Banana cream , key lime and 2 peanut butter. Peanut butter was not the best as I thought it would of been. Not a strong chocolate taste on top and peanut butter was very weak. Creamy yes. I have been seeing posts for this establishment on Facebook, everything looks very delicious, so I decided to give it a try. I stopped in on a Friday morning. The gentleman working behind the counter was super friendly and very helpful. The dining room itself is on the small side. One table, a row of counter seating by the window as you walk in, and one high top table with two chairs. I got the breakfast biscuit sandwich. The jalapeno cheddar biscuit was very well seasoned and delicious. My only complaint would be that it was a little on the crumbly side. I got a cup of coffee which was dripper brewed while I waited and it was excellent. The entire cost of the coffee and sandwich meal was $9:50. Everything in the showcase looked excellent. I am not really a cake person so every year for my birthday my husband tries to get me something I will enjoy. We decided this year to try and find a strawberry rhubarb pie, but those are a little harder to find than one would expect. We luckily found out about The Pie Hole and preordered a pie. We only had to call 24 hours in advance where other places require several days notice. The pie was amazing and you could definitely taste the tartness of the rhubarb without the bitterness. Excellent freshly made food. I'm currently chowing down on their green pork chili breakfast burrito, and it's excellent. Would like to try the key lime pie but have to wait until next time. The pies are in the food truck but not baked there where they are stored in ice chest inside the truck. Pie Hole is nestled in a small strip mall. It's a very small restaurant, barely seating 15. There's two tables and a long thin table area with a half dozen chairs where people can sit to eat in restaurant. We've been eager to try this restaurant for a long time but they are closed on Monday and that happened to be the day we first went. My husband ordered a bacon and potato quiche individual sized. He commented that there was mostly potato in the quiche and skimpy on the filling. I ordered a few breakfast turnovers and they were very tasty. One was a tomato egg and feta cheese rye over and the other one was spicy pork and green chili. There was hardly any filling in the egg turnover and what disappointed us the most was though the piecrust is homemade and delicious, the fillings were minimal. To me, Pie Hole could be an awesome restaurant if there was more filling added it to the dishes. We also ordered an individual pecan pie to go. Same situation. The pie mostly piecrust and very little pecan filling. Disappointing. I would go back however. No outside seating and very limited seating inside. You can order items to go if you're in need for something for supper or lunch such as pot pies. Whole pies are also available for sale for approximately $20-$25. I would definitely order a whole pie if it had more filling! read more

Went in today with a girlfriend for coffee and a sweet treat. I love pie and have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. I am sad to say that I was disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. It is a very small shop and the young lady at the front was very nice. They have a case filled with mini pies, pie slices, whole pies, and hot pot pies. I got a cappuccino with vanilla. The cappuccino was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of sweetness! I would come back just for the coffee. I got a slice of the banana cream pie. It's was a brand new pie and I got the first cut slice so I was excited. The crust was light in color and underdone. It tasted doughy in places, hard to cut, and very bland. The pie it self was also very bland. There was only 2 slices of banana in my slice and the filling almost tasted like vanilla pudding. You would have never guessed it was banana cream. I didn't care for the whip cream either, it had no sweetness at all. I kept eating it hoping it would get better but unfortunately it didn't. We hung out talking for awhile and enjoyed sipping on the coffee. I may be back again for a cup of coffee but will have to skip the pie in the future. Deeply disapointed. Was happy to see there was a local desert place in the area. Stopped in on a Sunday around 2pm. The lady in front was very nice and helpful, so Kudos to her. A nice selection to choose from. I picked the cherry pic and Apple for my mother. Got home and was eager to dig in. Split a half off with my son and took the others outside to engage in peace. Fail, epic fail. First. I don't believe the pic was fresh, it tasted as it's been sitting for days. Second, I don't believe it's made of fresh ingredients. So have really enjoyed the pies from here in fact it is way too close to the house because the pies are so good. Today I tried the biscuits sausage and gravy eggs and side of diced fried potatoes who I will also give a thumbs up to. Mamma Toledo's is my go to Moon Valley place when entertaining my Moon Valley book club, ladies luncheon, or scrapbooking weekends. I've enjoyed so many of them that it's hard to say which pie is my favorite but Key lime, Lemon Meringue and Triple Chocolate are right up there. I came in as a first time customer today and spoke to a young lady behind the counter who stated she had been working there for only 2 weeks thus far. I asked questions and then placed my order. 1 banana chocolate chip waffle, 1 chicken pot pie(non-frozen), 1 banana crème pie, and a biscuit sandwich which I made a combo. She rang me up and then a few minutes later stated she forgot to add the waffle to my order. Then, I first received the pot pie and crème pie in 1 bag. Then came another bag with the biscuit breakfast (2 separate boxes). At the same time she handed me some syrup and said it was for the waffle. I said "Okay, thank you" thinking that was it, that the order was complete. NEVER did she specify there was still waffles waiting to finish and she would be right back to go to the kitchen to get them. I walked out and got in the car and left. When I called back there was no Manager to speak to, couldn't order fresh waffles because there were no cooks left and the girls working had no empathy and didn't give too shits. I spent $38 on my first visit, just for me and was absolutely disappointed. Food was average at best and the customer service lacked. Such a cute place! Get there early to get the freshest pies! My first visit was later at night and due to the popularity of this place, there wasn't much to chose from. I made sure we stopped by the next morning and hubby and I both picked a 5-inch mini pie to have later. The perfect size pie for one. Great pricing and the pie was delicious. As I like to say if I am going to eat those calories it had better be worth it! My chocolate cream pie was! Hubby enjoyed his key lime pie. My suggestion would be an app where you could order ahead, but also know what was baked fresh that day as the menu changes. The fruit pies were very good and the chicken pie was good but the other savory pies had very little flavor. SBL and I stopped by here to see what the menu was like. Pie Hole is a very cool bakery, It's eclectic and retro inside. The menu is on the wall and they have a wide variety to choose from. They had coffee drinks, desserts, pot pies, biscuits and empanadas. As a bonus they make their own crust daily by hand and let me tell you it is fah-ha-lakey! After looking at everything for 8 hrs we finally settled on an individual mini chocolate satin pie for SBL, a slice chocolate cake for mini me and a slice of raspberry topped cheesecake for myself. I also got an iced mocha to wash my cheesecake down with. Mini me loves his cake. He said he didn't want to over do it because the cake was so rich so he ate it in two helpings. SBL on the other hand did not wait a second day to finish his pie. He said it was creamy and also very rich, like butta'. The little pie weighed 47lbs. Just kidding, but they did cram a lot in that little tin. My cheesecake was reminiscent to my childhood and how my mom use to make them. It was just right, not too sweet, not too rich. The only thing missing was that old school canned glazed cherry topping she use to drizzle all over the whole thing. The iced mocha I ordered on the other hand was incredibly rich and so a little too much for me. I will admit I'm not a coffee lover unless it tastes like chocolate. This was a true coffee drank and so not for me. The guy helping us did make it with love and it came in a cool cup with a sticker, thank you good sir. Again we found another jackpot to frequent. What a fantastic local find! My friend and I came here to try a couple of their pot pies and our only regret is that we didn't have more room in our stomachs to try more. I had the chicken pot pie and my friend had the pot roast pot pie and we split a slice of coconut cream pie. The pie crust was perfectly flaky and the fillings were insanely delicious. The pies look a little on the small side when you think of the large portions most restaurants provide but the pies are SO filling we had trouble finishing our individual pie and the shared slice. I tried the pot roast which was great but overall I'd probably get the chicken again. read more

Love this place. A hidden gem. Such an amazing staff - always feel the love when I pop in. I am obsessed with biscuits and gravy - I even make a mean batch myself. This place hands down has the best Biscuits and Gravy in Phoenix. It all starts with the jalapeño cheddar biscuit - so good. Their sausage gravy is the real deal. Great sausage, good flavor and just enough black pepper to be authentic. I get the plate which also comes with two eggs (I opt for over easy) and these lovely potato wedges too. You won't regret it!
