So I'm probably going to be overly critical of this restaurant. However at the prices you are paying and I would consider a higher end restaurant based on those prices, I think it's fair to be critical. Had an 8:15 reservation on Saturday night ... it was a little busy. No waiting area at checking so everyone stands outside. This is where I thought it was awkward. The lady who is getting everyone checked in is also calling out names from behind the counter from the inside. So you can tell that hearing your name called when your table is ready can be rather hard. We were called and sat at our table... they provide a QR code to scan to see your menu on your phone. No what I expected for a nicer restaurant but hey times are changing and include technology more right??? Or maybe they are cutting costs??? I dunno. They provided water for the table in wine glasses... my guess is they were out of water glasses since I saw some other tables have them... again awkward. Then we go to ordering drinks... their craft cocktails were decent I had a mezcal old fashion and the wife had a version of cucumber jalapeño drink. I ordered a second drink and liked what my wife had so I asked for the same thing she had ... the brought me that drink and it tasted good but when I got the bill they charged me for a margarita add cucumber and jalapeño ... this made the drink $2 more than my wife's drink... howwww? Ordered a Caesar salad and their version of Caesar dressing was different and unique but not sure I would order again for $18. Food came ... wife got the tostada with skirt steak... flavor was good but it's literally one tostado with a second tostada with beans ... not really following why that was. I ordered the barbacoa... I asked if it comes with rice or beans but it literally came with just barbacoa and tortillas... barbacoa was good but without any accompaniments ... just seemed very plain. We also go the elote and that was underwhelming as the corn it self was not juicy and plump and seemed undercooked. Waitress was nice but inattentive... she took our silverware after we got the salad but never brought back more silverware and when our food arrived we had to wait a few minutes to get silverware. Overall I had high hopes for a nice restaurant being in the east valley and not having to go to Scottsdale, however it kind of missed the mark. read more

It's very authentic Mexican food (I'm Latina so I'm very critical) and the quality of food was so delicious. The service was quick and our server provided great service as well. Our first time here. We tried to make a reservation but both phone lines were down. Without a reservation we were seated at the bar. The ambience is first class. Love the decor and attention to detail. All I can say is EVERYTHING was amazing. Food was delicious. My husband had the salmon and I had the baked potato. I never had a potato made this way before. Not sure who the "DJ" was but that was not good. 8/30 7-8pm. Not sure if it was the acoustics of the room or his set up but not only could we not distinguish the songs, but overall it felt like we were eating dinner in a strip club. The tables around us were all joking that the music as off, but you couldn't hold a conversation to ignore it. Not a pleasant atmosphere. The pricing unfortunately does not match the quality of food and service. That being said our waiter was great he did everything in his power to make it right. They weren't packed, so I'm not sure what the hold up was on our drinks. The bartender never made our drinks so our waiter had to make them. Our octopus was overcooked like a chicharron, 2 of our guests didn't get their food until we were all done eating, and one of my sides arrived as I finished my plate. The bone marrow was a disappointment but our waiter brought out 6 more to help with all the hiccups... Mind you it was good food but could have been so much better! I was excited to try this new place! Unfortunately, the food and drinks were subpar. It is a pricey restaurant, the expectation to have an elevated plate along with amazing drinks is the expectation. We ordered guacamole (all we could taste was the lime), an empanada (it was ok) and tacos (they were very greasy) the meat was bland and not tender. The kitchen definitely needs to change things up. I went in Saturday afternoon for an early dinner with my girlfriends. Ambience was beautiful. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable. We sat down ordered a variety of tacos and the queso fundido. it was all very flavorful. Our cocktails were delicious and very refreshing. The only downside or complaint I would have is that we were sitting in front of the open kitchen and they were distractingly loud. Mostly the cook who kept walking from the kitchen to the bar. He was screaming a lot we couldn't even hear the music. It sounded like we were having dinner at a daycare versus a steakhouse. I would definitely recommend coming for the food and drinks. When you first walk in you feel like this restaurant should be somewhere on Scottsdale Road, thank God it's here in Gilbert !! This place is awesome. Service was great. We didn't wait. more than five minutes to be seated. Drinks were amazing. We had the guacamole and the tuna tiradito as appetizers, which were fantastic. We had the skirt steak, and the tenderloin al trapo which were both tender, and very flavorful. Ps. Ask for extra chimichurri sauce, it's the best I've had. We ended with the lava cake which came with some raspberry sorbet WOW and the flan which was very smooth and creamy . The whole experience was incredible. Overcooked my $24 burger. Music was way too loud. We asked them to turn it down and they didn't. Well overpriced. The server was courteous, but took 15 minutes to bring me my check after I asked for it. The tortilla soup was good, but they brought my meal literally two minutes after they brought me the soup so the table was crammed with plates. So much potential but fell just a tad short in terms of Food prep, service and other issues for the price paid. To start, the Ambiance and decor is very cool. Love the charred wood and wood light fixtures. Where they fell short is the amount of flies buzzing around and the sunshine blazing in the window kept the temperature in the place, hot! Music was good and unique. Great vibe. I started with a chipped plate and saw another couple send their plates in for being dirty as well. The guacamole appy was delightful but we requested more chips and the waiter said that's a common request. Then fix that! Then we had to pay for them. The steak we ordered was under cooked and had to get cooked further not one but two times. A steak place should know how to cook a steak but at least it was tasty when it was done to Med Well as requested. Sides were good also but had to eat them while hot waiting for my steak. Lastly the place got packed for Father's Day and they didn't have enough staff which then led to our server not being able to get back to us timely and we sat for 15 minutes waiting for the bill. The guys was awesome and we felt sorry for him since he had our table and one all the way across the restaurant. So Origen ya got some things to fix. We will be back for another try. read more

The $59 piece of fish was thin and bony, not big enough to make a small sandwich! They were out of several menu items as well as water glasses! The ambiance consisted of kitchen noise on one side and a rock concert on the other! It was impossible to carry on a conversation or hear the server. The fish came without any sides so we ordered fries, which arrived long after the fish and were priced at $1 each! $14 for a small dish! I could not read or understand much of anything on it, but I trusted my waitress and she did not steer me wrong. we tried a couple different taco dishes. They were very, very tasty. They served an amazing appetizer. Don't ask me what was in it, but it was so good they even brought seconds. It was a really cool experience. There's a great vibe with the atmosphere and the place was packed. It was shocking to me that I had never heard of this place. It's a great little area tucked away in Gilbert, Arizona that you wouldn't know. Is there unless you live in the area, anyhow, super cool place oh, they also have live music, which was actually really good. That's a rare thing to find in any city especially Gilbert.
