I think I've been coming to this breakfast place for nearly 20 years( omg I sound old lol) which means the food is that good! It's located in a shopping plaza, lots of parking available. The place itself is on the lower level. The inside is not that big but they now have tables outside as well. On the weekdays the wait is not long, about 5-10min but on weekends it's longer, so come early if you don't want to wait. Yeah ago I remember most of they menu revolves around they're waffles but now they have everything like omelette, pancakes, crepes and French toast. I've tried a variety of things such as the dark chocolate waffle, the original waffle, eggs, bacon and chocolate pancakes. I have to say everything is soooooo good! The first time I ate here was in the 1980's. More Than Waffles was really good then and still is. A breakfast date with my blushing bride was very much enjoyed; both the company and the service and the food were great. I must admit that I'm a bit intimidated by the parking. We parked in the lot, which was mostly occupied but there was a space for us. The signage is what's intimidating... almost obnoxious. 30 minute maximum "strictly enforced " and, in other places, 45 minute short-time only, "strictly enforced ". Not sure what the underground parking is like and will check that out next time. There was no wait for either outdoor or indoor seating. Most people were outdoors. We sat inside and felt like we were sitting in somebody's country kitchen. Cute place. My blushing bride had a strawberry waffle and coffee, I had a waffle Benedict and iced tea. The menu is extensive with many yummy options. The food came fast. It was hot, looked good, and tasted better. Some salsa and fresh jam was brought to us. Didn't try the jam. The salsa was really good and quite spicy. Great with the breakfast potatoes, which, incidentally, tasted exactly like fried potatoes should taste. I feel like this review may be a bit unfair, why you ask? Because we went to a place called "waffles and more" and we didn't eat waffles I was hoping for a Gluten Fee option but they did not have one so veggie eggs benedict was the option. Their English muffins were odd tasting. My Mom agreed and she too disassembled her eggs benedict. The potatoes were good... I tasted my moms as I opted for the salad (which was tasty) Mom ordered coffee and they gave her hazelnut. She hates flavored coffee. When asking the waitress about the flavored coffee, she said "it's what we serve everyone, regular coffee is by request only" ‍ The inside is depressing, a bit dirty, outdated and very tight quarters. Eating outside would have been nice but they were very busy. It's kind of pretty in a courtyard. Our waitress was good. Decided to check out More Than Waffles for brunch on a Friday morning. When I arrived at 11am, I was shocked to see the place completely packed - both indoor and outdoor seating. Luckily, I was able to score a spot inside and escape to 1975, when this family-owned establishment became part of the Encino breakfast game. Everything is pretty much traditional, basic greasy spoon diner style - menus, decor, server attitudes, and clientele. After looking over the laminated two-page menu, I opted for the Nutella Waffles, topped with bananas, strawberries AND peanut butter. I said NO to the whipped cream as I think the sugar high would have made my tastebuds explode. The waffles were extremely tasty. Very sweet, fluffy and delicious. I am glad I opted to not get the whipped cream. A slight maple syrup glaze was just the perfect amount of taste explosion. The food was great, the service attentive and friendly. The coffee was free-flowing and strong. I did notice that the men's bathroom was extremely dirty (no paper towels, dirty floors and toilet, etc.), so I would have liked a little more attention given to that area. The parking was plenty as the restaurant is located inside the Encino Town Center, with several free spaces both in front and back of the building. Overall, if you want a great greasy spoon diner with no flare but plenty of flavor, check out MTW in Encino. read more

Wow, what a treat to find this place on our way home from LA. What a gem of a family owned restaurant in business for 50 years. It's hidden on the courtyard floor of strip mall with outdoor seating near a large fountain. The food was fantastic! We truly enjoyed the eggs Benedict and a fancy waffle. Our server "Susan" was a such a fun character and so on top of everything. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and hearing about the history of the family's special strawberry preserves and salsa which you can buy! The outdoor seating is great because they have warmers and it's near a fountain. The restaurant is family-owned and decorated with endearing vintage décor, reminding me of grandma's house. They were nice enough to bring the dog some water but the waitress kept obsessing over my friend's dog, asking a million questions, when we were ready and waiting to order. We ordered a Mediterranean omelette and added the coconut pecan waffles. The food was ok - the waffles were good but to be honest, I didn't get the hype. Omelette was standard and cooked well. However, there are other places that serve similar style and quality food so I don't think this place has anything unique to offer. Good portion sizes and what we ordered was enough to share. There's tons os parking around since it's located in the Encino Town Center Mall. Came in this morning for the first time! It's a hidden gem, but amazing experience. The wait was about half an hour but it was worth the wait. You're able to join the waitlist prior to arriving. I love the inside of the place, it's aesthetically pleasing is feels like a home made meal. We sat outside, on their patio in between two heaters. Five dishes were ordered. The caramel apple waffles were a hit, containing apples on the inside too. The Chilaquiles, is always good here. The ultimate burrito (minus ham) was also well received. Their own brand of salsa is a good accompaniment, and without prompting, they gave us many servings. The blueberry pancakes were soft and flavorful. The lox plate was dynamite, the salmon soft, flavorful and melting on your taste buds. The fruit was juicy and the potatoes had the right amount of char, depth and texture. My black coffee kept refilling. Our server was Amy and she was exceptional. Portion sizes were significantly larger than I'd anticipated. They bring you sides of their homemade jam and hot sauce, both of which are divine!
