I went around 11:30 AM on a Monday to order take out at the restaurant. There's a parking lot around back and plenty of spaces. I'm guessing due to the pandemic, they were not charging for parking (but the notice posted at the entrance of the parking lot does say that the first hour is free with validation). The menu was posted right next to the entrance of the restaurant. I went in to place my order: Chicken Tikka Masala (which was recommended highly by the server), Vegetable Korma, and the Bread Basket. He told me it would take 15-20 minutes for the order to be ready and he would bring it out to me. When I received my order, everything was hot hot hot. It stayed that way for the 12 minute drive home and throughout my meal. Both the korma and the tikka masala was delicious. I do wish I asked it to be spicier because the medium was a little too tame for me. Still amazing though. The naan was fluffy and flavorful. Although the roti was a little tough to chew, I honestly didn't mind all that much. I was dipping it in the korma and in heaven. I've only had their weekend lunch buffet ($11.95 per adult, half of that for kids 3+), so this review is purely based on that rather than their actual a la carte menu. Their buffet selection is okay. There's the regular salad, raita (yogurt), and some dressings. There's rice. They have a bunch of different chicken curries and just chicken without the sauce (tandoori). Sorry, I forget and not too familiar with the names of the foods. There was a veggie curry (too much cauliflower, not my thing), another veggie curry with chick peas, and the spinach curry with cheese bits inside. The spinach one was good - it tasted amazing with the plain naan that the buffet comes with. There was also one goat curry. So if you enjoy chicken and veggies and Indian curry, I'd recommend their lunch buffet. I came here because the Indian restaurant that I used to go to in Pasadena was closed, and they had samosas in their lunch buffet. New Delhi did not have them, so that was a bummer. I'm not sure if they do a rotation and I missed it, but they had a large plate of veggies - broccoli, carrots, seasoned potatoes - fries. The buffet comes with wither chai tea, sweet lassi (not too sweet thank goodness), soda, or champagne. Dessert includes rice pudding or mango pudding. The mango pudding had chunks of canned fruit cocktail, which was an interesting surprise. The flavor was delicious though. It tasted way better than it looked. Drink, all you can eat, dessert for $11.95 + tax. Not a bad deal.... however, where were my samosas? Service was very nice. I brought my 2 babies with me, and they were very accommodating. My shy daughter enjoyed interacting to the individuals here, which was a good sign. I'd definitely come back to try their main menu, but lunch buffet is so much cheaper for the variety. read more

Friendly helpful staff and outstanding authentic food! This has been our go to spot for Indian food in LA. One night, we accidentally placed our order for pick up instead of delivery. Luckily, we ordered through the preferred app Chow Now, and we were able to call the restaurant and have them change it to delivery. Our food arrived super quick! Definitely order through Chow Now- it's easier to solve any problems (and mistakes!) AND they don't charge the restaurant exorbitant fees like most other apps. Came here on a Sunday for dinner. The place had a few patrons, but otherwise pretty empty. Service was fine; neither amazing nor horrible. For food, we got a bunch of stuff, which I will not list. I came with a group of wimps, so nothing was ordered spicy, which is a bummer, but our fault. The Naan was a little dry. The next day (because Indian food is amazing for leftovers), the rice held up, the chicken held up, the sauce was still not spicy and the Naan was eaten in the middle of the night, so I didn't get any. read more

This place was a shock to us given all the 5 star reviews. The 1st shock was the tiny amount of choices for the lunch buffet. Compared to other Indian restaurants, that was one let down here. Then other shock was how bland the food was. Indian food is all about the flavor. The food here tastes like McDonald's. The curries were very watery. There was barely food in the trays. Could be due to the low turnout due to the disappointing buffet. There is a serious questions of how this place got so many 5 star reviews. Great place with excellent service. The parking is not free like other people said, but we managed to find street parking a block away. The food here was awesome but a bit pricey, so I wouldn't come unless I had a coupon or something. Here's what we got: -Paneer Pakora (cheese fritters) -Garlic Naan -Paneer Naan (Cheese Naan) -Chicken Tikki Sag -Classic Lamb Curry -Mango Lassi (smoothie) -Chai Tea) Everything was delicious but the cheese fritters were only so-so to me; I was expecting mozarella sticks where the cheese is gooey but the fritters were just tough cheese with a thin layer of batter. I love the sauces that come with their crunchy sesame pancake they started us off with, so that helped get us through the cheese fritters. The naan was like $3-$4 each, which was expected but they don't give you that much, BUT the flavoring was excellent and went well with the delicious curries we got. For the Chicken Tikki Sag, we saw orange stuff in the curry. I thought it was crab shell, my boyfriend thought it was carrot, but it was literally, an orange chicken piece, Indian style haha. It was just chicken pieces with a bright orange layer on top. As for the drinks, they were small but good enough since we were distracted by the curries and naan breads haha. The smoothie wasn't too thick and creamy, just right, and for the chai tea, I had to add 3 packs of sugar for it to taste good. The service was really excellent. The only bad thing was when our waiter who was taking our order asked if we wanted naan with the "meal", even though ordering naan "separately" vs. adding naan to a curry dish makes no difference in price. It took us a few minutes to finally understand that there was no point in him asking, so that was frustrating. Other than that, the other waiters checked up on us and filled our waters very often. I've been to many Indian places from Sherman Oak, Burbank, to Glendale, but never in Pasadena. This was a first. My wife claimed that she hated Indian food because it stank. After further investigation, I've learned that she had never tried Indian food and she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. I'm glad we stumbled on to this place. This is the best Indian I have ever had. And I am glad that she liked it a lot. This place may be our new weekly dinner spot since it's walking distance for us. read more

NDP great Indian food, staff are wonder speedy and prompt service this has to be one of the local hot spots because the revolving door never stopped every few minutes more people walked in. I'm sorry for I'm not familiar with the names of the food but everything was delicious and wonderfully made. This was my first experience having Indian food and will not be the last. Unfortunately I don't what's happen to the manager's choices, but the tandoori chicken has been really bad the last several times I have gone here. Everything else remains really good, but the chicken flavor is not good anymore and it is really really dry every time they serve it and when I do a pick up order. If you're going to eat Indian food, why not get the best? Every dish I've tried here is by far the best I've had. When you order the item very spicy, it fulfills my spicy tooth. The fish vindaloo, channa masala, daal, and many other items on the menu are my go-to dishes. They did mess up my order once, but they made it right. The customer service is 5/5 as well. The personnel were friendly and courteous, the place clean, the ambiance cozy but comfortable with nice 2nd floor view of the mountains and most importantly ... most all you can eat buffet's tend to lose a little bit on the flavor because it is "massed produced" for many. However, taking this into consideration, as far as Indian food goes, the flavor for the "mass produced" all you can eat buffet here was as good as and even better than some restaurants were you order a single special meal. New Delhi Palace has been our favorite Indian restaurant for 20 years. We've tried everything in and around San Gabriel valley. We continue to prefer the food here. Love the service provided at this restaurant and the great food. Their vegetarian dishes are absolutely the best. I love kheer and would always go and order this delicious rice pudding dish. The first time I dined in, when I asked some more kheer to go, they generously gave me huge scoops to take without additional charge. The second time I went during the pandemic, I only ordered kheer and they said "Merry Christmas" and gave for no charge! Even though they kept giving me free kheer, I really wanted to support their business during the pandemic so that I could keep enjoying their foods. I've been coming to this place since I was young with my dad. Their lunch all you can eat is $19/person as of September 2022 and it's from 11am-2:30pm. You get free unlimited roti/naan(I'm not sure which one but it's good) that they bring fresh from the kitchen and there is dessert in the form of fruits and mango tapioca pudding. The other dishes are tasty but if you come expecting a lot of meat you may be disappointed. The only meat they have is chicken and it's in about 4 of the dishes. Best Indian food in Los Angeles, and Singapore for that matter. Chicken tiki masala full of flavor, so is the the naan. Any one dish here is better that any other version I've had of it in LA. Other than this one place in Bern Switzerland, New Delhi is by far the best!!! Also I can't recall if it's a merlot or Malbec, but it pairs nicely with all of it. Keep it up! read more
