Went here to get a burger. Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and fries with a glass bottle of coke. This came out to $20.00 and I waited about 30 minutes to get it. The patties were small in diameter but tall. The bun was wider than the patties and I had to remove one to eat it. They were overcooked and dry. This is the best place to buy meats and deli items in Whittier/La Habra area. I usually buy NY Steaks but decided to try a tri tip. I have bought the pre-seasoned ones from Costco but they taste too salty. I have attached a couple picks from it and it was amazing. They will season it for you. Wow! I stopped in here today for lunch. Have passed this place 1 million times and just thought it was a nursery. Had a cheeseburger on brioche bun and it was yummy. Had taken my wife to Orchards one day for lunch and had one of the best steak sandwiches I had in sometime so I told my kids. We decided to go there for dinner today and ordered 3 steak sandwiches as my wife and daughter wanted to see what I raved about. Unfortunately the experience was the complete opposite and they were the worst steak sandwiches we have had. They were very cold and I should have said something to the restaurant but did not as it was close to closing and I was tired. It is unfortunate as I am not certain we will return. Wanting to treat my daughter to a little one on one time with Mom, I decided to come to Orchards. I've been wanting to give it a try for a long time, so glad I finally did! Very spacious seating, both inside and out. Clean, and decorated nicely. A great atmosphere. We were greeted promptly, always a good sign. I told the employee it was my first time and could she suggest something. She was very helpful answering questions. We decided on the pulled pork sandwich, side of steak fries, and the sampler platter. First the sandwich...YUM! Generous serving of meat. Had I bought another roll I could have made a second sandwich. Meat was fork tender and so flavorful. I passed on the coleslaw since I'm not a huge fan, so I can't say how theirs tastes. I picked the spicy bbq sauce to go with. It comes on the side. Next the sampler...another YUM! You pick two meats, a side and it comes with a roll. We chose ribs, roasted chicken (they were out of tri-tip), and mac n cheese. The entire meal did not disappoint! It was more than enough food, we actually could have shared with a third person in my opinion. With two meals, and two fountain drinks the bill came out to around $29. Great price for some great food. They also have a butcher. Everything looks fresh and great quality. I can't wait to come back and pick up something to cook at home. Can someone say ribeye??? I ordered a bacon wrapped hot dog and when I got home I found a hot dog on top of a couple pieces of overcooked bacon. I also ordered the Tri-tip chili cheese steak fries. I found that the tri-tip was ground into the chili and the fries were soaked in grease. I thought it would be strips of tri-tip covered in chili. That's more on me. I love BBQ, so much that I have been known to smoke a pork butt for 24hrs in my backyard just because I want BBQ. I got ribs and tri tip 1st think I noticed was no smoke ring on the meat strike 1, ribs were falling off the bone for me that is always a plus I know they say that's over cooked but ome BBQ yourself. My macaroni salad was good and the fries were hot and fresh. Love the selection of bottle sodas and beer. Was really hoping to be wowed been coming here for years to buy board head cold cuts and get all my prime meats and I will continue, just not sure about eating here there are no short cuts to good BBQ and it seems like alot of short cuts have left alot to desire from this BBQ in my opinion.
