If you're looking for top service with top Japanese food - this isn't really the place (or the price! Lol) for that, ozumo in SF or Santana Row is my suggestion. My roomies and I normally grab a table and our own orders with some rolls to share. It looks like a vietnamese family bought it - our room mate used to work here. Service reminds me of a Pho restaurant If that makes any sense to you. Cut & dry - menus on the table. Place order. Refill drinks. Pay for the tab. Which I'm fine with and is expected for that price range & I love going to Pho places (like Pho VN for you Union City peeps) Just for a comparison of service. We know what to expect and it's just fine. I got the dinner set 1/2 rice bowl 1/2 ramen. I got my miso soup and salad first - both good. My udon was a bit small and disappointing but wow the chirashi / sashimi bowl (1/2) was bigger so I feel like I won out on that. I chose to order from O'Sushi for me and my coworkers. I ordered 12 meals and ordered myself the #1 roll. I specifically put on the order the names of each person I am ordering for and put each order separate, but when I received my order, I couldn't find 3 of the boxes. After giving them a call, I found out that they put 2 orders of sushi in the same togo box which was a pretty big inconvenience since all of us were eating at different times and we had to find plates to separate the sushi. Regardless, the #1 Roll was fantastic. I was surprised to see real crab inside. The sauce on top looked like sriracha, but it was much better!! I'd order this roll again if I decide to come back. Ordered a Lion King from the place, and they must really think customers are idiots or something because on the Lion King, they literally just put SALMON SKIN and added roe and baked it and NO Salmon meat. It's ridiculous. When I went to look at pictures on yelp, the Lion King had meat in it. Not sure if this is a one off or what but this is seriously wrong. Update: I went back a second time because it is close to where I work, and SAME thing, SKIN with little to no meat. The skin is VERY fishy.. I ate a ton of different Lion King rolls from numerous other sushi places and none are like this. I attached a picture of what it looks like, and clearly it has a very thin layer of meat and it's right next to the skin with the SKIN still attached. Takeout process is easy- call in, place your order (menu online), give your name and phone number then it's ready in 15 minutes! Enough time for you to get yourself together and drive over. They have a table set up at the doorway where you pay- easy and efficient. I ordered salmon sashimi and the salmon lover roll. I love salmon. You get a large amount of sashimi- about 5-6 large slices. Very fresh where you felt like you didn't need anything to top it off. The salmon lover roll was good as well- 6 pieces. Very basic roll- no fancy sauces... sometimes you don't need heavy sushi and just wanted the healthy freshness! For both I paid about $25 without tip. Reasonable price for what you get. O' Sushi is located in the Newark Shopping Center next to MandRo Tea House and Baskin Robbins. I came here on a Thursday night when they had just opened for dinner time. It was empty for a while and gradually more people were being seated. Our server was a friendly gentleman. He provided my table with complimentary edamame and gyoza. The gyoza was crispy, and had a flavorful filling. I ordered the Ichiban Roll which is hamachi and unagi inside of a CA roll and tobiko sprinkled on top. I wasn't a fan of the hamachi (yellowtail), but the unagi/eel was very tasty and cooked well. The lion king roll is a baked CA roll with salmon and sauce. This baked roll did take a bit longer than the rest of our orders since it had to be cooked. The lion king was creamy and warm. Baked salmon is so yummy! It's a great choice if you don't like raw sushi. The server refilled our waters and had made sure we were enjoying our meal. Towards the end of the meal, we were given complimentary ice cream! This place is packed for dinner on a Thursday night. I met a friend here for dinner and we were lucky enough to get a table early before the dinner crowd. By the time we left, there was a line out the door. The most memorable dish here was the Kanto Chirashi. The fish was so fresh and it included variety of fish. The rice underneath was seasoned with pickled radish and fish eggs. It was delicious all on its own. I'd definitely get this again next time. Tempura and clam miso soup was also delicious. She cleared everything in her bento box so that should be enough evidence as it was a great meal lol. She was very impressed with their sashimi as well. My Salmon Bento Box was so good as well. The presentation was amazing as well. I loved the tower build of the tempuras. Salmon wasn't over cooked nor under. The sauce brings such a delicious sweetness to match with the salmon. I usually don't eat the skin of the salmon from a bad experience elsewhere but I ate the whole salmon including the skin-so yummy! The sashimi wasn't chewy at all, it almost melted in my mouth. I loved it! The tempura wasn't too crunchy which I'd prefer but it was still very very enjoyable. I had one piece of shrimp tempura in there and it was delicious! I can say the rice was a bit dry, I added a bit of the tempura dipping on top and the sauce from the salmon to eat a portion of it. The slice of Orange is both me and moms favorite part of the bento boxes. The environment of the place is great, lots of people seated in already before we came and the staff were all super welcoming. We adored our waitress Lucy she made our visit amazing so thank you Lucy!! My mother loves to make jokes and the staff went right along with it. As the waiter took our dishes my mother noticed her orange still on the plate as he picked it up and quickly grabbed the orange slice and the gentleman played right along and said, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to take your Orange" in the same tone as my mother said, "Are you trying to take my Orange don't take my Orange" oh I'm terrible at reciting a moment lol you just had to be there but that gentleman was hilarious and thank you for not taking it personal lol he played right along! I love this place and the people! We will be back for the food of course but mainly for the great service. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing. Everyone was in great spirits and attentive! The parking can be a hassle as there are many other yummy spots around along the same path. If no parking, there is a huge Safeway parking lot around the corner that is definitely walking distance. #1 roll is the bomb!!!! My go-to. This is my favorite sushi restaurant in all newark & fremont. Comparable to Satomi. The service is great, they are all very nice & attentive. It's a fairly small restaurant but I always manage to get seated. I honestly started ordering take-out mainly and I am pleased with how they bag the food and stable the bag. If you order a drink, they wrap it in a napkin to keep it cold. My order food here, my order is always : one #1 roll & tekka maki one avo roll with cucumber & 2 orders of unari nigiri & veggie gyoza. The one downside Id say is that, clearly one of those orders are mainly veggie and they always seem to combine and mix the orders up. I don't specifically ask for them separately but I figured why put two veggie orders with two fish orders. No biggie, I always separate it when I-get home. It's just unfortunate because my partner is vegan so her avo-cucumber is always with my #1 roll. I just wish they were more mindful about that. read more

You might think this is just another sushi spot in a strip mall, and while you might be correct, this is also one of friendliest sushi spots I have ever been to. Staff was beyond attentive, great experience and great sushi and sashimi. I couldn't have asked for more from a casual and unassuming spot. Slices are cut thicc, just how I like em! Service was awesome! I hardly ever review service but everyone was so nice. They were accommodating to allergy requests and seat changes, AND they gave us not 1 but 2!! dishes on the house. Those are the gyoza and grilled salmon collar which were also delicious. Three stars. Because the customer service sucks. We came here for lunch, first thing the waitress gave us a plate of edamame. My kids literally ate the bowl since they loved it so much. Then another waiter came with another bowl of edamame saying, "oh you got a bowl of edamame already?" And he took away the edamame bowl (wtf). My friend literally said, "well can you just give it to us since you already put on the table?" So he put it back again. Errrr okay. We ordered; 1. Beef udon. The server came with a bowl of udon. I didn't check again what bowl of udon that he came with so I started to serve for my kids. Then another server came with beef udon bowl, and started rambling (and almost made a scene), "okay you ordered beef udon right?" What you have right now is seafood udon. Bish how the F would I know? You should have checked that from the back and why you yell at your customer?? 2. Salmon roll. It was okay, not the best but edible. My apetite was gone already by the rookie mistake made by the server earlier. Another bad tip made by the server, when I asked for sriracha sauce. She didn't even say anything, only just stared at me then said "you want sriracha sauce?" She didn't even ask how your meal was or if everything was okay or not. This place isn't good anymore, I noticed a change in service and I finally looked on here and doing this (attached photo) so it looks like the original ppl moved to Texas and sold this business To new ppl you can tell if you're a regular mind you all the great 5 star reviews are from before when the original owners were here. My family and I went he for years as it is our go to sushi spot in the area. The service would greet you happily and loudly in Japanese once you enter and thank you once you're done and leaving. The new ppl don't seem to do so much of that. I don't think they're no longer Japanese which is why. And the waitresses seem to not remember your order when serving it one had to ask if one was ours. There's no fee complimentary ice cream anymore after your done eating as well. Yes it's the same menu but the food isn't made good like how the original owners made it. I was in the mood for sushi, and my regular casual sushi places weren't available on DoorDash for the location I was at, so I went with O'Sushi because they had the highest ratings. They have bentos, udons, and a bunch of elaborate rolls, but we just went with some more basic things: - Kanto Chirashi with ikura: $1 more than the regular chirashi. Based on their menu, it was unclear to me if there's any other difference in fish between the two chirashi options. The fish was ok. I actually kind of liked the non traditional seasoned rice with bits of egg, burdock, tobiko, etc, but it was a bit heavy on the sesame oil and is certainly not traditional - Kuri kuri roll: the low carb option - wrapped in cucumber and served with ponzu - pretty generously portioned - Ikura nigiri: their ikura didn't have the pop I was looking for - Futo maki, tamago, and the California roll were our toddler friendly options and were standard. I do appreciate that the California roll wasn't mayo laden crab salad and was just pieces of imitation crab, instead The sushi rice was seasoned and wasn't just plain rice. Of note, I just noticed when I got to Yelp (after I placed my DoorDash order) that they got a conditional pass for their health score. That's a little concerning for a place serving raw fish, but we were all fine after dinner. Overall, it wasn't amazing sushi, but I appreciate their effort, and portions were pretty good. read more
