Update : My ladies and I went here with a taste for some pasta and I think out of the 3 of us, the table overall could only offer an "ok" review. Firstly, I believe it's been roughly 2-years since I've visited this location and from my last review, the service had not changed - my server was polite, gave us some good recomendations throughout the night, gave us what we asked for in a timely fashion, and easily served other tables. Loved that. Hooooowever, let's start outside. I'm not sure when and why Olive Garden moved and/or added their to-go orders to the front on the building but, it was excessive. Covid possibly, but it was so excessive that it was a topic of discussion between my girls and I not only when arriving but leaving the restaurant because of the amount of vacancies but customers paying to WALK-in are nearly parking in the back of the restaurant. AND to point out, this night that we went (a Friday night), we did in fact.. park in the back, to walk inside to be seated. Now back to the food. We tried both the chicken & gnocchi and the zuppa toscona soup, neither would I order again. Food was delicious and our waitress was outstanding, very attentive and friendly. We were also warmly greeted when we arrived. Unfortunately, I noticed mouse traps in the ladies' restroom, which was unsettling and affected my appetite. I also saw a staff member adjust her hair while wearing gloves and then continue working with the same gloves, which raised hygiene concerns. Treated self with a well deserved break from cooking and use a gift card. I purchased the shrimp scampi and shrimp friattata. The dish and appetizer were delicious, however the complimentary salad and bread were less to be desired. Salad seem to have been old with a lot of brown lettuce and bitter pieces of lettuce and the bread which supposedly be garlic bread sticks had no garlic butter on them. You can definitely taste however processed they are and a few bites and in the trash can it went. This visit was due to a gift card received from the holiday. Dear Olive Garden Management Team, I wanted to take a moment to recognize an exceptional young lady, Emani, who served my mom and me last Saturday at your Bowie location. After a long morning of working we just wanted to enjoy lunch. From the moment she greeted us, Imani was warm, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable while we decided on our meals. Despite the bar getting busy, she kept her professionalism and grace, even after a rude customer tried to intimidate her. My mom myself and four other young ladies definitely chimed in take up for her. Emani stood up for herself with respect and poise, and she continued to serve us with a smile once she regrouped. Her dedication truly stood out, and the same goes for Kevin, the manager, who was also supportive and reassuring. You can tell he's an amazing manager and actually listens before assuming the worker is wrong. He was definitely appreciated. Greeted immediately at lunchtime by hostess with beautiful smile. Escorted to table by Ann who was very pleasant and welcoming. She noticed the table had dishes, so she quickly wiped it down and set place settings. Server was nice and attentive. We started with sangria and iced tea - both were delicious! We got the never ending soup, salad, bread - you will get full off of that quickly but very tasty. We had the lasagna and the shrimp scampi lunch portions. I was in town for a vacation and ordered from here on a Sunday evening. The parking lot was super packed, but I understand weekends can be busy. My To Go order took forever to come. And I was so looking forward to the breadsticks that came with my meal, but was highly disappointed. The bread had a cushion texture and tasted awful. She consistently checked on our table, refilled drinks on time without being asked, she made suggestions and accommodations. She was definitely top notch customer service. I got the new Steak & Shrimp Calabrian Bucatini pasta! And moms got the new Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara. Mine wasn't saucy just spices could use some salt and pepper far as the noodles, otherwise it was niiice chunks of thick tender steak pieces and tasty nice sized shrimps!.. Mom enjoyed her food but she thinks next time she'll just get chicken and it'll still be delicious. This is the best experience I can remember having at an Olive garden and quite some time. I feel like it was mostly because of our server Janae (sp) who took awesome care of my sons and I. I was a little disheartened when she informed me they were having problems with their gas line so I couldn't order their new Frito Misto. That might have been okay because I am so partial to a spot in Little Italy. We started off with the chicken gnocchi, tuscano, and minestrone soup with breadsticks. Followed by salad that is always the best for some reason. My sons love joking with people and she stayed right and step with them the whole time lol The restaurant wasn't too packed and seemed bigger than the other Olive Gardens I have been before. Our server was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. My food is very tasty even though I didn't get to finish all of it. I did take a sample of one of my son's tortellini and piece of chicken and that was really good. Okay, I hadn't been to Olive Garden in a while but this Olive Garden was great! The food was tasty, we had fast service and my sister and I shared some sangria! Super yummy! I hadn't been to this Olive Garden in over a decade and they exceeded my expectations. I would not recommend this place at all. I am a waitress myself and I was shocked when I came here. First, we sat waiting for our server for 10 minutes, then they took our drinks and order and told us the food would be about 35 mins. It took 10 mins for our drinks to even get to the table. Then all of a sudden another 10 minutes pass and ALL our food came out. Salad, soup and dinners. All of our dirty dishes sat on our table until we left and our waiter came over to us a total of 4 times total only to take our order, give us our food and our check. It just seemed so slow and nonchalant in a bad way inside and I just wouldn't recommend this place for someone to go to. Last night (11/23/24) approximately 18 family members gathered together at Olive Garden at Bowie Towne Center to celebrate my Aunt's 89th birthday. (It's her favorite restaurant and was her choice location). 4 relatives from WV even came to celebrate with her. We called several days in advance to check on the policy for reservations but was told that they don't accept reservations. So yesterday, Saturday, November 23rd my brother-in-law showed up at 3:20 to put our name down as we were sure that we would have to wait. Our party was expected to arrive at 4:00 pm. Most of the party was present along with the birthday lady by 4:00 and we occupied the waiting area. Approximately 15 minutes later a party of about 11 (Hispanic) came in and they were seated within 15 minutes. Around 4:45 another Hispanic party (wedding party) arrived (photographer, flower girl bride with white gown) with a party of roughly 16-20 was seated within 10 minutes. That's when family members asked questions what was going on only to find out that where they were supposed to seat us is where the wedding party was seated and they had "Called Ahead". The hostess on duty was Hispanic as well. My 90 year old mother -in-law ( she can be very vocal) stated are you all continuing to overlook us on purpose? What is going on?My brother in-law explained that he checked in at 3:20 and had been waiting patiently along with our party however this was unacceptable. A rude tall, white male, manager came out and started talking disrespectfully to both my in-laws (mom and brother). He told my mother in-law in a disrespectful manner, that she didn't need eat there and could go someplace else if she didn't like what was happening there. his comment was Disrespectful, unprofessional and unacceptable. My family member told him he was inappropriate, unprofessional and wrong. So the manager told my family member to leave the establishment. The manager proceeded to the computer and cancelled us on the wait list. Then went to the kitchen. Another manager arrived on scene and she apologized profusely for how he spoke to us, but my Aunt still wanted to eat there. The new Manager, Jessica, said she would look into it and fix us a table. However, my nephew was checking Nextdoor at Longhorn to check their availability. Although, Manager Jessica, claimed that she was working things out, (I just wanted to do whatever Aunt Betty wanted) she never appeared again. She probably went into hiding. Promised the world with no intention of delivering anything. The group of 18 that showed up will no longer patronize this establishment again. Management shortchanged their waiters and waitresses because of the tips they missed out on and the laughs we would have shared. But we refuse to spend our money in a place that would be so disrespectful to a 90 year old lady. read more

Holy cow... The OG used to be an experience. The OG now is dusty, musty, and relatively empty. Look I get that it's the Olive Garden and you are not gonna get top shelf service or atmosphere, but there was a point you could count on the food and booze right? We recently went at the request of my teenage son, we tried to talk him out of it but the heart wants what the heart wants. It was a Wednesday, the place maybe had 5 people in it, it was not particularly clean, the salad and breadsticks were amazing as usual. We ordered the never ending pasta bowl and my son ordered fettuccine with shrimp. 5 minutes after eating a shrimp my son broke out in a sweat and said his stomach hurt. Can't go wrong with classic Olive Garden. Was in the mood for some inexpensive, Italian cuisine so we landed here. I wanted to try that new lasagna dip with chips and it was yummy! You can definitely tell the chips were homemade. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan. And of course with every OG meal, salad and breadsticks come with it prior. I tried the Italian Margarita which came with a shot of Jose Cuervo, but it wasn't needed. I enjoyed the margarita with out it. Service was fine, our waiter checked on us quite a bit. Went to Olive Garden for the first time in over a decade. I had the lunch version of chicken parmigiana with spaghetti plus salad. I limited myself to just one breadstick. I'm very proud of myself. My friends had the same. We love chicken parmigiana. Two of my group enjoyed the soup. Minestrone and chicken and gnocchi respectively. I accompanied my meal with a lemonade. Finally, I was pleased to see staff wearing masks. The meal was great. Service was very nice. Lunch prices reasonable. Nice to see that Olive Garden is still a great place to go. read more

I love Olive Garden for a few reasons. The pasta, the salad and the bread all make the trip worth wild. Also, the mint chocolate at the end! This was my first time at this location. Overall, I had a great experience. Our waitress was amazing. I really wish I remembered her name. She offered us a bottle of wine ($15 I think). She recommended the confetti and after we tasted it, we realized she knew what she was talking about. It was really sweet and tasty for us armature wine drinkers. She was on top of her game. The only thing she didn't offer was the mint chocolate. I wish she had. As we were leaving, I remembered I didn't get any and asked one of the ladies at the front door (not the hostess that was sitting people). She barely acknowledged us and proceeded to say they didn't have any but corrected herself and told me I had to "get them from my waiter." So we proceeded to walk back through the restaurant to locate our waiter and once again, she delivered. Again, overall I had a great trip and great service but being dismissed so quickly over chocolate rubbed me the wrong way. It's not what you say but how you say it. I'm upgrading my review of Olive Garden because we recently had a very pleasant experience there. We were supposed to meet friends in Alexandria but because of serious flooding there we changed our meeting place to Olive Garden as this location was was easy access for everyone. Part of our good experience was our waiter, Alexis I believe was his name. He was perfect, friendly, but not obnoxiously so. And he was good. When I heard they were setting up a table for 12 behind us and he was their waiter I was concerned we would get lost in the crowd. But no worries. We continued to get wonderful service. Another plus is we were in a smaller room with a gas fireplace and away from the very noisy bar. Rich and I both ordered the soup and salad. There were six of us so our waiter brought two large bowls of salad. I love olives but one of our friends doesn't but we got a nice generous serving of olives in a separate bowl--perfect. I had the minestrone soup and it was delicious. Rich broth with plenty of vegetables. So good. Rich had a creamy kale and sausage soup. He said the broth was tasty and there was plenty of potatoes and kale, he just wished there was more sausage. Two of the other four at our table had lasagna, one had chicken parmigiana and one had spaghetti with marina sauce. Everyone enjoyed their food and I must say I was a little jealous when I saw those cheesy, delicious plates of food coming out. When we changed our plans to go to the Olive Garden I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was busy, but we were early so not too long a wait. And you can put your name on the wait-list on-line if it's a busy time. And as an added bonus, it was the Town Center's Halloween celebration so it was fun seeing all the cute little ones in costume after trick-or-treating at nearby businesses. read more

May2023: 3: I visited this location with my family members. It was conveniently at the center of quite a bit of traffic and congestion for this area. I noticed that this location had several available handicap parking spaces in the front of the restaurant. There were additional general parking spaces available adjacent to this handicap parking area. We Entered the restaurant and we were seated fairly quickly. Apparently, there was an issue in the preparation of the soup, which could not be served in a timely manner. Of course the server never came over to advise us that this was an issue after waiting almost 15 or 20 minutes at the table for the refill on the soup. I assumed they put us there because it was just opening and that didint have many servers available. He got his salad in a reasonable amount of time but I had to remind our waitress that I hadn't gotten my soup yet after we finally received our entrees. Overall, food wasn't worth the terribly long wait. If you can go anywhere else please do. We we're given one complementary cheesecake to-go but it was still frozen by the time we got home. This location has always provided great food and service. Service has been friendly and helpful. Food portions are not large, but are always high quality, satisfying, and filling. They do provide complimentary fresh bread, and we often get full just eating that so we have leftovers to go. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
