Great place to catch up with friends on a night out. The pork is very thick and bouncy with the neck being my favorite as it has a bit of a chewy crunch. It all comes pre cooked so it's nice that it's ready to eat but it is a little unfortunate that some piece can be overcooked/tough. The highlight is definitely the grilled kimchi that pairs super well with the oily meats. At the end they add rice and make a pork kimchi fried rice which is pretty good too. The meal definitely pairs well with a cold soju which we were able to get free for a promotion. Overall, I think kbbq places where you cook your own meat is a little more worth it but it's still a great place to check out.

Mun Korean BBQ brings the full K-style dining experience right to the heart of LA. from the moment the sizzling meats hit the grill to the cozy outdoor patio and beautiful indoor setup -- everything feels authentic. start off with their comforting sides: soybean paste soup, steamed egg, japchae, and salad, then head to the DIY ramen station to make your own bowl and of course, finish strong with fried rice on the grill -- the true kbbq finale not AYCE, but every cut is premium and worth it. if you're craving that real korean barbecue experience, this spot delivers.

We stopped by Mun Patio because it's dog-friendly, and it was such a great experience! The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. The patio was perfect for our pups, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I love finding dog-friendly spots like this, they even gave our pups some treats to take home! if I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely come back to try other items on their menu.

Great place to come and eat kbbq with your dogs! Super dog friendly and they even hook you up with human grade dog treats!

I'm truly obsessed with this place. I absolutely love the cozy outdoor ambiance. This place is awesome for a small to medium size group of friends. I highly recommend the Don-tastic and Woo-licious menu items with a side of banquet noodles or ramen and Jinro to wash it all down.

Fried rice serving for my infant child at home. Looks like a leftovers portion.

We had the PA-BULOUS combo. This comes with sliced pork belly and green onion kimchi for $69 before tax. It is advertised as a portion for two people. My wife and I felt that the portion could comfortably serve 1 adult. It was overpriced, poorly cooked, and an extremely small portion. An additional serving of pork belly would have been $34. We opted to grab McDonald's on the way home. Attached is a picture of the fried rice serving. We had been here ~10 times before and never had issues with portions. I'm not sure what changed, but we won't be coming back. Edit: I had my wife raise my concerns with the owner because I do not speak Korean. We were told that the original combo that we order actually has more food than this new combo, and that he feels he already gives too much food. He responded to my critique by saying "why didn't you order the original combo that you were used to getting?" And "You are the first customer to raise concerns about our portions." Regardless of if we are the first or one hundredth customers to give this criticism it is obvious that it was not taken to heart. This conversation further solidified our decision to look elsewhere for korean bbq in the future.

Probably the best Korean bbq I've had in LA, and that's saying a lot. For the moment they brought out the banchan, I knew I was in for a night. Each side dish was delicious- something I can't always say at kbbq. The japchae was especially good. Then came the meats. The beef belly was cooked perfectly and crispy, and it paired nicely with the ponzu sauce. Side note- I like that the server told us what sauce to pair with each meat course. The steak came with fondue that was dippable and added a nice flavor to the meat. My ONE gripe was service- we sat for a while after we finished eating waiting for the bill. But I think they were a bit short staffed- our server was running around. So they still get 5 stars. Will definitely return.

TLDR: Tasty cuts of meat and caring staff but beware of the oil splatters! - - - - - - Mun Patio was a nice alternative to the usual AYCE KBBQ. With three friends, we ordered their OMG set $200, which featured a variety of beef belly, hanging tender, ribeye, and pork jowl. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't salivating the moment I saw the tray of meat coming... but first that soybean paste stew! I generally pass this off at KBBQ, restaurants, and even when I was in Korea. However, the one here was outstanding; I'm not sure what they put in here, but that was a remarkable bowl. Each of the meats were cooked to perfection, and the staff even asked about our preference for the ribeye (medium rare)! The staff were also attentive and caring - even brought treats for a doggo - throughout dinner and recommended sauces for each cut of meat. For example, beef belly with their cheese fondue? YUM! Surprisingly, none recommended the wasabi, which in my opinion paired well with pork jowl. If arctic surf clam sashimi could come in a turf edition, it'd likely be this! Parking wasn't available around the block in the underground structure near H Mart for $5 on a Friday night, and they are also an outdoors restaurant and dog friendly (yay)! At the end, we were satisfied but ordered their acorn seafood pancake, too, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and chewy, with tasty crunchy edges. Getting their attention to order the acorn seafood pancake and the check took a while, but the night ended with a complimentary pink lemonade slushie. The straw was a tad difficult to drink from, so we mainly used it as a scooper. Overall an amazing experience outside of the slower service once our last meat was cooked and the constant oil splashes for those sitting nearer the grill. May sound silly, but I may be bringing a face shield and long sleeved clothes for my next visit!

Food was incredible but service was equally as slow. There was unfortunately only one server on a Monday night and had to ask multiple times to get things. Both the beef and pork eats are great! Love the stir fried rice they make for you at the end. Love that it's outdoors, looks nice and good circulation

Cold noodle... a bit weird with green onions imo
    Christine K.

It was ok. Place is small. They had the smokless grill. Was sat by window. Service was good and the servers were cute.ha Meats were good but nothing off the charts. Cold noodle was weird... green onions made it weirder. Ill prolly still go to my normal spots. Try King Chang LA. See my review for that place. But no smokeless grill. I parked at the structure for $5 flat rate- see their ig highlight.

We did the pork set that came with pork shoulder, jowl, and belly. It was really good bbq, I enjoyed all the side dishes and salad, The meal ended with fried rice and it was good, but lacking a bit. It was $70 for 2 people and it was very filling. service was great and so friendly.

    Susie L.

Food was good, my son and I enjoyed our time here the staff were super friendly. The outdoor is dog friendly, they do need to figure out how to clean all the oil stains on the floor. We order Don~tactic you choose 3 different pork cut. I would want more side dishes they just had had basic ones. Bbq..ends with fried rice. The ramen station is extra fee so it's not included in your meal. As all Korean bbq they cook for you. Parking was street parking.

This restaurant was recommended and I'm glad I ran with it. This has got to be one of my favorite KBBQ spots in LA. The restaurant is casual. You can sit inside or be served on the patio. The patio area is dog friendly. The food is so good and the service is one of the best I have experienced. The staff is friendly and attentive. Shoutout to the owners and our waitress for such a great experience. I can't wait to eat here again.

After eating roughly a hundred Michelin stars around the world, my usual take on LA fine dining has…read morebeen: the plating is often very competent, but the soul is frequently out of office. Then I went back to Firstborn twice within three months. This newly listed 2025 tasting menu spot actually made me feel a little hopeful about LA fine dining again. The shiso with razor clam and beef cheek cochon, and the black cod with green Sichuan pepper mala noodles, are both full-on collisions between deep animal savoriness and sharp, vivid spice. Then dishes like roasted artichoke and morel stuffed with green peas bring the seasonality into clear focus. The menu is not huge, but every dish has a defined structure and a bold sense of movement. On paper, it reads a little mysterious and intimidating; once you eat it, everything suddenly makes perfect sense, and honestly, it gets addictive. The ingredient selection and handling are also seriously thoughtful. Take the aged duck main course. I am very much a "if there is duck on the fine dining menu, I'm ordering it" person, and I've had plenty of beautifully rich, tender duck breasts. But Firstborn's version, beyond being tender and luscious, had that Cantonese sense of "gan xiang" -- the sweet, savory aroma you get from naturally air-dried, aged meats. For a second, I had this flashback to going with my family as a kid to Xing Fu Lou in Wenquan for Lutian cured meats during winter solstice. Absurdly good. Calling it the Duck King of the West Coast does not feel excessive. On my second visit, the truffle and wild mushroom "gnudi" was also excellent. The moment it hit the table, that intense truffle aroma made me think of the deep, earthy punch of French Périgord black truffle. But then I thought, wait, where are they getting Périgord in June? Turns out they were using Australian winter truffle, perfectly in season. That sourcing logic is smart. It is not expensive for the sake of being expensive; it actually understands the flavor window. The fire-grilled lamb saddle on the second visit was just as strong. It preserved the soft, tender texture of the cut without losing that sweet, milky lamb flavor. Grilled over open flame to a rosy medium rare, the flavor, doneness, and ingredient choice all landed. To me, a great restaurant comes down to three things: concept, ingredients, and seasoning. Some fine dining places love making everything complicated, stacking seven or eight ingredients together, serving a dozen-plus courses, and by the end you feel exhausted and sleepy. Firstborn is the opposite. It is unconventional, but from amuse-bouche to dessert, every dish explains its own logic clearly. Final feeling after the meal: addictive, interesting, and absolutely worth coming back for.

Maybe it is good and special for some people, but my party don't really enjoy the interesting taste and the non-alcoholic drink which I order tastes very weird, which I can't finish it- even it is just like 1-2oz? My friend's cocktail tastes very so so too. The restaurant is nice and clean. We were there to celebrate a birthday, but we didn't know the restaurant doesn't have any candles. They didn't offer to sing a birthday song or anything for us. I really don't think we will come back again. Not recommended.
