DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The incompetence is unbelievable. The last three times I ordered take out they got my order wrong. Every time I order I am very clear about what I am ordering so that they will not get it wrong but they still do. It's not brain surgery it's food service. No matter how clear my order is, the person taking the order yeses me to death and gets it wrong. When I come in to return my food they try to say I ordered something different. The younger guy behind the counter was rude and could careless that they got my order completely wrong today and the last 3 times. Judging by these other terrible reviews it looks like more people then myself have encountered this unbelievable incompetence. My reviews for this place are like the stock market... they go up and then they go down. What is going on with Mont Olympos? Down again just like the DOW. Ordered Bluefish special only to find out 10 minutes later that they ran out of bluefish. So settled for broiled flounder because our behinds were already in the booth and it is kind of awkward leaving although I was tempted. Next, bread was put on the table. How nice! Nice if you have sharpened your teeth so you can break through the dryness and crustiness of the bread. And I don't mean crustiness in a good way. I asked someone on staff why the bread was so dry. Simple answer. It was baked the day before. So let's see if I understand this. I am going to spend at least $17 each plus tax and tip on an entree and it's ok to give me day old bread? Is this some kind of discount bakery you have going here? The flounder entree was preceded by Matzoh ball soup. So tasty that hubby literally opened up the pepper shaker and dumped it in the soup. He said it didn't really have "character" or flavor. I love it when he hates other people's soups. That makes him appreciate mine so much more. Sometimes we cooks are taken for granted and it takes a place like Mont Olympus to remind them of the time, effort and love we put into every drop of soup. So the Flounder comes out and it is super tasteless. How can flounder be tasteless? It is a fish that usually has a stronger taste to it. Could it be that it was frozen when we ordered it and they soaked it in hot water to defrost it? I don't have the answer, just theories. How do you screw up flounder? Baked potato was fine only because there is no true way of messing up a baked potato other than to over cook it. (Over night perhaps since they are clearly not using the oven for baking fresh bread.) The broccoli was nothing special. Steamed but no flavor. How about springing for a clove or two of garlic and making that broccoli taste like something. I had the pork souvlaki which usually has onions but this had none. It's ok. The better for my breath to smell, my dear. The pork was a tad overdone but at least I didn't have to withstand the torture of tasteless fish. The "greek" salad was small but I was glad to have it. The french fries were done as I asked and they gave me plenty of them. There wasn't a smile from my hubby's face throughout the whole meal. He said it was one of the worst meals he ever had. Our server was horrible. When she came to our table to get our order she made a face when all we ordered was coffee and a slice of pie. I get it. She was probably upset that she would not get a big tip since we're not ordering a whole meal. Well she just guaranteed an even smaller tip with that face and attitude. Then after five minutes of having our coffee and pie she walks by and drops the bill on our table like we were finished or something. The nerve of her. She never came back to our table to offer more coffee. Finally after about half an hour we decide to ask for more. Luckily we did get refills. After we were finally near finished she comes by our table and says "I'm waiting for you because I want to go home." Again I understand, you've had a long day and you would like to go home and get some rest. But that is not something you say to a paying customer. A simple "We're closing now" would suffice. It's experiences like these where I wish we as customers could write citations on the business owners for having poor service like this. I came here for breakfast and based on other reviews was not expecting much but we were very satisfied. It's a pleasant atmosphere and the service was prompt and efficient. Really good hash browns, crispy and well done the way I like it. My grandsons had the short stack of pancakes, which was plenty for them. My daughter ordered soft boiled eggs and they made them right. So we enjoyed our breakfast. I'd definitely come again. And it was close to the Murray Ice Rink, so a perfect Sunday treat! read more

Beautiful Diner. Went 3 pm Christmas Day for a light lunch with my wife. Meal started great with large coleslaw and a delicious pickle. Downhill from there. I ordered grilled cheese, bacon,tomato. Wife a BLT. Both came with stale bacon that must have been sitting around from Breakfast. Eastchester Diner much better. Delicious huge portions fresh well done bacon. read more

This is a super classic example of food not being that great, but the service being so nice that we keep going back. Late at night when all of the lights everywhere are off, except at the lighting store, there's this huge sign pointing to Mont Olympos diner. Is the food good? Not really. It's a run of the mill diner. I can say with certainty that it's never made me sick and I've been eating there for 10 years. The service is outstanding though. I should have known something was up when we walked in on a Saturday night and the place was empty. The portions are Sooo small !! I have never eaten at a diner with the size portions I got here. The French fries were completely filled with oil almost inedible. One person ordered a sandwich and asked for certain items on it and off it and it was completely wrong. The sandwich was supposed to be a panini and was not even pressed ?? My wrap would have been good if it wasn't so small and dry!! Most diners that I have ever eaten in have, at worst, been just like the next diner that I ate in, or the one just before it. Most of them buy their decor from the same place, too. A diner is a place to go when you're hungry, and feel like something a little better than a drive-up window. There are two diners in Yonkers that are worth visiting just for their typical diner staples: Cheeseburgers. One is the Saw Mill Diner, which serves up a big and deliciously greasy beef burger. The other is Mont Olympus. We stopped in on a very busy Saturday afternoon. We were greeted, seated, and served very quickly. The bacon cheeseburger I had was quite possibly the BEST I have ever had, anywhere. Delicious, a fresh 1/2 pound beef patty (not frozen) served on a crispy toasted kaiser roll, the type for which Yonkers bread bakeries are famous. A generous topping of thick cut, crispy, smoky bacon. Off the hook! Next time I'm in the YO and need a diner, I know where to go. read more

Wow. Have been coming here for my entire life what happened??? I mean seriously what happened??? The chicken tenders are not real chicken but frozen processed parts. The sweet potatoes fries must have been sitting in a freezer for 10 years because they tasted like absolutely nothing. The honey mustard sauce tasted like rubbing alcohol, and the BBQ sauce are small packages of Bulls Eye. There's nothing really *wrong* with this diner, but there ain't much to cheer about either. It seats about at least a hundred people, so you'll never have trouble getting a seat. Standard diner fare, but the food is overpriced (most entrees are $14-$17), especially for a diner, but I guess they make up for it in huge portions (my doggie bag lasted two more meals). The only decent prices on the menu are in the breakfast section (pancakes, omelettes, eggs, french toast, etc.). But they still exceed the prices at my favorite brunch place in Manhattan. I live very close to this diner and have come a few times over the years. The food is ok at best, but the staff is very rude and unprofessional. I came with my little sister just to grab dinner and was reprimanded to quiet down when there are louder tables surrounding us. I was also just informed that she has come with two of friends before to get food and asked to leave the second she paid. I am almost 23, and granted look young for my age, but know how to conduct myself in public and this is not acceptable. The waitress was fine, but the man (maybe owner?) was completely out of line. I understand there is a stigma around young adults and restaurants usually do not prefer these customers, but to yell at me and my 18 year old sister who were just sitting down for a quick meal is ridiculous.
