It is a bit small, but there is outside seating. Personally, I don't like the sound of loud cars when eating outside. If you're looking for a delicious meal, this is the place to try (especially, for breakfast). read more

This is prototype of what's wrong with these kitsch breakfast and lunch spots. They over promise and under deliver. The menu seems like it's going to rock with churro French toast and chorizo breakfast sandwiches. But all you get is mediocre bland food that is so expensive for what you get you'd think you were at a fine dining establishment. This place is under norms as far as food taste goes. The chorizo sandwich I had was about as appetizing as microwave breakfast sandwich. They charge $7 for a side of bad toast with no butter or jam. The service is also average to disappointing. No silver wear at table had to ask for it. Forgot our cinnamon roll (which looked and tasted like it was out of a microwave.) finally brought it over and said they wouldn't charge us for it but did lol. The server was nice though. It feels like an abandoned warehouse in this place. The ambiance if you want to call it that is reminiscent of a storage shed. The only decent thing I put in my mouth were the home fries. The bill was $140 for all this for three adults and two children. With no alcohol!? We didn't even really order that much. But when the lemonade is $7 the side of bread (2 slices) is $7 it starts to add up. $20 dollars for the chorizo bf sandwich is criminal. McDonald's bf sandwich for $6 bucks blows it out of the water. Avoid if you want good food. The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because our server was nice and I can see room for improvement. But most likely we'll not be coming back. read more

I've been here a couple of times and every time I leave I always say to myself "don't go back" but this time for sure is my last one. I wish I could've given this a higher rating but service was just not there on our first visit. We've been planning to come here for weeks ever since I saw it as a recommendation on Yelp. We finally made the trip out today. We drove over here around close to 11am and noticed the place was PACKED. Usually that's a good sign, right? We were a bit worried that the wait would be too long but I happened to find parking easily in the tiny lot next door. My bf went up to out his name and number down since it was only about a 30 min wait. We waited in the car because it was packed with people outside and nowhere to really sit or wait. To our surprise, we only waited about 10 min till they texted him and said our table was ready. We walked up and what looked like the owner, walked us over to our table way in the back of the cafe. There were 2 other big tables by us, one of which had already been there before us. We sat down and looked at the menu, already knew what to order because we've been eyeing this place for a while now. The waitress took that large table of 8 and didn't even look at us after. About 15-20 min passed until another large table of 6-8 sat down next to us. They IMMEDIATELY got their order taken! The waitress only asked for their drinks but they said they were ready to place their order so they did. About another 10 min pass till she finally stopped to even ask us what we wanted to drink. We ordered our drinks but also ordered our food to avoid more waiting. Drinks came and she never checked on us again till our food came. I had to ask the server bringing out the food for a straw because our waitress was nowhere to be found. It was another good 30 min for our food to finally come out. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious (but also not sure if it's because we were waiting for an hour for our food and we were very hungry). Their sourdough was toasted perfectly, you can taste the butter in every bite AND it came with a side of apple jelly which I've never had till now! It was the perfect balance and went so well with everything. Their potatoes were also cooked really well, perfect crisp. They were basically like thick fries. The eggs were scrambled well too! My bf killed his country fried steak and eggs and loved every bite of it. We both enjoyed our meals but really wish the waitress acknowledged us more. Finally, we were approached by our waitress to see if we were ready for the bill and boxes. We paid with a mobile device and then she was nowhere to be found again! The food here has potential. If only it was made fresh to order. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which unfortunately was microwaved. It is safe to assume if they microwave a breakfast burrito, they microwave a lot, if not most, of their food. The tortilla was stale, as in microwave stale. The potatoes inside were very dry and stale. It is very unfortunate because the actual place is clean, and the service is friendly. Hopefully, they stop taking shortcuts and make their food fresh instead of microwaving old breakfast burritos. I don't recommend this place unless you like microwaved breakfast food. read more

I've come here a great deal of times. And I've found that the food is a 4/10 Ambiance is a 3/10 the decor is something out of a "Karen" handbook. A million quotes written on the walls. It's obnoxious. My last experience is what caused me to want to write a review. While sitting waiting for the food I ordered (I ordered an omelette) I hear from the kitchen. $30 DOLLAR OMELETTE! I asked the server. Was that the owner referring to the omelette I ordered? She said yeah. An omelette comes with three toppings and each additional topping is extra. Not something I put much thought into nor was I too concerned about this. But once he chose to be a smart a** and bellow that. It caused me to sit there while eating and think solely on the amount I was spending on that tiny omelette instead of actually enjoying it. My meal was meant to be peaceful and pleasant. WHY more people don't see how overpriced this place is compared to what you received is beyond me. Especially with the unprofessional customer service they have. This is the email I sent to the owner at least according to the business card I was given. I already know based on the very few replies given to other reviews I'm not expecting much. We just left your restaurant this morning with my son and husband feeling disappointed, taken advantage of AND hungry. When my breakfast came out I knew right away a new cook was in the kitchen. The gravy was yellow and watery - totally looked unappetizing. It was not up to what I thought would be your usual delicious breakfast. Instead the chicken biscuit dish was awful. What made it worse when sharing this with our waitress (more later on that) barely acknowledged with a fake apology and walked away. After a few minutes a man (somebody from the kitchen?) came by to look (for what??!!!) and walked away. I sat with this dish sitting in front of me perhaps they figured I'd get hungry enough to eat it. When did it become the customer who is wrong and should be satisfied with whatever comes out. The other thing which I still can't figure out. The waitress brought my dish along with my husband's while my son waited hungrily for his. While his finally arrived I'm not sure if they forgot about the rest of his dish or he was just ordered the most expensive French Toast. If you are going to have the audacity to charge prices like this in Granada Hills (or anywhere else) you need need to step up your game. Why should I be treated with such disregard as a customer like that. Dare I go out in a limb and say this seems a bit like discriminatory treatment which is AGAINST the law. As I write this I have little expectation of any true response since your staff it clearly unfit to provide the kind of customer service that people who come there deserve. "How you make people feel is your reputation." After all it trickles down from the top with management setting the tone for the place. I mentioned this to the waitress as we were leaving and once again she simply offered an insincere and dismissive apologies. Why the reviews are high leads me to believe Yelp is becoming obsolete when looking for honest reviews. The decor of the cafe is very cool..posters of Hollywood movies, positive & empowerment messages and a cute bicycle on the wall. Our server (sorry forgot her name), tall African American woman was the hostess, server and busboy for the cafe. Commendable bc she was patient, helpful and pleasant during our dining experience. Checking on us a few times and asking if we needed anything else with a crowd of 5 people indoors and 3 patrons dining outdoors. Food quality was so good and just the right portion. Chicken sausage savory, crispy waffle fries & yum for the multi grain bread. French toast with fruit was delicious as a dessert to share. The food was not the greatest. The customer service wasn't either. I ordered the Avocado toast and it was extremely sour, had a lot of lemon and on top a lemon vinaigrette. My friend ordered chilaquiles and they were drowned in Green salsa which again, was also super sour and the tortilla chips had gotten soggy. I know that green salsa is a bit tangy because of the tomatillos but this was excessive. They had also given us the wrong plate at the beginning (maybe the waiter was new) and it felt like if we asked for something, like a side of salsa, it was a hardship toward the waiters. I'm not sure what changed (chefs or ownership), but man has the food quality gone down. This used to be my go to work spot 2-3x/week but it has been a few months since I have been. I opted for postmates of my usual (The Spaniard with dressed greens and a side of potatoes). The great bread is now a brioche burger bun that is soggy with everything on it (which also makes it smaller), the dressed greens that used to have a good dressing now comes with italian dressing that tastes like Kraft, and everything was cold when I have never had a cold delivery from here before. A home cooked meal, but not at home. Yes, I probably could have made a breakfast burrito at home but I'm so glad I didn't. I've been meaning to try this spot for a long time and never did. I am glad I came this morning and gave it a shot. Really cute interior of this restaurant, and a calm vibe. They have a lot of different options from sweet to savory. I tried the sunshine ranch burrito and it was fantastic! You should have seen the cheese pull on this thing. I got a side of tater tots too which was a great idea. Even the ranch I dipped those tots in hit the spottttt. The food was simply amazing and it was a great breakfast burrito. It was huge and filling. There was no wait when we came luckily and sitting inside was nice. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. Parking can be busy but we found a spot. Service was fast and our waitress got everything we needed. We will definitely be returning to this amazing little cafe!! I came here with my friend and we put our names on the waitlist. It was not busy and we saw another group arrive and be seated before us. I went in and asked if they had our name on the list and they said no so we had to put it on again. We were clearly standing by the door and they didn't think to ask or anything? It seemed a bit bizarre to us that's all. Parking was not an issue since they have it in the back and in front. We were seated very quickly after submitting our name the second time. We had a nice indoor table and ordered everything right away. My friend got the biscuits and gravy and I got the eggs Benedict. Both were pretty good. I didn't feel compelled to take pictures of my food for the first time in forever so that says something. I'm baffled by the number of positive reviews for this place. We had three very big misses with our order. In short, avoid this icky spot! The machine you sign in at noted that it was a wait of 15-25 minutes, but it was close to an hour until we were seated, and it took nearly as long until we were served. The coffee mugs put down on the table were dirty. These points should have been our signal to leave, but we stayed. Bad move. In my whole life I have *never* seen my parents not finish their breakfasts, but all three of us left our plates largely uneaten. My dad took about two bites of his Benedict and said he couldn't stomach anymore, that it was the worst one he had ever had. We asked for well-done fries but they were served barely warm at all. My mom had to send her pancakes back because they were served cold. My huevos rancheros was super bland and barely warm, as well, which made it even yuckier. I only took a few small bites and left the majority of it because it just didn't taste good. Honestly, it was a joke to have a bill brought to us without the waitress even inquiring if there was an issue since each of our plates were virtually untouched. When I was a server, I'd have asked if there was a problem and offered to replace the items if they weren't satisfactory. The meal came to over $70, which was disappointing for such a seriously inferior dining experience. I know negative reviews like this have an impact on small businesses and I don't like to write them, but this was a way below average dining experience that you should avoid. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for excellent food and friendly service in exchange for your hard-earned $. ‍ (Other places in the valley I'd suggest instead: Joe's Cafe, Brent's Deli, Cici's Cafe, The Little Door.
