I've been to Niko Niko @ Cerritos Towne Center a couple times. They have a few good deals on there lunch specials, whether it's dining in or a to go order. Good news is some lunch specials come with a free soda. Today my order was simple. A teriyaki beef plate which came with a side salad, rice and mini vegetable skewer. I also ordered a 6 piece Cali roll, which was good but rice was a little mushy. My Fiance ordered the 3 item combination plate. He chose the spicy tuna cut roll, 4 piece fried oyster and teriyaki salmon. His items also came with small side of cucumber salad, white rice and miso soup. The service was good. The waiters were tentative to our needs the entire time so no complaints here. Overall, the food is Good and the prices were ok. Had we ordered more from the sushi bar, our bill would have been alot more then $24.00. Just an FYI..Most of there rolls are $10.00..a little on the pricey side. I had lunch here with a friend and since they offer a buy one get one half off for their sushi rolls I took that offer. I ordered the dynamite roll and spicy tuna roll. The dynamite roll was almost inedible. Rice was hard and dry, sauce was disgusting. Spicy tuna roll was better but still hard dry rice. I don't recommend this place for sushi. My friend had a bento box with beef teriyaki, no sushi. read more

I've always been a fan of Niko Niko Sushi, they have the most delicious rolls you can think of. I mean just take a look at the beautiful Garlic Albacore Roll pic I posted, simply beautiful. I came here with my fiance and 2 of our friends for dinner one night. The sushi was fresh and service was friendly. Wait time for food wasn't too long. Food was tasty. Ordered Fuji and Aloha roll. Fish was not very flavorful in either. The Fuji roll had a sweet, vinegar like taste to it that I didn't expect and wasn't too fond of. The rolls were big, I can eat a lot of sushi and wasn't able to eat both rolls solo. The price gives this place three stars, with buy one get one 50% off, otherwise I'd give it two. I'm a huge fan of Niko Niko...the first one that I went to was the one in La Habra. I like the easy to order picture menu...makes it much easier to order something. They have so many rolls, and all very yummy. I don't think I've ever had a bad one before. The one in La Habra is great...sometimes you have to wait in a line during peak hours. Then I found out they opened one in Cerritos, I was so happy because its right by my house. It's brand new, they turned the old Burger King into Niko Niko. It's very modern and cute. Small and perfect. The service is good, except for this one time we had a waitress that was very wierd. We ordered a roll (I forget which one) but then when she gave us the roll, she put it down on our table and said, "I don't think this one is very good, let me know what you think." I just thought maybe she should have mentioned that before we ordered it. What a crappy waitress, putting a damper on our lovely meal. Get the super crunch roll, the dynamite, hungry roll...all are good. I've also been to the location in Costa Mesa and it's also a small nice place. Tastes the same. But I think taste wise, the one in La Habra is better. read more

The food is okay, I almost gave a three star rating, but the sushi blossom appetizer brought it up to four stars. A great sushi place in the local surrounding! The ambiance of this sushi place is modern... which I love. It even has a good intimate feel to it. The customer service is quick and courteous. Their menu is full of different types of unique rolls. They also have a good options for sushi or sashimi combos. Why the 4 stars? Well, even though they have a good selection of different rolls, they have always made the rolls too big. Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know, "wouldn't that be a good thing?". But not for sushi! When the rolls are made too big, then it loses its balance. I have been to authentic Japanese sushi houses, and they have that right balance of the amount of rice used and the filling. But, that is the only negative thing that I could think of. Make the sushi rolls a little smaller and charge less for them. Go to Restaurant.com if you want a a discount for this place. I bought a $25.00 gift certificate for a measly $2.00. For it to be validated by Niko Niko Sushi, all you have to do is purchase $35.00 worth of food and Dine there. After, 3 rolls, a bottle of Sake, tax and tip, my tab came out to $26.00. Score! Pros: SIZE - The rolls are bigger than you would find at your standard sushi Joint. MENU - It is extensive with something for everyone. Additionally, all the rolls have accompanying photographs on the menu. Cons: PRICE - Honestly, I wouldn't come back here if I didn't have a gift certificate. Yes, the size makes up for it, but not enough. If you are a "Quantity over Quality" kind of person, then disregard this portion of my review. TOO MUCH SAUCE - I ordered 3 different rolls and each one was drenched in the same orange sauce. My mistake for ordering similar rolls, I suppose. But even if I had ordered just one of these rolls, the sauce (while okay but maybe a bit sweet for me) was used excessively. The rolls I tried were the tnt, volcano and dynamite. The VOLCANO was BEST IN TERMS OF FLAVOR but structurally, it didn't hold up. I'd have to agree with everyone else here; The TNT was MY FAVORITE ROLL - probably because of the tempura shrimp and it had the least amount of orange sauce on it. The Dynamite Roll was just "so-so." While I don't think this place has potential for a 4 or 5 star rating, I think, so long as you choose wisely from the menu, ask them to take it easy on the sauces and grab a restaurant.com certificate, you'll be more than content with a meal here. Taking my own advice, I'll return and give-it-a-go once more. Perhaps, I'll add a 3rd star if I feel "my approach" changes my overall impression of my meal. read more

As an individual that has traveled in Japan and Korea trying authentic cuisines, you can taste a hybrid form of both which is delicious. The portions are huge. I ordered the miso ramen. The ramen isn't authentic Japanese ramen but if you forget about that it's still quite tasty. My hubby ordered the udon and katsu special which was huge.
