This review has to do that on Jan third, around 12:40 p.m. (lunch time), several coworkers and self came to this location and the first thing we all hear, besides the regular huddle and bustle of the lunch crowd, is this Cashier (another Cashier helped my party) yelling and cursing to a guy that was asking for directions. Regardless of the issue, there shouldn't be any reason for one your employees to yell and curse with absolute disregard to anyone else in the establishment, including children. On my first visit, it was OK, I got the mac and cheese and a sandwich and it felt kind of so-so, portion-wise. I did like the pickle bar, with capers, roasted garlic (yum), sweet and dill pickles, and some other stuff like breadsticks. I've passed by this restaurant many times but decided to stop in for dinner as I wanted something healthy but didn't want to deal with crowds with it being a Sunday. When I arrived, there were a few people in line looking at the menu board. I decided on the black & bleu salad. It had tenderloin steak, mixed greens, Gorgonzola cheese, pecans, grape tomatoes, red onions and blue cheese dressing. The salad came in this huge red bowl. It was an amazing salad. The dressing comes pre mixed in the salad already and it was a bit more dressing than I would've used. I also ordered the lobster and crab bisque. You can find this location of Newk's Eatery at 1181 Hammond Drive, Suite 1000, GA 30346 in the Perimeter Expo shopping center anchored by Best Buy. This is the shopping center just south of Perimeter Mall adjacent to I285 - Newk's is located in about the center of the two buildings. There's plenty of free parking in this very busy shopping center and a MARTA station (Dunwoody Station) is conveniently located between it and the mall. The interior of this location of Newk's features both internal and external seating via a small patio with three tables covered by read umbrellas - there's not much of a view from the patio as it faces the front and parking. The interior is larger than it appears at first glance with the line forming up to the right to a counter that wraps around the food assembly. Newk's is a fast casual restaurant so you order at the counter. After ordering you can watch your salad being made or just have a seat with your order number - on my first occasion eating there (shortly after the restaurant first opened its doors to the public) the food delivery was slow, however this has improved the second time with the same very hectic and busy lunch crowd. The menu features Specialty Toasted Sandwiches, Fresh Tossed Salads, Artisan Pizzas, Pairings, Mac & Cheese, Little Newk's Favorites (kid's menu), Soups, Desserts and Beverages. I believe the restaurant is designed to compete with the likes of Panara Bread or the local Atlanta Bread Company. I have yet to try the pizzas, electing instead to have a turkey sandwich and side salad. Sid had a veggie sandwich and a side of beans. I thought my sandwich was good but nothing special - I don't believe Sid liked his selection at all. Newk's provides a table where you can get some free add-ons to your meal, including croutons, cheeses and pickles (I liberally applied the hot peppers). The restaurant is relatively clean but very busy during lunch so the tables aren't the tidiest - the staff seemed overwhelmed a bit but very friendly. As an initial comparison, Newk's Eatery can be most closely compared to Panera Bread. The interior is similar in the more open eating space, with an initial space to place your order. The menu is prominently located on the wall to the right when you enter the restaurant. Service is polite and patient and clearly explained the various sandwich, salad, and side offerings. We opted to go with the steak sandwiches and were left to wait as our food was prepared. In the middle of the restaurant, there is a 'side station' I want to call it. You can go and pick up bread-sticks, jalapeños, pickles, crackers, and sauces as you please. The food came out exceptionally quickly and remained warm once we arrived home, approximately ten minutes away. The bread is the best part of the sandwich and was very soft, honestly I am craving the bread alone considering how good it was. The meat is good as well, a little rough but that is expected. Overall, as an additional option in the Perimeter area it's nice to have and I would recommend this location. read more

Today in celebration of a national Administrative Assistant Day my boss ordered lunch from Newk's. This is my third time eating Newk's. Their food is great.. fresh, appealing to the eye and plentiful. Our order was first attempted via the mobile app. This was a challenge because every possible customization is not on the app. For example, one of the orders was for a Cobb Salad with spinach.. well spinach is not an option to customize this salad. The order was placed via phone.. the staff was professional and friendly. Payment was made via phone and a coworker picked up the order in the 15 minute window without any issues. The restaurant is nicely decorated and organized. There's an area for waiting for take out orders and another area where you order and get seated to dine in. Parking is plentiful. This is located across from Perimeter Mall. If you haven't been.. I'd recommend you do. My only reason for not giving five stars is because there's not a lot of options for vegans.. unless you ask for a bare salad. Still a good experience. read more

This review is to commend the manager Kendall who managed to take a very poor 3PD experience with UberEats to an amazing experience. We placed an order for delivery at 11:36. I received an email saying it was going to be delivered by 12:25. I was tracking the order and noticed it had been picked up at 12:05. As I was continuing to watch the order the time for it to be delivered continued to go up and up until it said it was supposed to be delivered at 1:45, which is almost 2 hours after it was picked up. I had no way to reach out to UberEats so I reached out to the store, and both the cashier who answered the phone and wanted to help and the manager were helpful. I spoke for a while to Kendall the manager (please forgive me if this is the wrong name) and he listened with empathy to me about my issue. I offered to pick up the order instead and he remade the entire order and comped it as well. Then on top of this, he called me back to give me details about how it was ready and how the cashier would know exactly where it was when we picked it up. This is literally a text book example of how someone can take a bad experience and completely turn it around. I chose the Turkey Avocado sandwich and the corn & crab chowder. I upgraded the cup of soup to a bowl for an extra $3. My husband ordered the ultimate salad so we could share our meals. He got it with caesar dressing instead of the usual honey mustard. They have a condiments table with oil, vinegar, Parmesan cheese, roasted garlic, pickles, etc. they have packs of thing breadsticks. It's a fun little appetizer while waiting for the food to come. The sandwich could have used a bit more flavor or sauce. I used some of the Caesar dressing and it actually went pretty well together. The soup was delicious on a cold winter night and salad was solid. We had to say no to the cakes tonight but will definitely have to come back to try them! They look delicious! read more
