I could probably eat here like once a week but that would be really bad for my health. I fell in love with the idea of these pizza places when I first tried Pieology so I'm so happy this opened down the street from my place. This place of course is very similar to Pieology and Blast825. It's literally like Chipotle but for pizza. The only thing different and I think that makes MOD better than the other chains is that they offer a personal size! I can never finish the regular size one so the personal size was perfect. It's 6" and just enough! Loved the thin crust and ingredients were fresh. Make sure not to put too much toppings on your pizza or it will get soggy. read more

If you want 100 flies on your pizza and want to be served by Unhappy and rude employees, this is the place for you! We had a party of 10 people and all of our pizzas had flies eating away the pizzas before they went into the oven. More than a few of the pizza actually had dead flies on them. We were told we could get our money back but what about everyone else who was dining in and eating their "black flies" pizza special? I don't see this establishment opening for long term. It will not survive Sacramento. And btw it is not unlimited toppings and the employees will roll their eyes when you ask for "extra" toppings especially pepperoni! A group of 5 of us was pretty excited to try this place for lunch since it's down the street from work. I had the MOD size for about $8 and did the build my own pizza option. They had a lot of different veggie and meat toppings to choose from and best of all it's unlimited. They are also generous with the portions. Overall, my pizza was tasty but I was disappointed because my crust was burnt. I checked with everyone else and their crust was burnt as well. That's why I dropped the star rating from a 4 to a 2. I came in expecting this to be the Chipotle of customizable pizza places. So, the high side of mediocre. What I got instead is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The topping selection is amazing and the pizzas are cooked to perfection. I go to school up the street, and I would eat here for lunch every day if I could. The 8 dollar pizzas are an amazing deal, but my wife would kill me if I spent $40 a week on pizza. My waistline probably wouldn't be too happy either. MOD will remain a once in a while treat for me, but I'll never stop thinking about it. P.S. The pizza makers and cashiers are all very friendly also. And the iced tea is amazing. I went on 6-3 around 2:00. The pizza was good, which counts for the 3 stars. One server lost 2 stars for me. I gave my order to the two preparers and asked if I could have a beer while I waited for the pizza as I knew it would be a wait as I had people ahead of me. I was told to buy it at the cash register. I stood at the register waiting for a while. A young dark haired girl was opening different sized boxes, placing paper in them and stacking them - prep work. She knew I was waiting. I finally said "Can I buy a beer to drink while I wait?" and she said "Give me a minute", to which I replied "I'd rather not" because she annoyed me, as she seemed herself annoyed. Really?? Ignore a customer to do some prep work which could clearly wait? What disrespect for customers. I don't know if I'll return. Aren't employees taught that the customer comes first, should not be kept waiting when there is no good reason for it? read more

Is good customer service not a thing anymore? I feel like all the restaurant chains are now only run by millennials. Been here a lot with great service, however my last two times were horrible. The first of the last two I ordered online and came to the store a bit early so I was told it wasn't ready by a black chick, I said ok I'll wait, understandable. About 10-15 min goes by and I finally go ask for my pizza and this girl says oh it's been sitting here, next time come straight here, I said I did but that girl said it wasn't ready, she apologized but that didn't make my pizza fresh. Second of the last two, ordered online again but came on time and went straight to the to go counter and the guy helping me had to ask everyone about my pizza, I was afraid they missed my order but he found it and of course it wasn't ready, not only did he not apologize he just brushed it off as it'll be ready in a few. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place because our friends love the location in Santa Clara. I ordered the Dominic and my boyfriend got a custom pizza with pepperoni, sausage and bacon. We both loved our pizzas and had leftovers from the MOD size. I tried their tea + lemonade and made an arnold palmer, and was super impressed with their drink quality. Everything here tastes extremely fresh. My boyfriend ordered a MOD chocolate shake with Oreos & mint chocolate chips. It was super good, except they probably should've blended it a little longer because all the toppings were still big and stuck at the bottom of the cup.. but that's what you get when you order a milkshake with two mix-ins. We just took a spoon to it and ate the toppings at the end ;) Really excited that this place is right down the street from me! When my girlfriend and I can't decide on what pizza to get, it is nice that we can go to Mod to get our own individual pizzas for a low cost. I like that Mod gives you unlimited choices for toppings unlike Blaze or other personal pizza places. Because of the unlimited toppings, we are able to try something different each time we come. They're pretty friendly and offer beers on tap or milkshakes. I would recommend people to try this place because you get to try toppings that maybe you wouldn't order at your average pizza spot and it encourages you to try something other than pepperoni or cheese. Mod is the best of the "build it yourself" pizza chains. I've tried the others and the ingredients aren't as good elsewhere which is even more important for salads. The staff is friendly, the prices are great (3 sizes/prices no matter how many toppings), the service is super fast (about 5 minutes for the pizza to be ready), the pizzas are delicious and their Marion berry lemonade can't be beat. We stopped in to have a bite this week and ...YUMMM! The pizza has a very thin crust and you can customize your order. You pick your sauce and toppings from the many available (Loads of veggie options is a plus!) and the staff make it right in front of you. I went with the "Dominik" a pizza featured on their menu with pre selected toppings that included asiago cheese and mild Italian sausage. My daughter customized her own with roasted peppers, roasted cauliflower, gluten free crust, dairy free cheese, and a sprinkle or rosemary. You can have a finishing sauce to top off your pizza when it comes out (pesto, marinara dollops, etc). I didn't have one but my daughter topped her pizza with Buffalo sauce and really dug it. We both enjoyed our pizzas will be back again. My one draw back is the music was so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. read more
