    Spicy Chicken Combo

The place doesn't really have much ambience it feels more like a takeout spot. There are two kiosks at the entrance where you place your order and receive a number with your name. I ordered their popular garlic spicy chicken combo with gyoza and added salad (an extra $0.50) and was also charged $0.10 for a bag, which felt a bit odd for a pickup-style restaurant. If this becomes your go-to spot, the bag charge could add up, so I'll probably bring my own bag next time. The food came out extremely fast, which made me wonder whether the chicken was freshly grilled when the order was placed. That said, the portion size is generous perfect for one person if you're really hungry, or shareable between two if you're just looking for a filling snack. The chicken was well-sauced and juicy, and the rice was also nicely coated, making the combination flavorful and not dry at all. The salad combination was a standout (worth the extra $0.50) the gyoza was crispy and delicious. Overall, I would definitely come back again.

I've walked by this place many times but never tried it because it looks sketchy as hell, until today. And I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The place was super busy which I wasn't expecting but the food still came out really quickly. It seems like this place has a small cult following due to the fast food and relatively good prices. I got the garlic spicy chicken with gyoza. The gyoza were just standard supermarket gyoza so nothing exciting there, but the chicken was pretty good. The chicken was tender, nicely fatty, and had a great amount of char that I love on teriyaki. The spicy sauce was like a mixture of teriyaki and gochujang, it had a good balance of sweet and salty and was lightly spicy. The garlic sauce added creaminess and lots of garlic flavor which I loved. My only complaint is the lack of vegetables. Eating a plate full of meat and rice is satisfying but I know my gut will regret it later. I also refuse to pay for steamed broccoli and replacing the rice for salad would make me a heathen.

First of all...I am beyond shocked at the rating of this place. I'm convinced ppl are rating it low so they can gate-keep this hidden gem. I am OBSESSED with this place! I didn't even like teriyaki before I tried Midori and now I order it at least once a week when I work from home (spicy garlic chicken combo..). One of the reasons I didn't like teriyaki before is bc I am picky about meat and previous teriyaki experiences often had fatty pieces that freaked me out, and/or, I felt like the sauce was dumped on at the end and it didn't have enough time to develop a rich flavor. I love Midori bc the chicken is fantastic; I have yet to see any questionable or fatty pieces that gross me out. I also think the flavor is well integrated and I get a lot of pieces with that grill/char flavor that I love. Anyway, in summary this place is great and you definitely don't want to skip this one!

food is ok - hard to go wrong with saucy garlicy stir fried chicken. but wont even fill box, paid $16 for this

This place is only open until 4pm. I went there a little before they closed. Placed an order on their computer and was just waiting for the food to come out. The food was okay but I wasn't impressed. I ordered spicy chicken with eggroll and some wontons. The chicken was okay. Wasnt really spicy . It sort of tasted like mexican candy. Overall, the food its meh. Nothing really especial about it. However, food was ready fast!

A solid teriyaki spot near downtown! the wait can be pretty long so be warned, it could be worth ordering ahead of time and picking up in store. A little pricey, and the side salad was unfortunately an extra 50 cents. But overall a yummy option! I loved the crispy chicken combo, and the spicy chicken had good flavor as well

gyatttttttt this place was so good. price is not that nice and the portion size for that price is *okay* but taste-wise this was so good. i just wish they had veggies in the plate without having the pay for extra, so i'd dock points for that. workers were very kind though, and the place looked somewhat clean. would come back again but not regularly because i can't justify the price/portion.

The spicy chicken is AMAZING. It does get crowded here during lunch and the sit in seats can feel a bit stuffy, but I love to order take out online ahead of time for a quick yummy lunch. Very generous portions, and the sauce is super flavorful. Order ahead online so you don't have to wait in line!

Sub par teriyaki. Go to Market House Meats right next door if they are open instead.

They don't take phone calls or reservations online - very old school. Which I think makes it more desirable. We ended up getting a special room with a "chabudai" style table! I was super excited because I've never experienced it before. What I did find pleasant was that although it was a lower table, there was an opening beneath the table that allowed your legs to hang rather than having to sit Indian style. Tyson was an amazing server. Was attentive, accommodated our allergies and was thoughtful with us having a young child. He was so pleasant and polite! We enjoyed the following: Baked miso glazed eggplant - YUM and melts in your mouth. Black Miso Cod Collar - this was pleasantly surprising and so delicious. Eat bite was tender and flavorful. Simple yet so appetizing. Sushi rolls were both fresh and well prepared. The nigiri was also great and fresh- not fishy. We additionally ordered takoyaki - which I normally don't love but this one was very tasty and I enjoyed the texture. Lastly karage chicken which came with a creamy slaw. Overall it was such a pleasant experience and we look forward to coming back!

Established in 1904 in the heart of Japantown, the restaurant relocated to the ground floor of the NP Hotel after its original structure was ransacked during World War II, when Seattle's Japanese community was relocated to internment camps outside the city. The hotel where Maneki now resides served as repository for family heirlooms that were left behind during that embarrassing and tragic period of American history. The joy of dining at Maneki goes well beyond the restaurant's incomparable history. The traditional Japanese menu has something for every taste, from delicious Nigiri and Maki Sushi to noodle dishes and local seafood. Pair your meal with a classic Japanese cocktail or a cold bottle of Sake, and you'll understand why this is one of Seattle's best culinary experiences. Highly recommended.

I sat at the sushi bar as it was just myself. For lunch, I opted in for the Power Lunch and it was fantastic. Served with 5 pieces of nigiri, seared salmon, miso soup, salad, edamame and more. The salad is great with the ginger dressing and the miso soup was flavorful with tofu. The nigiri was fresh and flavorful. Also got a shrimp tempura roll which was great with tempura shrimp and fresh avacado. Overall no complaints here. There are so many dishes I want to try and will be back soon for more.

**Thursday evening around 5:00 p.m., party of 2. No wait.**…read more Unfortunately, I'm going to have to echo several of the recent reviews about the slow service. When we were seated, there were only about three other occupied tables, all with couples. Two of those tables were already being served their food. We placed our order, but our food didn't arrive for about an hour despite the restaurant appearing to be fully staffed. To make matters worse, multiple tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. The long wait might have been easier to overlook if the food had been worth it, but it wasn't. I ordered the seven-piece sushi assortment with a baked crab roll, and more than four pieces of the fish were still partially frozen. The fish did not taste fresh, which was especially disappointing after such a long wait. An hour to assemble seven pieces of sushi seemed excessive. Seeing that more than half of the fish was still partially frozen made the hour-long wait make a lot more sense. Maybe they were waiting for it to defrost before serving it. My sister ordered a baked crab roll and two pieces of seared snow crab. The seared snow crab was completely forgotten until I had already finished my meal. We had to remind the staff before they rushed to prepare it. The baked crab roll itself was decent, but the combination of the extremely slow service, disorganized order handling, partially frozen fish, and forgetting an entire dish until we asked about it means we won't be returning.
