I was very disappointed. First, they don't serve loco mocos, a Hawaiian favorite. Next we found out they were out of Aloha Plates and salads for the day (it was only 12:30 pm!) so we could only order from the plate lunches. I did not need the 2 scoops of rice so I asked if I could have a Mini Meal (only 1 scoop of rice) with White Fish. I was told no, the fish was only available on the larger plate lunches. It took a full 30 minutes to get our food. We ordered at 12:38 and got our food at 1:07. But then the guy behind the counter ran over and asked to check our food. The food here is delicious and is the perfect answer for a Hawaiian BBQ craving. The staff is always friendly as well. Although I've only had my usual combo (Fried shrimp/Chicken katsu) and spam musubi, they offer several other items such as: soups, salads, mini-meals for the less hungry, mahi-mahi, grilled entrees, teriyaki, burgers, etc. They cater too! You're bound to get your sauce of choice here as well. On my last visit, I've noticed that the portions shrunk a little bit, as I left moderately full as opposed to being stuffed on my other visits. Horrible Customer Service!!! Please come to this place if you enjoy getting bones in your food and then being told it's just how it is there is nothing they can do about it. I then spoke to the manager and she said she would replace the plate for me that day, I told her I would come in a few hours. Today I went there for lunch. Place was super empty. Big sign, cash only. Okay. Kinda weird but whatever. Ordered my combo with drink, she scribbled something down on a pad and asked me for my money. Paid her and she did not give me a receipt nor asked me if I wanted one. I felt kinda of eerie where nothing was punched into the register yet she came up with my total. I don't have an ono where I live so if I'm visiting family I love to stop here for the macaroni salad & katsu chicken. Chicken isn't always great/sometimes overcooked but I love the macaroni salad. I'm impressed by this Ono location. This is the only location I enjoy coming to due to the positive customer service and great quality food. I think the price is good for the amount of food you get. My favorite plate is the seafood mix, which has a variety of meats. I always have a different cashier every time I go in but they are always quick to attend to me and have great attitudes. Food is decent but service is appalling. The woman taking my order had a scowl on her face the whole time and was incredibly rude. They did not ask if I wanted my food for here or to go, but when they gave me a to go bag and I told them for here the woman dropped my food on a tray with attitude and didn't say a word. I've eaten here a few times, and dig it. It's a shade pricey but the quality and quantity seems very good to my mainlander round eyes. Today I had the shrimp and chicken noodle soup, packed with veggies and noodles. With a packet of soy sauce and a packet of hot sauce it was excellent. I came here looking for my local Hawaiian foods and was extremely disappointed with the teriyaki chicken in a bowl. The bowl had rice on the bottom, a few pieces of cabbage on the rice, small pieces of chicken breast on the cabbage, and a watery teriyaki sauce over everything. Most of the sauce washed down to the bottom of the bowl instead of staying on the rice and chicken. If that wasn't bad enough, the chicken was seasoned with too much black pepper! It should be renamed teriyaki peppered chicken. And to top it all was the lack of professional customer service! They were rude! Will take my business elsewhere. read more
