Old Saigon Vietnamese Bistro is located in the beautiful and peaceful upscale neighborhood of Steiner Ranch. I've been there a few times for both lunch and dinner with friends and family, and it is well worth the price. The restaurant is cozy, and the service is excellent. I've tried the steak and brisket pho as well as the shaken beef wok, and both were outstanding. Next time, I plan to try the duck curry. Decent Vietnamese food but not traditional but worth a try. We order banh mi with grilled pork with spring roll. The banh mi doesn't come with traditional mayo or pickled veggies, instead it comes with pan fried peppers and onions. It's kinda more like a Philly cheesesteak minus the cheese. The best part of the meal was the fries! The spring roll was really good the meat had a Smokey flavor to it. I highly recommend the spring roll. We also ordered a brisket pho the broth is so good, noodles a bit hard and not so fresh. Overall good but giving me lemons instead of limes with my pho should be a crime. The service was quick and friendly. And the ambiance is filled with a ridiculous amount of alcohol! read more

I recently tried Old Saigon Vietnamese Bistro on a beautiful, chilly morning and went there for lunch with a friend. They offer a lunch menu that includes one spring roll and a choice of one main course for $18. While I found it a bit pricey, the food was delicious and well prepared. We ordered the veggie spring roll and veg pho, both of which were flavorful and satisfying. I was especially happy to see that they have many good vegetarian options, which is not always easy to find. Amazing! Family owned operated, authentic! I've been to Vietnam, and I frequent Vietnamese restaurants in the states often - this hits the bar. Get the grandmas chili oil and add it to anything, it's hot but the flavor is incredible. read more

Really good Vietnamese food. Their rare beef pho had amazing broth and good noodles. We also really enjoyed the beef curry which had a good amount of meat, veggies, and some good rice. I especially liked that it had a curry taste but wasn't spicy at all. Agree with other reviews that the bahn mi was more like a Philly cheese steak but the fries were good. The fried rice was ok, but nothing to write home about. We tried the combination shrimp and chicken. Both meats were good. The crème brûlée was confusing. We got a sample on a spoon and tried the real thing which was more spoon samples with some mint. Tasty but not what we were expecting. Vietnamese iced coffee had some good taste, I just wish there was more of it. The red Thai tea was on the sweet side. The restaurant is nice and quiet and service was quick. We'll be back to try more of the menu and to get more pho and curry. All in all a must try. read more

I love this place because the staff is so friendly. Everyone greeted us when we walked in and the hostess seemed interested in asking about our day. For dinner we had their fried egg rolls and the shaken beef, which seems to be one of their specialties. It was very flavorful and delicious! Probably the best Vietnamese food we've ever had! My wife and I went in for dinner tonight and were incredibly impressed with both the atmosphere and the food. We got shrimp spring rolls for an appetizer and they were delicious! For our meals, my wife ordered the shrimp vermicelli and I ordered the shaken chicken wok. From the moment the food hit our mouths, we were in heaven! The sauce on the shaken chicken wok was smokey with a slight sweet taste. My wife mentioned this is probably the best vermicelli she's ever had even outside of New York City. Afterwards, we were offered their crème brûlée. To say it instantly melted in our mouths would be an understatement. It was perfectly cooked with a slight crunchy glaze. The atmosphere inside was calming and beautiful. Soft, soothing music accompanied the stunning visuals of each of the hand, painted murals. Don't forget to check out the outside koi pond! I simply cannot express how amazing Old Saigon is! Family owned and they definitely thought of everything from ambiance to fresh flavorful food! Loved the plants, fish tank and calm background music. Easy place for conversation, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. They went out of their way for our peanut allergy and surprised us with a taste of their creme brûlée. Literally the best waitress/server we have ever had. This family-run restaurant has clean food, adheres to strict allergen practices (I am Celiac and my partner has a soy allergy), are knowledgeable, respectful, have a great sense of humor, are traditionally dressed, and delightful to engage with. They even let us stay late to eat on their lovely porch filled with beautiful plants, and brought water to my dog. We have eaten here a few times (usually dinner but lunch once) and each time our food has been fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere (you'd never know the space was once the home of Lakeside Pizza....they did a beautiful job on the renovation) and service are lovely and friendly too.
