I love mixt greens but this has to be the most inconsistent location I've eaten at. I believe it's relatively new but I commonly have ingredients missing from their basic menu salads. I understand the lines get backed up but this location rushes and creates a mess like I've never seen at any other location. Watch the employees very closely if you visit here! Today I got my usual orchard salad and it was so watert and soggy. There was a big pool of water at the bottom of my salad and it wasn't from the dressing. I'd recommend visiting the mission st location if you're in this area. Tried going here again today and they forgot the almonds in the Orchard salad. It's only 5 ingredients!! My favorite so far is the Bachelor--a salad with steak. It's hearty, and the perfect combination of protein and greens for those trying to build muscle. This location is pretty normal as far of wait times and lines. They also offer outdoor seating, which is a nice plus! In a city populated with make-your-own salad places, Mixt isn't on my radar anymore. I hate salad; as a vegetarian I feel like it's the go-to for everyone who doesn't know what to feed us. And Mixt is just lackluster enough in their preparation of them that it only adds fuel to the fire of my disdain for the stupid food (granted, part of that is my own fault: I always feel rushed at Mixt, and as a result panic in my ordering process, thus coming up with some of the worst combinations of ingredients). Whenever I come here I always feel like MOST of my salad is comprised of greens. And that's totally fine, that's what a salad is: greens. But why bother adding additional ingredients if they're only going to put a countable number in? I shouldn't be able to count the three pieces of roasted potato, four pieces of tofu, and seven kalamata olive slices among my arugula (no, but seriously, that was the actual tally from my last salad; I regret not taking a photo). Also, where was the caramelized onion, avocado, and pea shoots that I also asked for? Also, the salad baristas seem to be so focused on the next customer and the line out the door that they don't really seem to pay attention to you when it's your turn. At my most recent visit I had to repeat myself nearly a dozen times because the guy making my food genuinely just wasn't listening (see above for missing items). Average price will be $12-$15 Order like if you're at a Chipotle or Subway BYO ($12): (choice of base, 5 toppings, 1 dressing, +extra for protein) I got the kale/quinoa, butternut squash, avocado, herb mix, lemon herb dressing, egg, and chickpeas. The butternut squash was not as warm as I would have liked. The avocado should have been cubed, not sliced, and cut fresh. They were also already pre-sliced so it was browning. You have choice of how light or heavy you want your dressing. My kale wasn't chopped thoroughly. I got a big hunk of a stem in my bowl. +0.40 for SF Employee mandate --SERVICE-- timid server. He did add more squash when I asked, though. --SEATING-- plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating --OVERALL-- I liked it, but it needs improvement. Warm ingredients should be served warm. I come here for the market plate, which isn't offered at every Mixt location in the area. My go-to market plate combo is usually the grilled grass fed flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce, roasted brussels sprouts sprinkled with sea salt, and roasted butternut squash with kale. I've tried other market plate sides, but I didn't like them quite as much. I thought the quinoa with roasted cauliflower and toasted almonds was particularly dry. The grilled broccoli with lemon and chili flakes tasted fine, but half of the broccoli turned out too burnt. As for salads, I've enjoyed the Cowboy, Bachelor, and Orchard. read more

DONT COME HERE! The cashier put a wrong item while checking out - $3 more for a salad add on, I asked why, she said she had no idea and didn't even bother to look at the menu I showed her. She also lied that the extra money is for "tax", but no! The tax is charged separately in the bill. They also add a "employee benefits surcharge", which doesn't make sense especially when the employee acts like this. It was just one cashier's attitude but other employees were fine and the salad was okay, definitely not worth the $21 I was going to pay because of her ignorance. I've been a Mixt customer for a while, though I don't typically go to this branch. This branch has a nicer venue, but the flow to order is not very intuitive and our line at the time always seemed a bit confused about who exactly was helping us. Food-wise, the food is great. I usually order the Orchard salad and though I admit that I didn't like how my salad was mixed (proportions of ingredients off), the food was fresh and great quality. Overall, not a bad experience. Been wanting to try this place and this location is the only one in the area (and there are a bunch of them) that is open during the weekend. It's pretty much like a fancy Sweetgreen; you have your salads, bowls, and can choose a pre-made mix you can customize or build your own. The difference is that you can also make plates with a meat and sides and, compared to Sweetgreen, they don't seem to skimp you on toppings which can sometimes happen at SG. We came Sunday during lunchtime and there was a line that took around 10 minutes to get to order. We weren't expecting that people would want to eat healthy then instead of Sunday brunch, but given this was the only one open it makes sense. I ordered the beetnik salad with added chicken for protein. It was pretty good, but considering I was paying more for it I expected more chicken as well as less cranberries - I hand picked a lot of them out, but still ended up with at least one every other bite. My friend ordered the steak plate with mashed sweet potatoes and broccolini that I got to try. Tasted pretty fresh to me, the one complaint was that it was $9 to get extra meat on the plate which definitely did not seem worth it. Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. The wait and ordering process did not seem as streamlined as Sweetgreen, but it's a good place to grab something healthy! read more

My most common thought was "Why get a $12 salad from Mixt when I can get a $5 salad from Trader Joe's?" Well, I had a good payday and I dropped in to see if my suspicions (overpriced, overmarketed, pointless) were correct. I was Flat. Out. Wrong. Yay salads! Yay health! Yay Mixt! Forget the Mixt's up the street with their crazy ass lines. Come here instead. Then you don't have to wait standing in line out on the street and instead can be in a climate controlled, nicely demarcated line. Even if the line happens to stretch out of the store, at least you're in a pedestrian walkway and not a sidewalk. Plus, this is a larger Mixt, which means plenty of seating both indoors and out. I got the seasonal peach salad with the additional chicken to-go and man, was it yummy! I'm from LA, home of the salad if there ever was one, so I know a good salad when I taste one. Mixt is a godsend for folks trying to eat healthier, wholesome food. Love how many different options they have pre-set, and you can always customize and make your own. The portions are hearty and you won't feel hungry afterwards, even though you're eating healthy. The one stickler is that it's a bit on the pricy side ($13-15 for a salad?), but given the quality and freshness, it's not a huge issue. The Mixt on Montgomery gets packed during lunch, not sure how this location fares. read more

Thank you for the help I was looking for a quick, easy, and economical dinner to eat, because I was pressed for time. I walked by this establishment and was immediately drawn in by the sign. I love Cobb salad and especially when it is topped with the great things such as the eggs, the avocado, the tomatoes, etc. I enclosed the picture of the sign. When they gave me the salad, I was a bit confused and ask them immediately if this was the Mixt Cobb with Crispy Chicken Salad and they said yes. I do not at all begrudge the help-they are just doing their job and I am super respectful of that. I was pressed for time and I was not at all going to be difficult and have them remake it-that would not be fair to do to them!!! This is such misleading advertising though!!!! I left them a tip because they are paid minimum wage and do work hard for their money but this food and drink was way overpriced for what it was!!!! This place is so delicious! Both salads, bowls, and market plates!! The salads/bowls are super healthy, with original picked ingredients or a few of your choice and they're generous with the portions. They even ask how much dressing you like - VERY important to me! Made just the way you like it. The market plates though were divine! I'm so glad i went back to try it: the chicken were grilled perfectly, the sides I got were healthy and delicious! Mashed sweet potatoes was the definite winner. So sastisfying. And I had it during thanksgiving week so I felt ok about not having a turkey dinner. Totally made up for it. read more

The venue is spacious, light and clean, and grabbing a seat outside on a sunny day is perfection. The service was fast, and their salad is absolutely enormous. It can easily be extended to two meals. Their entire bar is so large, and all the ingredients look fresh and tender (esp the greens). I got the Lexington, with grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and a variety of greens. My main complaint is that there was a TON of leaves, and hardly any protein and the rest of the other stuff to strike a good balance. Seriously, it was rare for me to get a bite of chicken. Wish they were more generous with the protein and the other ingredients/toppings they listed in the menu besides the leaves. My order has always been ready when promised. If you are planning to dine at this location, please know they have both beer and kombucha on tap. Newly opened and reminds me a lot of Tender Greens! They have all sorts of salads and Grain Bowls. If you choose to make your own, the combinations are endless. The inside is clean and modern. Like Tender Greens, the ordering process was a bit confusing. I think they are still in training mode so the person who was making our order had to literally look up the recipes for each salad. The outside area has many seats and tables. The metal chairs do not drag on the cement, which I loved a lot. We ordered a Caesar Salad with Chicken and a Market Plate with Protein. They were both delicious but watch out on the amount of dressing. Depending on the person, light dressing can be more than enough. I usually just ask for dressing on the side. They also have it set up so you can order online and pick it up. I think I will give that a try next time! read more

They also have not foods like: salmon, steak, broccoli, and mashed sweet potatoes. I just got a side of mashed sweet potatoes which ended up being $4something with tax (3.95 before tax). So, so, so good! Sometimes I sit and daydream about Mixt and their delicious salads, but alas, they're far from my apartment and don't deliver. I've eaten here twice, and both salads were excellent. Unfortunately, they were both seasonal items, so they are no longer on the menu. That's part of what's great about Mixt--they offer a wide variety of ingredients and rotate them based on what's in season. The salads are huge but healthy, so there's no guilt in eating here over and over. They have plenty of seating--both indoors and outside--and the line moves quickly, so it's a great lunch on the go. My only gripe is that the prices might be just a touch steep--about $12 for a salad. But hey, I guess that comes with the territory of being in downtown SF. I have Celiac Disease and today was the second time my Bachelor Salad arrived covered in bread crumbs. The printed tag on the salad noted "No Breadcrumbs" and instead there were heaps. This is the second time my breadcrumb note has been disregarded and I've had to throw my salad away and go hungry in a 20+ person business meeting. It's embarrassing to have to explain to a room why you won't be eating lunch with the group, who has already dug into their salads. We make large orders several times a week and we will no longer be ordering from Mixt. There are dozens of nearby restaurants that would appreciate our patronage instead. I'm wrapping up my attendance at a two-day conference at the Marriott Marquis and one of the biggest questions on my mind was... what's for lunch? The general question of what I'm going to eat at any given moment is, to be honest, something I spend far too much time considering. Digression-confession aside, with the strict one-hour timeline, I had to rule out hopping on BART to hit up Tartine, Bi-Rite, Craftsman in the Mission or, heck, even facing a literal uphill battle to get deep into Chinatown. Throw in the fact that I'm also recovering from a cold and, well, what's a Yelper to do when your heart says fried but your brain says fresh? Enter Mixt: 1. Nearby? Check. It's on the same city block as the hotel! 2. Cold Recovery Plan Approved? Check. Most of the meals center on veggies of some sort (fresh or roasted). BONUS POINTS for the fact that you can pre-order any pay online, and then just swoop in and pick it up in the little open refrigerator near the register. They also send you an email notification to confirm your order and remind you to pick it up the day of! Want to cancel? I don't think they allow you to cancel orders the day of, but the day before? No sweat. Just click the link on your confirmation email. I opted for a plate the first day (herb roasted, free range chicken with grilled broccoli and a side salad) - 15.26 including tax. Today, I built my own salad with chicken and the least offensive things my normal vegetable-averse self could order (butter and romaine lettuce, roasted golden beets, edamame, chickpeas, pearl couscous and a balsamic vinaigrette) - 14.06, including tax. Even though I noted utensils through the online order system, they don't actually come sitting on top of your order in the refrigerator. It's not a big deal, though, since Mixt has a cute set-up against the wall sort of next to the refrigerator station where you can pick-up utensils (knives and also forks wrapped nicely in a sturdy napkin). Coming from a family that never put the words "portion" and "control" in the same sentence, the pictures of the meat portions almost put me off coming here. However, both the plate and the salad were quite filling without pushing you into the danger zone where you risk falling asleep at your post-lunch conference, meeting, etc. The only downside? There's no downtown/Lakeside location in Oakland where I work. I would DEFINITELY visit! read more
