Norms Classic Cheeseburger (Value Combo)

Norms is a late night diner staple. Open 24/7, it's always busy but they always have room for everyone who walks through their doors. Mornings and holidays are when it's most packed. The employees hustle and bustle to get the food out in a timely manner. You never have to worry about waiting for the check as it's always dropped off at your table for you to pay at the front counter whenever you're ready. The menu is your standard diner fare, with breakfast being the most filling. They have lots of booths and tables for every configuration if you're coming with a group. The interior is as clean as could be, and the restrooms require codes to access. Overall Norms is pretty aces when it comes to diners. It's a good place to unwind and catch up, have a family meal, grab a quick bite with friends, share a milkshake with your sweetie, or have a nice cup of Joe (their Colombian coffee is strong!). Norms is not high class, but it's dependably decent any day and any time.

Can't say enough good things about this place. The food is always delicious. Portions are huge. I can come here anytime and enjoy trying out all their delicious foods. Service was great. We love it. It was so fast so very ideal if you were hungry. Lastly I noticed the updated retro decor of the entire interior space of the restaurant. I love the feeling and nostalgia it is trying to impart to its customers. We will definitely come here more often.

2026/02/07 update: Today was a good day to come here for lunch, I was expecting the wait to be long but when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see no wait, I got seated immediately. My friend treated me to lunch here for my birthday. Their menu changed from 2 months ago. I was kinda looking forward to a T-bone steak trio but they changed it to a NY Steak Trio. It was good and filling, but I still prefer the T-bone steak trio. The service was friendly and professional and attentive. They checked in with us a couple of times to see if we need anything.

Norms, this ain't it. Pickup was super smooth, . I grabbed a full slab of ribs and some meatloaf to go. But I got home and checked the containers. The coleslaw was literally empty. Like, did someone snack on it in the kitchen or just forget to scoop it? Respectfully, that is krazy and so off-putting. The whole vibe was just a mess, fr. 1 star.

Norms will forever feel like home to me. I've been coming to this location for as long as I can remember. I especially love the feel & look inside during the holiday season. It could get busy during lunch or dinner hours but usually won't wait over 30 minutes. My parents eat there weekly. Recently I joined them on one of their lunch dates. Got a big & delicious breakfast. Food was good, service was good. Food came out pretty quick also.

This place was very popular on a Sunday afternoon assuming it was a church rush but we got sat (our party of 4) within 15 minutes which was very impressive. They really know how to provide quick and quality service and turn the tables around fast. I ordered the "Classic breakfast" which included two eggs of choice (I got over medium), hash browns, choice of bacon or sausage (I got bacon) and choice of toast or pancakes (I got pancakes). I also ordered the "Jamaica," agua Fresca and it was so refreshing. Our servers name was "Dolly" and she was very kind and helpful to us. The restaurant maintained a clean environment. I would def come back here again and try other menu items. I highly recommend this place if you want good diner food at a great price as well. Our check was about $60 and (4) people ate!

4.5 Stars It was our first time at this location! I've been to the one in West Hollywood a couple of times, and while that one has a roomier entrance and easier parking layout, this spot still had plenty of charm. The parking area here felt a bit more congested, especially getting in, but once inside the experience made up for it. We went on a Friday night, so there was a bit of a wait. I was told 15-20 minutes but was pleasantly surprised--it ended up being only about 8 minutes. The host was friendly and welcoming. Our family of three was seated in a cozy booth, and I really liked how the layout creates smaller, more intimate sections--it gives it that classic, old-school diner feel. Our server, Ms Kristina was amazing (just like so many other reviews have said). She was warm, engaging, and attentive without being overbearing. Great customer service--she checked in on us several times throughout the meal. The food came out hot and fresh. The onion rings were a bit crispier than I prefer, but everything else was on point. The fried fish was basic but perfectly cooked--light, golden, and crispy. I added some freshly chopped onions and pickles to give it a little extra flavor, and it was perfect. It's definitely a nostalgic, old-school spot with a relaxed, friendly vibe. The floors had a few crumbs when we first walked in, but I noticed a staff member sweeping not long after we were seated, which was appreciated. Overall, great food, great service, and that classic diner comfort I love. We'll definitely be back!

Norms is great, and the service is greater! Our waiter Pedro was on point. Diner was COMPLETELY full with a wait too and he came to check on us, refill coffee/water, and even after the check he kept the service up!! GO PEDRO!!! It's what you can expect from a diner breakfast, but the Buffalo chicken skillet was surprisingly good!! There was crispy chicken as promised and it was very flavorful. French toast was honestly a little disappointing, but the pancakes were great :)

Definitely got old school diner vibes here lol Our waitress was great and friendly. We were really craving milkshakes and they didn't disappoint. Made with real icecream they were top notch! Too bad they don't have a cookies and cream flavor. We shared a combo dish that had ribs and buffalo wings. Weird mix but it worked out since we were craving different things. The prices are outrageously affordable and it seems it doesn't compromise the quality of food.

It's super hard to find an inexpensive place to eat that has decent food. Love going to Norms. What stuck out to me about this location is the service. Aynne was our server today, and she was so capable, kind and helpful. She told us she's worked here for 33 years. She knows her stuff. Shes one of the best servers we've ever had.We felt like we came in as diners and left as friends.

I love this place. It's worth a trip from Santa Clarita to Vannuys just for the fine friendly service of Waitress Kristina and the excellent steak dinners for a reasonable price. I visited NORMS on October 12, 2024, so pretty recently. I enjoyed dining here! I walked in and made a reservation for 2, a friend was with me. It was packed so I thought the wait times would be long (calling out IHOP) but it took about 10 minutes to get a table! Fast seating service. It was like 9:30 a.m. when we dined. The dining room felt nice, comfortable, and amazing. Great decorations to me! They gave us a lot of menus so I got confused for a bit but I figured it out. We had an amazing waitress! I did not get her name though, but she was an older waitress and funny! I ordered a coffee, a water, and got the Sirloin Stake Bigger Better Breakfast with hashbrowns. The steak was cooked perfectly, I ordered it Well Done. I have one issue with my food however, the eggs were requested OVER EASY, but they didn't come over easy. My friend also ordered over easy and they weren't over easy either. Other than that, the food was amazing! Might be dining there again, not sure yet. Come give it a try! The food is always delicious, I got the open face turkey, it was perfect. Their menu is very large so there is always something for everyone. Even when they are slammed with two hour waits and the servers are running around at full steam, they are still so friendly and polite and fun. Can't believe this is our first time coming to Norms. They are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. Well that's speaks volume... once we walked in, it felt like retro movie, that awesome diner atmosphere when you know you are getting great old fashioned hearty food, is unbeatable. Service was amazing . Our server Kristina was super. So friendly, sweet and just beautiful. That lady made our experience at norms just wonderful, honestly besides the good food she will be my other reason to come back here. Ambience was casual, light and positive. Food lives up to its hype, those bone in chicken wings were soooo good, we got the garlic Parmesan one, but for sure need to go back for lemon pepper ones as well :) Big plus, they are open 24 hours and you can have pancakes at any given time. Food was priced fairly and was good overall experience for the first time being there. The cotton candy lemonade had an interesting taste to it in a good way. The ambiance is nice cozy feel with customers around similar to Denny's. Parking is available in the back of the diner and also a few spaces on the street in front of the diner. My only issues were the restroom cleanliness at the time didn't look to be clean. As well as the service it was fair for the amount of people that were there, but it felt like the server was rushing us to leave giving us the bill even though we planned to order dessert. Some of the servers were much more friendly. read more

Do NOT order take out from this Norms location. Your food will sit out and get cold before it's picked up and they WILL skimp you on your portions. It's like they suddenly forget how to do their jobs when no one's watching them. I received ice cold food from this location and I live 3 minutes away!! That being said, eating inside the restaurant is perfectly fine but man am I disappointed in your Norms. Do better!! read more

I love Norms! Their food is delicious! My personal favorite is the potato leek soup! Sadly it's only served on Wednesdays. I wish they had it every day! We especially enjoy going to the Van Nuys location because Kristina, our favorite waitress, always provides outstanding service! She's friendly and sweet. My family and I enjoy dining at Norms Sunday afternoons, we are just leaving right now and our service was bad. The food arrived 1-2 plates at a time, and my dad never received his burger. He purposefully ordered a burger and pancakes together at once because a previous time he never received his pancakes (with the same server!!!). This time, his burger took a really long time while we all finished our meal he still hadn't gotten it. The restaurant wasn't even that busy for the food to have taken that long, if it was busy I would understand of course, but that wasn't the case here. I asked the server to simply cancel his order because my dad was already EXTREMELY upset because this was the second time this happened and with the same server, Tom. Next time we dine in we'll be asking for Kristina, she's given us EXCELLENT service! read more

We ordered the fish and chips and they were crispy and hot. We ordered the eggs Benedict, which were good with big pieces of ham. We also ordered the value meal which comes with a drink,half a sandwich ( i got the BLT, which was delicious with plenty of bacon) and also I got the gumbo soup and the Caesar salad. Our server was Kristina with a K and she was super sweet and personable. She took care of us like we were family and got our orders perfectly. As soon as we ordered, we quickly received our salads and soups and our drinks! The hostess was also nice when we walked in and made us feel welcome. They played big band type music as we enjoyed our food giving this diner a nostalgic feel. Overall I feel our experience here was great and I would come back when I am in the mood for a good soup and salad or a yummy breakfast. read more

Always a pleasure to stop here. Came after my baby's doctor's appointment and it was a great day to stop by. We were sat right away and our order was taken smoothly. Our drinks came out fast and the wait for the food was great. Our food was super tasty and the loaded hash browns are worth the upgrade. Our server Adriana was super attentive and took care of us. I ordered the steak n eggs breakfast thru Grub Hub this morning . Everything was made according to my specs, especially the steak being WELL done ! My order arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and the food was still warm upon my arrival. The only negative was that I did check off the silverware box and no silverware was in the bag. My best friend and I visited Norms on Sherman Way , Van Nuys. Kristina waited on us. She was fantastic, let us look at the menu at our own pace. Gave us plenty of time and took our order with care. She came by and told us they where running a little behind in the kitchen. While waiting she brought us complementary bowls of soup. Yet the order came quickly. Kristina was a pleasure to talk to. Staff was great. Probably do not eat this food. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. Staff is probably stretched thin. Food was burnt to a crisp. The place was packed. I'm still not sure why. No gluten free options available even though the menu was 5 pages long. read more

She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. Dessert banana pudding last time I was here the desserts were pretty good. This tasted like the yoplait whips yogurts consistency and like knock of Nila wafers I was just sooo utterly disappointed.

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).

For some reason, anytime I walk into a diner, they always come ready with an understaffed excuse. "Our head cook is not here" or "3 waiters didn't show up". It's getting old guys. Originally we came here for coffee, and some deserts. We walk in, not that many people. Half the place is closed off. Whatever, we wait to be seated. Can't say we waited LONG, but still longer than we should have. We got seated at a table that wasn't even clean yet. We got the "not enough waiters excuse" whatever, we were ok with it. The lady seemed nice, which is probably why they got 3 stars and not 2. So we order the food, some club sandwich and French toast, coffee for my buddy and hot chocolate for me. The hot chocolate and club sandwich where pretty good. The fries where soggy (to a point where I just ate one and then spit it into my napkin) and the French toast was stale... The food took a long time to come, by long I mean I saw it on the counter sitting for 3 minutes before it was brought over. Which probably explains the stale fries. Over all, gave them 3 stars, looks like norms is in the neighborhood and it's open late, so it'll stay at 3 stars until we visit again, and we will visit again. hopefully then they won't be "understaffed" read more

I went to get breakfast for first time to this place with my family to see the if they have different menu or different taste I am tired to been in dennys IHOP look like they have bad reviews but I am taking the time to write my experience in this place with my family first I wait to much to get table n them to get the food so I ordered new York steak but they have to 2 types off steak so I ordered the big one n went I got the small one so I ate that one because I didn't want to wait for the right order I know everyone make mistake so for this time I will say the food was ok but the potatoe look was not cook n off if was not like I was expecting but I will give them 3 stars because the pancakes was different taste than others places. Well let me start of by saying that i have been to this place more than a few times and the only thing i love about this place is their Gumbo soup and the fact that they have Pepsi. The cooks can never get anything right, no matter what i order, if i order an omelet or of i order a steak, and you think it's not that hard right. All the servers with the exception of two Nancy and Teresa are horrible if those two girls are not there i would rather not eat there. My first complaint is that when i order FRESH pancakes, they always pop them in the microwave... why? stop it... if i wanted microwaved pancakes i would go to Albertsons buy me a pack of frozen pancakes and just eat at home. Norma's Restaurant in Van Nuys is hands down one of the best spots for classic comfort food done right. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with friendly, attentive service that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Portions are generous, everything comes out hot and fresh, and the flavors are exactly what you hope for when you're craving a satisfying meal. Breakfast is a standout--perfectly cooked eggs, fluffy pancakes, crispy hash browns--but lunch and dinner are just as solid, with hearty dishes that never disappoint. What really sets Norma's apart is the consistency. No matter how busy it gets, the quality and service don't slip. It's the kind of place you can count on every time. This place is great at all times of the day, but I'm especially a fan of the fact that it is open 24 hours a day. I used to go there all the time when I was in college and have a great dinner at 3am after studying for so many hours. It's a classic diner that kind of reminds you of Dennys, except that the food is better than mediocre and really tasty. They have so many different types of food selections so you can never say they don't have something you would like to eat. The ambiance is casual and very family friendly. On the weekends they are always busy and you may have to wait a bit for a table but once you get seated, it's a very comfortable place to eat and relax. Although I'm not in college anymore I still come here to enjoy the food with my family and daughter and probably always will. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a kick back atmosphere with good food and great prices. read more

I just want to start of by saying that I have been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years now and for the first time ever there was a server who got my order right. Her name was Natalie. My mother is disabled and usually people ignore her there but Natalie made sure everything was right and that we were comfortable. My steak was really dry but she had it remade and made sure she smiled the whole time. I did have a complain about how many people were actually working and doing stuff. Most of them seemed to be lallygagging and just talking. Natalie and a couple of other serves were busy and moving but still. I also noticed that some of the waiters were shouting very loud. Overall I'm giving it a five star just because of Natalie. Hire more people like her and maybe this dump of a place will be better. Came here one night and it was packed but we were really hungry and IHOP was closed and Denny's just never does it for me. I was at a friend's house in NoHo when she suggested we should go out to eat. We drove around and she spotted Norm's. I had never been here but I was excited to try it out because I always love new finds. We walk in and there was a huge line but my friend insisted that we stay because their food is good. After waiting half an hour we got seated. Our waitress was Cherry- she was a cute woman who was very friendly that's why I'm giving them the extra star :) The food was good I can't remember what I ordered but their dessert was incredible. Hot fudge sundae yummy. Our total was a good amount pretty decent food an prices. Will come back and try a few other items. read more

Kristina is amazing! She's super friendly, full of "karisma", and always brings such a great attitude. She actually takes the time to have real conversations, which makes the whole experience feel more personal and welcoming. She truly brings a light to waitressing. The restaurant itself has great vibes--even during those busy, stressful times, the energy stays positive and the service never slips. That consistency really stands out. Honestly, Kristina reminds me of the kind of waitress you'd see on TV growing up--the one you could talk to and even walk away with a little advice or a smile. Norms is a fantastic place to go enjoy a meal and family time. My daughter goes there several times a month and brings us back food. I have been there several times and enjoy their hospitality, good food and prices. If I was to give the owner suggestions on how to please their customers more, I would ask the owner to consider expanding the inside, so that we can sit more comfortably. There's a bid parking lot of wasted space, while we sit uncomfortably inside. I am handicap and always go there with a big crowd. There are only two places the can put my wheel chair. Yes... Yes... I'll admit the place is very popular, gives lots of food at very reasonable prices, and their breakfasts can't be beat. BUT -- We went for dinner. It was extremely noisy and difficult to have a conversation. The caesar salad was chopped lettuce with a large glop of dressing piled on top. Ugh. The T-bone steak was ordered rare and served medium and sent back. Then served rare but was very chewy. Supposedly one of their specialties. Sliced tomatoes ordered, corn delivered. Manager apologized offered dessert on the house, brought a horrible concoction consisting of a spoonful of vanilla icecream atop a slice of either bread or tasteless cake -- awful. read more

usually this place is great. tonight I show up with two buddies and I spot the best waitress of all time. well she was on a bad one. looked like she had been up for days doing dope. the attitude she was putting out was effecting everyone around her. she took our order about 40 mins after we sat down. when we eventually got.our food it was cold.. I sent.mine back abd my two friends ate but complained the whole time about our waitress. she needs to sleep and get off the dope. if I never have to deal with her it will be ok with me. the experience was horrible and if it wasn't.for.going there for.decades I'd. be boycotting norms. We had a wonderful dining experience, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing waitress, Kristina. From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly kind, warm, and genuinely attentive. She made sure we were comfortable, checked in at all the right times without being intrusive, and made great recommendations with a smile. The food was also delicious -- everything came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But it was Kristina's exceptional service that truly made our evening special. A friend of mine took me here to norms a few months ago. I had not been here since I was a kid. When he suggested norms thought to myself, really? Norms. Thinking like most that had not eaten there, that there food is just very low quality. Well I was very surprised as you would be that the food was. Sooooo good for a family diner and the prices were extremely responsible. I used to go to corkys on van nuys blvd for years but stopped going because of all the turn over in staff and very low quality of their food like canned hash and frozen vegetables.. You really need to try norms, it's the bomb,,,,,, one of the best burgers in the velley read more

Every year my sister comes to visit from Minnesota. Our first stop after picking her up at LAX is Norm's Van Nuys. It's a family tradition between the two of us. When we got there, we were warmly greeted by Kristina, one of the servers. She was WONDERFUL and made our time there so fun and spectacular!!! She was so helpful in helping us decide what to get and kept my drink refills coming!! We stayed there 4 hours chatting and she made the whole day bright!! The food was tasty, Kristina's service was impeccabIe. I highly recommend Norm's Van Nuys for anyone looking for a restaurant to call home. I give them 5 stars!! read more

Giving 5 stars on the sole service. It's Norms, you're not getting gourmet food, but the service in this location is amazing. We went in to celebrate my son's culmination, and Kristina (our server) made our visit extremely pleasant. Her amazing attention to her customers and her exemplary attitude makes this location stand out; not to mention her amazing style. She makes her own jewelry made out of the Norms cups. We were blown away by her creativity. At the end of our dinner, Kristina handed our grad a nice little graduation gift. Go in for yourself and ask Kristina! You won't regret it. read more

The good news? It's steps away from my house. The bad news? It's steps away from my house. The food is what I imagine food is like in the penitentiary or jail. I've gotten various items at different times of day. It's just always either bad or barely tolerable. Speaking of crime, this is what you can expect to deal with in the parking lot as you go to and from your car; prostitutes servicing truckers/patrons, underage partiers drinking and smoking pot then throwing their empties over the fence into neighbors yards, drug dealing, homeless people. I love food and service are way better than Danny's but this place is too pack and noisy. I don't feel relax. If I like to eat at late night, I prefer to go to a place where I can enjoy food with calm environment so I can go to bed in good mood after eat. There are a lot of people who just got out of clubbing and come to this place for late meal and i hate when they yell and drop beer bottles everywhere in parking lot. So watch out when you park your car or walk, don't run over broken glass. read more
