Food is very tasty, great portions and good variety on the menu. We were dining on a Friday evening, service was slow and disorganized, they lost one of our dinners to another table. They were nice kids doing the serving but seemed a bit "lost", maybe it was just a one off.

Mr Qs is located along the main drag of A-town (with plenty of new parking in the median) inside a large, multi-restaurant plaza (but you enter directly from the street side). A friendly greeting upon arrival. We had made a reservation for our party of five for a Tuesday night dinner of friends. It was a warm evening and the patio doors were open. At about 80 degrees outside, the interior was a little warm; we should have moved to the cute side patio. The menu is Latin fusion, described to us by our server as dishes from across Mexico, South America, and other parts of Central America. The menu has many choices from appetizers, chicken, pork, seafood, and vegetarian + vegan sections. There's also a full page of cocktails ($11), $6 beer (bottled), and wine. The Black Cadillac Margarita stood out for its black color (from powdered charcoal, which gave it an earthy, smoky note) and silver tequila. The other margaritas were reposado tequila based and flavored with the accordant flavored syrup. The Cure cocktail was also a standout, with house-infused watermelon tequila ($11). Wines by the glass or bottle (glasses were $12 for whites or rose, $11 for reds). Entrees came with a small, very fresh side salad or soup (last night's soup was a creamy corn and jalapeño, which was exquisite). Many of the menu items are titled with a type of liquor (for example, Jim Beam Enchiladas, Single Malt Seafood Tacos), which is a thematic choice and does not indicate inclusion of said liquor in the recipe. Everyone was happy with their entrees, which had an appetizing presentation and generous portion. Our server let us know that everything on menu was gluten free except for the flour tortillas (but there were gluten-free corn tortillas as well). I was very happy with my "Dom Perignon Chile Relleno" - a large poblano chile stuffed with shrimp and corn kernels in a cheesy sauce), battered in cornmeal and deep fried, with chopped fresh veggies, crumbled queso fresco, and a chipotle sauce (I asked for that on the side; it was delicious), $24.95. It comes on a bed of white rice or papas chorizo (roasted, mashed potato with chorizo crumbles - yay for that!). The Asombroso Sopas were also a hit (ordered with carne asada, you also had the choice of chicken or al pastor, $22.95). The vegan potato tacos (3 tacos, $18.95) were tossed in a cilantro sauce. The El Charro pork enchiladas came with beans and white rice and were a generous portion ($19.95). The service was 5/5 attentive, competent, and friendly. We lingered after paying the bill as no one was waiting for a table and our server continued to check on us and welcomed the lingering - true Latin style! I plan to return to try the sopas and take The Cure watermelon-infused tequila cocktail with Tajin rim) before the summer is through!

The restaurant was very clean and the staff was exceedingly friendly and attentive. A waiter was in training and he was very proficient. We had two entrées and the serving size was large, enough for a lunch the next day. The restaurant accommodated gluten-free needs and traded corn tortillas for the flour tortillas that came with the dish. The enchiladas were over sauced in the black bean sauce which over shadowed the steak inside, but it was flavorful when I scraped some off

Just a quick note food good as always, my husband and I both had different Salmon dishes. I also had 2) Don Q Margaritas. Service great, Dayana was friendly and informative. But everyone was nice and looking out for each other's tables. My one complaint, the napkins. For a nice place they were so expensive and didn't hold up well. I would love to see cloth napkins. The bathroom was clean and I still love the decor of the place.

We have enjoyed Don Q's menu since they were FAAAAR from downtown and we have always loved their food. This was our first visit to the downtown location and it did NOT disappoint. We had a featured menu special which is a 4 course meal for $45 which my husband and I shared - this worked out well. Neither one of us was over stuffed and we got to share every item on the special. We chose a salad, then asada fries, followed by the shrimp enchiladas and for dessert we didn't really have a choice because they only had flan left. Everything was delicious and we will return.

Don't let the name of the restaurant deter you -- the food is fantastic. It's not your typical Mexican food, but rather what you'd expect from an upscale Mexican restaurant. Our tasty ceviche appetizer came with a more-than-generous portion of chips, followed by the best creamy poblano soup I've ever had. My husband's Habana & Shrimp dish was not only flavorful, but incredibly tender as well. He said it was the best meal he's had in quite a while. My Reserva De La Familia salmon plate was fantastic -- it practically melted in my mouth. And the flavorful rice smothered in the sauce was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

*Visited on a Saturday night with a group of 4 I first want to say that the staff is incredibly kind and very attentive. This was our first time visiting Mr. Q, and safe to say that we were impressed and loved our dinner experience. The shop is quite spacious and right in the heart of downtown! You can see Atascadero's beautiful City Hall from here, and at nice it's very pretty with the lit trees. OKAY THE FOOD: * I had gotten the Don Q Steak Enchiladas and my GOSH were they tasty. It came with rice and beans, and was incredibly filling. * My partner had gotten their 3 or 4 (i totally forgot) course dinner set, which included soup and/or salad, an entree, and a dessert! I'd definitely give this restaurant a try as they are locally owned and have amazing staff members!

What a great restaurant. I was confused by their mkting: logo, name and title - but what fantastic Latin Fusion restaurant!! The restaurant says its California Fusion but more correctly it is Latin Fusion. The flavors of their Latin foods ( enchiladas, Sopas, Chili Relleno) is superb. Inside decor is beautiful, but it's of New York panoramas vice Latin city panoramas. I had a classic margarita that was spot on. The Poblano soup was spectacular - I'd like an option to add spices. For appetizer we had Black and White Molletes which were flavorful- a must. For dinner I had Asombroso Sopes with Asada meat. It was tender and flavorful with all the sauces. Service was one of the best I've had - prompt and attentive. Ashley was charming and Oscar was informative. Besides comments above I have two suggestions: 1- with the upscale vibe and food I'd use cloth napkins vice paper. 2- the cushions on the seats was thin making then hard. Overall a must visit restaurant. I plan on making it a frequent stop. I look forward to trying the Enchalades and Steaks.

I've ordered from here on DoorDash a few times and been blown away by their gluten free pasta. finally went in to check it out, everyone's meal was very obviously put together with so much love and thought. The menu is to die for and service out of this world! I wouldn't haven't wandered in here because the decor is more that of a nail salon & not very inviting, but you'd be stupid to not try the food!

I thought the food was colorful, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, though overpriced. I guess all restaurants are going up in price.

We were walk in, the hostess offered us seating in two bar areas and also made room in the front room for us. We sat at a table in the front room. It had nice ambiance and nicely decorated with plants. Our server was super sweet and helpful. We ordered a Paloma which was great but I heard the pisco sours are good and homemade. Wish we tried one but next time! The service was so fast. When we got our cocktail the food arrived! We ordered the señor lomo which was their lomo saltado. It was sooo good. The sauce was so flavorful and the filet mignon was very tender. It came with a lot of veggies, fries and rice too. Also ordered the escabeche which was a sea bass with similar delicious sauce and veggies. It had mixed colored roasted potato's underneath. Fish and the dish was soft and equally flavorful and delicious. I would say the sauce was slightly lighter than señor lomo. They had a platter of desserts on display. Wish we could have all of them. They all looked pretty and delicious. We tried the papaya creme brûlée. Thought it mostly tasted just like creme brûlée. Highly recommend. It is one of the best Peruvian places I've been. Kinda pricy though, each dish was about $40.

The Tamalito Negro was easily the highlight of the meal and one of the most memorable dishes I've had recently. The Peruvian black squid ink tamale was soft and flavorful, and the creamy ají amarillo sauce worked beautifully with the shrimp. It was creative, distinctive, and absolutely worth ordering. The Corazón, or grilled beef heart anticucho, was also excellent. It still had the characteristic flavor of beef heart, which I appreciated, rather than being over-marinated or disguised. The texture was just right: tender but not artificially soft, with enough chew to remain satisfying without being tough. The Seco de Cordero was much less impressive. The lamb was fine, but the cilantro-based sauce was too salty for me, and the dish did not have the same refinement or excitement as the two appetizers. At $50, I expected more. I also tried the classic Pisco Sour, which was smooth, refreshing, and much stronger than it tasted. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disorganized. After I was seated, nobody came to take my order until I actively called someone over. I was not given water and had to request it when the cocktail finally arrived. My server also entered my order incorrectly and ordered a second Tamalito Negro instead of the Corazón. The food runner noticed that I had already received the tamale, took it back to confirm with the kitchen, and only then was the mistake discovered. As a result, my appetizer arrived after my entrée. I also waited a long time after asking for the check and a to-go box, although the server eventually took the food to the back and packed it for me. The kitchen clearly has talent, particularly with the Tamalito Negro and Corazón. But at this price point, guests should not have to repeatedly flag someone down for basic service, water, correct ordering, and the check. I would consider returning for the food, but the service needs major improvement.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.
