I was invited to brunch by a friend who lives in the area. More Than Waffles turned out to be a new favorite for breakfast. Well since its a waffle based restaurant...obviously they focused on making a delicious waffle that could stand up under the many toppings they offer. Some examples are: Caramel Coconut Pecan, The Turtle Waffle, Ghiradelli Chocolate and strawberry waffle...many others. Crispy perfect waffles and many optional toppings sets this place apart. But the sausage and eggs were fresh and tasty as well. Portions are generous. I will eat here again soon. read more

I have been coming to More than Waffles since I was in high school, when I first discovered the luxury that is going out for brunch. Ten years later I'm still coming back and it's just as good. Service is prompt as usual. Plus points for the yelp waitlist feature because I hardly have to wait to get seated! Even on busy days. I have to say I haven't been back in a few years just because I've moved around a bit for college but I've come back and it still feels like the same warm in my belly like it used to. I always get some form of the Ultima, whether it be the waffles or the french toast. This time I got the french toast, with a side of home fries to share with a friend and warm cappuccino because it was a cool cloudy day and I needed the extra lovin. I do recall that they used to serve everything with teeny weeny wild blueberries. And this time I got kind of shriveled up big blueberries. I'm not sure if they came from a can or something but given supply chain shortages in COVID times I'm not gonna question it too much. There's definitely still plenty of fruit to go around with every bite just like always. You never have to ration your berries here. I love the addition of kiwi and nuts that they do as well. The home fries are delicious too! Nice and seasoned with herbs. A mix of crispy and fluffy bites like a smashed potato and not too salty. Just right. Prices have gone up a bit as well since I last remembered but I guess the same goes for anything else in this pandemic. I just try to support my favorite small businesses as much as I can. It's tough out there right now. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with space heaters for outside. Nice clean bathrooms as well. Cute little surrounding area on Ventura Blvd to go around and shop a bit as well of you're interested. read more

This restaurant specializes in waffles which friends all enjoyed. The portions were good and the outside ambiance and service were very good. I enjoyed my French toast with eggs and bacon though the French Toast portion was not as ample as I would like it was made with thinly sliced challah bread and was tasty. They serve flavored and regular coffee so make sure you indicate to your waiter which you prefer. More than Waffles is pricey. My breakfast with taxes and tips was $30 so I won't be eating here on a regular basis. However, the quality of the overall experience was good. Stopped by for breakfast on a Tuesday and sat on the patio with no wait. Split the Nutella strawberry waffle and the hash Benedict. Both were tasty but preferred the waffle over the Benedict. The salsa that came with the Benedicts had a great kick to it and the potatoes that came with the Benedict were pretty tasty. I will say I think the dishes are a little overpriced based on quantity of food but you are dining off Ventura. Average dish is $18-22 which is a bit pricey for breakfast food. To drink I got an Iced latte which was a little grainy and therefore a little bitter. Service was great! It was consistent and quick and we didn't feel rushed. Parking was pretty easy in the lot here and there's also street metered parking. Sitting on the patio was really nice and shaded. There was a fountain too which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. I prefer them with fried chicken on top. however, this very simple looking waffle is extraordinary. The inside is completely light and fluffy - not dense at all. The outside of the waffle is perfectly crisp, but delicately thin. It comes with melted butter. It's so good that you don't even need the syrup, but it is equally lovely with syrup on it. 5/5 - Belgian Waffle Combo: This is the same waffle as the side waffle I got my first time here but with 2 eggs and sausage included. 5/5 - Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Waffle: With strawberries. My friend thought this was excellent. Looks like dessert to me! 4/5 - Chili Omelet Burrito: This restaurant will turn any of their omelets into a breakfast burrito upon request. My son really enjoyed this, especially with the salsa. 4/5 - Flat Iron Steak and Eggs: This is not my favorite cut of steak, but they cooked it well. I generally love their food, but my last visit there was a disappointment. I ordered the Big G, and chose ham for the meat on it. They gave me thin, processed lunchmeat ham that they browned on the stove. This is way different from the many times I've had it before and was a downgrade. Before they gave a slice of real ham right from the ham roast or whatever. You could look at it and know it was from a non-processed real ham that they cooked and sliced up. But this time they cut corners and price by giving me processed lunch meat ham. My doctor told me not to eat any processed meat. So this broke my doctor's orders to eat processed lunchmeat ham. read more

I stopped by here with my wife and sister to grab breakfast. I haven't been to More Than Waffles since covid lockdown so it was long overdue. We arrived like 5 min before they officially open but they were still able to seat us. We decided to sit inside because my wife was already cold. My dish was the Ultimate burrito with fruits, my wife got the veggie omelet with waffles and my sister got the Waffle Benedict. The food didn't take long to come out. My wife and sister loved their dish. They also give us 2 different sauces, 1 was like a spicy salsa and the other taste like strawberry jelly. The Ultimate Burrito was fulfilling to me, I was only able to finish 1 half of it. If I was to order it again, I'll ask for no potatoes. My fruit bowl was delicious, the fruit tasted fresh and delightful. The service we received here was amazing, our waitress was attentive to our table and the owner came out to great everyone eating. My wife wants to come back again in the future. My score: Food: 5 star, the ultimate burrito was good .. my wife loved her veggie omelet and my sister enjoyed her waffle Benedict. Cute family friendly brunch place located on the bottom floor of the plaza. I put my name on the Yelp waitlist and checked in with the waitress when it was time. I ordered the Nutella waffle with strawberries and bananas and it was DELISH! I loved the waffle itself but the Nutella and the fruits took it to a whole 'nother level The salmon Benedict was good (standard benny, no complaints) and the potatoes were really good too! After a short time we were seated at a table on the patio. The server was promptly at our table with water and offering coffee or other drinks. We perused the menu and there are so many tempting options! We chose the Lemon Lover Belgian Waffles and the Californian Omelette. The lemon lover waffles included blue berries and lemon cream topped with fresh whipped cream. The waffles were light and airy with a nicely crisp exterior. The lemon cream blended nicely with the blueberries and the freshly whipped cream. Yum! The Californian was well prepared with bacon and cheese folded into the omelette and sliced avocado resting on top. This was a tasty and hearty omelette full of balcony cheesey goodness. We enjoyed our breakfast at Waffles and More and will need to return in the future to try more of the temptations on the menu. read more

I'm a hugeeee breakfast/brunch individual and stumbled on this amazing gem. I accidently ordered the wrong omelet I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms.. but honestly did NOT matter. It exceeded my expectations in every single possible way. The portion size was huge and even came with a side of waffle. I'm also a gym buff so I really appreciate the fact that the calories for the waffle was listed and they even had the option of serving it with a low fat frozen yogurt. We sat outside and it was a beautiful view of the fountain and service was great as well. definitely will be heading back soon to try their specialty waffles and right across there's an international movie theater. I wanted to share my experience at More than Waffles We go every Saturday for breakfast, for several years now, we get in a waitlist since the wait on weekends could be an hour or more. We love the outside area the food is good and the staff is very friendly, with the exception of one server. The last two times we have gone to eat there, we have been asked by our server, the same server both times to leave she needs the table !!!! I have to say when u have regulars every Saturday and we tip well, And we do not abuse table time it leaves a bad taste in our mouths, needless to say we haven't been back, and mostly likely will not return. We were told by the server it was the owners request to ask us to leave, is it true? I don't think it is Too bad we really love this place !! This last time, we got the the veggie Benedict and the banana fudge waffle. Both are really good and decent size to leave you feeling satiated. Pretty good quality as well. Service is okay. I would say nothing bad here but nothing remarkable either. A note though, expect a VERY long wait time. I called to make a reservation and I was about 56th in line and took about an hour and half before I was able to be seated. This place is popping to say the least for a weekend brunch.
