Came for the atmosphere and location where I met my party right behind the kitchen in an enclosed meeting room and was impressed with the decor and ambiance. You walk in and immediately feel like a VIP, the service was top notch but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The portions on most "entrees" are small plates with entree prices and my salad was what you'd expect from a chain restaurant. I think their small menu indicates a real focus on food quality, like what is customary but was supremely disappointed in Narratives offerings. Probably won't be back. read more

This is a cute restaurant under a hotel. Super clean and perfect for a date night or in our case girls night. Reservations are recommended. The service was on point. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. I heard the menu changes often to serve with what is more fresh or seasonal. The positive is that there is something new to try but a con is if you love soemthing so much and want it again it may not be there for you. In my opinion everything was good, but I loved the appetizers more than the entrees. The lobster corn dog was the best thing on the menu, esp with that jalapeño hot sauce! The Cesar devil eggs, you can't go wrong with. But I wish there was more of the salad. The egg ratio to salad needs to be more equal. The Thai shrimp and burr are caprese was nothing special. The Tuscan chicken was good, wasn't dried out and a huge portion- Def can share. The sauce complimented the chicken very well. The steak was cooked perfectly. The short rib and bolognese were good. What a wonderful place for dinner! I started with a delicious cocktail that contained gin, sencha tea, egg white. So pretty and tasty! The artichoke appetizer and poke appetizer they're both exceptional - we even got an additional order of the poke because it was so good. I loved the tender scallop entree but tried some of the korean short rib and that was so juicy and flavorful as well. Finally, while I'm not a desert person the table ordered the marscapone cheesecake, chocolate molten cake, and the warm chocolate cookies. If I could give 3 1/2 I would, the food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the fries and the kale salad. The happy hour drinks were lackluster and had about zero taste. I would skip the happy hour drinks altogether and just go to one of the $15 rings you'll save yourself the nine dollars of having to drink something you hate. read more

We had dinner at narrative with some friends while in town and we really had a great time. Great costumer service and good food. As appetizer we tried their tuna poke and fried green tomatoes. I would recommend to try both they were so good! For entrees we had shrimps and grits ( they were ok, no my fav dish tho) and their short ribs braised for 48-hours in Korean bbq sauce- so good!! As dessert we tried the mascarpone cheesecake which was delicious-I could not stop eating it! and sorbet with mix berries. Cocktails were excellent! My only complain would be about their wine list. It's pretty confusing and the descriptions of the wine is not really accurate. Overall we had such a great time and I would definitely recommend this place! When you walk in, it has a very nice decor and we were greeted immediately. We sat at some tables in the bar area for happy hour. Our server mentioned that cocktails were two dollars off for happy hour and wine was half off. As we looked at the menu, it said that cocktails were eight dollars (that's more than two dollars off) and the half off wine had some exclusions. We asked her about that and she said she thought that the bourbon drinks were two dollars off and the rest were eight dollars and she wasn't exactly sure which wines were excluded. We ended up getting a couple of eight dollar cocktails and they were very good. We also ordered some happy hour food. My favorite was the artichoke toast, followed by the meatballs. I liked the crab fritters, but not for $16. We also ordered the beets and they had a lovely presentation, but the beets themselves didn't have that much flavor. Could've just been a blah batch. The service was overall good, but a little scattered (i.e. cleared most of our dirty plates but left one, the questions on the happy hour menu, etc.). I think this place has a lot of potential, but it is new and it seems like it's still working out a few kinks. read more

The restaurant at the Jacquard hotel in Cherry Creek. Great location, nice clean design, and fine food. Usually not too crowded. Free valet parking up to three hours which in hard-to-find-parking Cherry Creek North is a big plus. Have had many of the menu items, for lunch, dinner and brunch - never been disappointed. Only minor complaint - no restrooms in the restaurant or even the ground floor of the hotel. You have to take the elevator to the second floor of the hotel to find facilities. read more

None of the food was hot enough (soggy lobster corn dogs) and I ordered the corn chowder which the server forgot my spoon twice so it was cold when I finally ate it. Gimlet was incorrectly made. I had the best pork shoulder roast it was perfectly portioned not overly sweet not to fatty smooth super tender if I could have I would have licked the plate. Our server was super nice and sweet attentive. Beautiful smile! The hostess was really nice also. Beautiful nails! My partner had the tenderloin he was in heaven with the creamy mashed potatoes loved them. My stepson had the salmon he said it was super buttery and good. Great wine selection. Place was nice and clean and very white everywhere -- but pretty. Came for brunch on a Sunday. Service was pretty prompt, and everyone was attentive. Ordered two smoothies, a cappuccino, and eggs Benedict and Burrata. An extra cappuccino came out (which we were charged for and then asked for it to be removed; cappuccino seemed to have been a latte (didn't complain but, meh). Burrata came out and was half of a Burrata -- little disappointing. Eggs Benedict was ordered medium and came out completely runny with some clear white even ... asked for it to be remade and it came back perfect -- but this was after my friend already finished eating everything. No salt and pepper at our table. Disappointed that a manager didn't come over or that one of our drinks wasn't comped. Would maybe go back, maybe wouldn't. read more

Hostess was great and friendly and cleaned our table herself to get us seated quickly which was great. Service was really spotty and slow. Sat for 10 mins before we saw a waiter. Ordered coffee. Coffee was dropped off with no sweetener or ask if we wanted it. Asked waitress for sweetener. 10 mins passed, asked hostess, 5 minutes passed, asked the busboy who brought our breakfast - and he walked away, brought the sweetener right back - but no spoons on the table. I just don't understand this lack of service and poor execution at a place where 2 plates of eggs and 2 cups of coffee runs $50 including a 15% tip. Bloody Mary was all horseradish and clear looking. Sent back and requested to remove from bill, which it was. What a discovery! My date and I were on our way to go to a French restaurant in the iconic neighborhood of Cherry Creek tonight, and this contemporary restaurant all of a sudden appeared right in front of our eyes. Without hesitation, we popped into it and got us a tiny cocktail table; we didn't care about the French restaurant anymore. Our instinct was right. Although this place is not necessarily categorized as a wine bar/restaurant, it offers a huge wine library containing nearly 1,000 bottles. It also has a good amount of entrees as well as shareable plates. The high ceiling with open space makes you comfortable even with the limited COVID seating. I got me the Greek wine Skouras Saint George Aghiorghitiko. I am a huge fan of Europe reds especially Spanish wines but I don't think I had ever had a Greek wine in the past until today. What an excellent smooth wine it was! The appetizer olives (only $6) had a very generous portion as well. I know COVID has forced many restaurants to close their doors including some of my favorite wine restaurants in the Denver metro area and yet it's so good to know that this art gallery looking restaurant that doesn't look like it offers a great range of wines has survived through this harsh COVID weathers. This is now my favorite restaurant in Cherry Creek! read more

I'm torn on how to rate this one. The food was delicious and a surprisingly good portion. The service was horrible from start to finish. When I walked in, it was a good 3 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us as the host stepped away to set a table for the party of 3 in front of us. When she noticed us, she literally handed the previous party a stack of menus and waved them to the table she'd set while she made the time to seat us. Four different people came and asked for a drink order before said order (mimosas) was brought to the table. Everyone was chaotic and frenzied, which one would expect for Saturday brunch-ish. But that was the thing--the restaurant was half full and had more staff than they needed for the number of people that needed service at that time. The person we finally figured out was our server flopped tiredly into the booth next to us to take our order. Which, in a diner, kinda makes sense, but in a nice spot in Cherry Creek North, was totally misaligned behavior with the atmosphere. When our food was half eaten, the server slapped our check down on the table and offered us a box, but we were clearly still eating and had planned to order another round of drinks. We felt rushed out, again, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't busy. When it came time to pay, she disappeared for at least ten minutes with our cards, even though she picked ours up at the same time as the table next to us, and she brought theirs back promptly. I feel like I need to watch my card for fraud now. Oh, and when all was said and done, I went to use the restroom upstairs (which I imagine is part of the adjacent hotel) but it had been completely commandeered by a bridal party getting dressed. read more

It's not a huge space, but it's a hotel restaurant so I guess it's what I should have expected. I came here for a Valentine's Day dinner and we ordered Brussels sprouts and the lobster corndogs to start. Brussels were probably the best I've ever tried. They were perfectly caramelized and crispy. The lobster dogs were overrated in my opinion but I think that's just bc everyone hyped them up and for me they just lacked flavor. The entrees we tried were the short ribs and the burger. Both were good but the side salad for the burger actually stole the show. We didn't expect that but tried to recreate it at home it made such a good impression. Service was good and they made ordering simple and easy. The drinks were really high quality. If you're staying for dessert get the fresh chocolate chip cookies. They add sea salt and they melt in your mouth. You won't regret it. read more

Three of us had lunch here recently. The space itself is hip, but I thought the ceiling high fake book shelves were odd. We shared the burrata, the loaded hummus, the poke, and a chicken chopped salad. Really no complaints about the food, all fresh and nicely done. The service was also attentive. Tonight one of my favorite girl friends and I decided to go out for a nice dinner and drinks for Halloween! I decided on Narrative and yelping for a bit, and so we made our reservation, and headed down. Now, the restaurant is beautiful and intimate. True decor and furniture is comfortable and stylish. Our waiter, who did not mention his name, was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable of the drink menu and gave us incredible suggestions based on our preferences. He was also very friendly not just to us, but to both the other tables near us. He went out of the way to ensure everyone's experience was top notch! We started with the deviled eggs and Cesar salad, and were pleasantly surprised on their take of this classic! This is definitely worth A try! We ordered the salmon entree and the gnocchi entree with sausage. Our waiter described the gnocchi as "decadence on a plate." Boy, was he spot on, and someone should congratulate t s man on his ability to sell this food. He had me sold. The gnocchi really was decadent and there was definitely an intricate depth of flavor to this dish! My friends salmon was also delicious, and was full of bold flavor! We also ordered a side of the truffle mashed potatoes and it was heaven in each bite! The only downside to this experience was that the bathroom is literally up three flights of stairs.
