We did take out for the family bc our go to sushi spot has closed for good but I used to come here for the green dragon roll during my lunch when I worked in this plaza so I trusted it! The email said it would be ready 7:51 but it did take an extra few minutes (no biggie it was a big order). The inside is as you would expect a sushi spot but the seats are pretty close together so it's not super spacious. The food review TLDR it's good but not amazing but it's also kinda pricey. To be fully transparent we ordered 11 rolls, 2 nigiri, one salmon bento all for a total of $220. I think the price is steep but I know inflation is hurting us all but still hard to pay that much for good but not mind blowing sushi. This hole in the wall sushi place is a real hidden gem. I've been coming here for years because their fish is fresh and rolls are delicious. It may not be getting any Michelin stars soon, but the value is unbeatable. Each roll is massive and they give you so much fish. I never walk out of here hungry, which is something finer sushi places tend to make me feel. Or maybe I'm just getting fat! I've tried a lot of what they have and I highly recommend the crazy roll, spicy rainbow and double rainbow. This really maximizes how much fresh fish you get. The sauces work really well together too. The only downside to this place is their inconsistency. When they're busy, the quality of their rolls are noticeably worse. SAKE BUTTER GOOD & VEGETABLE TEMPURA When I first searched Mioki Sushi the one picture that really looked seducing was the sake don. Once I had that dish at another restaurant, but I didn't like it as there was too much rice and the slices were skimpy. What really lured me with the sake don from Mioki Sushi is the fat lines on the salmon like fat marbling on a steak. The first time I came to Mioki Sushi I didn't order the sake don as I wanted to try another main entree, which was katsu donburi. I ordered that item as at that time I was craving for something breaded and deep-fried. For appetizers I ordered shrimp and vegetables tempura. When I got the tempura appetizer I thought it was going to be another regular tempura. I was wrong. The vegetable tempura was better than the shrimp tempura. As someone who doesn't like eating vegetables that says a lot. The breading was light and crispy. I like the shrimp tempura, but the vegetable tempura stood out. The katsu donburi on the other hand was a major disappointment for me; the meat was dry. One of my pet peeves in food is if the meat in a deep-fried item is dry. I couldn't enjoy the katsu donburi. If I came to Mioki Sushi specifically for the katsu donburi I wouldn't have come back again. My second time I came to Mioki Sushi was for the sake don. I like the vegetable tempura so much I ordered it again, but without the shrimp. When I ate the vegetable tempura again it reminded me why I like this dish as the vegetable were crispy. Also the breading wasn't oily and that's the reason why I ordered the tempura again. Usually when I order tempura at a restaurant once that means I didn't like it if I go back to that restaurant. The saki don exceeded my expectations. The sake tasted like butter. I know by the color and fat lines the salmon was farm raised. If the salmon tastes great who cares if it is not wild. The saki was sliced in thick chunks. The portion of the rice was enough. What I really liked was how the rice was seasoned well better than most sushi rice I've eaten. I look at the sake don at Mioki Sushi as a sushi bowl. After my second visit I didn't think about coming back here soon. As this eatery is a sushi bar I had to order sushi. My third time I came here for sushi. I wasn't thinking about ordering sake as sushi, but when I looked at the sushi menu I ordered the Sake Lover, which comes with 5-piece sashimi, 2-piece nigiri, and 6-piece maki. I also ordered the shrimp tempura. Even though I enjoyed the shrimp tempura I preferred the vegetable tempura. The item Sake Lover is appropriately named. If you really like salmon you get three different ways to eat it. Each time I ate the salmon there was a buttery texture. I'm not a tea connoisseur, but I enjoyed the tea at Mioki Sushi because the tea was toasted rice. I enjoyed this tea more than any jasmine tea I've had at Chinese restaurants. I never had toasted rice as a tea before, but after having tea at Mioki Sushi the first time I went to Ranch 99 to buy toasted rice tea. During my eating experience at Mioki Sushi the only item I didn't like was the katsu donburi, which I would rate it as a 2-star. The shrimp tempura was a 3-star. The vegetable tempura, sake don, and Sake Lover were all 5-star items. The overall rating I gave for Mioki Sushi is appropriately fair. read more

What a great find! We ordered a variety of things- salmon teriyaki, beef teriyaki, two rolls tempura, and sashimi platter. It was delicious. Sashimi was so good! The service was wonderful and though they were busy this evening, the servers didn't skip a beat. They have us a free tempura bean appetizer and fresh pineapple for dessert. I t was Tasty!!! 15 minutes later my Bento Box arrived !!! It Consisted of Beef Teriyaki , House Salad , Rice , and Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura!!! This is our goto place for Sushi! It's a nice size place. Not to big or small. The service is always excellent. My wife and I always pick two rolls. This is plenty for both of us. Everything was perfect! This restaurant has a lovely interior and vibe. It's always good to have a line on a Saturday evening, and the service workers are so communicative. They take the time to check in with the patrons waiting in line. When we were sat down after a 10 minute wait, immediately we were served a small dish of complimentary tempura green beans. I'm not sure if this is customary or to thank us for our patience, but the gesture was very appreciated. It was pleasantly surprising to see that though the prices were around 20 dollars for the dinner combination bentos, the portions were large. For chicken teriyaki and sashimi, I was treated to a heaping hot plate of chicken, and I was given a nice portion of 6 sashimi pieces (tuna and salmon). It's not particularly groundbreaking, but it's rare for me to enjoy the portions of a meal this much. The service staff were super friendly and nice to us, refilling our water and checking in the perfect amount of times. I ordered from Mioki for birthday dinner and it was really disappointing, horrible quality and food lacked flavor. I ordered the shrimp curry donburi, gyoza, chicken teriyaki child's plate and a special roll with tempura, spicy tuna, shredded fake crab meat served like a California roll that had spicy sauce. They changed recipes on everything, cut corners relying on frozen tempura from Costco or warehouse food, no salt. Spicy tuna had no soy sauce and the everythi.g had no salt or seasoning. Although it's still big portions but flavors were lackluster. I am not going back when business owners changed entire recipes to save money but inflated prices big time. Not worth going here anymore. Owner is taking money from low quality food now. It's such a shame this is how business owner runs a Japanese with low quality food run by an owner who is delusional about profits, greediness and not care about his food's quality. I suggest you go back to the original recipes and not change the recipes to save money. The old recipes were nostalgic to many and people keep coming. Your decision to cut corners is a huge risk but a horrible one. Decrease your portions and prices but keep the old recipes. People will comeback eventually. This is the cutest local mom and pop shop in Fremont! My coworkers and I made a reservation here for 5 and was seated right away when we came. This place has a mixture of booths and tables but since we were a big group, we sat at a table. We started off with some hot tea which was great and the waitress refilled it for us often. We orders Takoyaki as an appetizer and had some miso soup, which was complimentary. I appreciated the soup so much, as it was nice on a cold day. The Takoyaki was crunchy and had plenty of mayo and dried bonito flakes. The waitress also gave us some grilled salmon Kama (collar) on the house as well and it was so delicious! We ordered several rolls, all of which were good. Keep in mind, these rolls are SO BIG! Definitely worth your money! One roll could have fed me for sure. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but every single time I've been here it's been a great experience. Last week I went with my girlfriends and as usual their staff were so sweet & made us feel special. For appetizer we got hamachi collar, edemame and they gave us a free sake collar. This is a local sushi spot that has been around since 2007! They have really fresh seafood, including toro, uni, and raw oysters! My favorite cuts were their escolar and salmon. I ordered the chirashi don, which is an assortment of fish with sushi rice. The fish were cut into generous slices, which made the dish really enjoyable! Each piece of fish was very fresh and you could tell that the quality of the fish was very good. The hibiscus flower was a cute touch for presentation! My only regret about eating here is that now I know how much time and money I've wasted eating at other sushi restaurants in the area. Sushi restaurants in America (especially in the suburbs) are all more or less the same. Unless you shell out money for a true omakase in a coastal city, you're getting a menu of bento boxes, saucey rolls, and maybe a small selection of sashimi/Nigerian. The menu here is more extensive than any in the tri city area. But the standout is the PORTIONS. You know how a katsu curry bowl is a thin layer of meat and the other 3/4ths of the bowl is rice? Not here! Huge bowl with 3 layers of meat stacked on top of each other with barely any rice at all. Sushi lover? One chirashi bowl here has as much fish as two bowls at a comparable restaurant. And the generosity of the staff is unbelievable. If you go with a large group (10+), expect SEVERAL complementary items on the house. I love a good omakase, but most of the time when I'm craving Japanese it'll be at a more casual/Americanized place like this. I'll make this brief, but tldr you 100% need to come and try Mioki for yourself! I have been to Mioki several times since moving to the East Bay in spring of 2022. This place, by-far, is the best sushi that I have tried in the area. Not only is it a quick drive from my house, but it's both delicious and priced appropriately. Between my parter and I, we usually order 1-2 special rolls and 2 classic sushi rolls and end up very full. Every time we come, we'll try a new special roll and/or classic roll. From what we've had the opportunity to taste, our favorite special roll is between the Lion King and Godzilla #2 rolls. For the classic rolls, the spicy tuna and California rolls are our go-tos. I will say that during our most recent visit, for some reason it seems like the rolls have gotten larger and it was quite a pleasant surprise! The flavors that Mioki puts together in their specialty rolls are unmatched and incredibly packed with umami. I sparingly use soy sauce when eating sushi, but for their specialty rolls you won't need it and in fact it may actually detract from the flavor profile of the roll itself. Mioki is the perfect place to go for a date night, quick bite with friends, and everything in between that's casual. UPDATE: I haven't visited here in a while and decided to hang dinner on a Thursday with a friend. It was quite busy for a Thursday night and we had to wait 20 mins or so for a table. The waitresses seemed a bit confused on who was next and wasn't really utilizing the list so that was kinda confusing. We ordered mixed tempura, 2 Deluxe Sushi plates, and happy hour hot sake. -Mixed tempura was okay, there wasn't a huge variety (shrimp, potato, and zucchini) -Deluxe sushi was pretty good. The fish tasted fresh and liked the fresh wasabi. However, the Uni niguri wasn't very fresh by the looks of it and how it tasted. -$.99 hot sake for Happy Hour?! Don't mind if I do!
