On Saturday, November 29, 2025, I placed an online order from Norms, and unfortunately this has become a pattern with my recent visits. Lately, every time I pick up food from this location, it has been cold, greasy, and just poorly prepared. Even the Pepsi bottles have been warm multiple times. Yesterday I ordered the mini dogs, and they didn't include the sauce that normally comes with it. The fries were cold, the Pepsi was warm again, and the burger patty did not taste fresh at all. Overall the meal was disappointing. I've gone to Norms for many years, and I even have family members who worked there when I was a kid. The quality has dropped badly. Customer service is not the same either--you see employees standing around talking while customers wait. The welcoming atmosphere that Norms used to have is gone. Before, they would greet you, seat you right away, and even online pickup orders were handled with care. Now employees look like they don't want to be there. What happened to Norms? I hope they bring back the quality and service that made them great for so many years. read more

Been comming to Norms for years. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. This is one of the best places to grab a good meal at a reasonable price. I can spend less than going to a fast food joint for the family and enjoy a nice sit down meal. Kristina at the Van Nuys location is a gem. She has been working there as long as I can remember and she is always serving with a smile. She is a kind hearted person that makes you feel like family. It all started with our gracious hostess (her middle name was Grace) who gave us a warm welcome and handed us over to "best server ever" Kristina who kindly informed us of new offerings on the menu, from where we ordered the new, tasty, and sumptuous Chicken Parmigiana and old time favorite Liver & Onions (so glad you brought this one back!); but we started with bowls of zesty gumbo. Well, the Norm's experience is/was not complete without a dessert. Our choice: Ice cream schooner, custom-prepared to our wishes by lovely Kristina, along with two cups of coffee (regular and decaf). We were really happy with the quality of the food, service and price; and looking around at the full restaurant, we were not the only ones enjoying a good time. I visited NORMS on October 12, 2024, so pretty recently. I enjoyed dining here! I walked in and made a reservation for 2, a friend was with me. It was packed so I thought the wait times would be long (calling out IHOP) but it took about 10 minutes to get a table! Fast seating service. It was like 9:30 a.m. when we dined. The dining room felt nice, comfortable, and amazing. Great decorations to me! They gave us a lot of menus so I got confused for a bit but I figured it out. We had an amazing waitress! I did not get her name though, but she was an older waitress and funny! I ordered a coffee, a water, and got the Sirloin Stake Bigger Better Breakfast with hashbrowns. The steak was cooked perfectly, I ordered it Well Done. I have one issue with my food however, the eggs were requested OVER EASY, but they didn't come over easy. My friend also ordered over easy and they weren't over easy either. Other than that, the food was amazing! Might be dining there again, not sure yet. Come give it a try! Can't believe this is our first time coming to Norms. They are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. Well that's speaks volume... once we walked in, it felt like retro movie, that awesome diner atmosphere when you know you are getting great old fashioned hearty food, is unbeatable. Service was amazing . Our server Kristina was super. So friendly, sweet and just beautiful. That lady made our experience at norms just wonderful, honestly besides the good food she will be my other reason to come back here. Ambience was casual, light and positive. Food lives up to its hype, those bone in chicken wings were soooo good, we got the garlic Parmesan one, but for sure need to go back for lemon pepper ones as well :) Big plus, they are open 24 hours and you can have pancakes at any given time. Food was priced fairly and was good overall experience for the first time being there. The cotton candy lemonade had an interesting taste to it in a good way. The ambiance is nice cozy feel with customers around similar to Denny's. Parking is available in the back of the diner and also a few spaces on the street in front of the diner. My only issues were the restroom cleanliness at the time didn't look to be clean. As well as the service it was fair for the amount of people that were there, but it felt like the server was rushing us to leave giving us the bill even though we planned to order dessert. We ordered the fish and chips and they were crispy and hot. We ordered the eggs Benedict, which were good with big pieces of ham. We also ordered the value meal which comes with a drink,half a sandwich ( i got the BLT, which was delicious with plenty of bacon) and also I got the gumbo soup and the Caesar salad. Our server was Kristina with a K and she was super sweet and personable. She took care of us like we were family and got our orders perfectly. It's like they suddenly forget how to do their jobs when no one's watching them. I received ice cold food from this location and I live 3 minutes away!! I love Norms! Their food is delicious! My personal favorite is the potato leek soup! Sadly it's only served on Wednesdays. I wish they had it every day!
