Placed a order over the phone, arrived to pick it up they told me it wasn't ready when i saw it sitting on the counter. I stood there for about 15 minutes while my food was getting cold. They told me it was ready but they couldn't ring me up because the person who took the order was dealing with a table. Oh man. I wanted to like this place but it was such a hot mess. Where do I even begin? It was a nice first impression but that's about as good as it got right there. First off let me say that none of what I'm about to say is the fault of the servers. They saved my visit. Please keep in mind there were only 2 servers. On a Sunday. In Bakersfield. That's just plain idiotic.  Moving on, the place is VERY small. I have considerable difficulty with anxiety especially in crowded places so I had to ready myself for that. We were seated and our orders taken pretty quickly. For some reason our drinks only had like 5 ice cubes in them so it melted pretty quickly and became lukewarm before our food ever showed up, which took over 30 minutes.  After we ordered, damn near an entire soccer team came in and expected to be seated (seriously! They took up 4 tables!). Seated to the right of our table was the family of some the soccer players. They were all unbelievably rude. They LITERALLY demanded their drinks when the poor servers were unbelievably overwhelmed and doing their very best. 15 minutes after we ordered our food I could see it sitting in the pickup area, where it sat for 15 more minutes (why wouldn't you have a heat lamp?). Again this was no fault of the servers who were busy trying to seat a whole soccer team. The food was okay...I probably would have enjoyed it more had it not been lukewarm. They kept forgetting to bring us silverware because they were trying to remember 80 things at once but did finally get to it. It wasn't anything I couldn't get at places much closer to my house. Village Grill on F is way better, with a more diverse menu, and much more space. My meal was also $50 for 4 people and pathetically small portion sizes. Considering how my experience went it ought to have been free but the servers had enough problems. Mandy's seems like someone tried to open a cute little cafe with absolutely no idea what they were getting into. I've done my time in the restaurant industry and this was as bad as it gets right here. I made sure to give my server a good tip but I doubt I'll be back unless they staff it better. read more

Mandy's was clean, nicely decorated and friendly staff. We went around 10a on a Saturday. We were greeted and seated almost immediately, with a smile. (PSA: if you're looking for the huevos rancheros, it's called "the mamba") It comes with beans and potatoes and a strategically arranged orange slice as garnishment. The potatoes were so flavorful along with the egg and beans. The portions are just right. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Mandy's cafe is a cute little place that serves food that reminds you of home. Their food is simple and the basic American breakfast foods but they are not vegan friendly and only have one vegetarian dish. I did have to make a fish so that I can eat which added 3$ to my 10$ burrito. I felt as though this shouldn't have been added due to me taking everything out of the burrito to add veggies. if the burrito wasn't as good as it was I would give 3 starts but it was better than expected. I ordered food from here through the GrubHub order feature in Yelp. I liked the types of food they had- something for everyone- and the price was reasonable. However, the waffles were soggy, the whipped cream was melted, and the coffee was cold and not filled to the top. Not sure whose fault this was but could have been served better. read more

Such a cute little Café that's open for breakfast, brunch and lunch 6am-3pm. The staff are super friendly and attentive and the space is very little but very open and inviting. The food is delicious and made to order, the hash browns could use seasoning but we handled that with salt and pepper at the table. The Strawberry Waffles are so good with fresh strawberries on top yum. And the Top of The Morning French Toast meal is so fresh and full of flavor. We are So excited we have a cute little Café in our neighborhood now, we will definitely be back to try everything on the menu. read more

Went for the first time today and the waitress was quick to take our orders. I ordered an omelet and it came with home fries or hash browns I asked if instead I could get French fries because my 2 y o grandson was with me it also came with toast which I declined. My son ordered the burrito and asked if instead of the bacon inside the burrito could he just have it on the side she said yes to both after our meal the check came and I just about had a heart attack we were charged for both the fries and the bacon and I was just asking why about the fries she said it says on the menu no substitutions which she never said that beforehand she said there was nothing she could do. This place is a hidden gem. Came up to visit family and there is absolutely no good places to eat breakfast here. Come onto yelp and Mandy's popped up. I was a bit skeptical because we were a party of 10 we walked in and there happened to be 2 tables open. We sat the younger ones on one table and the others in the other. It worked out great. The waitress's were awesome we loved the food the service was awesome. The food was awesome most of us got the ribeye breakfast. It's a big piece of meat. We also got the club it's a double decker. I arrived when doors opened at 7am. This morning, I had the Veggie Skillet (comes with home fries), Rye toast, and coffee. Let's begin with the service. It is everything you want during your morning hours. You are seated quickly, beverages are taken right up front, and the atmosphere is that of familiarity. You feel welcomed and like a regular whether it's your first, or tenth time. The chef and waiter are extremely polite, know the menu front and back, and attempt their best to anticipate your needs so you do less waiting, and more enjoying. They are a critical part of the experience because they treat you like a family friend and not a customer. When it comes to food, you can expect very good quality here. The chef prepares each order as if you are the only one he is serving. My eggs were fluffy, and seasoned just right to where I can actually taste the pleasant, delicate flavor of the yolk and not have it ruined by too much white or burned spots. The addition of olives with eggs is a pairing I would not have though about, but I certainly did enjoy the slight brininess contrasting the soft eggs. Speaking of contrast, the soft texture of the eggs, tomatoes, and olives were offset by crunchy broccoli and onions. Both were not cooked to the point of mush, but just given a quick minute in the pan to make them just a tad bit soft, while keeping their flavor and crunch. The raw edge is taken off of the onion and you are left with just the sweetness. The bed of home fries it comes on is not extraordinary, but it really should not be as it is just a carb source on the plate. Sure, alone they would be a little boring considering that they are only lightly golden and not the standard American breakfast style, but laying beneath the skillet, the creamy inside and slightly golden outside really do work well together. It is a good example of attention to detail, the dish is created to bring out the best in everything, not just make everything it's own little plate. The choice of bread is wide, but my preference is Rye as they have the marbles variety which I am a fan of. It comes crisp, with just the right amount of butter to bring out the richness in the bread itself. It is not drenched, it does not come soggy, and it certainly does not leave you feeling heavy and bloated afterwards. While I attended here in August 15th, they are still under the hours of Tuesday-Sunday, 7am-2pm. The cost of the meal here for the veggie omelette was about $15, but I would gladly pay $25 and I did with my tip. If you are looking for a small, local, customer experience oriented restaurant with quality service and food, have a stop by. I highly recommend the egg and omelette plates. This is the kind of business you want to vote with your dollars for. *A quick note about pandemic safety procedures here. All tables are cleaned. They have delivery options via GrubHub, DoorDash, and Postmates. Also, if you wish to dine in, they only have outside seating. There are four tables each with four chairs six feet apart. A mask is required while placing a to-go order, but of course, not while dining in. We walked in and we were greeted and she told us we could sit where ever we liked. We were the only ones there on a Saturday morning. She gave us menus and took our drink order. I asked how long they'd been open and she said 5 weeks. It's small but cute and clean. We loved over the menu and ordered two breakfast specials. Eggs, 4 bacon, or you could get two bacon 2 sausage which we chose all bacon, and 2 pancakes. I ordered coffee which was pretty good. The order was out quickly, and bacon cooked crisp to order very nice. I must say the pancakes where just okay, nothing special. I think it was a good price 7 dollars each meal for what we recieved, but it's not like super tasty I just want to go back again soon. And there are a few places in town I love returning to. This is why I only gave it 4 stars. Good, but not absolutely delicious just average. Service was good but maybe because we were the only ones there, I have no way of know how else to evaluate it. I must say even though it was clean there was a few finger prints on a mirror behind the register and the window by the door and the entry door. So you'd figure if it was that slow the waitress could have cleaned that? But her phone was by the register so I guess she was occupied with something else. But if you want to check it out they do have lunch also because they are open till 3, you might want to go and see how you like it. Wow! The vibe in Mandy's was so nice. I loved the decor, super trendy. I was warmly welcomed and was able to be seated quickly. Went in a few weeks ago cause I was starving and didn't want typical fast food breakfast. They had a special of two hot cakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I added a side of hash browns. Everything was good except for the hash browns. They had a funny taste to them so I didn't eat it. But everything else was fine.
