This has been a neighborhood staple for years. It goes up and down in quality over time. Unfortunately during COVID time it's really gone downhill. The Fried Rice was inedible (I was hungry and I'm not a picky eater); oily, terribly overcooked, no pork visible. I understand that the gyoza are commercial, but they too were overcooked and oily. I asked for water (the rest of my party had ordered beers). They told me they didn't serve water and I'd have to buy a large bottle. We were sitting perched on tables that were too close together and right next to the ordering window. No sanitizer anywhere. I watched people come up and wait a long time for food they had called in for. I believe this is part of a chain. Management should take notice of what's happening. read more

I decided for this restaurant due to the anime (Naruto). As it could not me different I ordered the Naruto Ramen, but spicy. The dish was served very quickly and it was well presented and delicious!! Except that it was a little too spicy for me, but that's my taste. Anyway, I would definitely return to have the Naruto Ramen, but not the spicy one! Lol read more

I looked up what the best Ramen place in the city was. This was still the top of the list and it didn't disappoint!!! It shaped my Ramen experience and will forever be the the place I just all others against. I had the house Ramen. Fantastic! Noodles were cooked to perfection and the broth was to die for!! The fried pot stickers were crispy and perfect. The cabbage was fresh and the amount of seasoning was just right. My favorite part of this whole experience was the tea egg. I had never had one before. It was amazing!!!!!!! I have been back. I will be back. If you haven't been you MUST go!!!!! read more

I have to admit Naruto Ramen is one of my favorite spot in the city. I've made special trips to my favorite location on 89th street alone or with my favorite people... my daughters. I visited the Broadway location on a Daddy Daughter dinner date with my youngest lady and although it's not as intimate as the 89th St location it's still the same quality food. read more

After passing this place multiple times I finally decided to try it this afternoon. I was seated at the bar even though there were multiple tables available. I wanted to order the lunch special chicken teriyaki with five hypnotized but they told me it only came with pork gyoza. After insisting multiple times I saw vegetable gyoza on their website menu they finally told me they HAVE vegetable gyoza BUT under no circumstances could they be substituted for the pork gyoza. I had to pay $17 for what should have come in the lunch special for $13. I understand charging a couple dollars more for substitution, but to refuse to substitute is really not friendly. The food was good, the chicken teriyaki portion was small for the $12 they made me pay. They need friendlier waiters that care about customers. read more

We have been here five or six times now! Little Guy loves the Naruto, I go for the spicy Naruto. The portion sizes guarantee two meals for one and the prices are low! As is normal with ramen places, it's small and narrow. Little Guy and I like to sit at the bar and watch the cooks do their thing. Big Guy is not a fan of small places so we do takeout for him and the food travels well. As for non-ramen items the tacoyaki is gooooood, perfectly fried plump balls of deliciousness. And mmmmm the pork buns! Big Guy loves the teriyaki chicken dinner and the chicken curry. Super tasty sauce that is not too spicy for those who like milder food. Best of all is the service, every single person who works here is friendly and polite. They care about your experience and offer excellent, low key hospitality. Highly recommend. read more

For years, I passed by the Naruto Ramen location on the Upper East Side as I took my old M98 Bus back to Washington Heights after work. There were always times when I was tempted to hop off at 96th Street to grab a bowl, but my need to go home and relax was always much higher. Imagine my surprise when I saw one being set up around the corner from my beau's apartment! We went on a Tuesday evening around 7 p.m., a few days after its official opening. It certainly was not packed by any means, which boded well for us. We sat at the bar, colorful paintings surrounding us. I went simple and ordered the Miso Ramen, and the beau went for the Chicken Curry Ramen. Both were excellent! I prefer a tonkotsu broth, but their miso broth was rich in its own right. The noodles were the perfect thickness and just a hair al dente, which I liked. I had a few bites of the Chicken Curry Ramen, and it was delightful and quite different from any ramen bowl I'd ever had. Curry and ramen definitely make for a good marriage. Also, the piece of fried sliced chicken on it held up well, still crunchy, even in the broth. Both of us left pleased and very full; we couldn't finish our bowls! Ha! (Luckily, it was mostly broth that we each left behind.) I'm glad to have another soupy option in this neighborhood! read more

i really enjoyed my meal here. The soup was flavorful and the restaurant was really cool. The only negative worth pointing out was the marinated soft boiled egg, it was not soft boiled and the yolk was completely cooked thru. no bueno as the egg that is served with ramen should be soft boiled. I had the spicy naruto ramen, and it was okay. The broth is soy sauce based, so the flavors are a lot less rich than the typical miso or pork broth. I found the soup to be a bit too thin and the flavor, while quite nice, just doesn't have that savory, satisfying quality that is found at places like Ippudo. Their pork pieces had a good texture, but I found them to be too sweet for my liking. Service was quick and restaurant was clean and quiet, but they didn't have a lot the appetizers on the menu available. Overall a decent place to get ramen. read more

So, I finally decided to go to Naruto. The place is small, but not uncomfortably so. I ordered the veggie ramen bowl. It was ok, but not as good as the Yasai ramen from Lucky Cat. Also, it was priced the same as the animal carcass bowls. It seems it should have been a bit less expensive, but $13 is tolerable. The stoves are pretty close. When seated at the bar, you can almost lean over the counter and touch the stoves. You can smell all the items while they are being cooked, so if you are into that sort of thing, you will be quite happy! I will probably continue to go to Lucky Cat, but when I don't feel like making the trek, I will definitely return to this place. read more

We drove into the city to taste authentic ramen for the first time EVER! What a fantastic experience. The service was great, food was perfect! We started with spicy edamame, veggie goyoza, and the spicy sausage. The sake was a nice warming treat coming in from the cold. The NARUTO ramen as well as the vegetarian ramen were both yummy. Came here last night for dinner. It is cozy and small but fortunately there was room to sit. The service was extremely kind and attentive. The small plates are exceptional. We got the daikon salad which was large, fresh, and deliciously dressed (and I usually do not like salad dressing), the pork buns which also were exceptional (the pork was very flavorful and lean but juicy and well seasoned with a certain degree of sweetness from the dressing). We shared the large mega spicy ramen which was a huge portion of ramen easily shareable for two. It tasted very homemade with very fresh ramen nodules, very flavorful broth (which was reduced and thick but a tad too salty) and many vegetables which I loved!!
