Worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. The food was below average, with the homemade ham envoltini dish (one of their signature dishes) being simply not eatable. The most disappointing part of the night was not the food however. Rather it came in seeing the bill for the night. I was with a large group so they had told us they would be serving us family style, which amounted to less than a normal plate for everyone and yet amassed a bill of $40 per person. The wait staff was extremely rude and the total bill was criminal. I will never be eating food from this restaurant again. read more

My ravioli was very al dente and cooked unevenly. The lasagna was very soggy. The salad was not good- very dry leaves with balsamic dressing that was thick and extremely tangy, didn't coat the leaves properly, too heavy. The best part of this place is the ambiance. The food is incredible. Very tasty and authentic. Tiny little room. We got there at 5:20 and stood in line to get in. We sat in a tiny table in the corner and ordered great food. I brought a DOCG super Tuscan and it paired great with the food. Bring your own glasses to avoid a $3 glass charge. We had pasta with panceta and meat filled dumpling pasta. My wife and I absolutely love this place. It is true homemade Italian food. The focaccia is so good and works great to mop up the last bits of sauce from your plate. The tagliata is my favorite entree, thinly sliced seared beef with truffle oil and shaved parmesan. Also a big fan of the gnocchi, so soft and perfect. This isn't a restaurant where you are in and out in 20 minutes, it is true Italian dining. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy the meal! read more

My $22 lasagna last night tasted like it was made of meat straight out of a dog food can. The waitress actually said "we have to make our money somewhere!" with a smirk when she offered wine glasses for our byob wine. Not impressed at all. Nonna is a Fort Worth original, a small hole in the wall joint; nevertheless, with much to offer. Although the long lines may suggest a "must go" restaurant, not to be a downer, but there is not much to wait on here. The food is great, dont get me wrong... but the service is spotty, they only take cash. but hey, it is byob. the tiramisu is excellent, the salads are fresh, the pasta is gentle. the small dining areas are inviting. all in all it is a fun neighbor restaurant, just nothing to wait for. read more

Up until recently, you could bring a card table and chairs and sit outside and they would serve you. Now, they have their own outdoor eating area. Bring your own wine and GLASSES. A girlfriend and I both ordered the carbonara, and being married to an Italian and having had lots of authentic carbonara in Rome - I was quite disappointed. Service was slow and impersonal. Y'all. I want to work here to learn how to cook like this. The tiny dining room that has a window to the kitchen, the decor and atmosphere made us feel like we were back in Italy. Then the FOOD. It is as simple and delicious and authentic as it gets. We started with the flavorful, fresh bruchetta. When our salad came topped with fresh corn, we knew this was the real deal and could not wait for the pasta. I ordered the carbonara. It was beautiful, cooked simply, and tasted exactly as it should, perfect. It was not drowning in cream so leftovers would have held up well if there were any. Normal people would have leftovers, it was a generous serving but I was nostalgic for Italy and ate my way through it. I was miserably full but happy. My husband ordered the lasagna verde off the specials menu and it was so good it nearly brought a tear to his eye, which he held off until dessert. When we found out they make their Panna cotta in house, we had to try it. It was fabulous! Again, no leftovers. Some tidbits... they don't take reservations. On a Friday, our wait was 40 minutes. We walked to the wine bar a few blocks down and had a couple flights of red until we received a text that our table was ready. We bought a bottle to take with us since Nonna Tata is byob, which is awesome. It is also cash only. The service was flawless. The busy staff work so hard but genuinely seem to enjoy working there. The flavors of every dish are perfectly balanced, meats and pastas are cooked to perfection, sauces are insanely good. Soups are unique but yet feel like 'comfort food' at same time. Try the cheesecake here, you will not regret it! Also, I come here for late night snacking after the bars are closed. The late night menu is pretty limited but the food is decent and range from banh mi to chicken and waffles and such; I mainly get dessert though. Great little place that makes homemade pasta! When I say the place is little, I mean little. They only have about 5-6 small tables inside but can accommodate more if weather is nice with patio seating. As stated before on previous posts the building is rustic but the atmosphere and food remind me of my travels in Italy. I can certainly see this being in a small, countryside town where locals would cook food as if they were cooking for family. There are very few places where you can order handmade pappardelle and this is one. The food is delicious and the low key ambience makes it a home run. read more

Best Italian food in the DFW Metroplex! I went with my dad on a Friday night and it was great! The restaurant has 5 tables inside and around 7 tables outside. We got there around 8 and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. If not going a little later for dinner, I would suggest going right when they open. Also you can bring your own wine and glasses. The atmosphere is great. Little authentic place, noisy, and everyone their is having a great time! We ordered the calamari which was delicious. We were expecting fried calamari but it was calamari with pesto sauce and cherry tomatoes. I'm glad it was that and not fried. The salad with arugula and the raspberry chipotle sauce was also yummy. I usually don't eat salad but I had some of this. For my entree I got the pansotti with a walnut sauce. It was my first time to have pansotti and it was very good. My dad got a house special which was also amazing! A downside for going later for dinner is that they were out of a majority of the desserts. For the both of us it was about $60 which is a reasonable price for the quality of the food. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant! read more

Everything I've ever gotten here has been amazing. I love the specials... last week it was the eggplant-ricotta ravioli with pistachio butter, earlier this summer it was some other delicious kind of ravioli with cashew sauce. The limone e spinaci (lemon and spinach) pasta with homemade paparadelle (worth the $5 extra) is divine every time. Their focaccia bread that comes with every meal is amazing. The dishes are slightly pricy, but it's one of those places where you take your first bite and then are forced to close your eyes and go "mmmm"... so yeah, it's worth it. Plus you save money on the BYOB wine. This might be the best Italian I've ever had (including in Italy). read more

I had an overall great experience! I stopped in with my mom & sister for a late lunch & we had no wait at all. Favorites from what we ate were the pumpkin soup (not too strong of pumpkin but creamy & wonderful), the bruschetta, and the special today which was a creamy tomato sauce with penne. This is the 2nd time to visit and the food is outstanding. We shared four different dishes + appetizers and thoroughly enjoyed each one. BYOB, they charge $3 for glasses but you may bring your own at no charge. Inside seating is a little uncomfortable with benches at small tables. There is outside seating available. My favorite is the Infantali-homemade pasta with ham and bechamel. We also ordered the calamari appetizer and it is the calamari steaks sauteed in butter, garlic and parsley, delicious.
