I did read some reviews on this place first, and even though I saw some bad reviews I gave this place a shot because the staff was very warm and welcoming upon my inquiry for service. They gave me a great deal AND great service! I was very satisfied with the end result and will return here for servicing in the future. From start to finish, Luis was a tremendous help and offered wonderful customer service. I needed new front brakes. I set up an appointment via telephone and when I arrived a few days later, Luis greeted me with a handshake and a smile. He took me inside where my car was raised, showed me the condition of my brakes (the front ones were pretty bad), explained the work that would be done, and gave recommendations for future repairs. I had to create an account JUST to give this place a review, if I was allowed to give negative scores they'd have earned it. I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. They ran the diagnostics and told me I needed both oxygen sensors replaced in my Civic. I desperately need my car running well to get to work and driving around town for my job, so I let them do it. When I picked up my car 9(!) hours later when they were finished with it, I started it up and heard the most awful noises, noise I've never heard from any car, which I could hear quite clear. I told the guy that had been helping me with the paperwork, he came and listened, eventually narrowed it down to my power steering, and found the reservoir bone dry! He squeezed some power steering fluid in, which made the noise go down (a little) and just told me they did nothing with the steering. This is a 4 month old power steering pump that has had no problem whatsoever until this day! They were closing, and I needed my car, so I drove off, still making noise with every press of the gas and turn of the steering wheel. The noise continued until I got the power steering checked again, it was found to still be low, got filled up, and now the noise was noticeably quieter. I still get steering noise while steering sometimes, and am taking it back to where I got the pump installed since its under warranty, but I hope this place didn't damage the pump more than the warranty will cover, I am very much convinced this trouble was caused during my visit to Midas. Oh and for value, I found out the same repair (two oxygen sensors) would have been over $100 CHEAPER if done at the local Honda dealer. I am truly sorry I gave this place a chance.. read more

I couldn't be any happier with the service I received from this shop. Kevin and Luis provided great customer service. I went in because of squeaky brakes and the inspection showed a few other issues. The job was going to take a few hours, so Kevin offered me a ride home. I was updated along the way and when the job was not going to be finished by closing Kevin offered me a loaner vehicle. This guys are the worst.: 1. They left my caliper without a bolt, which I only found out when i drove it home and heard and odd noise when i backed up. They did something similar with my brother's car where his whole caliper fell off! 2. They offered automatic transmission fluid exchange, but my car is manual transmission. 3. They told me my battery needed replacement. I took it the next day to Sears where i bought the DieHard battery and they told the battery was fine. Go here at your own risk, trust me. I wish i could give zero stars. Edit: Notice how all the reviews are either 1 star or 5 star. Looks like the shop is writing great reviews themselves. I was recommended by a friend to go the Midas of Long Beach in Anaheim Street for my auto repair. However, since I live in Newport Beach I did not take my car there due to distance. But few days ago I was in the area meeting with a client and my engine light went ON with my Mercedes. I drove to the Midas Auto Service and spoke to the owner, Kevin regarding the potential issues with my car. After a quick inspection, Kevin explained in detailed all the possibilities and suggested a diagnosis to determine the exact issue, which his staff immediately performed. Once the problem was detected Kevin and his staff reviewed everything with me including the cost which seemed very reasonable. Once I approved they proceeded without any delay and took care of the problems with my Mercedes. I truly appreciated their promptness, detailed and honesty with respect to repair of my car. Further the prices for their repairs were extremely fair considering I paid at least two to three times of that to the Mercedes dealership for my services in the past. I am happy that I had a chance to experience such a great service and people. So, if you want to experience a great service, reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff, then I recommend Midas of Long Beach. I know I will return soon for my repairs. read more

1/31/2017.... Went in the day before to find out what the cost was going to be for OBD code p0463 fuel gauge was not reading also check engine light had been on.. Anyways Luis pretty much gave his spiel I questioned some of it his answers were on point... So i felt comfortable paying the diagnostic... Turns out there were multiple codes... And since I had brake work done couple days prior I knew he wasn't lying... Went back on this day gave my permission.. They even offered to transport me back once my car was finished.. Needless to say my car broke me down to the .99c menu.. But because I am now going to be a productive member of society again, i can scrimp by until my first payday.. The people I dealt with were all cool it didn't seem like they were trying to upsell me or scam me... The owner was legit and Luis the tech advisor was a standup technician.. not everyone's going to have a great experience or service... But for me on this particular day I got great service and my car up and running again thanks to this MIDAS establishment... As I told them face to face I will be going back to them for my car needs.. Unhelpful, lazy workmanship, and unapologetic about their mistake. I went in today to get the oil changed and to set a time to get couple things fixed before school starts. The only thing the guy at the reception was interested in was selling me high mileage oil for twenty dollars extra. Not only was he nonresponsive to my inquiries about a leak and the engine mount I know I need to replace, he up and left the counter. While I waited the owner was sleeping in the office in plain sight from the counter. They changed the oil quickly enough since there was nothing else going on. But as I was driving home I heard a scratchy noise everytime I hit a bump or hit the brake. I stopped to look under the car and the cover for the oil filter was dangling without its screw. I called and went back to this Midas and a mechanic was waiting for me with the missing screw. I could see the owner and the counterperson in the reception area but they couldn't be bother to come out and give me a simple apology. The only thing this mechanic had to say was that he thought the other mechanic was working too fast so he can go home. I'm glad I found out how horrible their service is before I gave them hundreds of dollars worth of business. read more

This place is HORRIBLE!! I went to get a oil change and my tires rotated. They told me I needed my coolant serviced also, and a new filter. After getting the work done that same night my car was leaking coolant, smoking terribly, leaking antifreeze, and over heating!! As I went back and told them what was going on, they said well thats not our fault!! and that my radiator busted!! I was pissed because my car had never done any of this, and when you go back there the workers are on Facebook and instagram not paying attention to peoples cars!! I will never go back and I DO NOT recommend this place!! And remind you they gave my car a full inspection And listed everything that I needed done, and it said nothing about my radiator. They ruined my New Year! I had to come out of my pocket hundreds of dollars to get my car fixed!! Anthony and the owner are con artists and lieing pieces of shit! Midas lost my business for good after using this location. I came here since it was simple to drop off my truck during work hours and was within walking distance. I had my brake switch replaced along with regular routine maintenance. Within about 7 months the brake switch went out again so i brought it back here which they recommended a second replacement. The Manager didnt mention the part being within a 12 month warranty which they had to have known but that is my own fault. (Paid another 120$) So more time goes by and once again my brake switch went out. Keep in mind the brake switch relays to the brake lights to either luminate or not if i press on the brake. So no way of me knowing unless someone pulls up next to me and says "hey your brake lights stay on." Which is what alerted me to it each time. Very dangerous because drivers behind have no signal that you're slowing down. This time i asked about the warrenty and it had just passed by about 2 weeks. They said they can run a diagnostic for 60 and if i get the repair there they'd waive the 60. Of course i wasnt going to get the repair here i already knew the issue! So i went to another shop in the area that told me they were using a very low quality aftermarket part. Shame on Midas. The new shop replaced my brake switch for $80 including installation. This was close to 20 months ago and ive had no problems. read more

So it's interesting to read all the reviews about this location and they are so all over the place! Well, I can only give my experience which has been fine! I've never been to Midas before but because I got my car from my brother and he said he did all his work on it at Midas I thought I'd continue the maintenance with them. My brakes were squeaking and I knew I needed an oil change for which I've always gone to GOODYEAR. In February, when I went to Goodyear for the oil change they did an inspection and quoted me over $1700 worth of stuff they said I needed. I opted out of it and just did the oil. Now, at Midas, they did the full inspection and said my car looked great! They only had 1/3 of the recommended maintenance so I'm getting what I truly believe I need for $600. Maurice has been wonderful. I made my appointment with him on the phone and he was great. When I arrived today, Maurice received me on time and again was polite and knowledgable and explained everything in terms I could understand. No technical mumbo jumbo. I opted to wait for my vehicle which has been a couple of hours but Maurice did offer to drive me home and pick me up if I wanted. I thought that was very nice. As I've sat here, I've listened to him with several other customers and he's been great as well. Provided all my work ends up being done perfectly, I would definitely come back. If I could give this Midas 0 stars I would, but let's start from the beginning. Upon entering, the customer service was unsatisfactory and you immediately receive an uneasy feeling. They assured me they would look at my car and give me an estimate (my brakes were acting odd). However, this was said in a rude manner as if they wanted me to leave them alone. Not to mention, the looks on their faces read they were about to screw over another customer. I returned to get the estimate and their ace mechanics had "'discovered" that I would need a complete overhaul with my brakes. New pads, fluid, resurfacing rotors, etc. All of this with a quote of around $600. First of all, outrageous! Before arriving, I was told that I would be able to get new brake pads for around $140. They had increased the price to $180 and fought me tooth and nail when I tried to get it lowered - which I finally did. After speaking with a couple others, I knew my brake pads needed to be replaced so I told them to just do that. They gave me this speech about how I was making a huge mistake and if I came back, they would charge me even more. First rule of customer service is ALWAYS treat your customers with the proper respect and courtesy they deserve. It is no wonder this place has a low rating. I made a huge mistake and should have shopped around a little more, but alas, I have learned this lesson in a costly manner. Now, for the "best" part. They installed my brakes, said everything was good, and sent me on my way. Car ran fine...for about a week. That is when the most terrible squealing began. Each day, this horrid noise just got worse. How could this be? I had just gotten my brakes fixed and they worked fine for the week. Please note, I was not an avid Yelp user, but this situation turned me into a believer. I found the best rated brake place (Bob's Brake Service) and went to them. They looked at everything and discovered that I had been given the CHEAPEST brake pads and that a spring had been incorrectly placed back and that one was just floating around in the rotor. What horrid workmanship!!!! No wonder they give brake pad warranty for life! It is because they give you the cheapest brake pads so you can return and get quoted even more nonsense. Also, my rotors did NOT need to be resurfaced and my brake fluid was fine. Bob's replaced my brake pads and now my car works fine. WARNING: DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS MIDAS OR ANY MIDAS FOR THAT MATTER. I hope more people keep rating low so that this gets down to one star. And to the manager Kevin, if you enjoy screwing people in the ass so much, I hear prison is just the place to do it. And tell your mechanics to quit their day jobs. SJ out. read more

Awesome place to go for brakes. I was looking at the reviews and they didn't look so hot but I gave a call to Midas and Anthony answered the phone. He was very friendly and gave me a very competitive price so I gave them a try. I tell you that this was the best service that I have had in a long time. I informed Anthony that I read some reviews that weren't so good but came in anyway because of the Midas name and boy did I make the right choice. They have coffee and wifi for you to enjoy while you wait. There are dealerships that don't have coffee and especially not wifi. I am so glad that I didn't let the negative reviews steer me away from this auto shop because if was really a great experience. read more

I would never take my 1992 dodge dynasty to midas on 401e.Anaheim in long beach ever again they DO NOT know what they are doing. The service writer took my information from me when I got the bill it had a Cadillacs information. When I called him on it the service writer snatched the paper from my hand and said I got the wrong bill(I was the only customer there). Then I asked if I could see the specifications he set up the alignment machine at and it said a Chrysler dysnaty (no such car) dodge and Chrysler did not merge until 1996. My car is a DODGE DYNASTY. So they had no idea what they were doing. Plus they said it would be $600.00 more because I asked for an all wheel alignment and they needed to put shims on. Which was not mentioned on the first agreement I signed. I have a degree in automotive technology. I want the SUPPOSED ASE certified technician tested. read more

I was very disappointed by my experience at this location. I've been here in the past and never really had a big issue. I stopped by the other day to have my tire inspected I noticed I had a nail in it. I asked the gentleman at the counter what time they closed he looked at me and then looked outside and said around four-ish. He then shook his head before I could even finish my sentence and told me that it wouldn't even be done today because they were too busy. I then asked if someone could just take a look to see if my tire was even savable and he said they were all too busy to even look at it I was very disappointed with this experience and left very upset. I then went down to a different tire repair shop and they were not only polite but they also took care of my tire without hesitation, and they looked pretty busy as well. I just hope no one else has a bad experience like I did that day. I don't think I will be returning for any of my auto services. read more

Watch for the man with the missing tooth and over assertive propensity at the counter. He will try to bully you into maximizing his sales by stating that you need a service(s) that you likely do not. For example: I came in with a 2012 automobile w/17k miles and a coupon for an oil change for 24-26 dollars. He responded that he needed to see "what the system says first" I replied that I had very low miles and did not want or need the expensive synthetic oil. The little prince got quite annoyed and hostile in response my assertion for him to honor the coupon. It led to an hostile argument, in which I ended up walking out of the building, only to be followed out; where he walked out of the garage with a balled fist and apprehended me. I immed felt a bit threatened and in response almost created a little more airflow into his lungs by knocking his other tooth out. Nothing happened and I have warned King Midas about his menacing prince. To conclude, Midas needs to offer a better dental plan and re-evaluate and respond to their agent's myopic and reckless sales tactics. Next review will contain food commentary; sorry. read more

I did read the reviews beforehand, and although there were some negative reviews, the good ones outweighed the bad. Kevin, i believe was the manager, greeted us with a friendly smile and offered us donuts. Luis Ramirez was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He made me and my family feel at home. We were there for over an hour but we didnt mind. I had a coupon from Midas for an $19.99 oil change. Coupon was still valid. I have a mid size car. I pull into the parking lot and roll up in front of one of the bays and this guy looks at me and comes walking up to me and asks what is going on? Told him I would like an oil change and showed him the coupon. Right away he shook his head and said no he cannot honor that coupon. I asked why and he said the coupon was no good at his location.... They weren't busy I don't understand why he wouldn't just change my oil. Its not like I was asking for anything free. REALLY didn't like his attitude made me feel uncomfortable read more
