Before today, I had been here once before, back in the early '90s with friends (it was a work party for one of them). That first visit was not particularly memorable. I'd long forgotten it. Today my boyfriend and I (we live in the L.A. area) went for his birthday. We had a discount birthday code for $52.95 tickets. We opted out of any upgrades (unnecessary and a waste of money, in my opinion). Yeah, the place is touristy, but he had never been there before, and I was game to experience it anew since that one time 30+ years ago. Everything was well organized. Fun stuff to check out while you wait to be seated, including the horses up close. We had awesome seats. Service throughout the place was very friendly and courteous (Nathan R. was our dinner server). The food was a pleasant surprise. The tomato bisque was very hot and was good, but it really tasted more like a beef broth. The buttered garlic toast was good for dipping. The roasted half-chicken was hot, flavorful, juicy, and fall-off-the-bone tender, like the best rotisserie chicken you've ever had. We each could only eat half of the chicken, so we brought the rest home. The roasted half potato was hot and adequately seasoned. The corn on the cob was covered in an orange-colored greasy sauce ("butter"?) but tasted ok. Soft drinks were refilled often, the small dessert eclair was good, and the coffee was hot but a little bitter. The show was very entertaining. The emcee guy was perfect, with the best accent and cadence in his voice. The king could work on his acting and accent a bit. The knights were a mix of handsome, rugged, dashing young men, also skilled in riding horses and combat choreography. The horses were beautiful and well-trained, and the falcon flight was a sight to see. The 90-minute show was just the right length. We walked out feeling quite entertained, with full bellies, some great pics and videos, and a $22 souvenir photo taken at arrival. All in all, this dinner show experience was worth the discounted price we paid, and now we don't really need to go again. It is just as fun as it looks (very!) I have been to this location and one other outside Chicago, both times with two adults only. The ambiance is great - I especially loved seeing the animals - and everyone is very committed to the theme. My favorite part of this experience, coming from LA, is that it was super easy to navigate. There is ample parking, it's all pretty contained, and the facility and stadium are not too large. The food is fine - honestly, this place is much more about the entertainment than the food - and the service was excellent. Everyone is really working hard! this was only my second time going to medieval times as i was a kid the last time i went and the experience was as i remember when i was little! there's a long line to get to the kiosk to retrieve your passes for the show, recommend coming early, but they give you your crown of the team color you're supporting and walk right into the stadium to your table. service starts right away with tomato soup and garlic bread. i will say the soup was pretty watery and it cooled down significantly since i was waiting awhile for the garlic bread, but the two paired well together. i was most excited for the entree as i remember the chicken being really good when i was younger and it still definitely is! the breast can be the drier part of the chicken as we all know, but the thigh and wings were so tender and juicy; good seasoning too! the potato was cooked pretty good considering how big it was and the flavors of both the potato and corn were good! just a heads up, you will be eating everything with your hands! but they give you a paper napkin and a wet wipe which is convenient. there's also soft drinks and coffee that are part of the package, as well as an eclair at the end for dessert. we ordered drinks from the bar and they came with pretty good quality souvenir cups! some made of glass or ceramic, and some that even lit up. the show was good entertainment and the crowd made the experience all the more fun as well. you get picture ops in the lobby after the show, but definitely a spot the little ones would enjoy! read more

I went to celebrate a birthday and although we visited on a Wednesday, the vibe inside was like a Saturday night. Parking was easy. The person at the entrance greeted you and directed you to either the ticket office if did not print your tickets OR to the main entrance if you printed your tickets ahead of time. Get there early so you can take your time with photos, grab a drink, see the horses, maybe even get a souvenir. We opted for an upgraded Celebration package and it's worth it! Came here for a good friend's birthday and the whole event was very entertaining and thrilling. We weren't sure what to expect because it was our first time, but damn it was worth every penny. We got VIP tickets which includes a full course meal, a crown to wear, and live entertainment show of medieval knights fighting each other. We had such a fun time at Medieval Times and would absolutely go again! Buying tickets was super easy. I was able to get same-day tickets and even found a promo code online, which helped bring the cost down a bit. We went to a weekday mid-afternoon show and arrived about 10 minutes before it started. The line moved quickly and we got in with no stress. We had the base tickets and were seated in the second-to-last row from the top, and honestly, the view was great. I really don't think there's a bad seat in the house. They also offered booster seats for the kids, which made a big difference. Once the show starts, food service begins pretty quickly. One thing to know is that there's no silverware, so you eat everything with your hands. They do provide wipes, but I'd recommend having your kids wash their hands beforehand or bringing sanitizer just in case. Before the show, staff come around selling light-up toys. Just a heads up: they're about $25 each. My kids each got a sword and loved them, but I probably would have thought twice if I knew the price ahead of time. That said, the same toys are available in the gift shop before and after the show, so you could have your kids wait for toys until the end to avoid any in-the-moment pressure (or meltdowns). Pricing overall is definitely on the higher side. For our family of four, with discounted tickets, one large beer ($28), two toys, and tip we spent about $275. That said, it feels like a unique experience. The lighting, sound, acting, and overall production are all really well done, so it still felt like a pretty good value. My only feedback would be around the food options for younger kids. I wish there was a way to opt out of the dinner or a kids menu with simpler options. Horses prance with more grace than I have on two feet, knights clash in choreographed combat that would make Gladiator proud, and the crowd screams like it's the Super Bowl of sword fights. By the end, I was hoarse from yelling, "Long live the Yellow Knight". The food is surprisingly good, considering you're eating it off a pewter plate in the dark while dodging flying sparks and plot twists. Big hunks of roasted chicken, soup that mysteriously tastes great despite being served in a bowl I think was forged in 1278, and dessert to round it off. Is it gourmet? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. Discrimination at it's finest: We attended Medieval Times on December 14 at the 5:00 PM show, seated at RED Table 7, Seats 5 and 6, with my son. This has been a once-a-year tradition for my birthday, something we always looked forward to and wanted to create good memories around. Unfortunately, this year completely ruined that tradition. Our server was extremely rude and dismissive. When I asked for water, he gave me the runaround and did not bring it until after dinner was already served and I had finished my chicken. When he finally brought the water, his attitude was very poor. What made this experience even worse was that guests who arrived after us were served promptly, while we were repeatedly ignored. When bread was being served, he skipped us completely right in front of us. I had to ask him if we were going to receive bread before he finally came back. The same thing happened again with dessert, making it very clear that this was intentional and not a mistake. The treatment felt discriminatory, and I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. This was supposed to be a special birthday tradition, and instead it turned into a very negative experience. To the point that after the dessert was served we left early because I felt discriminated 100% check the cameras so you can see how even my son saw me sad and got up to ask the guy for our dessert since he completely skipped up. What an awful "VIP" experience. Sadly, because of this, we will no longer continue this yearly tradition. I was debating on whether or not to upgrade, but I decided to save the money and I was glad I did. We arrived around 4:20pm and there were a lot of parking. There was a decent line, but it went quick. Once you check in, you get your card and that determines which color team you're on. I got some goodies for my kid and made our way to the show. For the basic tickets, we had great seats. The seats are close to each other so be prepared for that. Food was as expected (no utensils so bring some extra hand wipes if you have kids. I was open to the food, but it was not the best. My kid usually eats everything, but he wasn't a fan. The highlight was the show and for a 5 year old, it was amazing. My wife wanted to do something family oriented but beyond just dinner at a restaurant (or a movie), and chose Medieval times. There are a number of packages to chose from which provide a few extra perks to commemorate your attendance...our package came with three 5x7 photos of all us sporting crowns...in our party was my wife (bday girl), me, my oldest daughter (17) and our little one 3yrs old. We got there early so I found parking very quickly. That said, the venue has a private parking lot. They have a huge receiving/waiting area to purchase snacks and souvenirs, and many little alcoves for photo opportunities. Also, one can see the horses chill'en out in their stalls before the show as well as actors dressed in their colors...wandering around. The arena itself is massive...holding at least 800 people...maybe more. Attendees are organized into groups according to a color ( representing a knight that you'll cheer for during the show). Your family or group sits with others in the same color. The seating is arranged like any arena or stadium vs a restaurant. Our server was friendly and fast...mostly because the menu is fixed...everyone gets soup, bread.m and chicken...no silverware...eat with your hands! There may be 30 mins reserved for eating, the remaining 90 plus mins is dedicated to the show. The actors and performers did a great job! They had everyone including my 3yr old! Cheering during the entire event! I'm not sure how different shows there are from night to night... do they change? What we saw was a lot of fun! I was born and raised in Southern California and always wanted to go here since I was a kid. Fast-forward 40 years and I was able to go for the first time and take my family for the experience. To blue's credit, their section really had some good chants going that we did not and were cheering louder. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My family enjoyed it immensely, and my teenage daughter who doesn't seem to like anything anymore literally said "it was the best thing ever" with genuine enthusiasm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She was cheering so loud during the show that she lost her voice and had a mild laryngeal spasm and had to be evaluated by EMS. Not kidding! Got the picture to prove it, but won't post out of respect for the responding crew. I was surprised by the large number of people in attendance. We had reservations, making it easy to get inside. We were seated and explained the show's format by the server. I thought their choreography was well done, and every event they performed was extremely entertaining. As for the food, I think it's as good as it gets. We checked in as VIP and got seated in the first row for rink side views of the battle that was to commence. Dinner was meh, but you're really here for the show. You start with tomato bisque and garlic bread. Then your main is the chicken thigh followed by a profiterole for dessert. Nothing fancy since you're required to eat with your hands - no utensils. Show was fun. I don't recommend front row since you get the occasional kick up of sand. The barrier and nets are nice during intense battle scenes, but it doesn't block the smell. Great to experience at least once in your life and nice to let loose while competitively cheering for your section. read more

I had a great time at Medieval Times with my family yesterday for my birthday. It is a great experience overall, and very worth it. The horsemanship alone makes it worthwhile, as they have some magnificent animals and costumes, and showmanship. I was very impressed that the king and queen were also riding horses. You could tell the whole ensemble cast has serious horse riding skills. The actual tournament was impressive. There were shocking moments-- these guys were no-joke bashing each other with metal weapons in mock hand-to-hand combat, to the point of making their swords produce sparks and their shields clanging unbelievably loudly. The jousting looked almost real and produced numerous broken lances. And they had a real falcon that flew around the arena about two feet over our heads. The overall feel is one of a classier form of a professional wrestling event, complete with scripted drama and conflicts between characters. I paid extra for the accolade (knighting ceremony), which my wife captured on video along with a few other great moments. My daughter loved the experience, as well. The food was satisfactory and had a home-cooked feel-- but this show isn't really about the food. In any case, I was not expecting to like the chicken, but it was pretty good. No utensils, so make sure you have clean hands or use the provided towelettes. Our show was somewhat lightly attended compared to the capacity of the arena, but there was still plenty of crowd to cheer on the knights. The performers were excellent and fully immersed in their roles. Highly recommended. read more

We had a family visit here after our recent visit to Knott's Berry Farm. MT is pretty close to Knott's and we were all hungry and tired from a busy day. Knott's closed at 6pm, and the show started at MT at 7pm, so it was a perfect fit! We had made reservations ahead of time, and note: they DO offer a military discount! They got us checked in and sat pretty efficiently, all with the fanfare we'd expected as part of the show. Coming from a chilly, somewhat foggy day at Knott's, I think it's important to note that it is COLD in the arena! For kids or that always cold girl in your group, bring a coat! The show was BANANAS! We loved the falconer, the dressage was stunning, and the battles were exciting and got everyone cheering! The food was surprisingly good! Our server, Arthur, was awesome. We enjoyed each course, and had some to take back to our hotel. Pro tip: TRY THE HONEY MEAD! For us, it was about getting to see the overall experience, not necessarily for the photo, and def NOT for the light up cheapie tchotchkes. We wanted to see what all The Cable Guy fandom was about and we all had a stellar times! We had 4 adults, a teen and a tween and that's a hard demo to impress, and we all LOVED the food and show! Fun activity for the family!! Our dinner was okay and you have no silverware because it's medieval! The kids loved that. Soup, bread, chicken, potatoes, corn, drinks and dessert. I wish they would have skipped the red stuff on the corn and potatoes. The entertainment was amazing!! Knights on horseback with a battle and cheering for your knight. They could obviously ride horses really well. The falcon was incredible. The king and queen were there and we all loved the show ages 7-70!! read more

Had a super fun time with the kids at this dinner and live action knight show! There was jousting, horses dancing, sword fighting, drama, and food! While our knight didn't win, we had a delightful time even if fighting was quite dramatized. The waiting area gets super busy, and there was a huge kid crowd the day we went. There is merch galore for anybody that wants some extra outfits, hats, light up swords, etc! It was pretty amazing how they get such a large group of people fed all at the same time. We got the VIP ticket which meant you got to enter first, sit in the first row, got a group picture, got an extra cake dessert, and well, you get a cool lanyard to make it clear to EVERYONE you're VIP - you can even take it home haha. It was a good amount of food that I needed a box for since we went to the 2pm show. I wish they gave us water AND lemonade instead of one or the other, but alas bring your own water bottle if you also want another drink! read more
