I was really excited to try this place: it's got teriyaki (which my boyfriend loves), sushi (which I have recently begun loving) and is within walking distance (which everyone loves). I had a chance to try it last week, and my experience was limited... ...because they were out of salmon nigiri. Yeah, seriously. I was so disappointed. On the other hand, thier tuna was pretty good and my friend really liked her...erm...California roles. My boyfriend loved his teriyaki - and he rarely *loves* most teriyaki - and the service was fast and friendly. Their prices? Average. I guess it was worth the money to eat at Nori Presto, but they won't be the first place I think of when I've got a hankering for sushi. EDIT: Okay, now I can say that I've had their teriyaki, as well as the salmon nigiri, and am adding another "star" to this review. Their meat is definitely fresh, and of high quality - unlike a few other places I've tried - and you get free miso soup if you dine in. Yum! Finally tried out Nori for dinner a few days ago and found myself pleased with the outcome. I ordered their special orange and teriyaki chicken with brown rice. It was delicious and was enough for two meals! Watch out for the extra charges though, they will add on 50 cents for extra salad dressing or teriyaki sauce and an extra dollar for brown rice. I ordered to go, but did see their free miso soup. I look forward to trying it the next time! read more

YUMMM Best Teriyaki I've had in a long time!!! I have been trying to find a good Teriyaki place since I moved to Seattle, and this place wins by far. I've ate at alot of Teriyaki joints around this area, but none compare to this place. My boyfriend hadn't ate Teriyaki for years, and I got him to try the Teriyaki chicken here and he loved it! I also like the variety. They offer the Bento Box which is nice if you like sushi as much ad I do. Their selection of sushi is nice for reasonable pricing. The portions are really big which is great, more for your dollar, And always give you extra sauce which I always like. They have more options than just your typical teriyaki and always have a list of daily specials. I have been back several times already and we will be back much more. This is probably one of my favorite teriyaki joints in Seattle. It's very clean and very, although it takes a while for them to make your food I recommend calling in for takeout, otherwise their food is really good. I usually get a small bento with beef teriyaki and replace the salad with rice. You can really taste the flavor in the thin beef teriyaki than the chicken and their California rolls are also delicious. I was really excited to go to this location since I've recently moved to the Northgate area and I've been to the Nori Presto in Renton with great experiences. However I must say I was extremely disappointed. Tonight I finally went with my boyfriend during the dinner rush after 5pm, there were several people seated and people in line to order. I told this is a good sign, a sign however that would soon disappeared. I ordered the large bento box, which I've gotten at other locations, but this location seemed to only offer it with teriyaki and when I asked to switch it for orange chicken, the price seemed to increase. I'm not entirely sure but my food was more expensive than I expected. Then after we ordered and took a seat, and then began our wait..... The food took close to 25 minutes to come out. Yes the place was busy, but it seemed the order for people getting their food was not the same as that of those who ordered, and the phone ran nonstop for to orders and there were not enough people in the kitchen working. Then when the food arrived, my disappointment only continued. The orange chicken was not like I had gotten it at the other location, it was missing the little Mandarin oranges. It tasted ok but not great, however it was lukewarm almost COLD! And so was the tempera shrimp, which was the whole reason I ordered the larger bento box, it cost an extra $3 and it only came with 3 tempera shrimp and no veggies. I did not complain because my boyfriend was already upset about the wait and I did not want to upset him more. His food was ok, he got the pork teriyaki, and his only complaint was it did not come with enough sauce. Anyhow, sadly to say I will not be returning to this location. I will wait till I am in Renton to enjoy my orange chicken bento box again. read more

Everyone here is so incredibly nice, and the amount of food you get for your money is incredible. The food is good, and there's free miso soup while you wait (Taking it with you costs extra). I'd suggest the bento boxes for a little of everything. They are more than happy to substitute tofu - though i have also had both the beef and chicken, which were delightful - but it is an upcharge. Their fried tofu is amazing, though. It seems like you get more food when you dine in, and there are lots of tables in the front and back. I usually come in, order, then sit and have some soup while I wait. If I ever want teriyaki, this is where I go for sure. read more

I love this place. I order from here at least once a week. It's a little pricey, but you get a lot of food. I can usually make at least 2 meals out of it. I love the free miso soup. The tofu teriyaki is my favorite, HUGE portion of tofu steaks. So simple, but so good. The owners are very nice. My one complaint would be that they don't take substitutions very well. They seem to get confused with those types of requests. Or they end up charging you for two separate meals, because they won't just sub one item for another. read more

Great value! The small bento is plenty for one person and I was pretty full afterwards. The large bento is good enough for 2 people if u arnt that hungry. The single dishes are a little on the pricier side when compared to other teriyaki joints but once again these are larger portions. As for taste and quality of food, it taste pretty standard. Let's be clear that this is a teriyaki joint that also happens to do sushi and not a sushi joint that also makes teriyaki. I always place my orders over the phone and then pick them up to go. They have yet to mess up an order and often times I'm ordering for my coworkers as well so they're handling the phones properly. That is the reason for 4 stars over 3 stars. The woman who answers the phones and works the counter is always pleasant and all smiles. I usually order chicken breast meat if I'm getting teriyaki and it's better than the normal chicken meat. A few times it's been a little dry but that's an inherent risk with teriyaki. You pay more for the spicy chicken teriyaki... so order the regular and drown that chicken jerkface in Sriracha and get the same effect for less. Chicken jerkface! Their fried rice is pretty blah but it does the trick... and really with enough Sriracha who cares how good the rice is... I just made it a tasty fireball of yum. Their sushi is inconsistent but not how you would think I mean. Sometimes there is tobiko in the roll, sometimes there's tobiko on the sushi roll while other times there isn't. You never know how it will come prepared. It's like waiting for the tooth fairy and not knowing if you're getting a nickel or a quarter... or a vicious monster who is going to eat your face. Pricing here is right on par with all the other teriyaki joints in town and it's worth every peso. Nori Presto is just a good simple teriyaki joint that makes a few easy sushi rolls on the side. It works for a quick fix and a quick lunch but don't expect to be amazed by the food. I'm a fan. read more

Owned by Koreans and does incorporate the Korean taste into their cooking. The amount provided is more than enough and could feed a person twice (depending on how much you eat). Review of nori teriyaki: Nori? More like NO-RETURN. Walking in, I am greeted by a middle-aged lady who clearly would rather be scooping her dog's waste than running a restaurant. That fake smile almost snarling through a dark frown is usually a dead giveaway. Maybe she's concentrating on something? Maybe she's having a bad day? Who knows. I order my food and try to find a decently clean table that's been recently wiped... None found, I just sit at the corner of the least filthy table. Good thing I ordered takeout... Looking around the general disorganization around the FOH, I begin to wonder just how messy is the BOH? Shutter. Food's ready! Skeptical, I open my box and take a nibble... Decent salad. Teriyaki Chicken: chewy and salty. How old is this chicken? Orange Chicken: flavorless, dull, soggy, chewy. QA Bueller?? I couldn't get through even half of the $10 meal without deciding I need to ask for my money back. I take the unfinished slop to the cashier and tell her straight up, "this chicken is salty and chewy; the other chicken is flavorless." She replies "So what do you want?" with contempt. I am a bit flabbergasted, yet not entirely surprised. "At the very least we can split the cost because I am returning more than half the food." I think that's more than generous on my part. She huffs and huffs and pretends to not understand. After repeating myself five times she's hands me five back and retorts "this is how our food is." I wish her good luck and gtfo. Pardon my French. How did this place get four stars??? Talk about self righteous. It sure is odd to me when a restaurant-owner takes pride in their food but is shocked when I explain specifically what's wrong with it. G. Ramsay, here's a kitchen nightmare for you. If you're looking for salty, chewy, flavorless chicken with somewhat dingy atmosphere and bitter service, boy have you hit the jackpot!!
