Been wanting to stop in and check this spot out for the longest time. I finally decided to last night. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. Very clean spot . I ordered two of the Original Chopped Cheese . I didn't want to wait until I got home to eat the sandwich so I just ate it in my car. Ingredients tasted fresh especially when mixing a hot sandwich with cold toppings. The chopped cheese was seasoned great ,bread was soft. Overall it was a good sandwich.

Me and my girlfriends came here after a holiday bar outing. I tried a BCE sandwich which was pretty good and it hit the spot. My pic doesn't help much because I was starving and ready to eat. The service was friendly and helpful. Street parking only. A good spot for a late night craving.

Wow wow wow and wow! How I have never heard of this spot is beyond me. Life changing experience! The softness and warmth of the bread was perfect. The ratio of cheese to steak was amazing. 10/10 sandwich. Definitely one of my new favorites!

I was On my way to an event in Hollywood and saw this place. I've always wanted to try a Chopped Cheese sandwich. I walked in and got an overview from a very nice lady, said I'd be back after the event. I returned at 2:30am(they're open until 3) and she made one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Needless to say it did not disappoint. I have a new favorite in Hollywood and you should too!

This is New York's answer to a Philly Cheese and it doesn't disappoint. Definitely get it with their signature YERRR sauce. Sandwiches are large depending on how hungry you are, two can split one. It also seems there have been recent deletions from its menu. Check out my menu pictures.

First day back at work and I get an hour lunch, usually 30. Although we had no destination, I thought let's just go down Sunset and let's do whatever. On a side street, I spotted this little yellow-painted building, with signage that says, "Spanish coffee, breakfast, market" And I love breakfast at any time so I said let's check that out! It's a quaint spot limited stool seating not moveable. Courteous and helpful young lady taking the orders. Never have I ever eaten a NY chop-cheese and now I have. It was good, perhaps a bit better quality meat but reminded of Charley's Cheesesteaks. I do like that they do put lettuce and tomato. My buddy with me is vegan so he ordered the impossible (plant based). Unfortunately, they took forever got his order wrong and although I was the first in a group of people that came behind me I got my food last. He basically asked for a refund, we didn't time to wait for his to be made. I forgot I did get fries, those were good too, got a lil side of avocado alioli, yum yum! Just sucked cause I got only a few minutes to eat.

Not sure I get the hype. The classic was a bit boring for me but the banger was better. The fries were not crispy. Service was nice though and I enjoyed the music while I waited for the food. Street parking only and very limited seating - more of a takeout spot.

The chopped cheese here was fantastic! We tried several different versions over our past few visits and enjoyed all of them. Their sides and drinks are delicious too, food is made to order quickly. Prices are a bit high, but considering the novelty of it it is well worth the splurge. I love that they are open early for a hearty Breakfast/lunch.

Pretty tasty but I think I prefer Bodega Park's chopped cheese. It's definitely seasoned well, decent ratio of bread to meat, and the bread was soft. We just picked up, but street parking is definitely tough here. Can't say much about the service or ambience but it seems most people just do take out!

YERRRRRRRR! I had a brief obsession with chopped cheeses back in 2017-2018 up until I went to New York and finally tried one. I was NOT disappointed every burrow I went to I tried a chopped cheese even tried a very gentrified version which wasn't all that. So once I heard of this place I knew I had to try it. Walking in the stores aesthetic and theme is very on brand, they have candy, chips and other snacks that you'd find in a bodega. The window seal is draped with home supplies and cereal. I love a restaurant/storefront that goes all in on the theme. The service was immaculate the folks working the register were attentive and excited to answer any questions I had. I ordered The Banger, which is their classic chopped cheese with Banana Peppers, Crispy Shallots and their signature YERRR SAUCE, which is a spicy pickled garlic aioli. GASSSSSSSS I tell you. I ordered the meal and opted for tater tots which might've been the best decision I made aside from the getting the Banger. The tater tots were fried perfectly, crispy golden on the outside and soft on the inside and SEASONED by GOD himself. Wow! The Banger sandwich was everything I expected it to be, it tasted exactly like the first chopped cheese I every had in Brooklyn but a more mature, the crispy shallots and banana peppers make for an elegant experience! YOU HEARD! 10/10

Tried this spot out with my lady and it was a 10. I got the classic-she got the banger. Food is great. The vibes are even better. This is the spot you go to after Dot. The cure to a hangover. Got to chop it up with the owner Anthony a few days ago, stand up guy. A family man just out here hustling and I respect that. Lady and I will be back soon. Another W for the culture.

It is a small deli located near sunset blvd. Mostly meant for grab and go but theres 4 seats if you want to eat there. I went during lunch time on Saturday and there was no one there. There is only street parking on the residence streets. I had the chopped chicken on a roll and it was SUPER filling. I was full only halfway in. The taste is similar to chili. I had a bite of the Classic chopped cheese and its pretty much a philly cheese steak but chopped. Both super delicious

absolute fire Like most foodies or people with instagram and YouTube I've heard of the infamous chopped cheese that's so popular in New York. So when I found this place on Yelp ANND it was only a 14 minute drive away. I had to make the trip. We pulled up Friday night around midnight on the corner of Sunset and... I forget, but I immediately got a New York vibe as people were double parked on both the left and right side on the narrow street. This place was poppin! It's a small shop with minimal seating (pro tip! call in or order online and pick it up cause there will likely be a wait). But the dude that took our order was chill and guided me through my first chopped cheese experience without being annoyed even though they were busy. The only draw back was the wait the guy before us said he'd been waiting for over 30 minutes but pretty sure that was because of two pretty large pick up orders that wi saw when I arrived. We got there at a good time and only waited about 20 honestly not too bad. I got the picante on a roll the big size which is 17$ plus tax- and fries the sandwich it's a decent size but not filling for me but the FLAVOR is there with the perfect amount of spice. Highly recommend and next time in Hollywood I'm defining spinning back... depending on traffic

    Unfortunately we are not :/.

Does this place still have the awesome east coast chip options (Utz, Wise, etc) seen in some of the pictures? That's the reason I really want to visit but it's a drive so…

I don't think I saw those brands at this location.

Our server, Kevin, was nice and took good care of us. I ordered the lox, egg & onion scramble with a side of potatoes. It seems like most people come here for lunch and, obviously, for the meat. My meal was fairly bland. I did get a side of the house green salsa and that helped. It was definitely not up to the same level as the pastrami though. I personally wouldn't come back myself, but I would go if someone I was with really wanted to come. Overall, this seems like a great place. They have their own parking lot across the street, they have their operation down to a T, and they really nail the things people come there for. I appreciate that they have alternative options, but I would try something different next time. Maybe their other scrambles or their French toast would be better.

So it's quite the coup that I finally made it on over to the Heights DABS! A slice of that 18 inch pie is on the brain today as I skip up the mini-staircase into the joint. Having just come from another not-to-be-named Pizza spot in the DTLA to NELA corridor, my hangdog face belies my energetic hoppin-pep-in-the-step into Heights, shaking off a droopy and disappointingly dry slice amidst the brain-bleeding profanity laced hate-punk screaming over that joint's speakers as I sized up the Margherita I always use as an avatar to benchmark how we dooooin' in the pizza quality and taste department no matter where I go. I confess I've been captured and SPOILED by love affairs with Greek Pizza in Boston, Deep Dish in Chicago, NYC greezy gooey goodness at 3am, and of course the ultimate seduction of sublime simplicity of the Neapolitan Pizzas of Napoli. Yes, I am a sucker for the traditional brick oven Margheritas and Bufalinas of Italia, just that simple barometer of OG greatness, minimalistic bliss. Less than 5 bucks and 10 min later, I'm ambling down said teeny stairs with a large warm white cardboard box that seems far too large for a mere SLICE. Have they made a packaging error? I was expecting a small thin wilty Dixie plate! These days, we don't wanna waste cardboard, do we? Driving off, I contemplate a spot to pull over along the Arroyo Seco to enjoy my dining behind the wheel. I just can't hold in my wondering, patience is definitely NOT a virtue when curiosity is just killing this Jazz Cat. A quick stop at a red light later, I can't hold it in any longer. FLIP. UP. THAT. LID! Daaaaaaammmnnnn! That is one MONSTROUS slice, as I slyly smile in astonishment! But my sly smile slowly segues to sadness, then semi-panicked confusion, disorientation, even! For THIS is not the Margherita one familiarly recognizes as the artistic minimalistic masterpiece a proper Neapolitan Margherita MUST BE! I am starting to get anxious, angsty, and now a bit ANGRY! what a fool I was! Instead I am misled into chow down mode to consume a Godzilla-sized molten mess of mossy dry basil haphazardly strewn about to and fro across the pie, resembling katsuo bonito flakes dancing around in the disarray of their differential dehydration! Inexplicably, jagged rows of somewhat square Roma tomatoes are lined up in lazy formations like a disorganized military company. What's more, the gooey globs of mozzarella are NOT expertly anchored down to the bed of cheese below, supposed to cling to the pie while providing just enough protruding relief like an old globe map with a mountain range rising above the horizon. Nope, they are instead here and there and almost everywhere, seemingly untethered to the matrix of cheese below, chaotically floating around like slightly rectangular glops of pale possible goodness?!!? JT, hold it together, you must attack this mess while it's still hot. Beep Beep! THE LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN MANY SECONDS AGO! Get thee to the Arroyo! Minutes later, I'm at my perch. I bite into the unruly beast. I am pleasantly greeted by a most satisfying CRUNCH! Then a chewy tug-tremendous! Then the mass of basil flakiness flying through my mouth and down the hatch, chased by those deeeelish misshapen untethered white cubes o' cheesiness charging down my throat aside tons of tumbling tomatoes! It's an absolute avalanche of WOW! It's like there's a party in my mouth, and the most unlikely heroes showed up and showed out! Let's add the Unconventional Neapolitanical Pizzas of Lincoln Heights to the Lovefest List! Heights DABS, you've made my day. Nothing succeeds like excess. In fact, most people will need a take out box for one less meal to cook. Delicatessen means delicate eating in German, but at a Jewish American Delicatessen, the emphasis is on the Eating, which I am not complaining. 1) I requested an off menu item of having a Reuben sandwich where half is Corned Beef and the other Pastrami. Brent's Reuben has warm Sauerkraut, grilled Rye bread, melted Swiss Cheese, 1,000 Island dressing. Thinly sliced, multi-layered Mound of Pastrami is a bit on the dry side. Curing doesn't create a deep meaty Umami and spicing is present but attenuated. The Corned Beef is moister with bit more Umami & plush, thin multi-layered red colored meat. I have to say the Pastrami at Langer's is cured more intensely to bring out a deep Umami as well as more complex and complementary spicing of especially warm spiced cloves that adds aromatic richness. Brent's Pastrami doesn't seem to reach that kind of apotheosis. 1b) I asked for the steak fries to be fried two minutes longer for a crisper finish which was honored. Not much in way of that distinctive potato earthiness, but acceptable. 1c) Coleslaw is mayonnaise based, watery, bland, but a good cruciferous, fibrous veggie to add more fibre, healthful phytochemicals to counter the meat overload even though it isn't flavourful 2) Carrot Cake is closer to a delicate, dense, moist spice cake. A slice is enormous since it is cut from an extra tall cake studded with crushed walnuts and a cream cheese like not too sweet frosting. At $14 it could feed 4 people. Service is fine. They take your order and run with it. Bit of tunnel vision where it may be a bit hard to flag them down. But the job does get done. Overall 3+ stars
