This is a great place to stop by for a quick lunch or dinner. In general, food gets to your table very quickly. There's a great selection and honestly, everything's pretty good. I personally love this place because they don't sprinkle sesame seeds everywhere (I have a sesame seed allergy). Their bentos are incredible and I highly recommend you get one. I will say the tables for two and next to an open doorway and can get pretty cold but other than that the vibes are great. I am really happy to have a traditional Japanese sushi joint open up in this area. I love the service here, the prices are reasonable, and most importantly, the sushi tastes fresh and delicious. So far I have only gotten takeout, but the environment inside the restaurant seems nice and clean. On one of my visits, the woman actually chased me down the sidewalk because she had forgotten to give me a packet of soy sauce and she wanted me to enjoy my meal to the fullest. :-). read more

Could have been better. Service was SLOW. No toilet paper or hand towels in ladies bathroom. Ordered the beef don bowl. Some of the beef was gristle. Large portions however. Tempura was weird. I don't even know what veggies were in there. Normally when I get tempura it has things such as carrots, peppers, broccoli, onions, mushrooms. This place had weird stuff like taro and other unrecognizable veggies. The shrimp tempura was really good and the people I was with liked the sushi. I don't do sushi for health reasons. Take this with a grain of salt, because I'm a fat old white guy, so my opinion of ethnic food is a little skewed. There's a lot of sushi to be had in Seattle. Some of it is good, some is okay, and some is... feh. Migoto is currently my favorite, not just because the sushi is good, but there's so much else going on here. Feeling noodly? Have some udon! Feeling cold? How about some oyako don? Not sure how you feel? Start with the miso soup and a cup of green tea and see where it takes you. I work in the neighborhood and find myself here at least twice a week. (And the area is not lacking for good food.) Not only is the food really good, the staff is very attentive and friendly. (Shout out to Tinana!) I've never left feeling unsatisfied or mistreated (and how often can you say that). I also love the multicultural atmosphere here -- it truly is a reflection of the city -- and it definitely contributes to the overall experience. (I'm really turned off by ethnic food that's cooked and served by white folks, and you know the kind of places I'm talking about.) This will be our new neighborhood sushi spot - excellent quality and service from start to finish. We were offered $5 cocktails on a Sunday evening (menu said $8.50). We weren't in it for the cocktails, but for that price we couldn't refuse. I got a ginger cosmo and my fiancé got a sour apple sake martini - both surprisingly good, and my fiancé was extremely impressed by the sliced apple garnish expertly sliced and fanned out like a Japanese parasol. For food, we ordered a side salad, vegetable tempura, tofu and veggies udon and royal dragon roll. The $7 side salad was entree sized and included a perfect avocado half. All portions were larger than expected and delicious! Our server told us they had a special shipment of New Zealand salmon and the nigiri was exquisite... we'll definitely be keeping our ears open for the special the next time we come here! read more

We live down the street and are so excited this sushi place opened up in the neighborhood! We tried it for dinner and were very impressed with the service and the food. The hostess was accommodating and extremely nice. We sat at a table and the place was just starting to pick up. (Students are on break right now so I anticipate it being much busier soon.) She offered us a deal on cocktails as they are trying out their drink menu and wanted honest feedback on them. We were also served hot tea upon sitting, which is a nice touch. We got miso soup, gyoza, salmon sashimi, a tuna roll that I can't remember the name of, and the 007 roll. The miso soup was decent, and the fish was fresh. Where they really shined was the homemade steamed gyoza. I haven't had better in the city, and I eat a lot of dumplings. The pork was juicy and the wrapper was light and just perfectly cooked. Wow, very delicious and fresh sushi. Prices are average for Seattle I would say. I ordered salmon nigiri, volcano roll, and spicy salmon roll. Everything was absolutely fresh and high quality. After ordering at a different sushi place a few days after here that was disgusting it made Migoto even better in my eyes. They are able to do delivery for free right now with a minimum of $35 purchase as well after 4pm I believe. Keeps fresh through delivery! read more

Yummmm! Perfect location for a sushi place. They really turned the inside of the building around. It updated and feels upscale. They have a good diverse menu. They serve a lot of non-sushi dishes as well. Plenty of vegetarian options. The food was really good! I got the tofu tempura roll and it's one of the best vegetarian rolls I've had. Definitely fresh and full of flavor. Made perfectly. Im already looking forward to coming back It was 12:30 on a Saturday and we were the only ones there. Amazing little sushi joint. Don't be fooled, the bowls/Don are also amazing. Very clean, tight kept space with friendly service and really really good sushi. The rice alone was seasoned properly and was the best rice I've had with fresh sushi in a very long time. This spot has many Americanized sushi rolls with very cute names :) Upon walking in, the ambiance is very clean, relaxed and chill. The lights are dim while the decor is very nice and natural. I like the look and feel of the interior. While waiting for my food, the workers were also very nice and talkative! I only got sushi rolls, but they're so good I would have to come again to try their other options. The fish is very good and fresh, while their fried rolls are very warm and crunchy. Our #1 sushi spot, hands down. We go here so much we're considered VIP and it's for a reason. Migoto never disappoints. Ever. John, the sushi chef, makes sure we know what's good. Fresh is a given so we don't even need to ask. He also surprises us with little delicacies...for example, a little bowl of poke with our favorite fish. He knows what to do. Khoi...man, where do I start! He's so attentive, friendly and remembers us every time. Both have such an extensive knowledge of sushi and even have given us tips on the best way to eat it. Very glad that a Japanese restaurant added in this neighborhood and the dishes are quite nice and priced decently. They have a lot of selections in the menu from traditional Japanese appetizers to entrees (Don Buri, Udon and Bento Box). Sashimi is fresh. Love the grilled squid, very yummy! This place was not as good as we would have liked it to be. First, our server was super strange and quiet and not very personable. I feel like most servers can tell when it is appropriate or best to approach a party, but this girl would stop by at the strangest times and she took forever to bring us things. Further, we went to this place specifically for geoduck, which was listed on the place's website/Yelp and the menu. We are from out of town and it isn't available where we live. However, when we ask for it, we were told that they didn't have it and that they don't carry it. There were two other pieces of sushi that we tried to order that they also were out of and did not carry. Why would you list something on the menu if you don't carry it? The food was great nonetheless, but heated outdoor dining?? Absolute no. It's more like a first come first serve for the heat. They literally had two tables who had the heaters pointed directly at them, while my table and another were left freezing cold. Having only three heaters, you would think they would position them in a way that the heat would try to hit everyone, but no. They literally had the heaters pointing to only two tables. Super overpriced sushi and not fresh, one step above grocery store quality sushi. When i say overpriced, I mean $15 for a California roll overpriced.
