Mixue ice cream is pretty good. Even when there's a line, it moves pretty fast. Nice creamy taste that everyone approves of. They do have a song that keeps looping over and over. It's a 32 second song and at some point it starts to mess with your head a little. I asked a worker there if the song got to them, and they replied, "EVERY. SINGLE. DAY." Hahaha, I don't blame them for feeling that way, it's a hilarious silly song that burrows deep into your brain. The ice cream is pretty cheap and really good though. Yum. read more

Growing up in San Francisco, I remember when the Quickly's Boba milk teas exploded in popularity and all of a sudden you would see Quickly's in every neighborhood until the milk tea shops from Asia started testing out the American markets. Mixue feels like those Quickly's. Go to any Asian country and you're likely to see that snowman icon everywhere you go. This Mixue has set up shop on a corner of Koreatown that is extremely high traffic but has seen a ton of turnover in the space. If I had to choose between Nana's and Mixue, I would probably cross the street. But if I was budget conscious and bargain focused, Mixue would just take all of my pennies. I went to go try a soft serve and right away, they gave me the option to also get another soft serve for 1 cent and offered other discounts. However, it seems like they're still trying to keep up with their popularity as they had no Boba in stock. read more

Only thing that can have you waiting in line on a cold NY night is some nice ice cream for $1.19. This ice cream is a hit. Perfect dessert to end any night. Even though the line was long staff had us in and out. They also had other menu items we will try next time. read more

First time trying Mixue but decided to stop by after seeing it all over social media. It was easy to order on the kiosks and even though the place was packed, we didn't have to wait long for our order. I got the coconut mango with taro and was refreshing after walking in the summer heat. The drink was delicious especially for the price. If you want cheap but decent drinks or desserts then I recommend checking this place out. I definitely want to try their soft serves next time. read more

Mixue opening has been a game changer. The first few times I came, most of their toppings were out, which was a bummer. I ended up having to try a few drinks before finding what I liked. For me, Mixue runs very sweet, so I always get no sugar or 30% sugar. My favorite so far has been the coconut mango w/ taro. For $5, it's a great deal and comes with a ton of toppings! The soft serve also never fails. read more

I finally made my way here (in the dead of one of the coldest winters, which is unfortunate), a few weeks after its opening as I didn't want to brave the super long lines during the first first weeks of opening. I've passed this store front many times with the "coming soon" sign and have been anticipating this for awhile. The lines surprisingly moved quite quickly. There was a very catchy jingle that played throughout the entire time (to the tune of O Susanna). There were a couple of kiosks or you can order with the employee. Lots of options and all affordable. After you place your order, your drink gets made with your number called out. For the soft serve, to preserve the integrity, you go up to the staff member and ask for it, showing your receipt. They match up your receipt number to their order list and make it on the spot, which I really appreciate. Often times I get my soft serve before i'm ready to claim it so I'm trying to balance putting my money away, organizing myself and rushing to get my ice cream while trying not to spill. I got the pudding milk tea with the classic soft serve. The milk tea wasn't mind blowing but it wasn't terrible. For the price paid, i think it was definitely worth it. Boba prices have gotten way out of hand here and I'm glad there's an affordable option comparable to Asia. What really shone was the classic soft serve. It wasn't creamy soft serve like McDonald's but had a more icy texture. It wasn't vanilla but reminded me of a super milky flavor like those Asian milk candies, or the white rabbit candy. My friend and I enjoyed in the public seating area on Broadway and we definitely felt the cold of weather coupled with our cold treats. I can't wait to come back here when the weather is warmer. Or I saw there were stairs so unclear if there'll be upstairs seating? read more

Was excited to see Mixue open in the US. Went to try out. They are famous for having the cheapest ice cream and drinks. During the checkout, we can join the membership for points. There's a promotion for first time users. Can buy an ice cream for one penny. Have add a fresh lemonade along. There were many people waiting in queue. After getting the drink, can go to another counter to tell the employee our number and then will prepare ice cream for us. It tastes good and the lemonade is freshly made. The snowman mascot is cute. Love the service that they offer. Would constantly come back for countless drinks and ice cream. read more

this is definitely cheap crap at its finest. I can't believe this chain is making its way into New York. There's too many chains there as it is and it's getting out of hand. I wanted to try the vanilla cone that everybody was going crazy over. it wasn't that great at all. It tasted funny like there wasn't much flavor to it. I started licking it and as soon as I get outside it was melting so fast that I could barely get my purse off of me to clean my hands up. Someone said in the comments that they use milk powder and there's more water in it! It's garbage food! I get it. Fast food is garbage food I understand! But if I'm gonna buy something I don't want it to make a mess before I even sit down to eat it! They also played this fucking loud song outside of their store that is so repetitive I hear it every time I'm there. Talk about ears bleeding. I feel like they're torturing the coworkers with this music. That's capitalism! The only pro about this place is that the line seems to move pretty fast. I went on a Tuesday so I'm not sure how it is other days. You have to order everything from the card kiosk that they have on the side. And I got my ice cream pretty fast but like I said it's garbage and if you want melted ice cream on your hands as soon as you step outside and eat it you're more than welcome to try it. Came here after work and the place had a line going around the corner! I was very much surprised. Though I had my reservations, I wanted to know if Mixue was anything like a Mister Softee. After 10 minute wait, it finally came time to order. If you decide to pay by cash, you can go directly to the register. But if you're paying by card, they have self kiosk to order from. After perusing the menu, I went with the original flavor. The pace in which they fulfilled orders were pretty quick. I got my cone right after I paid. Taking my first bite of the ice cream, it was noticeably different. It didn't have that classic creaminess. The sweet lingering aftertaste was nonexistent. After a few more licks, it finally hit me! It tastes just like the classic rabbit milk candy from my childhood! It tasted like milk powder, but less milk- more water... it was not to my liking and I unfortunately would not get it again... sadly read more

This huge chain from china has superpassed mcdonald's. Amazing prices for beverages and ice cream. There are 4 kiosks and one register, line moves quick! I placed an order of three items and it turned out to just $8 (insane for NYC!). i waited about 3 minutes for my ice cream and drinks... super efficient, i don't know how they do it. Ice cream for $1, IT IS NOT VANILLA, it tastes like a milk flavored ice cream, super creamy, good consistency, but the cone is AMAZING. Jasmine Float was a 10/10, super compatible to Molly Tea's Jasmine (less ice, 50% sugar). Also got a Peach Mango Jasmine fruit tea, would skip on this next time, tastes pretty artificial but still refreshing (less ice, 30%). I got all my drinks less ice but I got a full cup of ice instead, but I won't complain because of pricing, and how many customers were in store. Went to the grand opening of Mixue in herald square, Manhattan NYC yesterday. It's a global chain from China known for inexpensive drinks and ice cream. Huge line and we wanted to check it out. Didn't take photos due to the crowd and my hands being full. Price is crazy inexpensive. Come here for the matcha ice cream. The drinks are watery and can't be compared to most bubble tea joints. Note: insanely crowded with lines. Takes 10 to 15 minutes after kiosk orders. Grand opening was recent. It's a chain from China. You'll hate the welcome music which is repetitive. "I think they use honey so it tastes different!" said my ice cream companion as we sat in the little triangle they call Greeley Square Park with our three cones. A whole day later, it made sense. I've been calling this place "mishu" for months because I know just enough pinyin to pronounce it incorrectly. But oh! It's mi like honey! And it's xue like snow! The line makes you think they're giving out free ice cream. And they are. They have made the price of two cones cheaper than the cost of the subway ride to get here. I consider this a processing fee for the free food you don't even need to speak to a human to receive. And oh my. The line moves super fast and the ice cream is actually good. I don't know how they'll keep this up and afford being here, in the kidneys of Manhattan. But I'm very happy for soft serve lovers (not me) that this place exists. read more

I visited the Herald Square location. I love this place. The soft serve ice cream and waffle cone is a great price compared to other places in NYC. Its soooo good. I will get thr matcha ice cream again. The homemade straight up lemonade is delcious! The customer service at this location were friendly . I went on New Years Eve in these pics. There are different types of cold treats: gelatos and more slushie like consistency frozen confections that are served in a cup. My vegan friend appreciated that he could choose from multiple vegan flavors, not just be limited to the one and only offering, which is what most places usually have. Melon flavor was incredible. Tasted like frozen melon was crushed with ice and chopped into an ice/smoothie blend. Super refreshing. Very sweet, though. I personally enjoyed their in-house special flavor of gelato: honey cream with crushed almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. That was bombastic! Love how nutty the consistency was. A bit too dry and bland for my liking, but still decent. My favorite item was the pistachio bombolone which is officially now my favorite dessert. This was magnificent! The yeasty dough was so light and airy--perfectly light and balanced. The filling of pistachio cream was very delicate and not sweet at all, which was such a nice surprise. I do not like saccharine dessert. The fresh raspberry jam was a perfect balance to the pistachio cream. I never like jams in my desserts, but this was a perfect complement. Woooow, what a treat! Can't wait to return for it and to try more of their other flavors--hazelnut & chocolate, coconut, white chocolate, tiramisu. You could taste the superb quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend.

The brand made its U.S. debut in December 2025 and now has four locations in Manhattan. There's a LOT of hype around it for one reason: ridiculously low prices. And when I say low... I mean shockingly low. My eyes popped outta my head when I looked at the menu. Most items are under $5. In NYC, that's almost unheard of. I'll admit, I was skeptical. $1.19 soft serve? $2-$4 drinks? Is it *WORTH* it? But babyyyy... one thing about me? I'll always try a new spot, even if it means taking an L. I'd rather spend money satisfying my curiosity than sit around wondering if the hype is real. I went to the Chinatown location on Canal Street. The bright red storefront is hard to miss. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with a small seating area along one wall and a restroom in the back. There are three self-order kiosks or you can order at the register if you're paying in cash. Menu highlights: -Soft serve (SIGNATURE, MUST TRY ITEM) -Sundaes -Fruit teas -Milk teas -Coffee You can customize your drink's sugar and ice levels and add tapioca pearls or other toppings. The place was busy and a bit chaotic, but everything moved quickly. My ice cream was ready in under 5 minutes. You can track your order on the LED screen above the counter, and there are labeled pickup areas depending on what you ordered. I got the Vanilla ($1.19) and Matcha ($1.69). First of all... they know how to swirl! The portions were generous, and there wasn't that annoying hollow center some places sneak into their soft serve. The texture? Fantastic. Dense, creamy, silky smooth. Not watery or icy at all. The waffle cone? Sturdy and crunchy. As for the flavors, I honestly wasn't expecting much given the price... but I was pleasantly surprised. The matcha was light and slightly sweet without tasting watered down--perfect if you dislike bitter matcha, but on the milder side if you're a purist looking for that rich, earthy flavor profile. I wasn't expecting ceremonial-grade quality at a $1.69 price point, so I was REALLY happy it actually tasted like matcha. The vanilla tasted more like fresh cream or rice milk rather than classic vanilla. Still enjoyable, just not what I anticipated. And while you're there, don't skip a photo op with Mixue's life-sized mascot, Snow King--a chubby snowman rocking a vibrant red cape, a golden crown, and an ice cream wand. He's all over the store, and as someone who's a sucker for cute things... I wanted to take him home with me. LOL. So... was this the best soft serve I've ever had? No. But was it worth the price? Absolutely! The quality, portions, and value were better than I expected. I spent around $3 (with taxes included), and that's a win in my book. I'd definitely come back. Next time, I'm trying the boba. One tip: they do sell out of ice cream and certain drinks, so it's best to go earlier in the day. When I went it was pretty packed and there are 3 self service kiosks and one person taking orders at the register. I was able to get to a open kiosk pretty quick and ordered seamlessly. I will say that the service was super quick, but maybe because I did not order drinks so after 5 seconds of finishing up at the kiosk, the guy at the counter was already calling my number. It was the fastest I've ever been called, but thankfully he didn't make the ice cream yet, but was just making sure I was there. I ordered the matcha soft serve which after tax came out to be 1.84 which is a steal in this economy. The matcha isn't very strong, but you can't expect too much for that price. It kind of tastes like a milder version of a matcha latte in ice cream form. It's good for people who don't like matcha ice cream to be too overpowering. I will say it does melt relatively quickly so I wouldnt recommend it on a super hot day since they dont serve them in cups unless you order a sundae. I would totally come back and try the other flavors. I am very curious about how the original is and for only 1.19, I don't think it would be too bad. I dont know how the drinks are, but I am not really a bubble tea or sweet drinks type of person so it might not be for me even though I definitely notice many people ordering drinks.

I then tried the orchic blanc right after and it was very light in flavor that I felt like I wasn't tasting much since my palette was overpowered by the ceylon prior. But once I waited a bit, i enjoyed the light floral taste. They also had a little giveaway in the corner that weekend. With every receipt, you could reach into a box to pick a ticket, which corresponded to a prize. We both won a jasmine stone, something you hang up that emits a slight fragrance, I guess. Overall, a great experience. So many boba options now beyond the usual Vivi/Coco/Gongcha/Kungfu. Prices are pretty competitive with the other newer chains that have been opening up.

I was told they make the mochi fresh in-house every morning, and the taro is made from actual taro instead of powder.
