I LOVED THE OREO TIRAMISU SHAVED ICE. Such a good combination with the coffee and tiramisu with the bingsoo and oreo chunks. The mango melon was huge and came inside a melon bowl! My group of 5 ordered a share size and single size bingsoo as a pre-dinner dessert treat.
After a delicious lunch, my niece and I were on a mission for desserts. This location of Oakobing is in Koreatown was within walking distance so we decided to check it out. For those driving here, we did notice it was connected to small parking structure. Upon entering the front, there were 2 kiosks. We had no interaction with staff. There was no customization with the selections and there was no one to ask. For instance the mango shaved snow came with the melon. I wanted the strawberry shaved snow with the melon balls but they didn't have that option. When you order additional toppings, they leave it on the side. Not visually appealing at all. My niece and I shared the Strawberry Shaved Ice ($18.99) and added Mochi ($2.50) and Melon Balls ($4.25). After you order from the kiosk, you seat yourself and they'll call your number when your order ready. I really like their shaved ice here because the ice is creamy and flavored before they shave it so it's extra flavorful and creamy. It's just really expensive for what it is and especially pricey when you want additional ingredients. Most other shaved ice businesses will allow multiple ingredients for a portion of the cost. One thing that was weird is how it came in a plate instead of a bowl shaped container. Eat quick and make sure it doesn't tip over. I'm so torn because I like the product after the addition of more toppings, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. Also no staff interaction and lacking customization makes my experience as a customer frustrating and limited. Not sure if I would come back.
Sooo good and portions are huge. My boyfriend and i made the mistake of getting one small and one large--DO NOT BE FOOLED, a large is MORE than enough for two people lol The only thing that kinda sucks is that for both the small and the large, they each get the same amount of sweetened milk to pour over the top. I feel like the large should get a bigger portion but idk maybe that's just me. It also sucks because if you want more of the milk topping you have to pay extra, sooo :/ Otherwise, I loved it and I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors!
Well, it's your usual fruit bingsu. Nothing special. Kinda old interior. Not worth a return. But decent when in a pinch.
Was in there area the other night for dinner and, afterwards, the ladies wanted dessert, and Oakobing was like a block away, so we walked over to give it a try. It was busy, obviously on a weekend, but there were kiosks to place your orders and the desserts came out fast enough given the amount of people there. I'd say, if it is busy, have someone find a table while the other orders so you have somewhere to sit. We tried three different shredded ice desserts, all single size: Matcha, Strawberry and Mango. For a single serving, they are so pretty big. If you get the large one, FYI, it is huge and should be shared by multiple people. The matcha was everyone's favorite. Great matcha flavor of you're in to matcha. The strawberry and mango were more of a her down, having very muted strawberry and mango flavored. Between the two, however, the mango was probably the better one. Just a little more flavorful. It was nice having the fresh fruit on each one though. Overall, a nice shaved ice spot in Ktown serving up a variety of shaved ice desserts. If you like matcha, get the matcha one for sure. As for the strawberry and mango, they're ok but you can definitely get better, more flavorful, fruit desserts elsewhere.
This was good! It definitely wasn't my favorite Bingsu in Ktown, BUT it is such a great deal for the price. The service was good, and there was inside and outside seating. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed - but we were able to wait a little and find seating! This is great if you're coming with a group and want to share. They also have smaller sizes too for two people.
We came here on Memorial Day, about 15 minutes after they opened for the day and it was already packed! Crazy! We found metered parking directly across from Oakobing and walked over. I think there is parking behind the shops through the alley. I didn't know any specifics since I didn't park there. As we walked in the front doors, I got in line while hubby saved us a table. If you go out the back door, there is another room with more seating. I waited for my turn at the kiosk... you place the order yourself. Be sure to enter your phone number to earn loyalty points. I felt bad for the one lady making all the orders by herself. She was working as quickly as she could! I watched her for a little bit. She changed gloves often, keeping the ingredients separated. It wasn't long before I was taking my order to the table. I ordered two individual size bingsoos. One would have been ample for us to share. Each of them cost $8.50 and I got a side of Mochi for $2.25. This was some of the freshest Mochi topping I've had! Each piece was so super soft, even softer than marshmallows! They came in a condiment container so we could add them as we desired. Hubby's bingsoo was the Mango Melon and mine was the Mango. The shaved ice used was Mango for both. His had melon (Honeydew) balls and mine had mango chunks. This wasn't the best bingsoo I've had, but it was refreshing and made for a nice dessert! I thought I had been here before and I was right! It was Homibing and since my visit in 2017, it has become Oakobing. I'm glad we got to come check it out! The shaved ice menu still looks the same, except for the updated prices!
One of the best desserts in LA. Light and refreshing, with good portions. A single can definitely feed two people! I get the injeolmi every time. Tastes like peanut butter to me but my cousin says coffee. -1 Star because the wifi was down and you had to order through door dash. Would have been more convenient to have Square payment in store. Our order still came out quickly. Seating is decent but this place gets packed in the evenings!
Yes yes yes! I think I found my new favorite dessert spot for the summer! These Korean shaved ice are where it's at! They are perfectly light, and sweet and packed with flavor! You don't feel like you're eating shaved ice! You feel like you're eating a fluffy cloud! When you walk in, you are greeted by kiosks where you place your order. You don't have much interaction with the staff other than than they calling out your number when your order is ready Only downside is they were playing music way too loud! The store itself had maybe 1-2 other parties inside... but the music was too loud we practically had to yell at each other to MAYBE hear the person right next to us. I definitely was not a fan of that vibe. The dessert itself though was phenomenal

Cute Korean shaved ice cafe! There's lots of options to choose from. It was super busy when we arrived. Parking is tough with the large amounts of people. Seating was completely full and spills over to an extra room they have for seating. The waiting line was out the door for the two ordering kiosks. The Injeolmi Shaved Ice was my favorite. It is a creamy milk flavor. Ice was finely shaved and melted in the mouth nicely. Mochi pieces gave it extra texture. Dirty green tea oreo shaved ice has a shot of coffee on the side to drizzle on. The green tea isn't really a strong taste and the ice just makes it more watery. Coffee drizzled on just made the dessert a little more bitter. Overall an okay place for shaved ice. I'll probably only order the injeolmi shaved ice next time!
We visited Oakobing for dessert after dining at Hangari Kalguksu nearby just before for lunch. Although it was just down the street, we had to pay again for parking since we weren't allowed to leave the respective lots without paying extra. $5 parking just to grab dessert was a bit of a sting but for LA it's to be expected. The place was somewhat small but wasn't really busy for a Saturday afternoon, and we noticed they had some spacious auxiliary seating areas specifically for Oakobing across the hall. At first glance, the prices seemed sort of high for shaved ice, so we opted for sharing 2 of the smallest personal sizes ($8.5 each). It turns out that this size was plenty. I'm not sure how big the regular bowls are, but I think especially after a meal the personal size is plenty for a satisfying dessert for 2 people. I'm assuming part of the large price difference in sizes comes down to the large amount of fresh fruit that comes on their regular bowls. Still, we very much enjoyed our bowls. The ice is shaved almost impossibly thin, and rather than melting into a pool of water almost turns into a sorbet/ice cream like texture, which is very satisfying to eat. I enjoyed how their condensed milk topping was diluted to form a lighter cream that was more sauce-like than think and drizzle-like. It all lended to making the dessert enjoyably light. I would definitely drop by again, especially if we could avoid the parking costs.
I had really high hopes for this place considering it was recommended by a friend and the positive reviews, but we were pretty disappointed. We ordered the mango bingsoo with a side of the melon balls. I like the texture of the snow, but the flavor left much to be desired. It has an artificial mango taste that isn't very pleasant. The mangos were also not fresh... tasted like the frozen mangos you get at the freezer section of the grocery store. I wish it was also in a bowl, since it's pretty messy eating it on the plate. Every time I tried to scoop some snow, some would fall onto the tray since the plate is so small. The melon balls were fine, slightly sweet but not super ripe. I like that you can order through a kiosk and that there's pictures of what you are ordering. The snow came out reasonably quickly considering there was only one person working. The interior has plenty of tables for you to sit down and enjoy your desserts. We parked nearby for lunch and walked over, but parking seems pretty limited/difficult (standard for LA though I guess, lol).
One of my favorite, go-to spots for dessert in LA! If you're looking for something cold, sweet, soft texture, and sharable, this is the spot! This shop specializes in bingsoo which is a Korean shaved iced dessert made using milk/cream. What makes it so special is the texture which is much softer than your regular shaved iced desserts. That combined with their amazing toppings, flavors, and presentation, it takes the top dessert spot on many people's lists. This most recent time I went, I got the Injeolmi shaved ice and it was delicious. I loved the earthy and nutty injeolmi powder combined with the soft and creamy shaved iced. It was delicious. I also loved the chewy mochi bits which provided a nice additional texture to the dessert. My friend and I shared the single size one and it was perfect to share between the two of us. It can get pretty busy and crowded here, so plan accordingly. Parking in the area is difficult since it's street parking, but there's also garage parking in the back that you would have to pay for. Overall, I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the LA Ktown area. read more
Happened to end up at this spot for dessert after a girls lunch date. I had heard of this place a couple of times prior to actually trying it so I was pretty excited when one of my girls suggested we check it out. The store is small, as expected from its storefront. You walk in and there's 2 kiosks that you can order from. Then the employee makes the shaved iced, lugging around a large cylindrical block of flavored ice to the machine to make your order and does all the fixins before bringing it out to you. The service here is a minimal, so I can't really review on that, unless that's the review itself. O_O. Now our orders - The girls and I ordered the mango, green tea, and tiramisu. I think they were all really good, but one particularly stood out more than the other two. First let me start off my saying that they were all very refreshing. I felt like it was a sweet treat without the guilt (even though I know there is a little bit ;) ). The mango one was as expected, but just wish the mangoes that they had were just a tad bit sweeter. I ranked this one an 8/10. The green tea was the least sweet, but still pretty good and ranked this one an 8/10. And the Tiramisu, to my surprise, was actually my favorite. It wasn't too sweet, and I like the play on the cocoa powder on top. The mouth texture it provided was nice. I gave this one an 8.5/10. I probably would have enjoyed it so much more if I wasn't too full and wasn't watching my sugar intake, but for what it was - I would still come get this again. Oakobing is always so tasty! Love their flavors and presentation but when it's crowded it just feels SO SUFFOCATING! They have two touchscreens to self order and you either wait inside or outside but there's never enough seating so you may want to consider if you have a big group. The shaved ice itself is delicious, never too sweet and comes in a generous serving! Even the single is plenty to share read more

If you're looking for the perfect dessert to cap off a dinner in K-town, Oakobing is the spot. Traditional Korean bingsu, the portion sizes are excellent for the price. But more importantly, the texture is impeccable. The ice is so thinly shaved that it's folded on top of itself almost like a delicate fabric. Once you pour the on the condensed milk, it blends together and creates an almost ice cream like texture, while being significantly lighter and healthier. After a heavy KBBQ dinner, this is EXACTLY what you want to cap of an evening in K-town. You don't want to miss it! read more
LA bucket list spot!! It's like the mian mian bing of my childhood but Korean. Not icy at all and very fluffy + mochi was so tender. I liked how you could decide how much condensed milk to add yourself. It can get very crowded but service is fast. There's also a small portion that can be easier to finish for groups less than 4 people. read more

Love that they are doing special flavors each month! I reccommend checking our their instagram as they post which monthly flavor is happening. I went in june and was able to get the pineapple bingsu. Absolutely loved! Oakobing is one of my favorite bingsu places in koreatown and LA. Only downside is the place will fill up quite quickly for the summer,so seating is scarce. I do see some people do take-out so that could be an option. Must try in Ktown :) read more

I've been here twice now, and it's one of my favorite shaved ice places in LA. Both times, I got the same thing. Maybe next time, I'll have to switch it up. I got the strawberry and mango melon as these are my favorite flavors. I came for dessert after stuffing myself full at dinner, and I thought it was going to be too much. The serving size is good, it's refreshing, and it's not too sweet. I did feel full for maybe 30 minutes afterwards, but it goes away fast since it's mainly ice and several pieces of fruit. It's always packed in there, but the wait time isn't bad at all. I would say less than 5 minutes max on a packed weekend night. They are pretty efficient. My go-to spot for bingsu in LA! I've tried their oreo tiramisu, injeolmi, and mango melon flavors-all are terrific, and satisfy slightly different flavor cravings. Had the mango melon on my most recent visit, I can definitely see why it's one of the most popular flavors, very light and refreshing. The texture of the ice here is extremely smooth and creamy, with the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. It gets quite packed and noisy at times, sometimes it can be tricky to find a seat right away, but the orders move quite fast. read more
This was my second time visiting Oakobing. While the shaved ice is delicious, my overall impression of the place hasn't been great--both visits left me feeling disappointed. First, the store is quite small, so waiting for a table is already a stressful experience. On top of that, the dessert prep area looked unclean, and the floors were noticeably dirty. During my first visit (on December 25, 2024), I was able to park in the parking structure without any issues. However, today (June 16, 2025), I see that valet parking was now required upon entering. They charged $5 for cash or $5.50 for Apple Pay, but the strange part was--they told me to park the car myself. If I'm self-parking, why am I paying a valet fee? When I got out of the car, the person collecting payments was just sitting there scrolling on his phone. The structure itself had plenty of open spots (probably because it's Father's Day), yet later I saw him valet another car and park it right in front of mine, completely blocking it. The whole experience was illogical and frustrating from start to finish. I don't think I'll be returning to this location. I'll probably try the Pasadena branch next time and hope for a better experience. read more

Besides street parking, there's a parking structure that's connected to the store as well. This spot does get pretty busy! We checked out this spot after dinner still craving a sweet treat. This spot did not disappoint! The inside was nice and clean filled with cute decorations. They have an area by the entrance to easily place your order so we went with the Injeolmi and Oreo Tiramisu. I thought I wasn't going to finish my bowl but it's so light and not overly sweet and managed to lick my bowl clean. The extra pour over sauces added an extra sweet flavor if you'd like to add it on. The Oreo tiramisu had a creamy taste and the crunchy Oreo was a nice texture balance. The chewy mochi in the Injeolmi was nicely paired to the soft shave ice and wasn't too sweet. Don't miss out on this spot, it's too good to pass by! read more
We stumbled upon this place late Friday night in Koreatown, and were intrigued because there was a long line up. We had never had bingsu (or bingsoo) before and decided to give it a try. Wow! This is our new favorite dessert. Super light and fluffy shaved ice, unlike anything you have ever had before. All I can say is that a single serving might not be enough. We had the larger serving and easily finished it between the two of us. The mango melon and strawberry seemed very popular, but we tried the Injeolmi, which tasted like a lightly toasted peanut. It was great! Note though, this place is packed, you will have trouble finding seating so you may want to either get takeout or come during off peak hours. read more
Oakobing is probably the gold standard for bingsu in the LA KTown area. They're always busy and it's always a little bit hectic, but that's just the sign of a good spot (that's the case in Houston Chinatown at least). There are a lot of shaved ice flavors to choose from. I have tried the red bean and the mango melon the few times I've been able to visit. The ice is perfectly milky yet not too sweet and it serves as the perfect vessel to carry the fruit or other flavor that you choose. The accuracy and prominence of taste and the presentation of every bowl of shaved ice is top notch. They even serve the large mango melon bingsu in a half of honeydew! Like I mentioned before, it's always a little hectic and crowded. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk. I've only been able to get a table one time because all of the tables are usually occupied. Parking isn't the easiest since it seems that there's only street parking available. Overall, would recommend as this is the perfect way to cap off an AYCE KBBQ meal! read more

This Oakobing location makes me so sad. It's almost always cramped with hoards of college students loitering around inside and out at night and the wait time is very long. That's not necessarily at any fault to the store, but I never found it worth it to get shaved ice here. read more

Delicious and fluffy shaved ice/bingsoo! It was so good and shaved super finely. We got mango and green tea, and I could actually taste the flavors. I wish the mango flavor was a bit stronger, but it was really good with the sweet milk drizzle and mango chunks. Paired with mochi, the bingsoo was the perfect cold treat. Service was quick, but the interior was just ok (there were large patches of peeled paint on the walls). Overall, I highly recommend! read more

Oakobing in K-town had long lines and limited seating, but it's clear why it's so popular. They have lots of different flavors of shaved ice and personal sizes as well so you can get one to share or have for yourself! The size was big enough to share with 2-3 people. Injeolmi is my favorite so I had to get it, and it came with tiny rice cakes and sweet syrup. It has such a great nutty flavor that pairs well with the ice. If you like it fruity, the mango melon is also a great option and it comes with round melon balls to pair with the tart flavor. The texture of the ice is what sets this place apart, since the texture is more sticky and milky, almost like ice cream, but it still maintains the layers of the ice themselves. Once you beat the line, you order at the kiosk and then they call your number for pick up. There is limited seating indoors and some outdoor standing tables as well. It would be a great place to check out if you're a bingsoo fan! read more

This Bingsu (shaved ice) dessert shop in Koreatown, LA, is a must-visit. While small and often crowded, the Bingsu here is exceptional and worth the trip. The fruity flavors are delightful and refreshing--not at all watered down. Plus, the separate sugared milk for adjusting sweetness is a fantastic touch. You can also enhance your experience with additional toppings for a small cost; we opted for mochi, which added a wonderful traditional Korean texture that perfectly complemented the icy dessert. The ordering process is smooth and efficient, with two kiosks available. Extra outdoor seating out front is available on lovely days to enjoy your Bingsu in the fresh air. Despite having only one staff member on hand, our Bingsu was served quickly, which speaks volumes about their kitchen efficiency. read more

Oakobing is a popular bingsu spot in K-Town, and my visit there was a mix of delicious dessert and a bit of a chaotic seating situation. Ordering through the kiosk was simple and efficient, but the wait for the actual order took some time. Seating is very limited both inside and outside, and there were a lot of people standing around waiting for tables to open up. Fortunately, I was able to grab a table just as someone was leaving, but it definitely felt crowded. It would be great if they could optimize their space better, perhaps by adding standing tables or expanding the store space to accommodate more guests. I tried the Strawberry Shaved Ice for $14.99 with an extra side of roasted soybean powder for $1. The texture of the shaved ice was perfect--soft, airy, and melt-in-your-mouth. It came with fresh strawberries, which were quite sour, but they paired well with the sweetness of the shaved ice. Overall, the dessert was satisfying, though it leaned heavily on the sweet side. While the bingsu itself was enjoyable, the experience of eating there was a bit stressful due to the crowd. Located in Koreatown, Oakobing is a popular Korean shaved ice spot, perfect for after a meal nearby! I love coming here for a quick refreshing dessert. The matcha and strawberry bingsoo are my favorite but I decided to go with the mango melon this time, honestly you can't miss with any of the flavors! All are so refreshing and light! It does get pretty busy here but tables and seatings do open up pretty quick too, if not, they have some standing space to enjoy your treat too! read more

Pretty good shaved ice that's light and fluffy. Unfortunately, the mango melon one wasn't as good as it looked. The mango flavor tasted artificial and the melon isn't in season so it tasted like ice. The injeolmi was much better. Not too sweet and easier to finish. I recommend the single size for 2-3 people because it's pretty large. Not crowded at all on a Tuesday afternoon and plenty of seating indoors. Neighborhood parking across the street. read more
Been wanting to try this place out for forever and it did not disappoint!! We got the seasonal special strawberry melon and a smaller size of the Oreo tiramisu. The portion of the strawberry melon was actually so big, definitely enough to split amongst like 3 people. The fruits were both super sweet, I especially loved the melon! The ice itself is firmer at first and then melts into like ice cream in your mouth. The Oreo tiramisu was also really good, I've never had a flavor quite like it, it definitely is quite heavy on the coffee flavor though, especially with the sauce. Oakobing is the perfect spot when you want something light, refreshing, and beautifully done. The shaved ice was incredibly fine and fluffy--almost snow-like--and melted perfectly with each bite. The mango bowl was bright and juicy with fresh fruit that tasted ripe and natural, not syrupy. The red bean option was just as good: lightly sweet, comforting, and perfectly balanced with the ice. What really stood out was how clean and delicate the flavors were. Nothing felt overly sweet or heavy, which made it easy to enjoy the whole bowl without feeling overwhelmed. My friend and I decided to grab some dessert after having some lunch at a nearby restaurant. This oakobing is located at the bottom level of a building near a sunright tea studio. There's a dedicated parking lot for it towards the back that's accessible by going through a little street/alley way. This oakobing was pretty busy when we arrived. There was already 2-3 parties eating. Our order was taken by a kiosk. We ordered a mango melon single serving and a strawberry single serving. They were both really good. The ice was soft and creamy. It melted right on my tongue. My favorite was probably the mango melon because the combination was delicious. I didn't realize how complementary the mango and melon would be. Strawberry was also good; I just preferred the mango melon. This place is a little unkept. The table we were sitting at was sticky and messy. We cleaned it up ourselves before sitting down. The floors are also a little sticky. If it was a little cleaner, my review would have been higher. read more

This was our first time here, and our friends Sean recommended it. He's actually been here quite a few times already! He's the guy on the left. We didn't find street parking, but we did see that there was a parking lot that we could drive into through the alley. We take an immediate left into the covered parking garage, where a valet guy greets you. It's five dollars to park there. Then you walk through the doors by the parking lot and you can find the back door of the dessert shop. Or you could go outside through the little alleyway that is lit up pretty well even at night, and walk through the front glass doors as well. It was very busy when we walked in, guessing it's always busy as we heard. This is a popular hotspot! We waited in line just a little bit, but not too long as there's at least three registers that are able to take peoples orders. Everything seem to be pretty digital so you can just select what you want from the menu. This place has a different monthly special items menu so you can check out their newest creation! The month of April they had some marshmallow toppings on top, looked pretty yummy and fluffy. We decided to get three different singleserving ones so we can kind of try a little bit of everything! The line wasn't too long, but there were no tables on the inside. We were lucky to get the little sidewall area that kind of has a ledge and you can stay standing. It's fine though it's probably better digestion to stand, and I didn't feel like waiting for other tables to get up. There are also tables outside too, however we went at night so Too chilly for me to want to sit outside and eat a cold dessert. lol We ordered : Single Mango Melon Shaved Ice Single Strawberry Shaved Ice Single Injeolmi Shaved Ice The wait time to get everything wasn't super bad! It's really hard to say, which was the best one! I personally love strawberries in general, but I will say that the mango one was pretty tasty, but out of the three we all felt like the single INJEOLMI flavor was the best of the three! I don't even know what is made of technically, but pure magic goodness! Make sure to eat your dessert ASAP, especially if it is on a hot day and you're outside of course. I like that the fruit is fresh here and the mint leaves were also fresh! They also have an assortment of lattes here.. maybe we'll try that another time.. I think next time I'll order a side of their fresh fruit, I wish it came with a little bit more fruit, but maybe that's a personal thing for me! Came here on a Sunday around 5pm ordered in the tablet. Service was fine wish they had a loud speaker to say order names. Inside small. Ordered the strawberry flavor it was a good size. It was soft and tasteful. The milk comes in a small cup it's not condensed milk drizzle. Overall good for price to taste. read more

No. It's crowded and loud. Always a long line with people darting in and out.

yes. there's no meat products, just hold the condensed milk.

it is actually pretty awesome!! they put them in these little paper cups and have ice packs in the packaging so they are still frozen when they arrive.
