    Chicken Shawarma Wrap
    John K.

We just checked into the Hyatt so we went across the street to grab lunch. We didn't realize they don't have tables so we got it to go. They asked how spicy I wanted my wrap. We went back to the hotel atrium and enjoyed eating the wraps. The wrap had great flavor. The sauce in the wrap was tasty. I would have liked for diced cucumber and tomato in the wrap. Most bites of the chicken were tender. The vibe of this restaurant reminded me of a NY deli.

I ordered the Greek salad and added beef shawarma. The food took a while to come out (albeit during a lunch rush in FiDi). The salad was a little watery, but it was a solid Greek salad with cucumber, olives, cheese, tomatoes, etc. I really liked the hummus, which was creamy and rich. The beef was mostly tender and quite flavorful, but there were coagulated pieces of the oil it was cooking in, and some pieces that were chewy and tendon-y. I was a bit disappointed by the quality of shawarma given the price. There is no seating in Oasis Grill - it is a grab and go establishment.

Had kind of a sad looking lunch here - the one skewer feels pretty illegal & totally bad value. The chicken wasn't super impressive in flavor, either. I was happy with the Mediterranean flavors around it, but overall a very average place to get food. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place if I'm visiting the area.

What else can I say? Look at the picture! That was $2.00 but they gave me 5 napkins and a fork Didn't need that. But ok I was still stunned by the $2.00

Don't know if Mo still works here or whether he still owns/manages this place, but I used to eat here all the time when I worked nearby. Every time I go there, he recognizes me (and other regulars) and is so friendly. The food is good too. I love their chicken shawarma wrap and falafels! Oasis Grill has many locations in the City, but I believe this may be their OG location. Small take out place, fantastic food, located on Drumm and Sacramento.

I was a bit disappointed with Oasis Grill because the quality of their shawarma was lacking. I ordered the beef shawarma, which took a while to receive. People who ordered after me received their orders first. The beef shawarma was dry and bland--definitely needed more sauce to add flavor and texture. For $14, I don't think it was worth it. It was pretty big, but the lack of flavor does not justify the price. They do offer many more options on their menu, so maybe the shawarma is not their best offering. I am intrigued to try their skewer plates, kebabs, and other marinated meats since I saw a few people order those. The restaurant is just for takeout. There is no indoor seating. I'm not sure how hectic it can get during prime meal hours, but there were a decent number of people when I visited.

Falafel Bliss and Shawarma Satisfaction! I participated in a multi-month professional training program in San Francisco's Financial District a few years ago. Weekend lunch options were limited, especially for those of us who preferred something beyond typical fast food. One day, someone recommended Oasis Grill during a lunchtime debate about where to grab a bite. It quickly became a favorite among us for the rest of the program. My office was nearby, so Oasis Grill became a go-to lunch spot for the following few years during my workweek. I particularly enjoyed the falafel and shawarma wraps. The shawarma offered a choice of beef, lamb, or chicken. My regular visits were abruptly interrupted by the pandemic. Then, last week, a craving for a falafel wrap led me back to Oasis Grill. Though the staff had changed, the place looked mostly unchanged. The staff quickly filled orders, and most importantly, the falafel wrap was just as tasty as I remembered! The wraps come in two sizes: regular and deluxe. The deluxe has a few extra items for a couple of dollars more, but the regular is just as satisfying. The store is very small, and there is no place to sit, but if you are looking for a takeout option, it is a very good option.

The flavor of the food was quite good, although the decision to use ground chicken made it feel a little less fresh. Also the bread they used for the wrap was crunchy but looked like it was made in a factory. Service was prompt and friendly, and ambiance was simple with 2 seats in the restaurant. They did have good music though!

Going back into the office three days a week is tough. Well, at least I can eat at my old favorite restaurants around Fidi again. Oasis Grill is still around. I can't believe it. Most of Drumm st. feel abandoned. We got the beef shawarma wrap $17 and a vegan deluxe bowl $14. It didn't taste as good as before though. Still very good. My shawarma wrap had plenty of meat and had a lot of flavor. Good job everyone at Oasis Grill.

What's the spiciest thing on the menu?

You can make anything spicy, they add harrisa to anything you want

Why is this location rated so much higher than the other Oasis locations? Are the other locations not as good?

This is the original location and much of the staff here has been here from the start and has a VERY loyal customer base because they're that awesome. The food is just as good at the other locations but the service varies more.

Which menu items are gluten free? Asking for a relative who has celiacs.

Any meat I imagine, like the chicken plate or a beef skewer... I would doublecheck before placing your order. They also have hummus and a cucumber tomato type mix

Is the falafel wrap also vegan? Why doesn't it have the vegan logo on it?

It's vegan, no meat no cheese or dairy from what I recalled

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. I booked our table about a month in advance, which turned out to be the right move because the restaurant was bustling during the lunch hour. To start, we ordered four small plates to share among our party of four: meatballs, saganaki, spanakotiropita, and a pair of dips (melitzanosolata and favasalata) with pita. Everything was excellent, and our spread was inclusive of a wide variety of flavors and textures: salty, creamy, acidic, sweet, crunchy. The meatballs and the dips are definitely a must-order and are ideal for sharing. The spanakotiropita were larger and more filling than expected, so if I were to order those again, I'd dial it back and stick with small plates rather than a full-sized entree. The saganaki was a showstopper; it is served sizzling and crackling on a cast iron dish and had a nice salty flavor that allowed the cheese to be served on its own. For my main dish, I ordered the braised goat - which is not something I'd typically order because goat meat is usually tough - but I was intrigued how it was prepared as a stew. The dish almost reminded me of a Moroccan tagine - the goat was braised to peak tenderness and bathed in a slightly fruity and well-spiced sauce; dotted with pieces of melted feta; and served on top of a bed of baked orzo, which was served fresh-from-the oven in a mini cast iron dish. I was so full after our meal that I had to walk it off for a few blocks, but I cannot wait for our next special occasion so we can come back and celebrate with another feast at Kokkari Estiatorio.

The service apparently called out sick. Let's start with the good news: the food was genuinely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The mint lemonade was bright and refreshing. The chicken skewers were flavorful and perfectly cooked (though surprisingly small). The halumi salad with eggplant was a generous portion. Now for the "Mooore" part. I was hoping the restaurant's name was also a mission statement. However, we could have used more attentive service. More follow-through. More toilet paper... Unfortunately, once we were seated, we were essentially released into the wild. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code, which is perfectly fine in theory. In practice, it felt like sending requests into the void. A drink I ordered never appeared. Nobody checked on the table, so I had to get up and walk to the counter to ask about it. Later, I had to make another trip to remind them we had ordered dessert. Then another trip when we wanted a to-go box. Apparently, the evening's theme was "interactive dining," where the guests perform most of the customer service duties themselves. Tips are forced when you first order online - no refunds on that. The bathroom offered its own adventure. The trash bin was overflowing with dirty paper towels, and there was little to no toilet paper available. As the daughter of a health inspector, knowing that staff use the same facility, I would have given this a poor hygiene grade. What made the experience frustrating was that the food was good enough to make you want to come back. But when your guests spend half the meal looking for someone to help them, it takes away from what could have been a 'more' pleasant evening.

I think the sauce should have been on the side. The rest of the dish was good. 4/5 LAMB KEBAB PLATE ~ this was my dish. I touched my skewers thinking they were going to be hot, but it was surprisingly cold. I'm not sure why skewers would be cold when the food should be hot right off the grill. The lamb was cooked medium rare as I requested, though there was little to no seasoning. So it was kind of gamey and tasteless 3/5 RACK OF LAMB PLATE ~ my partner chose this dish.
