These movers are absolutely fantastic! I had a small, last minute move and called about 8 different places to get a quote. Most companies were completely booked and were quoting me prices that i couldn't afford and minimum hours that were well beyond what my small requirements were. This company not only was very affordable but they were able to move my stuff within 1 day of me making the call. No one else was able to get even close to the level of accommodating that these guys hit. Movers were friendly and professional and got my furniture moved quickly and safely. They took alot of care to wrap everything up really well and moved it out of the house and into the storage unit with no problems at all. spent 6.5 hours moving a 550sq feet apartment, which should be a 3 hour max moving job with professional mover using right tools and skills. We are talking about 30 boxes, 1 bed set, 2 desks and that's it. unprofessional and deceiving. One will hide somewhere to play on his phone if you don't go get him after removing stuff from the apt. The other obviously doesn't know what to do and caught him restocking boxes in the truck and doing other useless work. They will move boxes one by one to the truck instead of using a tool to get 4,5 boxes together to the truck? and then spent long time to rearrange them? I think they did this way on purpose so they charge more hours. You have to constantly manage, monitor and tell them what to do. Every time when they remove something from the apt, you have to go get them back, otherwise they hide somewhere and just disappear for 10 mins. They also spent 10 mins on their way to the new apt filling gas, which is $25 of my money. for additional hours beyond 3 hours, they insist on charging me whopping $150/hour for 2 movers while on his website it's $89.99? They don't have the right tool to disassemble furniture and took them a hour to disassemble a bed and put it together? They don't wrap the bed in the truck and headboard gets dings. They don't assemble shelves properly as they don't bring electrical drill. Please, if you need get ripped off, use this company. read more

Really great moving team. I would completely recommend this agency if you are moving anywhere around the bay area. They came, helped us pack up our house, went to our storage place then packed that up as well, and moved us into our third story loft apartment up 5 flights of stairs with no complaints. Seriously the guys are heroes in my book. While the lady friend and I did help out (it was only fair), Jimmy and Lupe carried up all the heavy stuff quickly and quietly. Nothing was broken, no scratched up furniture, and generally a super pleasant experience. We moved down from SF to San Jose (into a 3rd story loft apartment) in a matter of 5 hours with their help. I unfortunately cannot recommend this company to anybody moving within the Bay Area. We requested help moving our items from our home into a few pods in our driveway. Please see the attached posted photo of what the last pod looked like. The movers saw nothing wrong with carelessly stacking our households items, not wrapping them or tying them down despite provided blankets and tie downs. I spoke with the company, exchanging what we each felt would be appropriate to resolve the issue. They offered an additional hour of help at no cost, but my apologies if I don't want your movers coming back out to rearrange the pod they left looking as so. My husband and I were able to do it by ourselves. I requested a partial refund, I haven't heard from the company in a week. Most often times little things go wrong during moves, I'm a fairly understanding person, but this company's inability to finish a discussion to resolve the issue speaks volumes. I'm uncertain how you pack items this way and feel you're offering a valued service. I would advise people against wasting their money. read more

I hired My Great Movers for an in-town move of a 3 Bed/2 Bath home. The overall experience with the movers was great once it got going. The guys were worth 4*s but the truck/timeliness worth only 2*s. Average to 3*s We had packed almost everything that could fit into a box, plus some loose bulky items. 3 guys, Adam, Francis, and Emiliano got right to it. They moved the furniture first, then the boxes, each in their own load, and then the last bulky/odd items in a final load. They worked well together and packed the truck in well, and used stretch wrap to keep the movable parts of furniture tightly in place. They helped to break down some furniture pieces that needed it (bed from headboard, etc.). All three guys worked steadily for 8 hours, and were very nice and professional. I'm not sure if they brought lunch or not, but I got a pizza order and we had a chance to sit down and talk before finishing off the job. They actually showed up a bit late due to an accident and as a result, a different truck was brought. I can't fact check if that's really what happened or if that is the stock excuse for being late. I also don't know if the truck they brought was the same size as they had intended to bring because with an appropriately sized truck it would have been just 2 trips and probably a shorter move. My move was less than a mile so it did not matter but for ~15 extra minutes; if it had been 10 miles or more then it definitely would have been annoying and at added expense. I recommend MyGreatMovers, but strongly suggest: 1) Be very prepared - box everything that you can, break down furniture to movable sizes, and clear a path so that you are ready to do it when they get there. 2) Demand a truck that's right for the job, or compensation if they don't deliver. The workers + truck + moving equipment was a good value. If I had the time and appetite for it, I could have saved a little getting a truck myself, plus day laborers. Making that hassle go away was easily worth the few extra hundred dollars. read more

These guys were very friendly and professional. They are also very affordable. I scheduled a delivery at 10 AM on Friday. They showed up on time, delivered all my stuff quickly and safely. They took care in making sure that all the furniture are wrapped and secure. When they got to my new place, I realized I forgot 2 shelf units. They agreed to return and deliver it to my new place. (It wasn't a far drive, but they were very willing to do that and didn't charge extra for it.) They also installed a new TV I bought. read more

I used 'My Great Movers' for my recent apartment move. They movers were very professional and hardworking. The move lasted 3.5 hours and they hardly took any breaks. They arrived bang on time and brought a truck with soft padding on all sides to prevent any damage/scratches to furniture. They were very careful with all the furniture and boxes and even wrapped some items where necessary to prevent them from getting dirty during the move (and I did not even ask for it!). They quoted just $65/hour with absolutely no hidden charges/surprises (my move was from a second floor apartment to another second floor apartment with no elevators in either of them and I had many heavy items). And at the end of the move, when I was expecting to be charged for 4 hours (like most movers do), they pleasantly surprised me by prorating the changes for exactly the time they worked.
