Ordered and food came out fast. Extremely expensive in my opinion for a fast food place. I think for me and my boyfriend it was around $50 and we just got 2 of their regular plates and a soda to share, nothing special. His food was good, mine kinda looked like dog food. I didn't like it. My home town had a Hawaiian bbq place like this but this place trumps the ones I've been to. The atmosphere here is so modern and tropical it's perfect for a Sunday afternoon meal. The food is amazing. We got the bbq and katsu mix. I recommend this dish if it is your first time here because you get a taste of the meats they offer. For the proce you get a huge portion, by boyfriend and I shared the bbq and Katy mix and were very satisfied. The katsu and teriyaki sauces are to die for. They go so well with the meats. I love the macaroni salad they make. It reminds me of the one my mom used to make. We will definitely be coming back here. On a side note, you have to ask for utensils and napkins at the front. Gave this new restaurant a chance to get their "sea legs" and I visited today. The lovely young woman behind the counter was not much help in making a selection. She either did not want to make suggestions or hasn't sampled enough to be authoritative. So left to my own devisees, I selected the most expensive item on the menu, Kalbi Short Ribs. I did so with two thoughts in mind: 1. Being the most expensive item, they certainly would put their best forward. 2. Being "Hawaiian," I hoped they would try to emulate Helen's in Honolulu (a Hawaiian institution having won a James Beard Award) whose Hawaiian short ribs are to die for and maybe the best I have ever had. My rationale was faulty and I was wrong on both counts. The short ribs were nothing like Helens, they had little flavor and seemed as if they were steamed rather than grilled. Slathering them with sauce as I did, didn't help much and the portion (only three ribs) was hardly filling. Sides? The Macaroni Salad, which has received some very nice reviews, was nothing special, as it didn't have much flavor either and was in what seemed to be a thickened mayonnaise. The rice was fine. I only give mediocre or bad reviews after one visit if I do not plan to revisit and I won't be revisiting. read more

I was Surprised, to see a Ono Hawaiian Bbq on this side of town. I had to try it. So..... I ordered the Chicken Combo. It comes with Boneless Bbq Chicken and Chicken Katsu, on a bed of steamed Cabbage & Broccoli. The side items included White Rice & Macaroni Salad. I was in the mood for Ono's Island Fire Chicken. As my Server Adam, was ringing me up, he said it was an extra 50cent for this change. This bring's the total to $11.39 minus Drink. Both meats, had an contrast, that complimented the 2 sides extremely well. There's also 3 different sauces to choose from. What's also nice, about this location is there are High Chairs for toddler's. This location, also has the choice, of an self-serve Soda Machine and a Mini-fridge with various bottled drinks. Ono's menu, also includes: House Made Noodle Soups, Gourmet Salads, Appetizers & Sides, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Seafood and Island Favorites Plate Lunches. I love Hawaiian food and honestly the entree's here are delicious. I'm a big fan of the chicken katsu & kalbi. I often order on Grubhub because of the COVID precautions but only rated them 4/5 stars because when I requested to replace the lettuce with Mac salad, it seems they looked past it. I even said "if necessary" since I wanted the Mac salad either way. I wouldn't have minded any extra charges either. But other than that my order was good. read more

Went here because it was recommended, but also because we were in the area and hungry for something different. The menu is a little limited but because they do things very well! Great portion size for the price. My 10 year old got a little katsu chicken plate and still had enough to take home for lunch the next day. I had the BBQ chicken platter- yum! My S.O. had the fire chicken which was hot but flavorful! The combo just had your plate come with a drink and 3 crab rangoons. Good but not worth $4 extra. Brand new location finally opened here at Spectrum mall. I stopped by this location on my way home from bowling. This location does offer drive thru. As I walked in I was immediately greeted by one of their cashiers, Adam Charles. I opted for the Spam Masubi and 2 scoops traditional Mac salad, to go. Everything was cooked/heated up fresh and only took about 5 mins. Both the cashier and the manager were very friendly and engaging. When I got home, everything was still hot and tasted great. The katsu sauce was nice and tangy with a little kick to it as I would expect it to be since this is a chain. The place has an ample amount of seating and is clean and simply furnished. I would definitely go back as they appear to be open later than most places and perfect for after bowling league. read more

Grand opening was today!!! There was a long line out the door and around two corners but it was only for the grand opening. They have a drive thru. There is awesome food. Restrooms and restaurant are clean. They have a nice modern vibe to it. They had hula dancers and a raffle drawing today. The restrooms are single stalls. I had an awesome time. The food was great! My daughter and i had the kula pork and terryaki chicken. It was the pick two platter. You get two meats and two scoops of rice and a salad. It was really good. read more

Thought I'd try this for the first time on a Friday night, the line moved pretty well, however drive-through is only part of their menu so if you want all the food choices go inside. The customer service was amazing, and I will be going back again. The food was good, shrimp and fish yummy, the macaroni salad was actually really good and the crab puffs were super. My husband really liked the barbecue chicken, and I love the touch of heat in the Katsu sauce. read more

I placed an online order and when I arrived walked in to the restaurant which was not busy. There were two employees filling orders behind the counter and one employee who looked very stoned opening bags just standing there. I stood in front of her for at least eight minutes and she stared at me without asking if she could help. I finally asked who do I speak to for a takeout order and she finally acknowledged me. When I called the red to give my concerns to the manager I was told that they could not tell me the manager's name. I was not a fan of this place. Really the only thing that I did like was the chicken katsu. It was crispy and had good flavor overall. But the BBQ beef completely threw me off. Tasted like it was old, not good. The BBQ chicken was mediocre but it was too fatty. Prices weren't terrible. My plate lunch was almost $11 and you got to mix and match some of the meats. Tried calling in to order since I was cutting it close on time. The friendly staff member then informed me that they don't accept phone orders after 9pm, which is understandable when the establishment closes within the hour. So, I then drove to the drive thru, where I was then told that the fish I wanted to order couldn't be ordered because "it would take too long to cook." Again, trying to be flexible (since clearly the tone of the person taking the order sounded distracted/annoyed), I ordered the the chicken katsu with extra rice, no veggies, and extra katsu sauce. When I pulled up to pay, the cashier repeated the order back, but misinterpreted my 'no veggies' for 'extra macaroni'. At this point, I realize, "shame on me for not saying anything, right?", but being that I've worked within the fast food industry before, I was trying to be patient and understanding. As I'm pulling away from the window, I look through my order and see that they gave me extra teriyaki sauce, instead of the katsu. I then proceed to the front doors of the lobby area, which were locked. Pulled through the drive thru again (because at this point, I'm getting my damn katsu sauce) where there had now been two more vehicles in front. I ask again for katsu sauce through the intercom. My food is cold at this point, and one could understand why I'd be a little perturbed. Yet, I wait patiently for the orders ahead to go through. Once I get up to the window for the second time, the cashier asks, "extra teriyaki sauce?"! LMFAOOOO DUUUUDE! C'mon! I responded, "No, katsu, please." Overall, the staff was distracted and muffed up my order. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were having a long ass day, totally get it, but customer service was definitely lacking. Don't worry though, I'll be back. Hopefully the staff will change my next experience there. read more

Im referring to the store in front of Target in 19th ave in phoenix az. If u come like 9:20pm, they dont allow dine in anymore. Only take out or go drive thru. I know its not yet close coz the chairs are still down but it seems the staff does not like the tables & floors get dirty so they can all rush home. Just wandering if the owners know that the staff refuse to serve dine in after 9pm. If so, put a sign on the door so customers are not deceive or cheated that you force them to go take out when they can still eat dine in. Tried to come several times after 9pm just to see but the staff really wont let me eat anymore after 9pm. I work in a restaurant too. If store is 10am to 10pm, we still accomodate customers who comes in at 9:30pm dine in. Store hours online says until 10pm so why do staff refuse dine in after 9pm?? The katsu could have probably used more flavor in of itself but the sauce that goes with it was wonderful, as well as the teriyaki sauce. I've had better Mac salad, but it wasn't bad. Came here last night to try for the first time and OMG! I have been missing out my whole 30 years of life! This place is so good! I ordered the number 44 which was beef, katsu chicken, and hawaiin chicken i believe and then i also ordered a number 4 chicken teriyaki. They were so good! The kids loved the food! The macaroni is amazing! The steamed cabbage is good too. Everything was good. Absolutely no complaints. The drive thru was pretty fast and the lady at the window was nice. I paid about $21 for both plates and it fed us 3 and we had some leftover. Cant wait to come back. Must try! read more

I just came in to order and the ladies that worked there took my order after they were done chatting with each other. Then when they took my order there were no customer service manners, I observed them do this to every person that walked into the restaurant. To top it off, when the order was done the ladies just yelled out the order number and left your food in the counter so they could go back to chatting with one another. If your looking for fast service and nice team members this is not the place! Placed a phone order and the cashier on the phone was rude and hung up on me before I can speak and ask another question. Arriving to pick up my order (10 minutes after calling it in) and it took an additional 25 minutes. Customers coming in ordering and were getting their food before mine, remember I placed it on the phone. Customers even walked out because no one greeted them or took their order for a good 3-4 minutes. Finally I walked up to the counter, calm and polite. They have totally forgotten about me and my order. While the whole time I was sitting in front of the registers waiting and waiting and no one bothered to ask me "ma'am are you still waiting? You have been sitting here for a while now" that's what I would have done anyways and have experienced from other places! Very disappointing and I will not be coming here again. I just moved from California a couple months ago and this was my second visit. First visit I didn't call ahead and had a to go order for 4 plates and I waited 40 minutes. Been here several times since they opened and I have to tell you the food has been consistently good since the week they opened. We were worried that the quality and or portion size would decline over time, but that has not been the case. Kudos to quality control. Growing up in Hawaii, I am sometimes skeptical about these so called "Hawaiian BBQ" style place popping up on the mainland copying the plate lunch spots found all around the islands. Ono does a solid job of keeping it real. The chicken and beef is well marinated, and the thin sliced teriyaki beef is normally quite tender. The chicken katsu isn't too bad either, usually crisp and not a greasy mess like some places. My only wish would be for it to be pounded thinner and the breading lighter. Bottom line, if you crave local grinds, Ono does the job with friendly employees to boot! read more
