We had Mini Potstickers on our list for a good reason, and the reviews were absolutely right. The mini potstickers were the perfect bite-sized dumplings--flavorful, juicy, and finished with a satisfying crispy bottom. The filling of pork and chives was incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. The only small criticism is that the dumpling wrapper was a bit thick; a thinner dough would have made them even better. I'd also love to see even more of that classic cornstarch lace and extra crunch on the bottom. The real surprise, however, was the siu mai. It completely stole the show. It was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor, with wood ear mushrooms and shiitake adding great texture and depth. The pork tasted clean and well-seasoned, without any of the strong "porky" or gamey flavor you sometimes get. Easily the best siu mai I've ever had. A must-order is the shrimp soup to go with your dumplings. It's the perfect pairing and rounds out the meal beautifully. Service was fast and genuinely friendly, and the tea was excellent as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small, with about 10 tables, so expect it to fill up around lunchtime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in the area, it's absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back.
Mini Potstickers has been my go to for delicious potstickers and authentic Chinese burritos :) The mini potstickers were packed with favor and juice that I wished I had order two instead of one. For the Chinese burritos, I loved how it's made to order! Service was relatively fast- heads up, there was a 30 minutes wait for the burrito.
Somehow food in mini size makes things more fun and tasty! Stopped by here to pick up a dozen mini potstickers on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy with a few parties waiting outside but I was easily able to make a to-go order without a line. It took about 10-15 minutes for the order to be ready, so we just sat on the tables outside. The dumplings were delicious! Since we only got a dozen, I wasn't expecting to be full, but I was satisfied with the amount. The dumplings are nicely juicy without being too soggy. I'd come back here again for another order.
Yum! This spot is always busy, but the service is pretty fast and efficient. I think the mini potstickers (mini pan fried pork buns) are the best item on the menu, which makes sense given the restaurant's name! They are super crispy, packed with flavor, and filled with soup inside. They are basically mini sheng jian bao. My other favorite is the chinese burrito/pancake. I like getting it with pork floss. It is huge and easily shareable for 2-4 people since they cut it into smaller pieces. Sichuan hot and spicy dumplings are also good. XLB here is just okay in my opinion. I would focus on their more unique specialties instead. Overall, a great spot to check out and definitely worth trying!
The restaurant was already open before 10:00am so we stopped by to try 3 items. The Chinese burrito was crispy, delicious, and a generous portion. The Sichuan dan dan noodles were okay. My favorite was the pork dumplings which had a nice chewy dumpling skin. It's a small place, and service was friendly & efficient. It was easy to find street parking nearby when we got there in the morning.
My friend and her mom did the ordering and got mini potstickers, Xiao long bao, braised beef noodles, and the celery & mushroom salad for me to try as part of a large pick up order for their family of 5 who live walking distance from the restaurant. The staff were gracious and had our order ready earlier than we expected. By the time we walked back to my friend's house and she got food ready for her kids & mom, the potstickers had lost their crispiness and the XLB were too cold for me to fully enjoy (I like my food very hot). The flavors of both dishes were good (especially with me adding the chili oil to my food, as my friend's family doesn't eat anything spicy) and I liked the noodles' tasty broth and the freshness of the veggies in the salad. I agree with other Yelpers who said that the potstickers & XLB might not be the best options for takeout. I will return with my partner (who also likes spicy food) to dine in so we can get fresh crispy potstickers and spicy XLB while they're hot!
Got 1 order of Mini Potstickers, came with 12 pieces $13.99 w/o tax It was yummy, nice pop of flavor, not a 5/5 because wrapper could be thinner. The potstickers were coated in oil. I like the amount of green onions included along with black sesame seeds. The line is a little confusing. You go inside to place your takeout order through an iPad, however it is the same line for people dining in. There were a few parties that put their name in for seating but stood in line so there was bit of congestion. Management should remind people to wait outside until their name is called. Street parking only, if you get lucky there are metered spots in front or residential street parking around the corner. Would come back if I'm in the area and wanted a fried potsticker fix

The hot chicken flavor "burrito" is also good but you need to eat this immediately, otherwise it'll get soggy. When a Bay Area local Top Chef World champion annoints you as a favorite, you've got my attention. The bookmark button was quickly clicked and it was only a matter of time. For weeks, I tried to find a day after work for an early dinner. Finally the past Tuesday, I came here around 5:30 pm, finding a metered parking spot around the corner on 21st Avenue. Unsure of the restaurant location, I crossed to the north side of Irving where most restaurants are found. Only after not seeing it did not learn that it's on the south side next to the corner donut shop. Walking in, there was a couple eating on the left side of the relatively small dining room (7 tables for two, 2 tables for four). I studied the menu and pretty much knew what I wanted to try. The broth was nice with medium deep flavors while they noodles, on the thicker side meshed well with everything. I would have this again. They are dim sum sized. They make their own chili sauce so do use that if you enjoy them on the spicy side along with the table provided black vinegar. The dumplings were medium juicy. I liked the generous green onions that topped this as well as the black sesame seeds. I tried one later that evening at home and enjoyed it, trying two slices as I watched TV. This was the thinner, layered version as opposed to some places that do a doughy version. Initially, it was one lady greeting incoming guests and waiting on tables but a second lady came about 30 minutes later. There was a steady flow of customers, couples and a solo diner, while I ate. There were a number of customers who ordered at the iPad just inside the doorway for takeout. I enjoyed my meal and everything was fine. After leaving and walking about a half block towards my car, I noticed that my small box of unfinished potstickers was not in my takeout bag. I went back and they found it packed with the other takeout and quickly apologized and handed it to me. I look forward to trying more items on their menu when I return. #2200.
Was really excited to try this place after seeing Chef Melissa King post about it on IG but i thought it was just ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is pretty small inside and there are two tiny tables outside but you have to order to-go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a self service kiosk for to-go orders too. We tried the mini pan fried pork buns, the beef noodle soup, and a jianbing with chicken and beef (you get to pick two meat options). The mini pork buns were pretty oily but did have a good amount of soup inside them. The beef noodle soup had a really strong star anise flavor that i personally am not a fan of but my mom liked it. The jianbing was pretty soggy and hard to eat. The chicken and beef were sort of like lunch meat slices with shredded lettuce and some hot sauce. Wouldn't order it again but if there's a next time i'd try the burrito instead
We came by Mini Potstickers to try their signature dish and got an order of mini potstickers and jianbing (Chinese burrito) with sausage and chicken. I also wanted the Shanghai style tofu pudding but they they were sold out for the day. The mini potstickers were yummy with a good amount of soup inside considering how small they are. It's fun to eat in one bite and I can see why this would be a great to-go snack. I do think they're on the oily side and would still prefer regular shengjianbao. The jianbing was pretty good as well - I like the thin crispy cracker layered inside for crunch and it had a good kick from the chili sauce. It felt a bit odd that the chicken they use is a thinly sliced deli meat chicken but I surprisingly liked the inclusion of lettuce and one is large enough to share between 2 people. Overall solid meal, we were full from just sharing the 2 items as they're pretty carb heavy and while it didn't quite live up to the expectations of the snack foods I love in China, it still hit the spot. We did experience couple of small mishaps like our server accidently added on an item that we then got corrected once the order slip came and we asked for no cilantro in the jianbing but still got cilantro. They're busy for sure but the service felt pretty messy even for a casual spot.

WHEN: Sat @ 11:30am We were actually on our way to another food spot when we came across this place. After order from the other place we backtracked and came here because the images they had on the outside walls look delicious. There is a digital kiosk to order form and this is what we ordered: MINI PAN FRIED PORK BUN (12) - $12.99 O.M.G. This came out WAY better than expected! It's pretty much smaller versions f the xiao long BAO soup dumplings but also pan fried! And it's served with so much green onions! There's so much wonderful textures going on: Soft, crispy bottom dough that is thin (not thick!), filled with juicy tender minced pork with so much flavor! The order comes with chili sauce, and other stuff in packets but there is no need for any of it. It's so tasty! After ordering, the wait was a bit long (10 minutes), so I took the opportunity to use the restroom, which was clean. But you know what, the 10-min wait was worth because it was made to order and I just realized this ain't no fast food boba shop we just ordered from! It's a proper sit down restaurant with several tables inside, and a several chairs and a table outside. So happy we backtracked to try this place. Loved it so much. I wanted to love this place but I'm so disappointed that they shorted our takeout order. They had my husband wait around specifically because they were making the Chinese burrito we ordered, so he assumed they included it in the bag. Nope! We paid for it and got shafted. Make sure to triple check your orders before leaving. read more

Small hole in the wall restaurant on Irving St in Sunset serving dumplings, noodles, mini potstickers, and something called jia bing which is also known as has Chinese burrito. I've had the Jia bing before but didn't try this time. It's a flour based pancake similar to a Chinese onion pancake wrapped with shredded pork, lettuce and sauce. The sauce is generally hoisin based. After wrapping, the exterior is seared for a slight crispy and chewy texture. It's definitely worth a try if you haven't had it before. Today we ordered the boiled dumplings with pork, shrimp, and chives fillings called three flavor dumpling as well as an order of mini potstickers. With all the dumpling places in the Bay Area, these dumplings don't really stand out but nevertheless, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Probably what makes this place a little unique are the mini potstickers which are pork buns the size of xia long biaos that are pan fried. Be sure to have these with the vinegar based and spicy sauces that are self served on the table. Compare to other dumpling places, I find the prices here fairly affordable and is a good option if you want to have some snacks or lunch. read more

This was my second time at Mini Potstickers--the first with a dear friend, and now with my partner, which made this visit feel extra special. We shared the Three Flavor Dumplings (pork, shrimp, and chives) along with the Jian Bing Guo Zi with beef and sausage--both absolutely delicious and made with such care. The flavors were comforting, like a warm hug in every bite. The staff were kind and accommodating, even at the end of what must have been a long day. We forgot to request no cilantro (not their fault at all!), and instead of asking them to redo it, we simply set it aside. The food was still wonderful, and their service spoke for itself. A cozy spot, heartfelt flavors, and the kind of place that turns a simple meal into a memory. read more
A newly opened Chinese restaurant that has some notable dishes from across multiple regions. They have delicious dumplings and Chinese burritos, but of course, their mini dumplings are good. Don't be dismayed by the typos on the menu! The space has limited seating, so make sure to come early for larger groups. Updating after trying the jian bing with chicken (what they call "Chinese burrito"). Really delicious! Good portion and you see them make it fresh. The bing itself (the wrapper) has great texture - nice and chewy. Sauce is flavorful and the crispy layer is great. I also like how much veg they add. The only thing that could have been better is that the chicken option is just a few slices of deli meat - I wish it was at least some regular chicken pieces. read more
Looking for a quick lunch, we called ahead to order from Mini Potstickers. We thought it might take awhile but they said our order would be ready in 10 minutes! It's kind of a small store so it's a good thing we decided to do take-out and ended up eating in front of our car on the same street. Mini Pan Fried Pork Bun: These are so cute! Comes with 12 little pork buns. Make sure you understand the difference between gyozas and pork buns so you're not disappointed. They're both pan-fried but pork buns will have a fluffy, white bread. To our surprise, each one was pretty juicy and the bottom was still kind of crispy despite being take-out. Also comes with a side of chili oil, which isn't very spicy but has a deep, nutty flavor. Wonton Soup: Perfect for a cold day, this soup came with 10 wontons. They had thicker skin but it was still good. The soup has a strong seafood flavor, probably shrimp-based. Delicious, quick meal! Would love to dine-in and try their other dishes someday. read more
We saw the restaurant making the Chinese burrito in the window and decided to go in and try. It's a thin eggy and crispy exterior, with dried shredded pork and lettuce on the inside. It was light weight and reminded me of a street food type of snack. It was a fun bite to share among other classic dishes like pig ear, spicy wonton, and soup dumplings. This spot is worth a try, but for similar items I have other go to restaurants in the area read more

Really disappointed by the Jianbing here. My partner and I ordered 2 Jianbing, one for each person but wasn't told how big one portion is. Only when the food came out did we see one order includes 2 Jianbing so we ended up with 4 total. We told the staff this was too much and we wouldn't be able to finish it but they said it was too late. Wished our waiter had given us the heads up before ordering as we ended up not eating the rest. Jianbing: 0/10 Flavors were really unbalanced, and they put way too much pork floss. Did not taste authentic. I hate wasting food but it was a struggle to finish. The salted soy milk: 5/10 Surprisingly was more acidic than expected. Wished the youtiao bread came as a side so it wasn't soggy sitting n the soup Celery peanut salad: 7/10 The dish I liked the most. Refreshing, salty, and crunchy read more

Mini Potstickers came highly recommended to my fiancé and I as a go-to spot in Sunset so we gave it a try when we were in the area. It seems like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. It's small with extremely personable service and delicious, comforting food! We shared a looooot of food! As usual, we over-ordered but I always welcome leftovers. We got the beef noodle soup, pork & veggie wonton soup, Dan Dan noodles, chili oil wontons and their mini potstickers! You really get the Sichuan flavors from the Dan Dan noodles! There's a little numbing feeling from it that comes from the peppers, which helped me eat the noodles more since I'm not big on spice. The noodles also had a nice chewy and bouncy texture! My favorite was the wonton soup. It was a cold day in SF so the soup was super comforting! The wontons are a decent size and the soup was subtle yet flavorful. The mini potstickers are a must as well! Crispy on the outside with a slight chew from the dumpling wrapper and a hot, delicious filling inside! Parking can be rough in this area since there are so many businesses around, but if you get lucky, you might be able to snag a parking spot in the nearby residential area. We really had a great experience here. The portions were pretty decent. The servers were quick and nice but seating is limited. Food: Chinese burrito with beef + pork floss -- would recommend this!! There was a decent amount of protein, the crisp was incredible. A bit too salty/saucy but still managable. The fried dumplings were juicy and perfect. I have been wanting to try this place! My daughter and I came in on a Sunday around 1:30pm. We were greeted upon entering and were immediately seated. The menu is simple, but has exactly what I'd want which makes it easier to make decisions. We didn't want to go overboard since it was just the two of us, so here's what we got: Mini potstickers (12 pieces) Pork dumplings (12 pieces, no soup) Braised beef noodle soup Everything was delicious. The mini potstickers are THE perfect size. Service is good. Servers are friendly and accommodating. The price point is very good for what we get. read more
Found my new favorite go-to noodle and dumpling restaurant in sunset.. wow. Even my picky eater mother loves it here! Must try the mini potstickers and beef noodle soup, loved the chive pancakes as well and want to try the ones with filling next time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my toddler. The only downside is the restaurant does not seat many, we were lucky to grab the last table for lunch on a Thursday. I will definitely be back to try more items! read more

5/5 Stars San Francisco residents are gatekeeping this place. I fear this will be my new go-to spot. Came in kinda late on Friday, parking wasn't hard to find nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There basically wasn't anyone there so we sat down and immediately ordered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very casual and we got our food very shortly after ordering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The employees are super chill too. I like how the individual plates have their own sauce compartment, which makes the eating experience quick and easy. I heard that they're known for the dumplings so that's what we got: - Mini Pan Fried Pork Buns ($14): WOW, the crispy bottom to the pork buns is the best I've seen, especially given the price. When I bit into it, the juices burned my tongue (I was impatient, my fault) but it was so worth it. The skin isn't too thick or thin, and the meat is super flavorful, especially with the green onion. 100% order this, it's fun to eat too. - Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) ($12): I'm gonna say it - better than Din Tai Fung. The dumplings themselves are bigger, and it's simply more flavorful and the skin is sooo so thin (in a good way). And for the price?? Nothing can really beat this. You can literally see in the photo that the skin is slightly translucent because it's so thin. They just recently opened and deserve a visit! The staff is very warm and helpful. They gave excellent recommendations with awesome service. They sure we got attended to and feel comfortable. The inside has plenty of seating. My only feedback are the tables can be on the smaller size to how much food we end up ordering. The food was fantastic with large size. The noodles were fabulous. We were so filled we couldn't even touch the pancake but it was a great take home bite. Definitely stop by or get to go! read more
Finally tried mini potstickers and it was sooo good we will definitely be going back. The wontons in spicy sauce and braised beef noodle soup HIT THE SPOT! Good amount of beef in the soup and the chili oil was slightly numbing. read more

The jianbing here is massive. They cut it in half for you. Luckily I shared it with my partner. Ordering is at the kiosk only. You can choose up to 2 meat fillings: chicken, sausage, beef and pork floss. You can see them making it right in front of you behind the window. Taste wise, it wasn't the same as I had in Beijing. I get it, it's their version of the jianbing but it's not something I'd try again. I prefer my jianbing to be flatter with less fillings. It was also a bit annoying when the paper wrapping kept getting stuck to the burrito as I was trying to peel it away to eat. I would however return again to try their other items on their menu like their mini pan fried dumplings. read more

This is a cute Chinese spot on Irving! Service is quick and super friendly!! The jian bing was a little dry (lettuce felt weird inside). But the three flavor dumplings (not pictured whoops) were SO good. Just solid, homemade dumplings that I could eat all day. I'll be back to try and review the noodles and other dishes! But try their homemade dumplings! read more

My friend and I came here on a weekend afternoon, and there was seating available around lunchtime. While there was an area on the outside that allowed for to-go ordering, we walked further inside towards their seating area. The restaurant was not too noisy, allowing us to have a mid-level noise conversation between us. The waiters were quite attentive to us, giving us hot tea when we arrived. We ordered the Chinese burrito with beef and sausage, and we also ordered the pork dumplings (without soup). While the pork dumplings were good & nothing too unique for my taste, my friend and I really enjoyed the Chinese burrito! The sauce along with elements of the crispiness and crunchiness made it a very unique dish at this place. The portion for the burrito was also a lot greater than expected, with it being cut in half when served. I'd love to come back and try their soup dumplings one day! read more

Food: Mini potstickers: 3.5/5. Decent potstickers with the perfect size of one-bites! Not the best I've had, but they're still yummy! chinese burrito (chicken): 3/5. Very large, perfect for 2 ppl. The fillings are okay, the chicken appears to be processed slices of meat which wasn't very appealing to me. Wish there was more seasoning/sauce. It really lacked any sort of flavor. Tofu dessert: 2.5/5. It was perfectly sweetened soy hints of floral which complimented the tofu well. I only rate it so low because it was not smooth at all as it should be. It was super grainy. Service: Very quick and polite service. Overall: The potstickers were decent and service was good. Was excited to try the chinese burritos because there's not a lot of places like that in SF but was mildly disappointed. Would probably come here again to try more of the dumpling options. read more

Visited on a Saturday around 2pm with a friend. Restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated after after a few minutes of waiting. Space is small maybe 10-12 tables so be prepared to wait but tables turn pretty quickly. Food: Savory Soy Milk - good, served warm with chinese doughnuts, herbs, pickles, soy milk was creamy with a slightly thick texture mild soy flavor, herb added freshness and pickles added a salty punch Mini potsticker - very tasty, more of a mini XLB, wrappers were crispy on the bottom with a nice chew and fairly thin, filling was meaty and savory with a nice amount of broth, well balanced overall, served piping hot, definitely worth a try Service was good, friendly and efficient. Water or tea was offered upon being seated. Once orders were placed only took a few minutes before food arrived. Overall really enjoyed dumplings and soy milk at this spot, fun twist on a XLB/potsticker. Would like to comeback to try the Chinese burrito which looked amazing. read more

The beef soup noodles were decent, but overall nothing particularly memorable. The broth leaned a bit too sweet for my taste, and while the spice level was okay, it didn't really stand out compared to other places. The portion and quality were acceptable, just not something that would make me go out of my way to return. It's an average spot to try once, but probably not somewhere I would visit again. read more

Loved everything we got here The mini panfried pork buns were perfect and juicy. Cucumber salad was refreshing. So simple but so good. Lastly we got the beef and chicken chinese burrito. It had so much flavor. The restroom was quite small but service is really fast and efficient. We came at 2pm on a Saturday there was seated right away. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes. The noodles looked delicious. read more
Thoroughly enjoyed everything we got here, mini and normal sized! The food was super flavorful and portions were pretty hefty. We got the mini pan fried pork buns, pork and vegetable wontons, and a Chinese burrito with beef. We were surprised and delighted to see that the wontons came 10 to an order, the burrito was large enough for 2 to share, and the mini potstickers came with a good amount as well. We had almost ordered more food, but after digging in I'm glad we didn't because we already had food leftover from these 3 items. We liked everything that we got, and especially liked the chili oil that came on the side...the only thing that wasn't big enough because we devoured it. It wasn't too spicy and actually had quite a bit of flavor rather than just heat. I would absolutely order everything that we got again! We ordered food to go, and it was ready a few minutes before it said it would be. It was piping hot and stayed that way for a while. read more
We've been wondering about this spot. The place only has a few tables and is quite small, so they did not have any tables available when we arrived. We ended up placing an order at the kiosk for three flavored boiled dumplings (pork, shrimp, chives) without soup (12). It took a little over 10 minutes to get our to-go order. Although it was made in house, the dough was a bit thicker than I would have liked. But the filling was good and tasty. They only give hot chili oil for to-go orders, so be sure to ask for other condiments like soy sauce and vinegar too. What a soothing and filling meal! Our party of 5 came on a weekend was able to get seated fairly quickly. We ordered both the fish and wagyu dumplings. While they were juicy and packed with filling I found both fillings to be a bit flat. The beef noodle soup had the most tender meat! I did find myself wanting a beefyer flavor from the soup. Now for the restaurant namesake, the mini potstickers were a hit. They were juicy, the skin wasn't too thick and had crispy bottoms. We also ordered a warm soy milk where you can adjust the sweetness yourself but adding white sugar. The meal was quite filling and the service was quick. We love this dumpling place! Some of our favorites include their eponymous "mini potstickers" and braised beef noodle soup. Everything we've tried is tasty, served hot, prepared very well and darn tasty! We're regulars and their main server always greets us warmly! read more

First time coming here with my partner. Mini Pan Fried Pork Bun- Nice bite size. Thinner skin compared to the traditional 上前包 but still crispy bottom. I personally like the traditional ones over this one but overall pretty good and would get again Pork and Vegetable Wonton- the soup with the wonton was nice with the black fungus. My partner did not like the dumplings but I thought it tasted ok Three Flavor Dumpling- tasty dumplings and what you would expect for a shrimp/pork/chive dumpling. My partner also did not like it as much but I thought it tasted fine The service was pretty good with them given free hot tea and refilling without being prompted. They also helped packed our leftover! Would def consider coming again and prob will order the Chinese burrito they have. Though I will say I feel I've had better dumplings in the sf area though this place is not the worst. read more
A fantastic spot to get some sorely lacking northern chinese cuisine in the hubbub of the Sunset, Mini Potstickers delivers in authenticity, efficiency and flavor. Top tier are the titular mini potstickers (aka sheng jian bao) are little bite size marvels of crispy wrapper, hot soup and juicy pork. They're a can't miss! Everything else is also great and over the course of several visits I've devoured the warm and filling beef noodle soup, the northern Chinese street food jian bing (here "Chinese burrito", I probably recommend beef and pork filling, avoid sausage since it's just hot dog), the sichuan wontons (so good!) and several others! Also worth mentioning is that there are some other northern dishes like dou fu nao which are hard to find in the city. The service is quick and friendly, and it gives a hole in the wall vibe. I've never had to wait long to eat here even though it's usually pretty busy and that along the great food, keeps me coming back! read more
