A couple weeks ago we found some termite activity in our garage for the first time. We called a couple places looking for quotes for what turned out to be some subterranean termite activity. When we finally contacted Pacific Termite, we were incredibly impressed with their inspector, Yuki. Yuki was professional, honest and thorough in his inspection of our garage. We had termites, our house had never been tented but we also wanted direct application to exposed wood (in crawl spaces and attic). We did both treatments to make sure our house was treated well. Just had the work done by Pacific Termite and couldn't be happier. The inspection was done by Sam, who crawled around the entire attic spaces (something the Terminix inspectors did not do when we worked with them in the past). Sam clearly explained what he found (with photos) and his recommendations, which did not include tenting (which was great since we have a ceramic tile roof which is damaged during tenting, doubling the cost of the work). I worked with Jennifer in the office, who was great. The men (Pacific Termite employees) who did the work were also terrific. i had wood repair and a total fumigation done. three men one day and two the next day repaired eves, balcony, and some other areas. wood looked like it had always been there, as they matched the color perfectly. the fumigation was done as scheduled. everyone was completely professional and honest. they scheduled the gas man to turn off the gas and come back to relight the pilot lights. i feel that they did an excellent job and i could not be more pleased! read more

When Sam visited my house, I could also sense that he was honest and professional. He examined my guest house and showed me immediately where there were termites. Based on positive reviews about Pacific, I had Scott come out to check on problem areas of our house. Turned out it was crickets in the walls, not termites - actually, earlier in the day, another one of the "Big" termite companies had come out and proposed a fumigation plan and monthly service contract to resolve the problem. Scott, instead recommended a do it yourself on-line product fix which made much more sense. I also showed him some insect larvae casings that the other guys were all over the map on with explanations - Scott knew exactly what they were and confirmed a description of the flying insects we had seen without telling him about it in advance. He smiled and walked back out to his truck - no charge, just good advice. Totally trust him, and if ever I suspect termites in the future, I'll pass on the big guys and call Scott/Pacific. read more

Overall, I was truly impressed with how I was treated throughout this process. The technicians arrived on time. They reviewed what was to be done. Surveyed and went straight to work to treat my problem areas. They were extremely courteous and respectful to my property. They paid close attention to protect my hardwood floor by placing a drop cloth under the area that they had equipment and the opening to the attic. The process included treating subterranean and dry wood termites in my home and detached garage. They treated a slightly greater area in the garage than the inspector identified was required. The subterranean treatment on the garage required them to drill small holes through the stucco and through the slab, both a couple feet apart. When done, they patched all holes with cement. After going under our house, to threat for subterranean termites, knowing that I had the paint needed to cover the repairs to the garage, they came back with their own paint brush to paint. I held them off from painting, when I told them that I would take care of it myself when the patches were more fully dried. I was impressed with how much effort that they went into at the end to clean all of their equipment. read more

We had our windows replaced and in one small area of the window trim we found a few termites. The window and trim were removed but we wanted a thorough inspection of the house with a company that uses orange oil as an alternative to the gas fumigation. Pacific Termite was one of the few companies that uses this procedure if the infestation is not too extreme. Scott Kim came out and looked in my attic, under my house and at all the windows and wood trim and gave me the great news that there were no termites and he believed that was an isolated area. Since the window was removed, so were the termites. Scott gave a thorough inspection and answered our many questions. I made an appt to have Terminaider come out to do an inspection. My window was 3-5p. I get a call at 4p from the inspector saying he was "on his way". I inquire as to approx. how many min. He tells me 30-40 min. He gets to my house at 4:45p. Yes he was within his time frame, good for him. But if you're given a time frame you'd like it to be closer to the start or middle than the very end! Plus it's my very first impression of this company. Promise me a time, impress me! The inspector takes so long to get out of his truck I had to meet him outside. He didn't have anything on him when he introduced himself, no ladder, no work order board. I show him a bag of flying termites that I had collected from my floor earlier in the day when they came inside. With barely a glance he tells me I definitely need tent fumigation. I asked him if he was going to inspect my house, he says "sure I'll take a look around". He never went inside my house, didn't do any attic or garage inspections. I told him I wanted a quote for the tenting. He goes back towards his car and maybe 8 min later he gives me a price. All in all his total "inspection" time at my house was less than 15 min. He was gone by 5p! Dude I know it's Friday close to your quitting time but I'm sure if your bosses wanted you to try to get my business, you should have tried harder! No thanks! read more

He told me that I didn't need him right now for my particular issue and he told me how to take care of it myself rather than pay him to come out and waste money. Got several competitive bids for tenting termite fumigation. They were very good in communicating the process. They were not the lowest price, not the highest either. But the no BS communication, explaining the steps clearly (including the need to have the gate to gas meter not only unlocked but in the open position for the gas company tech to access and shut off the gas valve), and easy scheduling were pluses. They even had written advice to notify the immediate neighbors so they could observe any criminal activity while it was tented. They also advised to notify the police dept or security service to patrol the property during the tenting. They also recommended doing it in early week to keep the process to only 3 days. Doing it over the weekend was a 4 day process because of no work on Sunday. Any extra time tented was an extra day at risk for criminal activity. If you read the reviews of some other tenting companies you will see a few posts about burglary of the property during their services. Makes you wonder if the crimes were inside jobs, or criminals were tipped off of a vacant property by the workers of the fumigation service. The crew of Pacific Termite had least 5 people arrived to drape the property. No criminal activity occurred. Now I just hope there are no more termites. read more

wow. the best ever. thanks yelp- everything the reviewers said was true! this is the 4th time i've tented and i've always had issues afterwards. i always get remodeling work done on my home after tenting just so i will be able to tell if termites are still present... and they usually are. i waited a couple months after this treatment to make sure they were gone and they are! it's really hard to find a reliable company that is reasonable. scott (the owner) is very knowledgeable and an all around good guy. they took care of everything and i paid over the phone by credit card after the treatment. very easy. if you buy a house with serious termite issues like i did and you need serious treatment, this is a great company. you may find someone who will try to offer you a slightly lower price, but just remember- you get what you pay for and you can't see termites even if they are still there. do your research, and beware, there are a lot of shady companies out there! read more
