We saw a few termites and called Terminix. The Terminix rep came over, gave a cursory glance around our home and said we needed to spend $4K on tenting and spraying. His lack of thoroughness concerned us so we called Scott at Pacific Termite. Unlike the Terminix guy, Scott looked everywhere and in depth. He concluded that we absolutely do not have a termite problem and explained in detail why tenting would be a waste of money. The inspector Steve was friendly, patient with my questions, gave helpful explanations and guidance, and was responsive to follow-up questions after the inspection. I've used this company twice now and I find them to be very thorough! We didn't want to do the tenting option either time (service dates were 5 years apart) because it's such a hassle, so we went with the spraying option both times. While we did end up having termites again after the first treatment in 2015, like probably every house in California, but we didn't have them in the same spot as last time so the spraying method is definitely effective! We opted to have the damaged wood removed and replaced as well as the spraying and the workers were at our house for around 2 hours. We could tell they gave the crawlspace a good soaking with the chemicals and didn't skimp. I also like that fact that they have a 2-year warranty, which means they stand behind their work! read more

I was very pleased with the service I received from Pacific Termite. Pacific Termite was responsive and courteous when I requested their help in evaluating some possible trouble areas at my home. Sam came out promptly, performed a thorough assessment and came up with three different options for remediating the problem areas. He was very thorough and insightful in explaining how to approach treatment options, gave me pros and cons, and didn't pressure me into going with the most expensive option (tenting). Jenny coordinated my service and also reviewed the various service options with me and gave me her thoughts on possible treatments which I found super helpful. When the crew came out they were very careful when removing my rain gutters and decorative trim to get at the damaged facia boards and rafters. When they crew was done with the exterior structural work and the interior treatment they did a thorough patch and paint job so the areas looked like a perfect match with the surrounding areas. It had been over 20 years since our house had been inspected for termite and dry rot damage. We selected Pacific Termite based on previous excellent ratings in Yelp. Inspector Kevin is a great guy and examined our property and gave us a detailed report of the recommended work to be done. He found extensive termite and dry rot damage resulting in replacement of almost all our fascia boards around the house, and some of the patio overhang boards as well. The wood repair crew was extremely competent and completed the wood repair quickly and carefully with no damage to surrounding structure. They even replaced a few shiplap roof sheathing boards at no charge that were missed in the initial inspection. Really appreciated that they primed and painted all the replacement fascia and shiplap and patio boards to match, which was included in their work scope. They performed subterranean termite treatment as well around our outdoor water heater shed. The fumigation crew came in afterward and tented our house to address the interior infestation that was found. Inspector Kevin came back out for a pre-fume walk-thru and gave us great preparation guidance for the process. Simon's fumigation crew showed up on a Wednesday early, and the tenting was installed. Fumigation lasted Wednesday and Thursday, with the tent coming off the house early Friday, and we were back in the house at noon on Friday. Simon was a great guy as well who explained everything, and was in contact with us by cell phone when the tarp was coming off to minimize the house being unattended while all the windows were open. As with the woodworking crew, great care taken by the tarp guys in causing no damage to any surrounding structure. There was a PVC HVAC drain tube on the side of the house that was broken off by the tarp install, but that was my error in that I forgot to take it off prior to leaving, so that's on me. That was the only casualty. Sorry for the long review, but all this to say I would highly recommend Pacific Termite for your termite job. They took their time to explain each step of the process. Their workmanship was top notch, and I'm a handyman and was impressed--this was too big of a wood repair job for me. Their pricing was extremely fair for the value of all the work that they accomplished with great care for our home. David, the inspector came over and was able to determine that indeed drywood termite damaged was evident and quoted several options. The prices were reasonable and my mom did agreed that a full home fumigation was the best option for her home. David explain to my mom everything that needed to be done and how to prep for the process with great patience and professionalism. I called Pacific Termite along with 2 other options and chose Pacific Termite due to their competitive price but more importantly their attention to detail. Now that the work has completed a couple weeks ago, they were true to their word on the quality of the work. First, we have a spanish tile roof, we had heard nightmare stories of broken tiles but the guys were very careful and we had almost no damage, the damage we had was insignificant. When it came to the woodwork, they really stand out. They measured ahead of time in order to order the wood as this is an old house and the width are different than standards today. They did a great job, it looks great. They treated the wood ahead of time and primed and painted when done. took 3 days to complete the job and couldn't be happier with the quality. TL;DR: Honest, very responsive, answered all my questions, very competitive pricing. Full story: While we were redoing our floors we came across a termite infestation under one of our stairs, which forced us to completely demo the area. Originally the termite company our HOA uses came out and gave us a price that seemed decent; however, I wanted to see what was out there. So I came to trusty Yelp and requested quotes from 5 well-rated termite companies here (one of which was Pacific). Of the 5, 1 of the companies kept changing the days scheduled for the inspection, 4 came by for the inspection, 3 provided a quote, and 2 I had to follow up for the final report. Pacific termite was the only one: 1. To respond to the request within the hour after it was made. 2. Stephen (inspector) called before arrival as I requested and arrived on time. 3. Stephen was very friendly and honest with all the questions I asked. Even when I thought certain areas might be affected, he said they were not. He could have said they were, charged me, and no one would have noticed. 4. Provided the quote and report without me having to follow up. 5. Their price was very competitive. 6. Last month Pacific Termite tented my house. The inspector, Kevin, was very professional and thorough in his report - especially regarding food and necessary preparations around the perimeter of the house. My contact at the office, Erin, was helpful and supportive. If there was a question she could not answer, she would get back to me quickly. When rain was in the forecast, she was able to move my date. The tent-coverers themselves were amazingly efficient in their work; they even showed up early in the morning to remove the tents, so I didn't need to rent my motel room for another day or sit on the street. As for wood repair, the damage was extensive. The carpenters/contractors were very conscientious in their work, making sure that they repaired any termite damage they came across, regardless of whether or not it was on the inspector's list. They also provided information for addressing termites in the future - and avoiding the chaos of tenting. read more

Kevin came out and spent 2 hours inspecting my house and even climbed under the house twice. They gave me an estimate for fumigation and for orange treatment. Due to the extensive infestation that I knew I had, I went with the fumigation. Every step of the way Pacific Termite took the time to explain everything and answer my numerous questions (will my wine be affected, what needs to be bagged, etc.) Anyone who needed to come to my house was on time, professional and did a beautiful job. By far Pacific Termite, offered competitive pricing and turn around times to do the work, response times to all my questions and asks for references. I reviewed all the contracts from the different termite companies. It is important to look at them as you want the best chemicals/materials used to get rid of the termites. Pacific Termite beat the other contractor's price, did additional repairs, and did an outstanding job on everything they worked on. The repairs look great and are all high-quality. This is a terrible company. And by the way, Pacific Termite doesn't even do the work. They sub it out to another company. That breaks the chain of accountability. Pacific Termite just produces the looooong disclaimer policy that absolves them of any responsibility for damage and then collects the money. For our job, both Pacific and their sub failed to keep track of the weather and tented our house on a day when rain was forecasted and the first storm in months arrived. The job should never have happened on a rainy day. It should've been rescheduled. The problem was that our roof is 3/4 flat so most of the storm water was trapped on top by the termite tent, threatening collapse. I reached out to the company 4 times during the evening, begging for intervention. Finally, I got passed to the head of the sub, he told me that he wouldn't come check the job because he didn't want to be bothered to travel through traffic. That was my fourth panicky communication of the evening. He couldn't be bothered to intervene. He claimed to be familiar with my house but then it turns out that he had never been there. Fortunately for the house but bad for the environment, the rains broke the tent, allowing some of the storm water to escape but also the poison gas as well. In addition, the sub's rough treatment while tenting the home killed a beloved tree. The company wouldn't take responsibility. Claimed it was a "coincidence" and that the tree that was thriving and beautiful, even during a summer of strong Santa Anas, was rotten. It was outside the tent but near where the crews were scrambling to secure the tent. Get a better company. Otherwise, you'll be so disappointed. (I'd give less than one star if possible.) P.S. The company is now harassing me to take down this review, telling me they'll give me a full refund if I do so. If there's an absence of other voices such as my own, you might ask yourself why that is so. read more

First of all, a sincere Thank You to Scott at Pacific Termite! My wife had been calling around to different termite exterminators as we just bought a new home and wanted to rid our pergola of some termites. Scott was honest and incredibly helpful. He told my wife that there was no reason she and I couldn't take care of the mites ourselves with some at-home termite foam treatments. Best yet, Scott not only came to our home for a free consultation, but he explained to us exactly what to do and where to treat our pergola. He also explained to us which termite foam to purchase and where we could get it! In our eyes, he treated our pergola for free. We know it's our responsibility to actually treat it and buy the product, but Scott literally didn't even profit in any way and just did this out of the kindness of his heart! If you want an honest company to come and help you with your termites situation, we highly suggest Pacific Termite. They will not lead you astray and they will do the best they can to take care of you without hiking up prices and making you pay extraneous amounts unless that's what the job calls for. Another company had told me they'd have to treat my pergola for $700-$1k! Scott came in and told us exactly what to do FOR FREE, and the product cost me $60 from amazon for two whole bottles. I can not say this enough, THIS IS THE BEST TERMITE COMPANY! I had another company come out to do an inspection. That gentleman did a 20 minute inspection and said I had to tent and give me a quote of $8500.00 I was freaked we might have to tent our house and have to relocate not only my family but two giant German Shepherds. Jason came out the next day spent over an hour inspecting my home, drawing my floor plan. He even looked at our garden shed. He felt tenting was unnecessary but we could if it made me more comfortable. He felt spot spraying was the appropriate for what he found. He found wood damage in three locations, including the shed. His crew could both spray and repair the damaged wood. The crew arrived on time. Our house was built 1904 a Craftsman and we are crazy purest about how any repair is handled. Let me tell you, these gentlemen were true craftsman. At one point I went out to see how it was going and low and behold, there was way more damaged wood then I thought. I panicked at how it was going to look after since the wood was painted three different colors. With no request from me, they located paint we had left over from last painting and proceeded to paint the repairs. When I went out the end of the day like magic it looked like they had never here. I did get a quote to tent it was less the half of the first company. The price to spray and repair was so reasonable, in fact after I saw what needed to be repaired felt the price was low. I'm not surprised by the outstanding reviews here for pacific termite. I had my house tented and had an extensive amount of woodwork and window repairs done by them. It was a huge job. I had 4 other companies come out for estimates and pacific termite won me over for a few reasons: the reviews were excellent, their price was reasonable, and Scott the owner was knowledgeable and gave me the confidence that he would take care of my home. They are also one of the few companies who do wood repair which was really convenient so I could use a company who understood termite damage and what the wood repairs entail. They did an excellent job on all the wood repairs (and I had a ton of windows) and their workers were respectful and efficient. The tenting went great as well. We are in construction and found termite damage . I had Terminex come out to give us a quote. They were horrible, unorganized and very expensive! I then found Pacific Termite on Yelp. Steve came out and was great, thorough and informative. They were much more reasonably priced. We have both subterranean and drywood Termite's ( lucky is ) . We can't tent since we are in construction so we booked the subterranean treatment. They arrived on time. There was a bit of a mix up regarding our guest house( which is on a slab) but I called Stacy at the office and she sorted it out quickly and efficiently. I had an inspection by Orkin that found termite activity. I've used Orkin for more than 20 years, but thought I'd get a second opinion because it seemed extreme to tent my house, which Orkin recommended, for such little activity. I found Pacific Termite on Yelp and thought the reviews sounded too good to be true. I was wrong. From my first phone call with Scott I was sold. He was very helpful and friendly and told me that he doesn't recommend tenting unless more time had elapsed since I last tented. I had some scheduling issues, and Scott was very accommodating. The inspector found the same termite damage and rotted wood that Orkin found, but also identified a few other items (i.e. evidence of water stains under the house) I should investigate. Pacific Termite's price to treat the areas AND repair the rotted wood was very reasonable. The fact that Pacific Termite also will repair rotted wood was super helpful. Orkin requires you to call in another vendor for that -- consequently, I had put off that repair for years. Every person I talked to at Pacific Termite from Scott down to the people who scheduled the service and handled billing were super friendly. I wish I had found Pacific Termite years ago, but now that I have, I'm never going back to Big Pest Control. read more

I noticed the signs of termites in my garage, which was built in Gardena in 1943. I made an appointment with Pacific Termite for an inspection/estimate. The process was simple and staff friendly. Sam came out on time and did the inspection. After discussing the options, his final recommendation was for me to do the treatment myself because the termite infestation was limited to 3 boards. No need for a full garage treatment at this point. I really appreciated the honest assessment and options.
