Love this place! The best Hawaiian bbq! I've had their catering service for several of our family events. Always juicy and well seasoned. The macaroni is delicious and I think it's the reason my daughter likes tuna haha! We like that the cabbage is semi cooked and not raw. The rice is always well cooked. They do have siracha sauce but you have to ask for it. The only downside is when they get busy the wait is super long. read more

Great food! It's always so fresh and tastes amazing. I love that it's early as well so many different choices. I always get extra macaroni salad for later! The wait at this place is ridiculous. I'm been waiting 20 minutes for a chicken bowl. Food is decent but not worth the wait. Spending my whole lunch break waiting for a chicken bowl is ridiculous. Of all the Hawaiian BBQ places, ONO is my favorite. Have tried most of their dishes, with the exception of the hamburgers and salads. I agree the prices have gone up from what I remember several years ago, but then most prices have increased since then. I don't consider the pricing an issue for the quality you get. Will agree that the mini meals seem to be getting (or have gotten) smaller than I remember, but all in all, still my top choice for semi-fast food. I will also say that the wait can get into the 20 minute or more if they are particularyly busy (Friday nights). read more

I usually really enjoy a visit to an Ono Hawaiian Bbq. Today the Food as always was great. Staff friendly. But was really shocked when I was refused a fresh coconut, one of Ono Hawaiian Bbq's most heavily promoted summer offerings. There were posters everywhere; in the window, at the register, and also on the tables. To add insult to injury there was a basket of the items at the counter and when the food came there was a coupon for a free one if I spend $10 or more. Can't call it a Hawaiian plate restaurant if there is no Loco Moco on the menu. Was there on Wednesday August 26 for about the 15th time in past couple years. Service is always good. Food always good, except teri beef could be less marbled with fat n gristle. This time restaurant was full I was second in line to order, got my food within 10-12 mins. I like that the cashier checks each meal coming out to insure the order is correct. Got my teri/ katsu chicken combo, w/ 2 scoops mac, 1 scoop rice, more than enough meat. Very good as usual. I lived in Hawaii for a while and there is so many amazing plate lunch places to chose from. As chains go not bad, way better than LnL, Ono compares up there with best ones, just no Loco Moco, so only a 7 out of 10. read more

The food is fantastic here! No complaints in that department. Yes, there is quite a long wait for it being a fast-food place, but I discovered I could call in the order before-hand and just come in and pick it up. I now have their number saved into my phone. It is a bit pricey, but I've found the mini meals to be a great option since I can't finish the regular sized meals and the food doesn't re-heat well. The macaroni is delicious. The chicken is always very tender and the teriyaki sauce is excellent. The service is so-so. They have a few great workers that greet well with a nice smile, but a couple of the employees need to learn the art of putting a smile on and pretending to not hate their job. The store is usually very clean, and the location is prime with great outdoor seating. Overall awesome place that I would recommend to everyone! read more

I love Ono Hawaiian BBQ- however, this location can be disappointing! The lines are long, the service is slow, and the food is noticeably not as good as the other locations. Last time we went to this location, I ordered a mini chicken bowl- something I had ordered at the other locations- but here, I got the combo chicken, rice, and macaroni salad- which I am allergic to! I told them that I didn't order this, and they refused to acknowledge that I ordered a chicken bowl. I gave up without pursuing it but then, after the lady who was reluctant to help had gone into the back, I asked if I could TRADE the chicken combo in for a chicken bowl (what I had ordered!)- not even a refund because they seemed very reluctant to help. The cashier said no, until i persisted and said that I'm allergic to this. Then- still reluctantly- said she could see what she could do. It was a challenge but I finally got what I ordered. I defiantly recommend going to the Mountain location! The staff is friendly, timely, and willing to assist! read more

When I approached the counter the workers saw me coming and turned their backs to me. I raised my voice to get their attention and demanded my money back. No, not ever again! This restaurant lacks the required attitude to keep them in business. The food was decent, but they have extremely slow service, unconcerned attitude, and are completely inefficient. Last night, Wednesday, the restaurant was not crowded, only a couple of people in line. My husband and I placed our orders for two Aloha plates at 7:25 p.m. We were dine-in, so we sat down at a table in the very cold dining room and waited, and waited, until after 25 minutes, my husband went up to the counter to check on our orders. A very unconcerned (and obese) lady told him rudely that they weren't boxed up yet. I had noticed some Styrofoam containers had been sitting on the counter near the cooks for about seven minutes with no attempt to call numbers or deliver them. One of them was ours! At 7:55 p.m., our number was finally called, precisely 30 minutes after placing our order on an average night. After a long drive home, since we do not live in the area, I decided to register a complaint to corporate headquarters. We will never visit any Ono Hawaiian BBQ restaurant again, ever. I need my fix of Ono!!! I went to UCR so my roommates and I would always hit up the Ono in Moreno Valley. Living in the La Verne area for about 5 months, I've been dying to get some the delicious hawaiian bbq that I longed for. The food quality is the same: fresh and delicious. There is the bbq chicken, chicken katsu, fried fish/shrimp, ribs, and beef! Lots of happy food for the tummy. Now why the 2 star? This is why-- Standing in line, wondering to myself, this is the second time I've been here, how come? I know I love Onos, but why haven't I been back? Oh, I know why, you are sooooo slow!!! I have been waiting for my food for over 15 minutes. I am typing on my iPhone with 1 finger while waiting for my food, by the time I am done, my order probably just started. Ono-- you break my heart. If I am only rating solely based on food, I would have given it a 4 star. Note to self-- don't come here unless you have nothing to do or need the fix bad. read more

I want to express that I am giving this place a one star based on service ONLY, if I was given the choice it would be ZERO. The food is amazing, i cannot complain. However, my company orders large orders here on a daily and the girls who work there are extremely RUDE. Today out of all days was the WORST. One worker had the audacity to tell me that if i wanted to split an order I could hang up, call back and give a different #. I mean, for God's sake, are you not up to date with the new systems available now to be able to split orders. I told her that was not necessary and she gave me the shittiest attitude! I called for a 2nd time as my co-workers decided they wanted to order after all. The other person said " are you sure you are not ordering anymore as you guys have been calling a lot" WOW!! we are giving you BUSINESS. Which keeps the business going and is able to pay your wages. I would like a manager to reach out to me as this is UNACCEPTABLE!!! The attitude these girls give when we call in is ridiculous. I do not judge anyone working in the food industry, I have done it myself and customers can be rude. In this case, the employees are very unprofessional and rude, I am not your sister or friend for you to think it is ok to talk to me the way you do, I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER!!!!! if you don't like what you do, look for another place to work and stop representing ONO HAWAIIAN as you are giving them a horrible rep for customer service. read more

The food is decent, but I often seem to have a problem. For instance, tonight I ordered 2 #93. I should have checked the receipt, but after waiting 15 minutes, our number was called. When I went to pick it up, it was 2 #23. Being hearing impaired, I thought that I was the only person who had a hard time hearing in these places. Evidently the help can't hear well either. (Can these business owners please do something to quiet these noisy places???) So for the next 5 minutes, she tried to correct my order. Then I was told that the coupon they accepted for the unintentional #23 wasn't good for #93. I really didn't want to do that AND wait another 15 minutes. I asked for a refund and walked over to Jersey Milke's. BTW, the last time I tried ordering #93, they were out and wouldn't have any for at least an hour. Im surprised this place isnt always packed. I came in for lunch a couple of times and it was pretty empty. I expected the food to be average but the food was great and it was pretty cheap.
