Very solid casual breakfast/lunch place. Been wanting to try for awhile and we finally stopped in around 11am on a Sunday. It was busy but line moved quick. We got the peach danish, breakfast burrito and turkey club. Dare I say the turkey club was our favorite? The milk bread and ingredients were so fresh and yummy. Burrito was ok - not huge on chorizo & pastry was solid. We also got a cold brew which we enjoyed!

What a cute little pick me up spot! I while I was doing my morning stroll and decided to walk in, and I'm glad I did! The vibes are so chill and I feel like you can come here and study and have a good thing to munch on and a good drink. I got a sugar free vanilla matcha and it was pretty darn good, I think next time I'll try their strawberry matcha and get something to eat! The workers were so sweet and I feel like they were all competing to see who could say good morning first. Very sweet and warm welcome.

We ordered some food for takeout, and it was amazing for traveling 20 minutes. I'd be super excited to see what it tasted like served fresh. Flavor profiles were deep and robust, the portions were generous, and the food was high quality. The staff even allowed us to try a couple of their homemade bakery items. I can understand why this place always has a line out the door!

Breakfast burrito = BOMB! And the salsa with the burrito was also BOMB! Banana bread latte was okay for me but I'd love to try more of their coffees. Also the service was great! Very friendly people in the morning. I was only in and out for my breakfast so I did not get to experience much of the ambiance. I would like to go to eat there one of these days.

Slightly let down. I had been wanting to try this spot for a while. There was a bit of a wait and a line to order that stayed pretty constant the whole time we were there. The hostess was friendly and answered all my questions. The coffee itself was decent, but I didn't really pick up on the banana or brown sugar flavors. The banana bread was good but not memorable. My breakfast burrito was really good and I would recommend trying it. It had a slight spice that I really enjoyed. My fiancé got the biscuit breakfast sandwich, which was not great. The biscuit was dry and lacked flavor. Cute restaurant, but it fell a bit short for me.

My friend and I came for brunch Sunday morning and it was pretty busy. We waited in line to order at the counter and shared a table with 2 other nice customers as the seating was full. I got the cast iron baked egg and it was a solid dish, I liked that it was a bit different from a standard brunch offering. It's pretty minimalistic inside and there's a patio at the back but I didn't go out there since it was hot out.

Get the pork chile verde (Tiernan made the recommendation and it was perfect), quiche with ham, chive and Gruyère cheese, the blueberry and lemon loaf (I didn't taste the lemon which was great for me) and the strawberry matcha hot substitute with oat milk. Everything was perfect! I did have to add a little extra strawberry syrup to the matcha just to amp the strawberry notes (thanks Izzy). The service was excellent and the ambiance was cute for both indoor and outdoor seating options. I sat at the high top facing the street and it was nice. Definitely going back when I am back in town. Check them out and enjoy!

What an amazing spot! We highly recommend trying it if you haven't. Concept: stand in line, order, seat yourselves. There is seating in the backyard which is very cute and shaded. We tried: brown sugar iced espresso 9.5/10 wish it was more coffee involved. Grapefruit tonic espresso 9/10 My husband loved it. Sunny burrito 10/10 The green salsa that comes with it is spicy but delicious Biscuit & Gracy with an egg added 8/10 Very flavorful but wish the plate was a flat one to where the egg yoke wouldn't mix with the gravy. Tres leches cake 10/10 It was perfectly moist not overly wet with the milk. (HUGE shoutout to Aisha, she found us the last piece of it) Cinammon Roll 8/10 The outside was crispy and the inside was moist. The only thing I will say that because it's so busy, we had to park across the street and it does take sometime for you to get your food. The food was hot when it got to us so it was literally only because of how busy they are. Overall, we are looking forward to coming back next time we're in AZ.

Small indoor seating but fans and misters outside. Went mid morning on a Friday and it was popping. Egg skillet was great flavors but the egg was overcooked. Carrot cake didn't make it for a photo (clearly we were hungry for our breakfast appetizer) - it was ok but kind of dry. 2 egg breakfast looks sad on the photo but it's what we ordered. Croissant was decent but not the best - at least it wasn't par baked food distributor style so I'll take it.

First time trying Ollie vaugh's and honestly, this place will be one of my go to spots and also a place where I can recommend everybody to try out. It is truly amazing. By far, one of the best turkey clubs I have ever tried. I'm honestly rating this sandwich 9.5/10! And also to by far one of the best lattes, I've tried I'm obsessed with vanilla and honey lattes and this one just seems to be perfected. They offer a ton of pastries, which are also really good! They also have probably one of the best tasting biscuits and gravy(I couldn't take a pic. It was too good.) They offer indoor seating and outdoor patio space. The music is also a vibe The staff here is really friendly!! If you're in town check this place out it won't disappoint!

How has it taken me so long to visit this place!??? Every time I come across it the reviews are so good I think I have to go, and yet, I only just did this last weekend and WOW. Definitely lives up to the reviews. This is absolutely a gem. There is parking to the right (if you're facing the building) and parking across the street. The parking to the left has tow signs and Ollie Vaughn's has a very helpful sign out front saying yes those businesses tow even when they are closed! Sooo I moved my car. There was a line of about 10-12 people but as others note, it moves pretty fast! As you come up to the pastry case, you're almost there, and standing there is the perfect time to pick some sort of sweet, which you absolutely should. Then you order and get a number sign and go find a table. If there's a big table and room, join some folks. We got the lemon cake and it came out first and made a great appetizer. Hey, it's fruit! Very moist and perfect sweetness level. My friend said it went great with tea -- of which they have a pretty large selection. Even though you order at front, servers do bring water out and your food and clear plates. They seem very on top of things! We both got the cast iron baked egg which was FANTASTIC and despite our hunger neither of us could finish. It's a lot and very rich. Ok and we had cake first. But it's soo good. I especially loved the mushrooms in it. It comes with plenty of delicious toasted "good bread" (I don't know what kind specifically but like good crusty bakery bread) for dipping in all the sauciness and yolk. All the food around looked delicious, even the breakfast sandwich looked amazing and I usually think that's a boring. Theirs doesn't look boring at all, and the quiches looked so good! I will definitely be back.

Stopped here in a small time crunch while in the area for two nights. Upon putting this on our list of breakfast options, I looked at their menu, which of course was changed when we came here. Wasn't the worst thing but I would have liked to have the sandwich or burrito. Instead we got pastries and I an apple juice. The ham and cheese croissant was very good - tasted great and for its size had a nice filling of meat and cheese. The almond croissant was also very good and flaky while still being fresh. The main issue though was the timeliness of service. They took way too long for some pastries and a quiche. The quiche took forever. Would try it - hope the regular menu is back then

The ambiance was super chill, with great music that made the whole place feel relaxed and inviting. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Ordering is simple--you place your order at the counter, choose wherever you'd like to sit, and they bring the food out to you. I went with the Sunny Burrito, and it did not disappoint. It was packed with hashbrowns, chorizo, and a perfectly runny egg that tied everything together. Every bite was flavorful, and it was definitely filling. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily come back to try more of the menu. Thumbs up.

Really love this place it's right by the hospital so I can go hang out there while waiting for a case to start or grab a bite before heading home from work. I get the tuna salad sandwich which is pretty tasty, comes with chips, or the brown sugar shaken espresso. I gave it 4/5 because 1. Parking sucks, 2. There barely any space to wait for your food if you're doing take out, 3. Coffee drinks take forever read more

Run down & dirty most of the time, rude ownership and cooks, car risks getting towed in their gravel lot. Way better places in Phoenix, like FaMe & Vovomeena. Even Lux has more impressive food and seating. read more

FIrst of all, I certainly didn't expect an Artsy place to survive this in this neighborhood where the standards and quality of good is as good as elite cafes in Scottsdale or any California resort cities. I've ordered Quiche, Key Lime Pie, and Lox breakfast sandwich with highly selective tomatoes that looked like fresh out of the AJ Fine Food. The packages was prepared by the owner herself with my name on each of the order and have her personally delivered to me. She probably sensing that I could be one who can showcase her business. As a former restaurant owner myself, she has done everything right with enough staffs and customers to keep the place vibrant and lively. It is a destination that should be showcased in any global culinary magazine. Heavenly place. read more

Followed their IG and finally tried this spot. Unfortunately I am not a fan. Asked for suggestions from the man at the register. It was like he didn't understand the question. Tried again describing in more detail where my taste was going and got no help. Eeeeeekkk that's a huge miss for me. Got a couple pastries and espresso drinks. Pastries were meh. Underwhelming. My espresso drink was bad. The barista was excellent though and remade it with some adjustments. Much better. Inside is cute, lots of tables inside and out. Poor service and sub par food and drink however, means we won't be going back. read more

Finally tried Ollie Vaughn's this past weekend! I've heard so much about it and was excited to give it a taste myself. The ambiance is cool, with fun (local?) art on the walls, an open concept kitchen, and comfortable seating that wraps around the kitchen/counter area. The back patio is beautiful -- the seating set apart from citrus trees that probably fuel the colorful pastry case. I ordered a traditional macchiato, and my sister and I shared a lemon bar and the veggie breakfast sandwich. The coffee was good, and the lemon bar was divine - the end-all, be-all of lemon bars. The breakfast sandwich was just okay - it was missing salt, or perhaps a nice aioli or more flavorful cheese. I added some hot sauce -- Ollie Vaughn's offers a wide selection -- which helped. I picked up a slice of cranberry orange tart on my way out, which was just as good (if not better) than the lemon bar. They've really nailed the shortbread crust, and the cranberry added a nice, subtle bitterness to help balance the sweetness. I'm excited to come back and try more of the menu (especially more fruit custard tarts!). read more

The food, pastries, and coffee were so good! They make all their baked goods in house daily, the service was fast and informative, it's quite small and parking is a little bit difficult but there's public parking right across the street, I would absolutely make the drive to come again. read more

If I could rate the food alone it would be 5 stars. Only problem I have with places like these (seen this in Portland) is they have you order your food, pay the bill and ask for Tip all at the same time. Naturally, at a sit-down place I tip. So not knowing how the service will go, I placed a 15% tip at checkout. Well, before we go sit down the gentleman who took our order made sure to tell us our drinks will be placed at the bar when he's done. "No problem, we'll wait." We get our drinks and sit outside. Nice area but lots of flys. No big deal. An employee (can't be a waiter or server) brings our food out and kindly lets us know where the spoons, forks and condiments are. So i go back inside and help myself. There is even a sign out back asking customers to take their dishes and trash inside and place them in the dish tubs/trash can. I have no problem with the self-service food industry but don't ask for a tip before we have our experience. We do not tip for one to do their job. We tip for service and hospitality. Maybe place a tip jar for the barista? We ordered a lot of food and placed an appropriate tip for absolutely nothing. Felt robbed. read more

Hip spot off the street, unassuming storefront but suuper popular based off the line waiting outside during brunch. Chill vibes with r&b music flowing through the speakers. Enticing pastries through the glass counter.i had my eye on the dirty chai cake but will save it for another time. I ordered the cast iron baked egg. Dish presentation is amusing with the mini cast iron. Creamy and decadent flavor with poached eggs, beech mushrooms, and roasted tomatoes along with crunchy country loaf slices. Wow. What a find. This place is an awesome cafe and low key brunch spot. The sign in the bathroom wasn't wrong. The bagel and lox's are fantastic. Bagel was perfectly cooked and came with capers and red onion. A classic. Also had a bacon, medium egg, Carmelized onions, avacado, on a torta roll. Perfection. The most amazing sandwich. Hit the spot after hiking Mormon trail at south mountain. The cold brew coffee was also strong and black We ended with the pecan pie bar and it was awesome!! They also have an outdoor patio. I believed no restaurant could serve Biscuits & Gravy better than my own but Ollie Vaughn's proved me wrong. Very flavorful and biscuit was best I have had, moist and tasty. Update: We also brought home German Chocolate cake, Croissant, and berry cheeses cake. All excellent, perhaps best cheesecake and German Chocolate we have ever eaten. Outstanding. read more

Ambiance is perfect with patio in the back that's covered and dog friendly!! Lots of community style seating. Loved this quaint coffee shop! After a friend recommended it, we knew we had to try it. They have homemade baked goods which we had to sample. An iced cinnamon bun for me and the pumpkin brownie for hubby. The brownie was too cold for my tastes. Hubby was fine with it. My cinnamon bun was large and I was glad to not have to share it. It was warmed up and served perfectly. Coffee was great with mine being a cappuccino. Hubby had his little Italian cup with pinkie in air as he sipped. Outside dog friendly patio. Cool interior. They also do breakfast and lunch. A must try for any coffee lovers out there read more

The food was pretty good! Service was amazing. The parking was really weird, they told us to park somewhere else just cause other businesses were towing cars, which is an inconvenience for this restaurant. Would recommend taking spicer sauce if you like spicy in your food. The tea was bitter but able to add sugar to your taste. The cookie was perfect. They misplaced my food so there was a bit of a wait but brought it out fast when I brought it up to their attention. read more

This place is right in my neighborhood and I can't help but to give them all my money whenever I stop in. They have a pastry case in the front that just defies all logic! Oversized cakes, tarts, bars, pies, and so much more. I think the menu changes for breakfast but if you have the chance, eat in the restaurant; it's well worth it. I highly recommend the Oatmeal Cream Pie and the Turkey Sandwich! Best service you can find and the kitchen is open so you can see all the hard work that goes into your food. Ollie Vaughn's is undoubtedly a staple that I pray stays around for generations to come! read more

Unfortunately owner or servers do not warn you of the parking situation. PARKING west of Ollie Vaughn's IS ALL PRIVATE!!! TOWING happens a lot! There is a small parking lot east, 3 doors down. Also plenty of parking on the south side of McDowell Rd. Decent food. Sandwiches, depending on which you get, can be amazing (the Cuban & Grilled Cheese used to be amazing.) or others I find average made at home taste. Breakfast used to me amazing. Haven't gone back for quite awhile. Servers are usually nice. Unfortunately owner or servers do not warn you of the parking situation. Parking west, IS ALL PRIVATE and owners are towing. read more

Great food! The Cuban sandwich was great and so was the blueberry almond croissant. Terrible music and with expletives--management should be told not everybody likes cuss words and vulgar language when going out into public places!! This isn't a late night bar!! read more

This cafe is pretty close to work so I decided to try it one day for a quick bite during my late lunch hour, around 2 pm. I tried ordering a couple of different things, including one of their soups and a sandwich, but by this time, they already ran out. So I had to settle on a different sandwich and an iced tea. My friend and I's order took a while to come out even though we both just ordered simple sandwiches (the same exact kind) - about 25 minutes? For a cafe, and for it not being on rush hour, I thought this wait time was pretty outrageous. The food was mediocre and I didn't find anything special with the drink. Was just assaulted outside by a staff member at my car for money. Called an order in, arrived on time for order to be ready. Was told to go to the back of the line. Waited 20 minutes with no movement in line while food sat there. got the attention of a separate staff who gave me the bag and said I was good to go sorry for the wait, I thought I was fine as directed by staff. Then the first staff comes to my car yelling at me that i'm stealing, takes my photo and continued to yell at me. I was so clearly not aware I was doing something wrong I opened my car door and asked what's going on. If I was trying to steal why would I stop?? i was shaking scared asking to please stop yelling at me I am not trying to steal that the staff gave it to me and said it was okay to go. Get your staff under control. If i wasn't scared for my physical well being to the point i basically gave up cash to get through it, I would have called the cops. I advise anyone against supporting this business. One staff says go another assaults me for more than the value of the food in the first place. Stopped by this cozy little spot and was so glad I did--mostly. First, let's talk about the chorizo burrito: absolutely fantastic. Packed with flavor, just the right amount of spice, the eggs were great, and the crunchy hash browns were the best part for me. The portion was generous too, which I appreciated since we shared. Then came the coffee cake, and wow--hands down one of the best I've had. Moist, buttery, with that perfect crumbly topping. I'd come back for that alone. The only miss was the cappuccino. The espresso had a bitter, almost burnt taste that overpowered everything else. I usually love a strong coffee, but this tasted more like someone left the shot in the machine too long. All in all, I'd absolutely return for the food and pastries--they're knocking it out of the park there. I'll just skip the cappuccino next time and grab one somewhere else. read more

Forgive the lack of photos - we were too eager to taste everything! My wife's spicy Paloma was a revelation: perfectly balanced, wonderfully refreshing, and finished with a delightful, lingering warmth. We opted to share the biscuits and gravy, and it was a showstopper. Without a doubt, this is the most memorable biscuits and gravy I've had the pleasure of eating in Phoenix in decades. The gravy, rich with Schreiner's sausage, had that quintessential peppery punch that defines a truly great sausage gravy. The biscuit was a masterpiece of home-style baking - dense yet tender, with an impeccable crumb. I had the pleasure of dining at Ollie Vaughn's recently, and I can honestly say it was a fantastic experience. The vibe is cozy yet refined, with a staff that's both friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food? Wow. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about quality and it shows in every bite. The cocktails were also a highlight - creative, well-balanced, and just the right amount of kick. I will say that the prices are on the higher side, so it's definitely more of a splurge. But when you get food this good and service to match, it feels completely justified. My client took me here to eat lunch with 2 other coworkers. 3 of us had the the tuna sandwich and wow it was amazing!!!! It had this jalapeño jelly. It sounds nasty but it was the best tasting jam that I ever had lol. I usually don't like jam at all but this was so good. The tea I got was lavender and I let I didn't like it as much because it was odd bitter taste. My coworker liked it though. The environment was cozy, bright, and comfortable. read more

This place is absolutely amazing and I eat hear about 3x a week. Coming from New York, this is the closest bacon egg & cheese you will get thats priced perfectly and tasted amazing.
