They won't give me a cup i can put a lid on so we don't have a big spill. Like I'm going to steal their stupid soda?!?! This is quickly becoming my favorite pizza place and not just because I get to make my own pizza. Their variety of ingredients is superior to other places that provide the same food opportunity, and they have more offerings available than other similar restaurants. I particularly enjoy the fresh roasted seasonal vegetables - roasted sweet corn is my favorite and adds a great sweetness. And don't forget the balsamic fig glaze on top for an extra kick of flavor. This is one of the first places I have discovered since I came to the US. It was pouring cats and dogs when I first walked in and I was thrilled to discover that it was mostly a Pizza 'Subway' (that's how we refer to it). The employee who helped us was incredibly clear when explaining how things worked and was very invested to give us an awesome first experience: and he succeeded! We had a blast ordering and choosing from the myriad of toppings and then savouring every bit of the pizza. They have three sizes (flat fee for each) that you can choose from, according to your appetite and hunger level. They have a firewood oven that gives every pizza a great crunch! I ordered the Dominic with a few extra toppings on a thicker crust. Food was great and the staff was very nice and actually seemed like they were having fun. We've been coming here weekly for about two years--LOVE the pizza, and until about 2 months ago, loved the staff, too. You'd walk in, and without a doubt you were genuinely greeted with a happy crew a d you were just a few minutes away from delicious pizza! Now, most of the time the team seems to be beyond miserable and even Worse, lacks hygiene and food and safety standards. I don't want to point out someone's physical characteristics, but rotten teeth are hard to look at when you're thinking about food. Not only that this same employee touched her hair and glasses with her gloves on, and proceeded to use the same hand to touch the dough, pepperoni, veggies and cheese. Gross. It's gross enough to touch your hair and then food, but same gloves in dairy, meat and veg is not food safety standard. Get it together MOD: we love you and this is really too bad. First time. Came around 1 pm the day after xmas and they were surprisingly not busy. Made my own chicken garlic pizza with white sauce and it was super good. Also really liked their teas and lemonades. Left full, but not stuffed (thanks to the thin oven cooked crust). Would definitely come again. read more

Were we not driving nearby Arden and Howe late Sunday evening looking for someplace where we could get take out in a hurry, we would not have known this MOD Pizza was there. It showed up because of its lights in the dark. We had been to a MOD Pizza several times in the Chicago area so knew what to expect. We were partly right in this case. The pizza was delicious, made just to what we wanted, the difference was, the crew working this evening moved at a geologic pace, (without benefit of some catastrophic event to speed the result). While watching the pizzas being put together for the couple ahead of us I found myself thinking that in Chicago they would have already gotten their pizzas and been eating them in the time it was taking to put the toppings on at this Sacramento location. On the other end, when my name was called and I went up to the counter to collect out take-out pizzas, I once again was stuck waiting, and watching while my pizzas were loosing heat, as additional toppings were added at glacial speed (prior global climate change) to the pizzas of the couple also called up at the same time. The seeming lack of coordination and speed would not prevent me from coming here again (I would not however do it if I had some appointment to keep), but perhaps it might be better organized and move faster at some other time of day or with some other crew. read more

This MOD pizza ok. We usually go to the West Sac MOD, but we were in the area and decided to try this one. There were only a couple of people in front of us on a Thursday evening, so we were helped quickly. I had to ask the people making the pizza to repeat themselves several times because the music was so loud, and they were talking so low, so I couldn't hear them over the blaring music. This went on all the way through paying for the pizzas. There were quite a few empty tables, but disappointingly they all had food crumbs on them. It didn't seem as if anyone was wiping down tables. We received our pizzas very quickly, and it was delicious. We had to go to the front for packets of Parmesan and red pepper flakes because there weren't any containers available in the restaurant. Very little conversation was had while we sat because the music was even louder in the dining area. When it was time to clear the plates, we did so in an overflowing trash can that hadn't been emptied in a while. The food was very good, and it was exactly what we wanted even if it was difficult to communicate with staff. The dining area could be cleaner. I wish they paid more attention to wiping down tables for customers and clearing out overflowing trash. Please consider lowering your music, because I shouldn'tand your staff shouldn't have to yell to be heard over the music. read more

In addition the staff adds to the experience with their high energy and excellent level of customer service.
