I was super excited to try the Original Vincent's after going to their Long Island location, which I loved! But, I was unfortunately very disappointed in the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. Upon entering, we had to wait a while to be seated and served regardless of the fact that the restaurant was practically empty. Out of our four place settings, at least two included dirty utensils. After requesting new utensils, the server took the dirty ones from us but never came back with clean ones. We also waited a while for our server and another while for our food to actually come out. All in all the food tasted good but in my opinion was a little over priced for the poor service and not-so-clean atmosphere. I will not be coming back to this Vincent's location.

Rigatoni Marinara - don't even need to ask for al dente or it will be too hard. Best pasta dish you will eat in your life with this sauce.

EPIC SAUCE - MUST TASTE - Coming from an Italian, true foodie, and sauce connoisseur... this restaurant is a legacy and is going to close unless we save it. This is single handily the absolute most amazing marinara/red sauce/gravy whatever you want to call it that you will ever taste in your life. Absolutely nothing compares. I do not write reviews but feel it is my civil duty to give this sauce justice. You can eat it by the spoon, even bowl lol or with bread and calamari dunked in it. The rigatoni is awesome, so are the ravioli and lasagna. We have tried to go a few times and they have been closed. I have been coming here from NJ since I was a little girl. We stocked up on the jared sauce you buy in the restaurant but it is not the same. The supermarket version of this sauce is better but still not as amazing as what you get in this restaurant. I beg of you please send everyone you know here ... I dare you to find a better tasting sauce. They have sweet, medium, hot something for everyone. I suggest sweet on the food and a side of medium and hot for $1 each for dipping and adding on the side. You must trust me on this one and please leave a review if you go and agree. How do they have 13 reviews being open for decades ?! Keep it simple here get a pasta with marinara, chicken parm, calamari, ravioli and plenty of sauce. I guarantee you have never had sauce like this.

Why does this place only have one other review? That's a little sketchy. I've been going here my entire life, and there is nothing that compares to the calamari and marinara. If and when you go, sit at the bar and watch them cook. It's all part of the experience. The service, the food, the waiters; are all fantastic. Again I've been going here my entire life eating who knows how much of that marinara... Ask for it medium. If you like it spicy, ask for hot. But if you would like to taste your food and the flavors of your meal go as high as medium. Hot is just asking for a challenging meal. Maybe ask for a side of hot. Just trust me on this. My staples are calamari and the chicken Parm. Steamed or fried calamari whichever you prefer, you can't go wrong either way. And Double it. Just trust me. They also have the spinning dessert wheel, again you can't go wrong with anything in there, my personal favorite is the chocolate strawberries, they are seasonal and not always avail. When I was a kid I used to sneak in there and grab one or two. My father always ended up paying for them, and Sharky always egged me on. Fun memories. After all these years I'm glad I got to go back and experience Vincent's another time as an adult with a dear friend of mine.

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

If you answered "yes" to all three, then Fumo is a place to seriously consider. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The service is fast and attentive. The menu has lots of excellent choices. The portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. There you go ! Fumo is for you, (at least the Chelsea location) is for you. Any drawbacks ? youi ask.....well, yes, there is one, and it should be cosnidered. The restaurant is so so so popular that the noise level can be a bit ..... shall we say "daunting." Fumo is a great place but if you want a soft, quiet place to have a serious conversation, maybe save it for another time....

This means those dishes aren't truly gluten free for people with celiac disease or anyone who has to avoid gluten. When I pointed that out to my server, he just gave me a blank stare. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

It's obvious they use quality ingredients and the kitchen is technically very sound. The pasta in particular was cooked perfectly. There are several places around the city that I feel can deliver a similar meal and experience without quite as much hype. That's not to say I didn't enjoy L'Artusi, because I absolutely did. It just didn't separate itself from some of the other really good Italian restaurants I've visited. Service was great, the atmosphere was nice, and overall we had a very enjoyable dinner. Just one where my expectations may have been a little higher than the experience delivered.
