This will stay as my go-to neighborhood pho restaurant. I hope they continue growing because I need this place weekly in my life. I am so glad they open until 9pm which is later than some places and also open Sundays when my second favorite pho place is closed (Saigon Dish). This is my first favorite because they do pho really well from the added meat, broth and herbs. I've tried most pho places in South Bay and feel this place is top notch for me when it comes to consistently good pho. They don't have bun Bo hue, but offer other authentic unique apps and noodle dishes. Every time I come I try a different app on the menu. I love their cafe de sua it has a nice chicory Smokey flavor. They have a special bun dish that's like a build your own vermicelli bowl with the grilled meat already marinating in the sauce. That one comes with a lot of fresh herbs more than the regular vermicelli bowls. The price is super reasonable, even for pho. All in all, I'm just grateful a place like this is in our neighborhood so I don't have to drive to garden grove for a solid bowl of pho. OMG! Oh My Pho is a hidden gem! It's located in Lawndale on Prairie near Marine with a very understated storefront. You might miss it if you're not paying attention. There's free street parking out front as well as a parking lot in the rear. There weren't many people there when I went but it was also non-peak hours. Seems like a humble mom-and-pop type of establishment...very clean, efficient and spacious! I was greeted by a friendly and diligent gentleman who seemed to take care of everything out front, from taking orders to serving, bussing, and cashiering. I heard a lady in the back, who was probably the one cooking up all the amazing food. I was very impressed with the menu. It was extensive with all the usual Vietnamese restaurant offerings...pho, vermicelli, rice dishes, spring rolls, etc. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few speciality dishes that we usually only get with home-cooked family meals. I ordered the frog legs sautéed with butter from the appetizer menu for that very reason. I was most thrilled to see they also offered one of my all time favorite dishes, Bun Cha Ha Noi. Not only is this seldomly found in typical Vietnamese restaurants, but it was THE featured special entree on their menu, listed as "must try!" So, tried I did and glad I did. I felt like I was eating at home in my mom's kitchen. The chargrilled pork slices and pork meatball patties were bathed in a sea of warm savory fish sauce mix, accented with decoratively cut pickled daikon and carrots. The dish included an abundance of vermicelli and loads of fresh greens and herbs (green lettuce, perilla, lang basil, mint). Well done, Oh My Pho! This place is relatively newly opened. I found it when looking for early morning pho for my sick kid who wanted soup noodles for breakfast. They were open before 11am so that was what made me stop in. I ordered their pho with brisket and then a pho special with an order of egg rolls. The owners are very friendly and nice. The food was a tad in the salty side, and the meats weren't of the highest quality, but has everything you'd want in terms of menu options. The spring rolls are a must have, that had a satisfying crunch. Why this earns a 3/5 aside from the food, is the local ambiance. the location is next to an Eagles bar, and on the weekends may kill your ambiance as their karaoke or live band music is heard clearly at this restaurant. The price will run you from $14-$20 dollars for a meal. which is a little high for pho; compared to some places that give $8-$15. overall I was satisfied with the food, and may try it again for the spare rib pho. I couldn't eat the leftovers because of the salt tend to be too salty, so don't expect to be saving some for later. read more

I took a leap of faith and tried someplace with no reviews on Yelp. Why not. My take? Oh My Pho is decent but not a destination restaurant. That said, they are a family op that is just starting out. I imagine this is 1.0 and that they will get better as time passes. Food: I had Vietnamese iced coffee, fried tofu, and pho (P4). -The coffee was delicious. -The tofu appetizer was nuggets with a mayo-based slightly spicy sauce. More like a snack shop than a restaurant, but not bad. -The pho was also okay but not mind blowing. The broth was flavorful but light. I prefer a richer broth, but that is preference, not an indicator of quality. The filet was tasty and tender. It appeared to have been cooked outside the broth and then added back in for serving, as it was cut pretty thick. Ambiance: Clean with simple decor. There is a stage in one corner with lights, which looks like it is for maybe karaoke? There are also some glitzy led lights that suggest this place could close the blinds and transform into a low key nightclub. Service: wonderful, friendly and quick. Pay at the counter. Spacious free parking lot in the back. You can enter from the front if you street parked or the back if you're parked in the back parking lot. As I entered the back door, I felt like I was entering someone's home. The place is very low key. The building is older. New owners since about ten months ago. The staff is very nice and helpful. Food comes out pretty quickly. There's a Yelp check in with 5% off which we forgot to use, next time! Bun bo hue ($15.50) was very good, however it did not have coagulated blood and banana blossoms which I love. They had French fries ($7), which is unusual but great option if you have kids or craving for yourself. The rice bbq pork, fried egg fish was good- the egg cake was very good. They also offer vegetarian options. We ordered beef ball pho and pho tai with meat on the side and another with meat inside regular. We also ordered a side of more meat, more noodles and vinegar onions. Pho portion size is on the lesser side. The iced Vietnamese coffee was VERY sweet but strong and good. They served us complimentary Vietnamese jelly desserts, which was nice. Update! The next day I had to remove 2 stars because I tried to warm up the food since I hate wasting and the beef was already going bad. I ordered it yesterday and ended up just throwing it away - so very disappointing Whoever said this was authentic Vietnamese food is on drugs. I was very excited to order a bunch of things after reading all the great reviews. I ordered soup noodles, macaroni and shaken beef, crispy fried rice and eggrolls. The eggrolls had barely any filling and were served with some sort of sweet and sour sauce and not fish sauce. The shaken beef was more like a Chinese stir fry or Mongolian beef. It had a very sweet gravy like sauce, and broccoli in it but was mostly sauce and bell peppers. They also ran out of the macaroni so they just gave me white rice with it. Everything was way too sweet, everything. The crispy fried rice was edible after I added a bunch of soy sauce and sriracha to it. The soup was just okay. I would never call this authentic Vietnamese food and would not be ordering again. read more
