Such a good reuben!! Big fan. Ordered it a couple more times after this. Poutine was good but very salty, as expected.

The food was great, the waiter was really kind. The place is comfortable and great. Very busy on a Saturday morning but we still only had to wait 15 minutes so they are hustling those tables! Only thing I can say to improve was that the inside was a bit confusing. Everyone was waiting around and no one was out front. While we were seated, a couple was wondering through the inside unsure on where to go. Other than that it was SO good! They are totally busy but worth the wait.

It's been a while since I reviewed Maple Leaf Diner. Since my last review, the COVID pandemic is over so this review focuses on Maple Leaf Diner's current interior. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - There is a new remodeled interior (since my last review). Maple Leaf Diner is still in the same location, but the COVID friendly walls have been replaced by traditional booths and seating. There's more decoration on the walls too - especially if you walk down the hall to use the bathroom. Here you can read all the magazine articles that have written about Maple Leaf Diner. 1 Star. Service - Tip: Get in line using the Yelp App. Maple Leaf Diner is extremely popular on weekends, and if you don't get in line, you'll have to wait from 1 - 2 hours. Once you're in, you're greeted with smiles and attentive servers. 1 Star. Food - Maple Leaf Diner is known for its Canadian owners and pure Maple Leaf syrup. So if season pumpkin pancakes are on the menu, ORDER THEM. I did, and I was rewarded with a soft, fluffy stack of thick pancakes with a hint of cinnamon. I was given two small bowls of maple syrup, and I used them both. I also ordered the poutine. Just like in Canada, the poutine had fresh, hot fries smothered in brown gravy and cheese curds. It may sound weird, but it tastes delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes, because there's nothing like Maple Leaf Diner. It's true, I could visit another pancake house and enjoy their pancakes, but there's no mistaking the Canadian charm and delicious food of the Maple Leaf Diner. See you next weekend! 1 Star.

The search is over! I've been looking for the best Chicken Fried Steak in Dallas, and I think Maple Leaf Diner has everyone beat. The batter is seasoned perfectly and stays crispy without falling apart--a rare find. My fiancé and I also shared a half-order of the poutine; it was delicious, addictive, and the ideal size for two people to split. The service is exactly what you want from a diner: friendly, attentive, and quick. If you're craving comfort food, this is the spot.

My boyfriend and I came here after my 10k race. We waited for 45 min (heads up, you can get in line virtually in Yelp) before we were seated. Love the atmosphere and the vibe of the place :) We saw how big the portion was, so we ordered 2 dish to split. i especially love the cream puff on top of the chicken, bacon and waffles, other than that, to me, it is kind of standard - nothing too outstanding. But the poutine *mm* - it was my first ever poutine. Heard so much about it but never had it. Better than expected and will definitely order again!!! Anyways, the dish portion is huge. Sharing is the best decision we made.

The ambience is best described as diner diner style (busy & bustling.) We were say immediately upon entering the restaurant and greeted almost within seconds by our server after sitting at the table. I was feeling breakfast and decided to go with something including pancakes. I loved the consistency, I consider myself a pancake conoseur and their pancakes hit the spot. Instead of eggs, I substituted for their breakfast potatoes which came out hot and crispy . I was even more pleased to know they offered turkey sausage as there are some restaurants that only have pork and beef options. So that game a star in my book. Overall, I'd say the meal was very filling, delicious and freshly cooked. Our server was very attentive and kept not only our water cups filled but continued to check on us throughout our time there. Great choice to stop here, as we were fresh off the airplane, coming from the airport and starving !! Way to go Maple Leaf Diner

5 stars all around. I got a half portion of the regular/classic poutine and a raspberry cream cheese cookie. Both were awesome. The poutine was flavorful and the portion size was enough to make me full. The service was great, food came out very quickly and was hot & fresh.

You guys the hype is real. Amazing service and great food at reasonable price. It's a total diner and I highly recommend you guys adding this to your list. The vibe is total old school diner and the service is impeccable! I cannot wait to return. The poutine was great and perfectly salty. The pancakes are fluffy and the waffles were perfect. My friends got cotton candy mimosa and enjoyed every drop. Add this place to your rotation!

    Nobody knows what that is.

How's the poutine here? Are the cheese curds fresh?

The poutine is pretty good. The gravy is thick. The cheese curds are good. They don't taste as good or fresh as the ones I usually get in Ontario, Canada. When ever I'm homesick and craving a poutine it def does the trick. Also make a…

I had booked a reservation on Resy and we were seated immediately in a small, intimate booth. Initially, it was not terribly loud, but as the evening progressed and several large parties were seated nearby; the sound of the music was completely drowned out. I think more noise abatement measures could be taken to absorb some of the obtrusive loudness we were getting. For a starter, we ordered the Calamari. It was fried perfectly and was great, but the Thai Sticky sauce was too sweet and the consistency of the sauce was thin. It needed something to make it more viscous, and a secondary sauce, like a marinara or even an aioli would've been nice to balance out the sweetness of the Thai sauce. For an entree, I ordered the Maple- Ginger Salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and itself was delicious, but the sauce was too sweet and rich. The fired rice that accompanied my meal was over-the-top salty. It was almost going into "too much" territory. For desert we split the Passion Fruit Ice Cream Pie. This was actually very good and not overly sweet. It was my favorite item from my meal. Overall Renny's truly employs a lot of care and attention to the food, but some of the items crossed a line into "too much" territory. Be it sweetness or saltiness, the kitchen could exercise a bit of restraint to let the flavors of the food shine.

No regular ice tea, only flavored. Disappointed in the Hot Lopez (spicy/sweet fried chicken sandwich). It was a little spicy but way too sweet. Here is what we ordered - **Starters** Korean Fried Cauliflower: I was the only one that ate this and omg it was really good, it satisfied my cauliflower craving lol 10/10 Truffle Parmesan Frites: these were outstanding 100/10! The freshly grated Parmesan on top was chef's kiss. Tuna and Avocado Roll: this was fresh and paired nicely with the sauce. 10/10 **Entrees** I got the Joey Classic Steak (on accident lol) but I'm not disappointed. The steak was cooked perfectly. The "crispy mashed potatoes" were unexpected lol. They were more like mashed potato eggrolls/flautas, but tasted fine. Id give this plate a solid 8/10. My cousin ordered the New York strip and she had just about the same notes on her dish. 8/10 My other cousin ordered the Steak Ravioli Blanco, she cleared her plate so I'm going to assume that she really liked it lol. 10/10 Lastly our waitress brought out a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating my cousin's bachelorette weekend, this was such a nice gesture, I think it was cheesecake and the flavor was delicious so 10/10

I ended up only ordering a drink and an appetizer because I was so disappointed I didn't want to go further. $23.75 Joey Martini - just a simple dry vodka martini w Kettle One. But the description lured me in with the promise of a fantastic martini with an "extra martini on the side". What I received was a half of a martini with the rest of my martini in a shaker next to it. The martini was fine but nothing special. Not the first time I've overplayed for a drink but I do feel a little funny about the way their menu sold me then undelivered. $19 Hummus - The food was an issue for me though. When I order Hummus, I expect to receive hummus. Like the dish should be 70-80% hummus with some light toppings and some good pita bread. What I received was a pretty plate but very little actual hummus and a disaster of pita. First, they made a pretty plate circle of a small band of hummus then filled it with extra stuff to make it APPPEAR as if the center was filled with hummus yet there was zero hummus except for that small outer band. I estimate 49% hummus and the rest tzatziki and garnishment. Don't get me wrong, very aesthetically pleasing and tasty "extras" but the menu item isn't titled "EXTRAS with a little hummus". It's titled "Hunmus". And the pita... oh boy, what a mess. Proper pita is lightly grilled - served warm with a nice sponginess yet bite friendly approach. This pita was way over saturated in their butter/oil, and crisped up to the point there were burn marks and char on every piece. Horrible pairing with hummus and JOEY should know it. I feel these other reviews may be fake honestly as the prices are insane and the execution quite poor. Be careful. $45 for a $15 meal isn't worth it. Go somewhere else - I'm including a pic of the "hummus" reveal so you see what I'm talking about

You could really tell the flavor was rich due to the cream cheese. It came with some lavash chips and the hearty crunch paired beautifully with the creaminess of the dip. For an entree, I got the fish tacos. They were stellar, and I enjoyed every component, from the chipotle tortillas to the fried fish- it was excellent! It also came with a chilled orzo salad with a basalmic dressing- it was so refreshing and was just as good the next day as part of my leftovers. Features a compact bar with only 2 screens, which again is preferential versus something loaded to the gills with cheap TCL displays. Menu is simple and direct, with all of what you might expect from an upscale neighborhood bar & grill. The tuna tartare is excellent, but it's more of a dip almost than a traditional imagining. It has jalapeno, heaps of cilantro, and muddled avocado to tie it all together. Very fresh and pleasant. Pastrami sliders were also tasty, but I would venture to say they are a little too bready for an appetizer, but nicely done otherwise. My go to entree is of course either the hanger steak or filet with fries and semi traditional bistro sauce, can't go wrong there. I have only seen 2 deserts on the menu, but there might be some special appearances from time to time. The do not miss item there is the Basque cheesecake. Which is basically a cheese forwards cheesecake without a crust, and somewhat reduced sugar content versus it's American cousins. Very good, and served with a berry coulis. The only trespass I experienced was with the wine list. It's overall somewhat expensive for what's listed, and on my last visit two bottles I had ordered were out of stock. That being said there are good picks here from Premier Cru Chablis to Faust Cabernet Sauvignon.
